Fixing an Oopsie
Date of Scene: 19 July 2023
Location: Club Building
Synopsis: Amy, Coco, and Mio go to Blue about the mistake of revealing their magical girl identities to each other.
Cast of Characters: Mio Morita, Amanda Faust, 6, Coco Kiumi

Mio Morita has posed:
Mio was leading the way to her dorm but then had a better idea. The Hero Club Room was closer and there just so happened to be a mirror in the room that had been covered up with a sheet. It wasn't exactly needed in there. It just was there because someone thought the room could use a full length mirror. So that is where Mio was headed. She quickly makes her way through the cafeteria and out of the building. Mio leads the way to the club building and goes right to the one flagged as "Hero Club."

Inside the Club room there is a large chalk board and a large table. On the black board, there is as white sign with black writing listing the 6 tenets of hero club. In the corner, The mirror sits. Its covered in a white sheet and really looks like its been there all year so far.

Mio walks in and turns the lights on. She walks over to the mirror and pulls the sheet off in a dramatic fashion. "Okay, Here we go." Mio taps the mirror three times. "Ummm, Blue-Sama? Are you there? Its kind of important." She frowns hating every moment of this. How could she be so foolish to have gotten her identity revealed. She shudders and just crosses her arms over her body.

Amanda Faust has posed:
As they head towards the club building, Amy wonders, "Where are we going?" For some reason she pictured them going back to their dorm room. But that is no doubt quickly explained.

Once they're in the room, and Mio knocks on the mirror, she wonders, "Should we be in civilian mode or magical girl mode for this?"

Mochi (6) has posed:
Eventually, Mio's reflection is no longer visible in the mirror, and instead, there's at first nothing, no reflections at all, just an empty shimmering space. Eventually though, a handsome man - or at least what looks like one, wearing blue dress pants and a white button up shirt - though it looks like he gave up buttoning said shirt about 3/4 of the way up - walks into view from the side of the mirror.

Blue regards Mio with those bright eyes of his, like the oceans, and runs a hand through his hair, which is also blue. It's kind of a theme. "Mio, it appears that something is wrong?" He asks her from his side of the mirror. "I can see the worry in your face..." He doesn't appear to have noticed Amy or Coco yet - maybe the angle is off.

Coco Kiumi has posed:
Following alongside Mio, Coco quickly gets in the Hero Club. She looks around the room a bit, all in all a quite simple room. 'This room doesn't scream godly.' The Six Tenets were a nice touch for a leader to have. 'Give people a good greeting, Try not to give up, Sleep well, eat well...' 'It seems this Blue really cares about his magical heroines', Coco notes already having a positive impression of Blue despite the mistaken starting point.

Coco is about to ask how they are going to meet him when the mirror stops reflecting the room and Blue comes into view.'Wow, is he Blue? Mio wasn't joking, he is quite handsome." A grin has appeared on Coco's face. 'Maybe I can get some time with him later', she thinks, having acquired a new flirting target. Now they have more important things to deal with, though. "Hello", she addresses the man in the mirror. "I suppose you are God, right? It's a honour to meet you. I am Coco, or Yellow Pearl Voice, as I am also known."

Mio Morita has posed:
"Sorry, I just went to the Hero Club room because it was closer than the dorm. I remembered there was a big mirror in here." Mio takes a deep breath and turns her attention to the Mirror.

"You can come out, Blue-Sama. I'm so sorry to bother you." She frowns. "The secret came out. I didn't mean to. Pin sneezed and was heard. I did all I could to conceal it but the damage was done. My friends here know I'm a Pretty Cure. And one other." She sighs "Does this mean I can't be a Pretty Cure anymore?" She asks looking far more worried. "I didn't mean for all of this to happen." She looks to the girls and then to Blue.

Amanda Faust has posed:
Amy jumps and stares a bit. For all her talk earlier, she's still kind of... surprised and amazed to see this magical entity other than Kyubey or Pin. She believed Mio, of course, but hearing about it and seeing it are two different things, you know?

Coco steps up and introduces herself.

Amy, too, steps up beside Mio.

"I am... Amanda. And Mio is a kind and wonderful girl, mature for her age and willing to shoulder the burdens of a Hero." She points at the mirror. "You won't find many like her. And those of us who should've known better got found out too. If you'd stop her from being a Cure over just this... OR for if she one day finds love..."

Amy pulls her soul gem, on a necklace, out of her shirt, and from the outside is briefly engulfed in a sphere of light, then stands mostly covered by her cloak but with the rocket launcher hefted on one shoulder.

"...Then you'll have to go through us."

It would be SO embarassing if she had said that and NOT transformed and got bodied by a god in civilian mode.

Mochi (6) has posed:
Blue visibly facepalms when Mio says this. He slowly steps through the mirror like any of the other girls might walk through a door into a suspicious place. Then again, one of the girls had hefted a rocket launcher onto her shoulder and given him an ultimatum. He regards Amy with a quiet glance. "You have a very complicated and chaotic spirit right now, that much is clear. But... Your life will be difficult enough now that you've taken your wish from the white and fuzzy one... I do suggest you not make it any more difficult by making enemies where you do not have to." He says, and smiles. It's not a threatening smile but a gentle one, as though he's giving helpful advice more than a threat.

"Now, we have a Wishmaker..." His eyes turn to regard Coco and he smiles "... Ah, I see. I shouldn't say then." He leans up against the wall, putting hands into pockets. "The rules are for the protection of yourself and those close to you, Mio-san. It is not so much a crisis that these girls know that you are a cure, as long as their hearts remain bright." For some reason his eyes flick to Amy for a moment.

"The reason you must endeavor to keep your identity a secret - or, in this case, to share it as little as possible - is because those with dark hearts may seek to do you harm, and if they know you as Mio, they may attack you when you are Mio, not a Pretty Cure. When your defenses are down. Where you rest, sleep, play. That is the reason." For the moment he doesn't address anything to do with love. "I would give the same advice to the rest of you, for the same reasons. Not being able to rest safely is not a pretty way to go through life, when your are already risking yourself in battle."

Coco Kiumi has posed:
Coco is shocked at Ami's reaction. "Red, you can't just threaten him! You don't even know what he is going to say!" Coco looks back at Blue. The man looks as kind as she had presumed from the tenets she has just read, she is sure he is going to be understanding.

"Sorry for her reaction, we are just all really concerned about Mio. It was all one thing that led to another, and I pressed where I shouldn't have, and this is all actually my fault, and I am not going to talk about Mio's identity to anyone, so I hope you would consider being lenient in this circumstance. I am willing to do anything it takes to make up for what happened", she explains frantically. Why did they have to start on the wrong foot...

Blue's next words both relax and confuse Coco. "Wait, "I see?", you mean you know about us? Do you share some sort of origin with Aqua Regina? I mean, your gentle temperament reminds me of her, and your name as well as your hair colour sort of give value to that notion."

Mio Morita has posed:
When Amy transforms, Mio's jaw drops. Its one thing to hear that your friends are magical girls too, its another to actually see it. Then she sees the rocket launcher. "Ummm, Amy? Aren't you worried you are going to umm blow yourself up?" She winces a little. Then the words that she said register. "Oh goodness. Oh my... Amy Threatening a god is a very bad idea."

Pin, who had been with the small group of girls, flies over to Blue. "Blue-Sama it was my fault. There was something dusty in Mio-chan's backpack and it made me sneeze! Mio-chan tried her best to cover for me and make it seem like she sneezed. It didn't work so she tried to say I was a gift toy from her dad. Coco-chan tickled me and I just couldn't keep from laughing. I'm so sorry Blue-Sama! I am just really ticklish is all!"

Mio frowns and hangs her head. "I know, Blue-Sama. I didn't mean to reveal who I was. I did all I could to keep my Identity hidden. Its not like I was parading down the street saying I'm Cure Daybreak. I've been focused on trying to find ways to help people without transforming. If I am allowed to remain a Precure I will do my best to keep the world safe from misfortune. Even if I am not allowed to be anymore, I will keep helping others and keep fighting to make the world better.

Amanda Faust has posed:
Amy narrows her eyes, and her grip tightens. She has a lot of practice (badly) faking being someone stronger and less vulnerable. It's bluster. Inside she's really hoping she didn't piss this entity off. "I made a friend. And a promise to that friend. Your treatment of Mio decides... whether I've made another friend." Still, she dismisses the weapon and tries to relax a bit. And de-escalate without undermining herself. "I'd *like* another friend."

Blue explains that it was a suggestion, not a rule Mio is bound to. Amy nods, like, yeah, *trying* to keep it a secret *is* good advice, duh. She was doing it too.

She looks at Coco. "He makes a good point, avoiding being attacked without our magic ready. If he *had* been a vindicative god, better not to be caught untransformed." Trying to say that while imitating Blue's manner of being the wise one giving advice is kiiiiind of undermined by having literally wish-granted cuteness in appearance and voice. Actually so was trying to seem threatening earlier. The wish is a double-edged sword.

Mochi (6) has posed:
Blue sighs, and reaches out a hand to Pin and ruffles his head a bit. "It is as much my fault as yours, Pin. Perhaps you needed more time than I was able to give you to prepare for the role." He smiles again. "In any case, you did not go out of your way to break the rules, or neglect to follow them as best you could, Mio, so it would be terribly unfair for me to withhold your ability to continue acting as a Pretty Cure."

"And yes, there is more than one deity in charge of keeping this big wide world safe and active. I'm one of many. Aqua Regina is another. We have spoken." He explains. Or, at least, confirms. "Unfortunately none of us have the power to be everywhere at once and solve all problems, so we act in our own ways to the best of our abilities." But he looks at Coco. "I look at you and hear the song of the ocean. Truly beautiful. It's not hard for me to figure out, but I do have a bit of an unfair advantage."

Then his gaze moves to Amy. "You don't have the energy to waste on unwinnable fights." Blue adds bluntly to Amy. The smile fades a little bit. "Your fuzzy friend is far older than you are. You should ask him about the wisdom of your course of action, if you won't listen to me." He comments as a bit of a subtle warning shot, though not of the rocket launcher kind. "I assure you, when I give Mio a direction it is with her best interests in mind. The world needs her. The sacrifice she is making is not to be ignored nor to be casually tossed aside for unimportant reasons." He looks into her eyes. "If Mio is your friend then I am your friend, I hope that is good enough for you."

"My directions remain as important as they were when I first gave them." He adds after a moment, crossing his arms.

Coco Kiumi has posed:
Coco is understanding of Amy's reasoning behind the events, she has been lonely too after losing Sara like that. "Red, I get your protectiveness of friends, believe me, I really do, but he wasn't talking about himself as the threat, so please use a bit of tact and avoid referring to him as a vindictive god even as just a possibility. I am willing to bet you don't know vindictiviness", she says, thinking about Sara's grief and Gaito's world-spanning plan. "Besides, we now know nothing is going to happen to Mio, so no need to be so harsh."

Coco looks back at Blue, eyes wide in surprise at his declaration of knowing secrets at a glance. "Oh, then you know what one of us is doing", she says, referring to Sara having gone over to Gaito's side. Desire to defend her best friend swells into her. "She is a good person still, I assure you. I will help her with what she is going through and she will go back to how she was, the good person she still is." Coco looks at Blue with a mix of determination and a plea in her eyes, wanting Sara to return safe and sound at her side.

When the fairy explains the course of events, Coco feels the need to add: "Pin pretty much said like it went, but the responsibility lies with me, so if I can make up for what happened, I am willing to do it."

Amanda Faust has posed:
Amy relaxes a bit as Blue straight-up says what she hoped most to hear: He 100% agrees that revoking Mio's powers for this would be unfair, and by implication, isn't going to.

Amy's fists tighten and she tenses up again at the attention. The judgement of an Adult who can't understand her, judging her behavior as Wrong, has always cut deep.

She should hold it in. Let the judgement and (she thinks) misunderstanding happen. No one will care or understand. No one ever does. She's old enough to know that.

    But...

Something burns inside her, hotter than it has in a long time.

'Red' stamps her foot. Cutely. "I didn't KNOW!" She shouts, righteously indignant. "A-all I knew was that that this wonderful, kind girl was *scared* that someone I didn't know might take away her ability to help people she otherwise couldn't! I-I stood by her! You're a fucking GOD, and I have NO idea what that means! If standing by her had meant... if you WERE... if trying to protect her was an unwinnable fight? If trying to stand by her was?! Then... it doesn't matter how much magic I use if I'm dead anyway! But at least I'd die knowing I, I wasn't the sort of person to abandon a friend!"

"Am I... what kind of magical girl would I be if I was?! And yet... you turned out to be pretty reasonable, but you have to turn this around on ME for some reason I don't understand!" Her voice starts to break as the frog in her throat tightens, and the tears that have been welling up in her eyes run down her cheeks. "Because you have to be the big man? Because I'm always wrong?! I'm fucking TERRIFIED standing up to a god and I did anyway! That's *courage*! I-it's supposed to be a Heroic trait! A virtue!"

And then when she can think of nothing else to go, the fire inside starts to run out of fuel. She collapses to her hands and knees, her head hanging down. She mutters, "And now I'm throwing a tantrum like a goddamn kid... I'm not... *sob* so much for a good impression... *sniff* Maybe I *am* the disgrace to magical girls here..."

Mio Morita has posed:
Mio takes a deep breath and lets out a sigh of relief. She smiles and practically jumps out of her skin over the fact that she is going to be okay. "I'm still a Pretty Cure!" She cheers happily. "I came here because I knew there was a big mirror here. Blue-sama moves through a mirror world. Its kinda cool really. I've not seen it but to move through mirrors is really cool.

She smiles and quickly hugs Amy. "Thank you for coming with me. Blue-sama is really nice. I was just worried you know? I messed up. If I could have come up with any other excuse for a laughing Plushie, I would have said it. I just didn't know what to do at that point you know?" She smiles.

She turns her attention to Blue and she smiles to him. "Umm Blue-Sama? Could you shed some light on a question that was asked earlier. What is a Cure Line?" She asks curiously.

Mochi (6) has posed:
Blue looks at Amy as she sort of loses it. He understands, though. There's no malice in his eyes, no anger. He may have made a mistake. It would not be the first mistake he made, interacting with a mortal girl. But then again, this girl may no longer be...

"I don't think you're a disgrace." He says. "Not you, not anyone here. No girl who would stand up in the face of evil... Who would stand and fight for those who cannot... Put herself at risk for the sake of others... Girls like you... Could never be a disgrace." He continues, looking at all three girls. "But it is disconcerting having one of the people who takes that responsibility on, pointing a weapon at me, when we are on the same side." He admits. "It felt much like you came ready for a fight. I hope the next time we meet, that's different? We all want the same thing - Mio to be happy and the world to be safe. Right?"

He turns to Coco. "And there's no need for you to do anything. You didn't know, and that's fine. But if you want to make up for it all I would ask is that you continue to be a good friend to the other girls. Because friendship becomes power in the hands of girls like you. It protects you and others." He adds. "People you can trust, people you can fight alongside, people who will pick you up when you are down - this can be a source of power that makes everything else weak by comparison."

"Ah, did one of the other girls mention the Cure Line?" He asks. "I haven't gotten yours ready but you may one day receive it from Pin. Think of it like a phone but for speaking from one Pretty Cure to another?" He offers. "It won't replace your own phone, though."

Coco Kiumi has posed:
Coco nods at Blue's words with a smile. "If Mio wants to become my friend, I won't ever do anything that would risk breaking it. On the matter of Cure Lines, do you need to be a Cure to get one? I think it would be convenient having that method of communication between us, especially since it was Cure Tide who first brought it up, and I don't know her civilian identity."

Amanda Faust has posed:
This is it. Mallory's hit this point a number of times before in life. Seeking understanding, he'll only be rebuffed, and make a fool of himself in the process. Even dear friends will, with disappointment in their eyes, explain how he went astray. The hug from Mio is a surprise. She startles a little, but mutters, "It's just 'cuz I'm cute now..."

And then something unprecedented and impossible happens.

The party with power and authority admits that emotions affected their behavior.

The existence of the supernatural was something Mallory could at least *imagine*. This was not.

Amy lifts her head to stare in surprise and confusion at Blue. "You..."

"You really *are* a good guy, huh?"

Amy slowly stands up. "No human I've ever met, in your position, would... thank you. I'm sorry I upset you by coming ready for a fight. I think it was a misunderstanding on both sides."

Still wondering if this is really happening, she holds out a hand towards him to shake, smiling. "Next time will be different."

Mio Morita has posed:
"Okay! I was asking because Coco brought it up." Mio comments to Blue. "I am good now. I get a cure line when I get one. I'm not worried about that right now. Right now I wanna go out and fight that guy who was dressed as a general. The one who put those people into a mirror!" She crosses her arms. "I don't care how many terribads I gotta fight, Doing that to people is just wrong. They can't go around forcing people into misfortune! I'm going to make sure people have all their hopes restored!" She smiles with fire in her eyes.

She looks at Amy, "You are alright Amanda. Don't worry. If you need to talk we can talk back at our dorm. As the sign says, 'If you are troubled, talk to someone'!" Mio grins happily, always seeming willing to help.

Mio turns her attention to Coco and her face lights up. "I would love to be friends! I need to make more friends and like Blue-Sama said, Friends make us stronger!"

Mochi (6) has posed:
Blue reaches out and shakes Amy's hand and nods. "It's a good question, about the Lines." he says as he turns to Coco. "I'll have to see what I can do. One for every magical girl and boy in Tokyo would be quite a lot. And my first duty is to the girls who have me as their primary aid and contact - many of the ones in Tokyo have others they can rely on for help, but then there are girls like Mio here, who need me to make them my priority." he admits. And it's also an admission that despite having the title of 'god' or 'kami' he is limited.

"I'm sure the Phantom Empire generals will strike again - along with other enemies with their own goals, too. I'm glad to see that you've made tough friends - if they're willing to come ready to stand up to me..." he says, with a nod at Amy "... then I think the forces of darkness stand no chance at all."

"Mmmm. I'm needed elsewhere at this time, though. I'm sorry I have to cut our visit short. It was very good to meet you two, and good to speak with you again, Mio." He bows politely before backtracking his way through the mirror and - then it's just a regular mirror once more, reflecting the three girls in the room.

Coco Kiumi has posed:
"Then we are friends! Thank you, Mio. This means a lot to me." She beams her a wide smile that would shine with utter joy.

'So he too is dividing himself thin like Aqua Regina had with the Panthalassa, their similarities go a lot deeper than expected. I guess it comes with the role.' After this consideration, Coco replies to Blue "I understand, thank you a lot for considering it". After the God goes back where he came from, Coco goes away from the Hero Club room with Mio and Amy.
