Tinyplot: Princes and Princesses Prom

Chiyo Sakai has posed:
The prom had winded down. Those that had been on the entertainment committee were long gone. The decoration committee was going to clean up the next day. Those that had been there for the food committee though? That was not something that could be left till next day, at least not without putting the items away first.

The fried food vendors that were Hitomi's brothers wrapped up rather quickly with all of them chipping in. The baked goods were mostly wiped out, and that left the candy.

A few lingering people still mill around talking but most were on their way out the door besides Chiyo. Stacking up what was left on trays she cleans and tidies trying to hurry so that she, too, could try to head out. Though she occasionally does pause to glance at her phone with a thoughtful frown as she'd lost sight of her date awhile ago when she was restocking things. Quite awhile ago.

Ikuto Tsukiyomi has posed:
Ikuto was pretty embarrassed. When Yuki had come over and they'd gone off to dance, he'd sort of...lost track of time after they went to look at the moon from higher up. Now he was heading back down with her, hoping his date wasn't -too- upset if she was still around. Especially now that the place was mostly empty.

He looked around, hoping he hadn't made a mess of things.

Yuki Hoshino has posed:
Yuki had her dance with Ikuto, her chance to properly meet the boy who'd saved her at the museum. lLooking at the moon was certainly a pleasant moment, and she'd found herself leaning against him in the cool evening air. Then her stomach had rumbled, reminding her that she had skipped over the dinner options available at the event... "Shall we head down and find something to eat/' she asks, quietly, and the pair start down. Only to find the cleanup already in process....

Chiyo Sakai has posed:
Chiyo Sakai lifts a stack of three stainless steel trays still with a collection of tanghulu strawberry and madarin orange slices to move toward a cooler pack meant for transporting food without damage. Just as she turns toward it she catches sight of the white-suited boy walking next to Yuki. She pauses, an eyebrow raising slowly at the pair as she just watches them. Without a word.

The urge to say something was there of course. Like 'where were you?' or 'We never did get that dance' but she holds her tongue and her breath. Let him speak first.

Ikuto Tsukiyomi has posed:
Theeeere Chiyo is. And he can tell she's not particularly happy to see him with another girl. Why would she be? He -did- sort of just vanish after losing track of her. "Chiyo-chan! I'm sorry, I lost track of you earlier. This is a friend of mine, Yuki-chan. She didn't come with anyone, and asked me to dance. I would've asked you to come look at the moon with us, but I didn't see you around. Do you need any help with those trays?"

He could tell she was handling the trays just fine, but he felt -really- bad now. There was no denying that he'd screwed up pretty bad here, and all the catboy could do was try and salvage this, hoping Yuki would pick up on how precarious this situation was. Wasn't this quite similar to the incident that he was trying to make Chiyo -forget- about in the first place?

Yoru was heading back to Ikuto after showing Sugata the video he'd gotten of Wako's stage dive. When he saw that Ikuto was now standing with two girls nearby he floated down to a table and peeked over a tray, watching instead. That boy really was dense sometimes, huh?

Yuki Hoshino has posed:
yuki pauses at the bottom of the stairs, stepping out of the way so Ikuto can pass her. Seeing the food already being packed away, she sighs and shakes her head. ... and Ikuto heads immediately for another girl. Well, it's not like she was *interested* in the boy, right?

She walks over, less hurriedly, the skirts of her fancy dress flaring around her legs. With a little luck, she can still fill a plate...

Chiyo Sakai has posed:
Chiyo Sakai blinks finally after having stared for a good few moments, and she glances down at the trays in her hands with a sigh. Even as he starts to offer to help she just turns to put them back down on the table.

"There's still some candied fruit, and daifuku if you want," she offers to the pair. It was impossible for her to miss the way Yuki was looking around at all the areas where the food had been. Some was still out of course, but it had been picked through rather well and many had taken some to-go for people who couldn't be here. "Help yourselves."

Stepping back she drops her hands about to dust her hands off on her skirt only to freeze. This was the nice dress she was wearing at the moment, not the smock apron she'd worn over it earlier when setting up. Her fingers curl to avoid ruining the dress.

"Watching the moon isn't something you usually do with *two* girls, Ikuto-kun." Her jaw clenches a little as she just lifts a hand to pinch at the bridge of her nose. "This is starting to become a bad habit."

Ikuto Tsukiyomi has posed:
He's very close to freezing up in horror at what he can tell he's done now. This wasn't how this was supposed to go, at all. He'd told himself he was going to make this a good night for Chiyo, and now he was pretty close to making it a nightmare instead. Ikuto noticed Yoru standing on one of the tables, watching him. The little Chara was giving him a look, and kind of a mean one at that. It was a look he'd very rarely had to give the human boy, but that made it all the more effective. The look of disappointment. Of knowing Ikuto could do better. Had to do better if he wanted to fulfill his promises to himself.

"I'm sorry, Chiyo-chan. I...should have thought a lot more about what I was doing. You're deserving of far better treatment than this. Truthfully, I danced with Yuki-chan because we met once during a fight with Sunbreaker at the museum. You uh, might've heard about it on the news since there was some damage to the space exhibit. We never got a chance to properly introduce ourselves after that." He looks over to Yuki over at the tables. "I think you two would get along pretty well. I promise you, she wasn't trying to drag me off or anything, and I wasn't trying to abandon you."

Yuki Hoshino has posed:
Yuki offers Chiyo a pleasant nod and a soft "Thank you" as she takes a plate and starts to fill it. She only listens with half an ear at first not wanting to interfere with a personal conversation after Chiyo chides Ikuto for going off with her. Best to let her finish before speaking up. 5r
Then Ikuto brings up the museum fight. Which means that whoever this girl is, she's in the know. She looks up to meet Chiyo's gaze and adds, quietly, "He probably saved my life back there." She sighs softly. "It's a pleasure to meet you, ojou-san, but I believe I should not intrude on this conversation further." Unless someone asks her to, that is.

Chiyo Sakai has posed:
Chiyo Sakai rolls her eyes a bit though it's at the mention of Sunbreaker. Because *of course* somehow, some way, Sunbreaker would always come up after some short time period in her life. "I know who Sunbreaker is. She almost killed Ojiisan once. I put her through the street." There was more to it than that but right now the thought of venting some frustration was... well. Not that bad a thought.

At Yuki's greeting she can only offer a tired smile, and sigh softly. "It's fine. It was just a pity date anyway, right, Ikuto-kun? He felt guilty because his sister interrupted my date with someone awhile back. ... Saw them together tonight, too, so guess that went how I thought it would," she has to admit with a stiff shrug as she tries to pretend she wasn't a bit sore over that.

Instead she changes the subject. "I'm Chiyo Sakai," she offers over with a nod. "Enjoy your treats. You two look good together."

Ikuto Tsukiyomi has posed:
Ikuto blinks. "It wasn't a pity date, Chiyo-chan. When I decided I wanted to come to this dance I thought about who to ask pretty carefully, and you were the person who came to mind. If I was just pitying you, why would I bring you to the very same event where my sister was going to perform knowing that we might run into her? It would have made more sense to ask you out on a date elsewhere tonight if the goal was -just- to make you feel better about what she did. Have you perhaps considered that...I find you interesting, and wanted to spend time with you so I could get to know the person whose presence seems to get my sister so angry?"

He looks to Yuki, then to Chiyo. "Both of you have my sincere apologies. This was supposed to be a magical night, and here I am messing it up for two wonderful girls. Chiyo-chan. Yuki-chan. Neither of you are a 'backup' or 'second choice'. You're both amazing." Yoru knows when he's needed, and floats over. "Ikuto is just -stupid- nya. Take it from me; he doesn't know how to handle himself around girls he likes."

Yuki Hoshino has posed:
"yuki Hoshino," the girl in the blue dress replies. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Sakai-san, and I apologize if anything seemed... untoward. If I had known Tsukuyomi-san was not alone tonight..."

Yep. Someone did not think things through -at all- here, folks.

She's not going to push. Wouldn't be right. Nor is she going to deny Ikuto's idiocy. Instead, she tries one of the tidbits she's loaded her plate with and smiles. "Mmm. These are quite good."

Chiyo Sakai has posed:
Chiyo Sakai pauses as Ikuto starts to go on with apologizing, and complimenting them both. And slowly she opens her mouth... Then shuts it with a little look of confusion flitting over her face. But it's moreso when Yuki speaks.

She looks to the girl, murmering a quick, "Thanks, they're from my Ojiisan's shop," in regards to the sweets. But then she looks to Ikuto again with a raised eyebrow.

"You didn't tell her you'd asked me here, huh?" Wow. Yeah. She shares a look with Yuki a moment giving a small nod, and she turns away with a sigh. At least this time it wasn't really ... well. It was a bit different.

"Thank you for the compliment. It's okay though. It's not like we even had a chance to dance ourselves. We just met, talked awhile. So yes you asked me here, but I guess it didn't quite work out anyway. I was mostly working since I was on the refreshment committee."

Ikuto Tsukiyomi has posed:
If ever there was a moment in his life where Ikuto felt as tall as Yoru, it was right now. This was bad. Really bad. He'd -forgotten to tell Yuki that Chiyo was his date-. Yoru does the only thing he can to try and save the tiniest amount of dignity the catboy might still have. He floats over and starts bapping Ikuto on the head. It's really not painful because Yoru is still quite small and not physically strong, but Ikuto winces regardless. "You IDIOT, you didn't even-! No wonder you've never had a date in your life before tonight, nya! You're hopeless!"

Ikuto wants to speak up for himself, but he's pretty sure there's really nothing he could say to make this better. He glances to Yuki, thoroughly embarrassed and...ashamed.

Yuki Hoshino has posed:
Yuki nods. "Boys," she mutters. "Well, i'll definitely have to visit the shop, sakai-san. Thank you." She nibbles on another sweet while the two continue to talk, then pauses as an idea comes to her.

"You know, the band may have retired for the evening, but that does not mean you cannot dance.' She plucks the octagonal brooch from her top and sets it on the table, then fiddles with her phone for a moment. The device proves to be capable of acting as quite a good speaker for the slow waltz music that starts to play from the phone.

"now then, Tsukuyomi-kun, I believe you owe this young lady a dance or six."

Chiyo Sakai has posed:
Chiyo Sakai has to nod a bit in agreement at Yuki's remark of 'boys' given her own luck with them recently. She tucks the trays she'd originally been packing into the carry bag now that Yuki has had her fill of what was there.

When she pulls out her phone and what appears to be a speaker she turns to blink at the device with a sudden flush of color rising to her cheeks. "No, it's... It's okay, really. I got a dance with Bow and my cousin in. And Ikuto--" He had played his violin for her. That had been sweet. Almost romantic. Or at least that's what she'd thought at the time, but now she was faced with him meeting Yuki, dancing with her, and watching the moon with her while losing track of time. Saying what he had done for her for the evening seemed as if it would only dig the boy deeper into the hole he had created.

And ultimately she didn't realy want to get in the way of someone else's romance, even if it wasn't with her.

A reassuring smile is offered as she shakes her head again a single time. "It's okay. It was a good evening."

Ikuto Tsukiyomi has posed:
Ikuto offers his hand despite Chiyo's reassurance. "I won't press the matter if you really don't want to, but...for what it's worth, I'd regret it if I didn't dance with you at least once tonight. I've embarrassed myself quite a bit tonight, and, well. If nothing else I want you to know that there's no malice involved here. While it might be better in the end if we weren't 'together' because of my sister's...personality, I um. Chiyo-chan, I do want you to know that if you ever need help with anything, you can call upon me. I'd like to be friends."

He glances to Yuki, thankful for her intervention. He owed her bigtime for trying to keep him from completely sinking here.

Yuki Hoshino has posed:
yuki nods and smiles slightly. she waves her hand at the pair. 'I'm going to sit here and eat. you two are going to dance. And tsukuyomi-kun is going to make sure you enjoy it."

she picks up another trifle and considers it, but before taking a bite, she adds, "You are owed more than just an apology, Sakai-san. Please... enjoy yourself. Step on his feet a few times."

Chiyo Sakai has posed:
Chiyo Sakai glances between the pair only a moment longer. A soft breath is let out, and she reaches to take Ikuto's hand looking just a it embarassed still. Less so than before, at least, and she'd gotten out of her head a bit about the similarities between this night and the last 'date' she'd had.

"Okay, one dance," she agrees with a soft chuckle. "But then it is late and I'm sure everyone should probably get home, before it gets too late." Pausing she remarks, "Or dorms."

Ikuto Tsukiyomi has posed:
Ikuto smiles, leading Chiyo in a slow and relaxed dance. He was at least taught enough as a child that he could handle himself pretty well in that regard. When your father plays classical instruments for a living, it's good to know how to dance to such music for when he plays at functions for important people.

"Home, huh? Haven't been there in a long while. Kinda hard when doing so risks getting jumped by my step-father's goons, human and youma alike."

Yuki Hoshino has posed:
Yuki nods and smiles, settling back in her seat to watch the pair dance and enjoy her plateful of sweets. The music plays on, but she has nothing further to say - no wish to disturb the pair. (Indeed, she might well have a book to read on her phone...)

Chiyo Sakai has posed:
"I'm sure you'll find a place somewhere that you can rest at least," Chiyo responds with a little smile, trying to cheer up a bit. At least it was an easy enough dance. She wasn't a *great* dancer, really, having not had a lot of experience. There's no toe stepping at least. Just a few bumps or mis-steps before getting into the movements after a moment.

"... I really am okay, though. I mean it sounds like you had a good time. I guess that's really what's important over all."

The song starts to wind down so she steps away with a little nod. "Thank you, Ikuto. If you ever need help as well..." He didn't know her identity. She kept it secret, mostly, and unlike Chara Bearers it wasn't obvious when she transformed. "I'm Culinary Guardian Daifuku. When I cook while transformed what I make can heal, revive and purify. So if you need anything in that regards I can help." A pause and she adds, "Nurse Meiou keeps some of my treats on hand though, too."

Ikuto Tsukiyomi has posed:
Ikuto nods. "I'll definitely keep that in mind. I'm planning to make a move against The Easter Company soon. A big move. Do be careful when dealing with them, though. They're poking into things they really shouldn't be." He continues the dance, grinning at the very slight mistakes Chiyo makes early on. "It gets easier with time. When I was first learning I had to dance with the eldest daughter of the Prime Minister once, and we both stepped on each other's toes and fell over. My father was so embarrassed he stopped playing, and the Prime Minister himself looked like he was about to come strangle me. Then the older girl just started laughing, and soon half the room was laughing with her."

Chiyo Sakai has posed:
Chiyo Sakai chuckles softly as he recounts the past dance with a nod of amusement. "That sounds like it would have been a bit embarassing. Thankfully the girl soundsd like she was a good sport." A deep breath is drawn, and she nudges Ikuto away, back toward Yuki.

"Speaking of. Go on. Walk her home, or there's this late night ramen shop ontop of a building nearby if you're both still hungry," she suggests trying to be helpful. "Thank you for the dance." Looking to Yuki she smiles as well, "And thanks for the music."

Yuki Hoshino has posed:
Yuki is ready to cue up another song, but it seems the time has come for more discussion. Still, it seems like it would not do to interrupt them. Besides, the sweets are sooooo good. 5R
then Chiyo speaks of walking home, drawing her back in. "That won't be necessary, Sakai-san. My dorm room isn't that far, and I believe that such considerations are best paid to the party one *invited*, rather than - how did that one girl put it - an annoying buttinsky." She shrugs casually, then rises from her seat to retrieve her phone and Device.

"Have a good evening."

Ikuto Tsukiyomi has posed:
Yoru nudges Ikuto. Ikuto nudges him back. He knows, jeez.

He looks between the two. "If you're staying at the dorms, then I'll walk Chi-chan home. I can only imagine what your family would think if you didn't get walked home by your date at this hour."
