Here's an example of an app that was approved, with the permission of the author, to give you an idea about what we're looking for when it comes to background length and similar, particularly in terms of an OC. ---------------------------------< Background >--------------------------------- Haruna Kurosawa is a young, fifteen year old girl that lives mostly alone with her sister. Her parents (Akane and Daisuke Kurosawa) are mostly absent in their lives, always being away on business and rarely home, leaving Haruna to grow up with her sister to look up to as a role model, who is the older of the two by one whole year. The two usually get along quite well, and run one of the family's coffee shops down by the beach, Gullwing Coffee-- when not busy at school. Overall, things we're normal and mostly mundane. Until they weren't one day. the coffee shop was attacked. Not by thugs, not robbed but by The Phantom Empire. No doubt, attacked for some perceived slight, real or otherwise, or to drain the happiness their coffee brought on cold winter days! But what could they do? Let their energy get drained like everyone else? What happened, instead, was at that moment, a mystical being named 'Blue' approached them and quickly told them they could fight back and protect what was important to them. As Pretty Cure. So getting their Pretty Change mirrors, they became Pretty Cure-- Haruna became Cure Gull and Aki became Cure Tide, with their mascot, a seagull named 'Gully'- The Ocean Spray Pretty Cure!- and together they helped fight the Phantom Empire and other threats around Tokyo! Until the day, in recent memory, Haruna Kurosawa disappeared. Police reports we're filed, people we're questioned, but it's just another cold case at the moment. Aki Kurosawa knows what happened though. She can't tell the adults in her life though. They would never believe that Haruna Kurosawa was kidnapped by a guy named Phantom, Calling himself 'The Pretty Cure Hunter' one day while on a night patrol.... and thusly, Haruna Kurosawa became a prisoner of the Phantom Empire, in one of Phantom's Mirrors. Things don't end there though. Things could had ended there, until whenever the Phantom Empire could be defeated in the future, except they didn't. Taken from her mirror and un-ceremoniously dumped out in front of Queen Mirage like some trophy. It was decided the Phantom Empire needed more generals to handle Pretty Cures and other numerous magical girls. Haruna just happened to be the unlucky girl to get brainwashed into one. It was. Unpleasant to say the least. Her mascot, who had tried to save her both from Phantom and the brainwashing was sent in to join her, becoming a mockery of a crow in the process. So Haruna Kurosawa forgot who she was and became 'Scorn', a 'witch' working for the Phantom Empire as another of their dark generals, sent out to ruin others happiness. Dark energy changing her enough to make her unrecognizable to even her sister. Scorn currently operates with Obsidian with the rest of the Phantom Empire. --------------------------------< Personality >--------------------------------- As Haruna Kurosawa/Cure Gull: Haruna is generally a bubbly personality who loves her sister. She has little attachment to her actual parents as they are constantly absent in her life. Their absenteeism does bother her a bit, but she deals with it as best she can and when not at school is happily serving people coffee from their shop. She of course, has hobbies, usually that's going down to the beach and combing it with her sister. She loves the beach as it's where her sister would take her often when they two we're much smaller. She has a wide seashell collection and collection of seagull feathers she likes. (She never plucks Gully's feathers!). Of the two sisters, Haruna is the fun loving, mischief maker who's always dragging Aki around into social situations. Haruna is basically busybody who likes getting involved in others business, just sliding into others business and providing help! Even if help wasn't really requested. This can get her lots of side eyes. She doesn't seem to mind however, she's being helpful, right? Right! Haruna Kurosawa likes being a magical girl and fighting for love and justice! (Even if Blue has some weird hangup about Pretty Cures falling in love. What's that rule about anyways.). As Cure Gull (The wings of hope that soar across the sky!) she has a positive attitude she tries to pass onto others. Giving Hope is important, afterall. Gully/Corvus: Gully is the two's mascot animal. He takes the form of an adorable seagull. He's used to putting up with Haruna's mischief and Aki's sterness. As I will be handling Gully/Corvus I'll be describing his personality a bit here. He's a little bit of a worry wort, constantly trying to keep Haruna out of trouble in both As Corvus, he's a crow- because brainwashing with dark energy does that, that follows Scorn around and talks in creepy rhyme. He seems obsessed with protecting Scorn and is the one to usually drag her away before things get too heated. As Scorn: Scorn is a hateful individual, as her name might suggest. Whatever Haruna Kurosawa was is reversed here. Withdrawn and pushing people away, she wants to be the Phantom Empire's best bet to win and rule the world, to plunge it into darkness- you could almost say she wants to be the Empire's 'hope'- as if some twisted version of her Cure self. She really dislikes Cure Tide for some reason she can't figure out. Maybe it's just her dumb face. Maybe it's something else... -----------------------------------< Focus >------------------------------------ See: Dark Energy & Pretty Cure -----------------------------------< Style >------------------------------------ See: Dark Energy & Pretty Cure -----------------------------------< Powers >----------------------------------- Cure Gull: Cure Gull fights with wind and feathers. This usually takes the form of bursts and whirlwinds from her hands and tossing feathers like razor blades that cut like her wind. Sometimes a mixture of both. She can also fly, like most Cures from her series, the bow on her back turning into feathery wings that let her fly. She can purify darkness like most Cures, with her finishing attack. She has a secondary Henshin named 'Blueberry Waltz' that changes her powerset to Ice, temporarily in exchange for loss of flight and no purifying finisher. Scorn: Similar to Cure Gull, fights with wind and crow feathers. Can also 'cast spells' which is code really for throw beams of dark energy and do some dark energy related things. Basically, an excuse to manipulate dark energy. The more she uses it, the more it reinforces the brainwashing to her and her mascot, Corvus. Gully/Corvus: Corvus can drag Scorn away from fights via beak and flapping. Otherwise, Seagulls and Crows don't have powers, silly. This one can talk thou.
