Cooking Comittee Part 1!
Date of Scene: 23 March 2024
Location: Nounamu Sweets
Synopsis: A friend gathering turns to a more formal meeting when the group realizes they're all part of the Cooking Committee for prom.
Cast of Characters: Chiyo Sakai, Bow, Ren Morimoto, Makoto Kino, Hitomi Kobe

Chiyo Sakai has posed:
Saturday morning was a nice lazy day. Not empty of customers at the shop but no one was in a rush either. They were either tired from late nights, or up early exploring and wandering to get out. It was one of Chiyo's favorite times at the shop and one she rarely got to enjoy since she was usually at school on Saturday mornings. Right now, finals were done, and there was that short break berfore the next semester began. It was the perfect time to enjoy the Spring morning.

For once she's not behind the counter but seated at one of the cafe tables inside the shop, near the window, where she could watch the shoppers come and go. She was there if needed, but Ojiisan and the part-timer had the shop running smoothly.

Instead her attention is turned to a notebook in front of her that a few items were sketched out on, recipes written in the side. A mechanical pencil with a little gem charm on the eraser cap is wiggled absently while the purple haired girl thinks.

Bow has posed:
Arriving at the shop, Bow's dressed casually - with the weather starting to warm, he's getting more used to the casual vibe - no more having to wear armor and his weapon everywhere! So, dressed in a pastel colored yellow sweatshirt that is trimmed just above his navel, blue jeans and sneakers, he makes his way into the shop.

"Chiyo, hi!" he greets the teen girl as he wanders over. "How goes?" Such a casual question, with so many connotations.

Ren Morimoto has posed:
A familiar figure passes by the shop window, staring at his phone as he walks by. And then... keeps walking. It takes a few moments before Ren appears again, this time at the door, which he pulls open and enters while his cheeks flush. "Sorry," he says as he comes inside. "I was distracted looking at recipe ideas!"

He smiles at Bow too, maybe surprised to see him, as Ren shrugs his bag off his shoulder and sets it under the table Chiyo's sitting at before he sits himself down too. Only to, after a moment, scoop his bag back up to get his own notebook and pencil case out.

Chiyo Sakai has posed:
Chiyo Sakai glances up when Bow arrives to flash him a grin. She'd started to slump a little forward on her elbows on the table so sits up properly now that she's in front of someone she knows. "Hi Bow, welcome. If you want any tea or snacks let me know," she offers with a gesture toward the table off to the side set up specifically with two large tea decanters. The type of temperature controlled dispensers with a little flip tab spout to pour into cups. "The tea is always free. Green tea on one side and citron tea on the other since it's Spring now," she offers with a grin. "Both are good I think."

Her gaze flits to the window watching the familiar red shock of Ren's hair walk on by. An eyebrow slowly lifts as she half stands to lean in closer to the window to peek out and see just where he was going. It doesn't take long though since he doubles back to enter earning a chuckle.

"It's okay. It's early still," she points out with a grin. "You're welcome to tea if you want. You two have met already right? I'm pretty sure." Her eyebrows draw together because franklys he *wasn't* sure. Maybe she needed the tea and some caffiene herself.

"Thanks for stopping by, both of you. I wanted to try out some ideas for snacks for the dance. I'm figuring things that can be eaten with toothpicks would be best to keep from getting dresses messy."

Bow has posed:
"I'll try the citron." Bow offers enthusiastically, working on making himself a cup before he comes over to join the table in a small slump. "Who knew planning a Prom was so much work." he admits with a laugh. "Last time, it was Frosta that planned all of it, after all, it was her castle. But, so far so good."

When Ren joins them, he flashes the redhead a smile. "Heya, Ren!" he greets, taking a sip of tea as he listens, adding for context, "Ren and I met on the camping trip." comes the explanation. "So... toothpick foods?" Asked curiously, he hmms. "Better than tiny cups and plates."

Ren Morimoto has posed:
When the tea is pointed out, Ren does look over at it longingly, but it's really the beautiful sweets in the display case that he really covets. But he's trying to be good, even as his stomach does a little gurgle as a "Feed me!" demand. So he just shakes his head and says, "I had a coffee this morning. But thank you!"

Well, it was coffee in the sense that there was definitely some coffee in there along with all the sugary syrups and sauces and whipped cream. So he's probably had his fill of caffeine-related calories by now. Even if the tea probably has limited amounts of those.

"Hello! I had some fancy appetizer ideas to try and fit the theme... you know they make edible glitter and gold leaf, yeah?" Ren grins. "We have to make treats fit for royalty after all!"

Chiyo Sakai has posed:
Gurgle? That little stolen look toward the snack case as well as the unmistakeable sound of tummy grumblings was something that Chiyo recognized all too well. It was hard for people not to get hungry in this shop. That was part of it's success.

A little scooch of her chair backwards lets her stand as she calls out, "Ojiisan, can we have a sample plate?" The gruff old man behind the counter looks over to squint at Ren... Then Bow. Oh my BOW gets SQUINTED at really hard, maybe due to his lack of half a shirt, before he just gives a slooooow noooood. Was he assessing them? He certainly was. At least for a few moments, then he moves about getting some things from the case putting together items on a tray while Chiyo refills her own tea and returns to the table.

A moment later Ojiisan swings by the table to drop off a tray with a mutter of, "These were about to go stale. We don't need them." Then he's off back behind the counter again.

The 'almost stale' plate of treats did not look the least bit stale or old or even mis-shaped. It's piled high with several types of daifuku, several mochi donut rings, and even some Korean style tanghulu strawberry fruit skewers. It's a *lot* of delicious looking items.

"Help yourselves. I was actually thinking of the candied fruit as an option for snacks... And edible gold foil is a thing, yes, but it doesn't add any flavor so it's best to use it sparingly or it gets expensive," she warns Ren with a grin. "But it *can* make things look really amazing with just a bit of it."

Makoto Kino has posed:
The door from street swings open and Makoto bustles in, dressed down in jeans, a yellow t-shirt, and an old Team Instinct hoodie. "Sorry if I'm late," she says, before pausing to bow to Ojiisan. "Hello, Sakai-san! I hope you're doing well!"

She scoots over to where Chiyo, Ren, and Bow are gathered, and finds a place to tuck her bag out of the way. The plate on the table immediately draws her attention, and she lets out a quiet 'ooooh'. "Those look really good. The candied fruit is so pretty, almost like gems."

Hitomi Kobe has posed:
Following Makoto in from the street with a familiar motorcycle helmet tucked under one arm is Osaka-born transfer student Hitome Kobe, pulling her hair out of a low ponytail, with a backpack slung over her shoulder. Shepauses a moment, looking to the candies, the crowd, and she leans back on her heels a moment as her eyes narrow, her eyebrows rising up as she tries to judge if she should flee this interaction.

"Ah.... good morning everyone...." she trails off awkwardly.

Bow has posed:
Bow is free to express himself as he sees fit. And his seeing fit is by letting the world know he has glorious abs that are firmer than a Hershey's bar and just as chocolate colored. As he sips from the tea, he lets out a breath and smacks his lips. "Oh, this is delicious." he coos, warmth in his voice as the sample tray goes out. And the stales.

"So, finger foods clearly. The last one I went to had tiny cakes. They were delicious, but to be fair, still... tiny cakes." And he's snacking on some of the treats. "Anyway, I'm pretty easy on this front. I like food. I think everyone likes food. So, feel free to get creative!"

He's totally here just to snack on samples and drink tea, isn't he?

Ren Morimoto has posed:
Do Ren's eyes go wide as he's squinted at? Yes. Do they go even wider when Ojiisan brings over a wonderful tray of delicious things, all of which make Ren's mouth water? You bet they do! He clasps his hands together with a murmured thanks and then, looking back and forth at the others at the table, carefully selects one of the mochi donut rings for himself.

Though he does look interestedly at the tanghulu. "If we did these one to a skewer, we could dust them with edible glitter and serve them at the dance," he suggests. Then he, minding his manners, takes a nibble of his donut.

And then Ren sighs happily, his stomach knowing it is about to be (temporarily) appeased. "These are so good," he says, voice thick with emotion, before taking another bite.

To the newcomers, Makoto and Hitomi, he turns around in his chair to smile at them and offer a beckoning wave in, especially to Hitomi who seems to be hesitating. "I found this furikake that has little flecks of edible gold flake in it, online! I... may have already ordered some. For testing."

Chiyo Sakai has posed:
Chiyo Sakai smiles warmly when Makoto comes in as well, followed soon after by Hitomi. "Welcome! No worries, it's early still. We're just getting settled in. Feel free to grab some tea if you'd like. Green and citron," she explains in a way that seems as if she might explain this often. Then again she did work here so... it was possible.

"Does everyone know each other? Ren, Bow, this is my friend Makoto-chan. Hitomi-chan, grab a seat too."

"I have plenty of edible glitter. I use some for the crystal lollipops I make so it'd be easy to add some to whatever I bring."

Ojiisan looks over at Makoto's question to give a nod and a gruff remark of, "Still alive and kicking." Which was pretty good of a response, really.

Bow has posed:
When Makoto arrives, Bow offers her a smile and a nod of his head. "Hello, Makoto!" he greets, and then for Chiyo's benefit, explains. "Makoto is Adora's roommate, and Adora and I were friends back home, so Makoto helped me when she went missing from the school recently." That's the easiest way to explain that whole episode, though Hitomi he recognizes from. "And Hitomi and I tried out for the Kyudo team. She scored way better than I did."

Another treat popped into his mouth as he listens to the discussion. "So... the only reason I'm really here is because I need to know the cost so I can report it to Cho and Coco, mainly because Coco is funding about ... eighty percent of the whole thing."

Makoto Kino has posed:
"This doesn't even need glitter, though," Makoto protests, reaching to pick out one of the strawberry tanghulu skewers and hold it up in the light. "The sugar coating is already sparkly."

With the candied fruit skewer still pinched between her fingertips, she looks up, hastily scooting side to make room for Hitomi as she nods to Bow. "I met Ren-kun the one time too, I think," she says. "It's good to see you both again... and it's nice to meet you, Hitomi-chan."

She'll go and get herself some citron tea before settling into a seat and nibbling on the tanghulu. "For my part, I figure I ought to stick to baking, since it's something I can do in the kitchen at the dorms. There's plenty of things that are easy enough to do in big batches, though anything involving fancy decorating will take more time..."

Hitomi Kobe has posed:
"The only reason you didn't score high was because the bow was as tall as you, Luke-san, and you weren't used to them. If you want we can do some training on the archery course so that next try-out you'll hit a bullseye every time." Hitomi gently replies to Bow, and she greatfully sits with the group, and reaches for one of the candies.

"I'm not sure about eating gold. That seems to be kind of... I mean... a lot." she considers, and gives a small, wry smile. "I COULD ask some of my family if they'd bring some food carts... but I don't think Osaka street-fare is Princess-worthy..." she murmurs, and then her shoulders slack a little bit "and adding glitter to fried foods just wrecks the food... and they're probably still recovering from --" she cuts off suddenly, and seems to remember her manners.

"It's nice to meet you Makoto-san, please don't mind me." she waves off her bad manners and mumbling, and then hides behind a handfull of sweets stuffed into her mouth so that she doesn't have to talk.

Ren Morimoto has posed:
"Maybe some pearl luster then?" Ren suggests, of the tanghulu. He's clearly of the mindset that everything must be extra shiny and sparkly to fit the theme. Or he's just a maximalist. Who knows!

He nods when Makoto says they've met before, and adds, "It was here I think, too! But Nounamu is so busy I understand why it'd be hard to remember." Ren smiles at Chiyo, fondly. Then he takes another bite of his mochi donut.

"Fried foods could work if we cut the pieces down small enough, I just worry about things sitting out too long and getting soggy." He looks to Hitomi about that, though, deferring to what he's assuming is her area of expertise (if he only knew!). "Well labor is a big part of costs when it comes to these sorts of things, and since we're volunteering hopefully that part will stay down... maybe we should try to assembly-line things, to make it easier on all of us! Rather than each of us being responsible for one thing, we work collaboratively together?" At Makoto's mention of baking, he adds, "Like cake decorating!"

Chiyo Sakai has posed:
Chiyo Sakai smilese a bit at the different discussions on decorating. "Honestly a good way to make something look fancy is to *not* overdo the decorating. You're right, the candy looks nice enough by itself. If I were to add any it'd just be a little dot or two of gold or maybe some shimmer on the fruit before dipping so it shines through the sugar too." She's thinking if that would work or not... But shakes her head a bit.

Hitomi's mention of the street food earns a grin. "I was just saying that I was going to try to keep my snacks down to ones that could be served with toothpicks or skewers to make it easier to eat without getting things messy. A lot of street food uses skewers, too, right? Besides, not everyone will want to just have sweets so I'm sure what you and Ren could bring would be a very welcome change of pace."

A glance is cast toward Makoto, "We're not really a bakery, but we have ovens in the back and Ojiisan is okay with us using the shop to prep items for it so long as we clean up after. If that would make it easier for your cakes?"

Bow has posed:
"I think it would be a good idea to have a good sampling of finger foods!" Bow agrees eagerly, a glance to Hitomi. "I'll take you up on those lessons sometime - oh by the way, most folks just call me Bow." He doesn't divulge because it's because he likes violins, archery and presents, that's a whole other conversation.

"We could have... maybe a small set up either just outside the venue - like, on the patio or something?" he suggests, throwing that idea out there. "I'm still waiting to talk to Usagi and the decorating committee on what their plan is, but once I have that, we'll have a better idea of what we're working with."

Makoto Kino has posed:
Makoto looks towards Hitomi with lifted brows, eyes widening. "We're going to want some salty and savory things too," she puts in; "it can't be all sweets. And a lot of street foods and festival foods are also made to be eaten with your hands, so isn't that actually great for something like a dance?"

Ren's suggestion of cooperating on decoration tasks has her nodding along in agreement. "That's a good idea, too, especially for anything that can't be made too far in advance... which is probably going to be a lot of it," she adds with a rueful laugh. "If we can pick out at least a few options that will keep for a while, and make them up earlier, that'd help on labor as well, but..." The pitfalls of working with food.

Chiyo's offer has her brightening back up. "That'd be great," she says. "The dorm oven is all right, but there's no way yours isn't better, and if we'll be prepping here anyway it makes sense to have it in the same place--" She cuts herself off to give Ojiisan a grateful inclination of her head. "I still have to think about what to bake, though. If it's cake it should be individual sized. Petits fours are pretty, and they'd complement your sweets... I kind of wish I had a cookie press," she laments, "but there's plenty I can do with the right pastry bag tip, so I'll manage."

Hitomi Kobe has posed:
"That may be true, but ah... street food is kind of the opposite of princess palate, isn't it? You want all this dainty stuff -- "she picks up one of the skewered candied fruits, "Instead of battered-and-deep-fried octopus or deep-fried chicken skins and okonomiyaki and savory dumplings on sticks... it just doesn't seem fancy enough for a prom to me. But -- I did write to my brothers. Three of them offered to attach the carts to their motorcycles and ride all the way here with them!" she states quietly, and then rubs the back of her head as she considers. "... but they're also kind of rough and tumble and grease-stained jackets is no wear for a prom..." she considers, and then she gives a soft huff.

"Is there a culinary academy that might lend us their ovens for baking?" she considers. "Or maybe rent a --" she holds her hands up, pointing her index fingers at one another and rolls them making a 'whrrrrrrrrrrr' noise. "Converyer belt oven?"

Ren Morimoto has posed:
Ren has, in the meantime, finished his donut. And if he wants anything else he's doing an admirable job of not showing it, even if his stomach is bound to object soon. But for now he's focused on the task, and food is far from his mind.

Er, eating it, at least. Food for the prom is definitely on the forefront, here.

"You can classy up anything! I was thinking we could do some kind of chicken, like... maybe salted chicken wing lollipops, or... karaage bites?" He rests his chin in his hand. "Once my furikake order gets in, I'll test some stuff out and bring it to our committee meeting so we can decide if it's worthy of a prince and princess prom." Looking to Bow then, Ren frowns slightly. "Yeah I suppose it would be a good idea to figure out what space we have available... we don't want to bring too much, or not enough..."

As he trails off, he pulls out his phone and shoots off a quick text, then says to Makoto, "I'll see if we have a cookie press at home. My dad collects every cooking gadget in the world, so chances are we might have one!"

Chiyo Sakai has posed:
"Oh, and if you need help with the baking, Katsumi-kun at school is a baker too. He helped make valentines cookies for a lot of the girls," Chiyo recalls trying to be helpful.

The talk continues, and she leans back in her chair looking a bit bemused. "Hitomi-chan, look at what I have here." The plate that's in the center of the table is reached for to nudge closer to the younger girl. "Mochi is pounded sweet sticky rice with a bit of sugar. The filling is usually fruit, or sweet bean paste. These are very basic ingredients, it's just the time to prepare it and make it look nice that makes it look like more than it's ingredients."

A glance is cast toward Bow and the others as if seeking their back up on what she says next. "The dance is themed as prince, and princess, but it's really just an excuse to dress up nicely and have fun and enjoy ourselves, right? It's not really about trying to be wealthy. Just having fun. Besides," sitting back in her chair she grins. "You're serving Osaka street food. That's not something we can get every day here. The novelty alone is going to make people want to try it."

There's a pause as she seems to chew on what she might say next. A little tinge of color come to her cheeks as she mumbles, "Plus Isekai manga is *really* popular right now, and there's always a scene where the person that got reborn into a life of royalty sneaks out to enjoy a regular street fair and enjoy the food there. It's always the simple, delicious things they go for. So ... um," her gaze ducks down, still a bit embarassed at mentioning her manga obsession. "I'm just saying that your brothers being 'not fancy' isn't necessarily a *bad* thing in this case."

Bow has posed:
"Which reminds me!" Bow comments as Hitomi brings it up. "I do not want any of you that may have dates setting those aside so that you can work on food. If at all possible, I'd perfer if we had it done day of and had volunteers helping with the serving that want to volunteer. No setting aside your evening in order to help, if you can."

There's a snap of his fingers, and he's pointing between Ren and Chiyo. "They've got the right of it. I think we can make it work, and lets be honest - we're all a bunch of hungry students, we could call it the King's Chicken from a fast food restaurant, and they'd probably eat it." A pause. "Not a suggestion, and the food being suggested here is way better."

"This is supposed to be fun for everyone. I don't want anyone stressing themselves out or overworking." A bright smile offered. "I'm excluded from that, because it's how I operate best." A wink.

Makoto Kino has posed:
Makoto finishes off the candied strawberries and nods vigorously along with Chiyo and Bow's words. "Don't overthink it," she suggests to Hitomi with a friendly smile. "Before anything else, we want people to enjoy the food, right? And if I know this school, we're gonna have some hungry people. Making it fancy is great and all, but the most important thing is to have snacks people will like to eat."

Ren's offer gets a bright, hopeful look. "Oh, that'd be great. I mean if they don't have one don't worry about it, but if you do happen to have one and I can borrow it, that would be amazing."

Hitomi Kobe has posed:
"... I don't think anyone would want to date me, so that's not a worry!" Hitomi replies to Bow with a wry grin. "The other day someone called me uncouth!" she gives a comically large frown, "I said I couldn't be, since I didn't know what was couth in the first place!" she states, and crosses her arms behind her head -- unfortunately she still has her motorcycle helmet in hand, and whacks herself with it!

    Owow ow ow ow!"

Ren Morimoto has posed:
"Yeahhhhh I don't have a date either," Ren admits, staring down at the table top rather than chancing a glance at anyone. "So if not for volunteering for this, I wouldn't go at all. I don't mind, though!" His expression brightens. "I love cooking for people! And with Hitomi-chan's help it sounds like we could offer some really fresh stuff for the savory side of things. I'm excited for that. We'll have to chat more about it, especially if your brothers are okay with coming to help."

His phone pings, and he checks it, though quickly so as to not seem rude. "My sister says she thinks we have one. It'll just be a matter of finding it in all of the bins! But I'll do that tonight and get the cookie press to you right away, Makoto-chan," he promises, flashing her a thumbs up.

Right before he winces in sympathy as Hitomi knocks herself upside the head with her helmet. Ouch!

Chiyo Sakai has posed:
"Oh, I'm not attending as a guest," Chiyo adds while looking down to make a few quick notes on her notepad about further ideas. "Do we have any idea how many people are coming? It'll be important to consider with how much we're making. Though with us all doing something, it'll help a lot, too," she rattles off quickly to avoid answering any further questions. For reasons.

Ren helping Makoto out with the cookie press gets an easy smile from her though. "Oh, perfect. Um, I don't have that kind of a roller oven but we can use the ovens here for you too, Hitomi-chan, if you need." Only for the accidental hit of her helmet to garner a wince. "Are you okay? I can grab you some ice," sheo ffers.

Bow has posed:
"There's still some time, don't give up yet." Bow offers encouragingly, but then Hitomi whacks herself. Ren and Chiyo seem to have it handled, but he's looking towards the girl in concern, before the question is caught.

"Rough estimate? Considering the size of the school and it's being kept to mostly the high school ages? Probably anywhere from 350 to 500 from my best guess?" All those NPCs need to be represented, after all!

Makoto Kino has posed:
Makoto also winces in sympathy when Hitomi accidentally clocks herself with the helmet. Chiyo's offering ice, so she doesn't draw any further attention to it, and instead shakes her head: "I don't have a date either," she admits ruefully. "I wasn't really planning to, so it's fine."

Bow's estimate of the likely attendance has her eyes getting big. "...okay, so we definitely shouldn't get too ambitious with things that need to be hand decorated," she says, voice hitching with suppressed laughter. "That cookie press will help a lot for sure. Drizzled glazes, sugar dusting, or that edible glitter..." Chewing thoughtfully on her lower lip, she reaches to dig into her bag for a notepad and her Jupiter henshin pen. Which she uncaps to begin making some notes. The ink is green.

Hitomi Kobe has posed:
"Psh that's... like... four yards of... chicken feathers ..." Hitomi drawls off a moment. Her eyes narrow, and she takes a deep breath, and then shakes her head out.

"No no for my stuff I need deep wells of hot oil glistening in the electric lights of the party life." AND VENGEANCE! "If my brothers end up dropping off the carts, we keep them neat and clean enough that they should be ready to be loaded with ingredients." Hitomi explains, and then she stretches one shoulder. "And I'm all right, got a hard head an' it's mostly hollow anyway except for hot oil and math. Jus' didn't sleep good last night." she explains -- and grabs another couple of candies. "Thank you for the candy Chiyo's oji-san!" she calls out, and gives a brief nod to everyone, and then she fiddles, grabbing a sticky note from her bag and a pen, and she jots down her number, then hands it to Bow.

"For planing purposes. An' if you wanna do some practice sometime." she states, and with a flurish, and almost hitting herself in the head again, she turns to make her exit.

Ren Morimoto has posed:
That number is staggering, and Ren falls back into his chair a little, eyebrows up. "Whew. Yeah, that's... gonna be a lot. Definitely will have to work together once we've figured out a menu," he says, trying to plan ahead. Even simplifying recipes he had in mind already, would definitely help.

He shakes off Bow's encouragement about finding dates, and recommits to the Plan by also flipping open his notebook and pulling out a pen from his pencil case, nodding at Makoto as she begins to write. "I'm thinking maybe 2-3 savory things and the same amount of sweet things, just to keep the numbers down on how many different things we have to make." He pauses in his writing to wave goodbye to Hitomi, and makes a mental note to get her number from Bow so as to coordinate on the fried foods front.

"Chiyo-senpai, I think I'll defer to you on using space here. There's my father's kitchen, but... he wouldn't be thrilled about a bunch of teenagers trying to use it." Just the thought makes the color drain from his face, and so Ren turns down to stare at his notebook, scribbling furiously about some recipe idea or another.

Chiyo Sakai has posed:
Chiyo Sakai doesn't blink at the amount but she was also expecting a large amount. The good thing about candy was it was small and you could make lots at once. It would make it harder for cakes, cookies and savory items though.

She only falters when Hitomi leaves with a small frown of concern. "Hope she's okay."

Back to the topic at hand though she nods with a grin. "Okay. We have a rather large kitchen area in the back but most of our stuff is fresh made. It's only for holidays and other events that we really need to use the majority of the kitchen so we'll have some room. We have two large stainless steel prep tables, a double oven, a brick oven that we don't always use but is available. The walk-in freezer and two regular refridgerators."

Frowning in thought she considers, "If that's not enough maybe we could see about using the school kitchen facilities, too? They have to have a larger area, easily."

Bow has posed:
There's a nod to Chiyo as Bow takes Hitomi's number to enter into his phone. "I'll contact her later and see if she's feeling okay." he offers up as he listens to the others. "If we need to use the school facilities, I'll need to contact the student council for permission, but I don't think they'll have an issue." But with everyone taking notes, he makes a few of his own.

"I know we had a meeting scheduled for Monday, but we made a lot of headway here - do you think we should still meet then, or does everyone have enough to work with? If anything, we could meet to finalize the menu - or do that via group text, whichever is easier!"

Makoto Kino has posed:
"It's worth asking," Makoto agrees, regarding using school facilities. "Plus if we can use the school's stuff, then we won't have to transport things as far..."

There's a pause while she collects her thoughts, before she looks up from her notepad. "I'm good other way," she answers Bow, a little hesitantly, "but since we'd already scheduled the meeting, if there's time... it might be a good chance for each of us to try making up some samples? See how things work, and what people like?"

Ren Morimoto has posed:
After hearing what facilities Chiyo and her ojiisan have in the back, Ren pipes up with, "Maybe the school facilities are best. They probably have a flat top we could use, and fryers too." Though he looks around the sweets store, silently wishing they could use the kitchen here if only to be nearer to a source of mochi donuts.

He nods to Makoto, to agree with her suggestion of samples. "I should be getting the furikake today! It says it's out for delivery. So I can have samples ready for Monday, and you can all help me pick which ones are best."

He nudges Chiyo in the side lightly. "I promise not to eat everything you bring, too,"he adds, smiling cheekily.

Chiyo Sakai has posed:
"I think that's a good idea. It always helps to get a little feedback, and we can touch base in case any other issues pop up that we need to discuss," Chiyo agrees with Makoto about meeting up on Monday. "Though you guys have probably tasted most of mine already unless I come up with a new recipe." Hm. Thoughts.

The nudge to her side earns a grin at Ren only to chuckle. "At least this time I'll get to taste some of what you make, too!" She shoots back with a grin. Her own notes are done for now so she closes her notebook. "I think this did help a lot though for giving ideas, and at least deciding what we'll need to make this work."

Bow has posed:
