Profile

A recent transfer from Osaka, Minori Kurohara is a twitchy, nervous, and oftentimes gloomy girl. Minori's parents work for Obsidian, though are mostly oblivious to the darkness seething there. That doesn't mean that she is untouched by it, oh no. When Minori was much younger, she took part in an experiment conducted by rogue elements of Tomoe LifeScience. The goal of the experiment was to produce an artificial Dark Energy parasite that could be easily attached to anyone (especially those younger) and turn them into youkai or Dark Servants. Unfortunately, the experiment was a failure; being composed of mostly Despair, the parasites were self-destructive and none lasted long enough to affect any change in the test subjects... with one exception. For reasons unknown, Minori's parasite, rather than dissolving, instead merged with her soul. The merging is incomplete, but growing more fulfilled with time and has given Minori an alter ego in Nocturne, self-styled Avatar of Despair. Minori herself is unaware of this Dark Passenger, beyond some unsettling memories that she attributes to nightmares. Nocturne, for her part, has become a rather enthusiastic minion in Obsidian's employ against the Magical Girls.
