Yukiko Fuyuhime Another day, more classes...more study. Between magical girl duties and her own family drama, Yukiko had been practically glued to her text books in her ever-constant attempt to excell. The blonde was sitting at her desk, eyes glued to the page before her.

Were it not for a lapse into humming under her breath, one might think of her as a machine.
Rubi Hanabusa Rubi and Yukiko have been roomies for a good while now. Seeing eachother day in, day out, week after week. They'd fought monsters together, too! Their conversations had been mostly small talk, but they HAD talked a decent buit by this point. Rubi had tried studying with her, too, but could never quite keep up. Still, they'd reached a calmer position between the two. Casual co-existance.

It had been growing to be more then that for Rubi, though. A crush had been developing, and she'd found herself getting a bit flustered over the smallest things. So, finally, she'd decided to do something about it. She peeks up from her bunk, lowering the shounen manga she's reading, and watches the pretty blonde work on her homework for a few moments. Eventually, though, she rose and made her way over, sitting down on the edge of Yukiko's bed near the desk the girl was studying at.

"H-hey, Fuyuhime-chan." She'd used 'chan' here and there with the girl, as if testing the waters. "W-what are you doing when you finish that chapter?"
Yukiko Fuyuhime More casual, more comfortable, far less confrontational. It was amazing what a few life or death experiences shared would do for a pair. Indeed, Yukiko had even been known to the odd moment of outright kindness, dropping off cookies wordlessly for her companion when she went shopping, small gestures that might suggest she might actually like the hyperactive girl's company.

As she worked away at homework she almost certainly was finishing well before the due date, the voice had her blinking, even if her current position hid that from someone behind her.

"Usually starting the next one. Why?" she asks, her pen pausing in its movements.
Rubi Hanabusa The brunette fusses a bit with her messy ponytail, glancing everywhere BUT at her friend. She's usually hyperactive and fidgety, but this is clearly a different flavor of it.

"R-right. The next chapter. Ha. Of course."

She chews her lip a bit and climbs up, leaning over the girl to peer at her homework. Such pretty, but precise handwriting, like everything about the blonde. Everything Rubi was growing to really, really like about her. She doesn't realuize how close she's leaning for a moment, before she straightens and clears her throat.

"Well, you've really been...putting in the hours and I thought a break might be good. I know, you hate breaks and stuff but...I...remember how I picked up that part-time job at the arcade? Well, I saved up some money and I was wondering if you wanted to go grab some ramen in the city after this. Like...like...as...as a d-date."
Yukiko Fuyuhime Already working away, her back was towards Rubi, her eyes on the page for the moment as she continued her ever present persisting towards trying to be the most excellent heir and productive student. The blonde needed to succeed after all, as much in her academic studies as her duty as a magical girl and-

The pen drops, a blink as that over-active brain catches up with the words that followed the invitation to the arcade.

A date? She was being asked on a date?

Well, it was a good thing her back was towards Rubi.

"I...suppose I could take a break. I am a little ahead of where I need to be..."
Rubi Hanabusa The girl's heart does a backflip in her chest, and she absolutely beams. After a moment she gets her expression under control and she nods. "Oh, cool! Y-yeah! Great. Good. Nice. Excellent." Rubi runs out of words as she fumbles over what to say.

Eventually she rises and takes a deep breath. "Right. A date. Going on a date with Yukiko. Okay. I'm gonna change and put on something that isn't pajamas, okay? Ramen sounds good, right? I mean, everyone likes ramen..."

She hurries over to her drawers and tears through them, finally stopping when she finds something suitable. The girl then sprints towards the bathroom, vanishing into it to change.
Yukiko Fuyuhime Yukiko hadn't said anything about the 'date' part. Maybe she was in denial, maybe the 'Ice Princess' was a little better at playing it cool on the surface. Whatever the reason, she turns back to her book to finish the last notes, closing things up and making her way towards her own closet and whatever she might be intending to wear.
Rubi Hanabusa After a bit Rubi returns to the room. The tomboy is wearing a cute black knee-length dress with a red underskirt and accents and short sleeves. It's rare as hell for the girl to wear a dress, or dress nice at all really. She's a jeans and baseball cap kind of girl. "Okay!" She blushes crimson as she smooths the dress down. It's cloear from the look on her face that she's unsure about the outfit choice.

"DOes it...does it look dumb?"
Yukiko Fuyuhime It's decidedly less abnormal for Yukiko to be wearing a dress...and so she was, the blue and white dress strapped dress baring her shoulders as she comes to tie up her hair into the usual ponytail at oneside, a simple tie doing the task before the question has her turning back to Rubi and blinking in suprise.

It was quite a sight....and she was staring. Right.

"It looks good," she offers, turning back towards the mirror and making a point to finish fixing up her own hair. The best way to hide her expression...unless Rubi was standing at the right angle to the mirror.

"Are you ready to go?"
Rubi Hanabusa She took a few steps further into the room to snag her wallet, only to notice she has no pockets. "...I don't own a purse...," she grumbles to herself. She glances up and happens to be standing at that exact angle to catch whatever expression Yukiko is really making.

"Do you mind carrying my wallet in your purse with yours? ...And my phone? Sorry, I don't have a purse. I normally just wear pants with pockets and stuff..."

Is this happening? Her heart is racing.
Yukiko Fuyuhime "You should be more organized," Yukiko offers, but the purse is indeed offered for Rubi to deposit her own belongings into. "If you were saving, planning this...or was this just you looking for an excuse not to study?" Of course, even if the words might be a little harsh, there wasn't really any true edge to them.

She wasn't going to comment on the fact the mirror had done a poor job of hiding her blush earlier.

"So we're headed to the arcade first, right?"
Rubi Hanabusa "Oh. Um. No, I got the job to save to take you out to dinner. I was...was planning it for a bit but building up the nerve to ask you out."

She slips her phone and wallet into Yukiko's purse. Seeing tghat blush makes her heart flutter and helps improve her self-esteem considerably. "You look really pretty."

She opens the door, then, holding it for the other girl. "Well, the arcade is just where I've been working. But we can hang out there first if you want! All I really planned was the ramen shop, but...I'd love to hang out more for it, too, so..."
Yukiko Fuyuhime Okay. That brought another blush in how earnest and honest it was, Yukiko suddenly finding a lot off interest in her own scarf as they walked through the door and she stayed ahead, lest she be caught looking like that. After all, she had a reputation and image to maintain!

Coming forwards, she shrugs her shoulder beneath the strap of her purse. "You should be more decisive dummy," she chides, "if you're going to invite me out you should know where we're going!"
Rubi Hanabusa She offers a rueful grin at that and rubs the back of her head, moving to catch-up. Soon they're walking side by side down the dorm hallway on the way to the exit. "Yeah, yeah. I know. But, I mean, I wasn't sure if you'd be interested, you know? You're hard to read, sometimes. On purpose, I figure." Even so, the tomboy doesn't seem the least bit put-off or discouraged by that fact. She adjusts her dress here and there as they walk, clearly unused to it.

"How do you wear these things?," she mutters to herself. "Other then -well-."
Yukiko Fuyuhime Yukiko's answer on being hard to read? She just shrugs, she couldn't really deny it or the reasoning after all. Instead she lets the tomboy catch up, catching the muttering a little before raising an eyebrow. "Just wait till you try heels," she muses, perhaps actually teasing her 'date'.
Rubi Hanabusa Rubi laughs at that and shakes her head. "Oh, absolutely not! You're gonna pry my Converse off my cold, dead toes!" She hesitates a bit, then, and glances aside at the blonde as they reach the exit. Rubi opens the door and holds it for her. "...Unless you'd like to see me in heels, sometime. But not as an all-the-time thing."

She steps out into the courtyard of the school, then. "Ramen?," she asks her. "I love the arcade, but I don't think it's your speed...which is -fine-."
Yukiko Fuyuhime A little chuckle, but she moves onwards, through the held door and shrugging her shoulders. "I've never tried one," she admits, Yukiko looking over up at the other girl. "But I could, if you like. For something different," she offers.
Rubi Hanabusa The ease with which the girl agrees surprises her, but brings a smile to her face. "Okay, great! We'll go to the one I work at. It's a great place. Just expect a lot of noise, okay? If it gets overwhelming, just stick with me." She winks at her, trying to act cool. The second Rubi glances away her cheeks are red, though.

She leads the way out of the school grounds, beginning to lead the way down the street and towards the arcade. "So, how is school for you? Other then grades, I mean. How are you...like...settling in?"
Yukiko Fuyuhime The blonde bites her bottom lip at that, considering. "I mean, it seems well enough. It's very different and...I suppose my roomate isn't so bad." She followed along, awaiting for Rubi to make comment on her words.
Rubi Hanabusa That makes Rubi laugh, and she covers her mouth. Her ears are a bit red at that, though. "Well, alright. I mean, my roommate is surprising sweet once you get to know her, too. Also, she is -definatly- the hottest girl in school. So, we can consider us both winners, then?"

She's acting casual and brave, but the girl's heart is absolutely trying to hammer it's way out of her chest.
Yukiko Fuyuhime Welp, that would make her blush brightly. "You dummy," she offers, but there's no malice to the words as they follow along. If she was nervous, she was -trying- to hide it, though with mixed success.

"So what do we do at the arcade?"
Rubi Hanabusa When she's called a dummy it just brings out a big, cheesy grin on the girl. They turn a corner and keep walking, side-by-side. "Oh! All kinds of things. There are a lot of gacha machines. You put in tokens and get a random thing out of it. They're themed. I got this AWESOME little guy the other day." She turns to show that a clip is attached to her hip, and on it a cute little toy dangles. It looks like a copyright-free magical girl. "There are claw machines, which are similar but require more skills. And then the gaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaames!"

She skips ahead and turns, facing Yukiko and walking backwards as she talks. "Fighting games, adventure games, shooting games, dance games, rythym games! All kinds!"
Yukiko Fuyuhime "Fighting games?" she repeats, Rubi's excitement might be infectious, but Yukiko was -trying- to keep her normal aloof air. "You don't get enough of that doing what we do?" she questions before shifting to consider. Dancing games? Maybe she could do that.
Rubi Hanabusa "I mean, it's not the same. It's a bunch of weird, colorful characters using awesome powers to fi-...ah. Okay, good point." She gives that embarassed grin and shrugs a shoulder. "But it's just pressing buttons. You don't walk away with a black eye." She almost trips with her backwards watching, and reaches out and catches herself by suddenly grabbing Yukiko's shoulders. She ends up looking into her eyes and far too close. "SORRY!" She leaps back and moves back to her side.

"W-we're not far," the girl suddenly a bit shaken.
Yukiko Fuyuhime "I suppose that was better," Yukiko muses quietly, gently letting her attention shifting before suddenly she found herself grabbed, a gasp escaping her lips and her face going as bright red as Rubi's own cloak usually was at the apparently forwardness. After a moment, Rubi jumps back and Yukiko was left blushing, a hand coming up to press her fingertips up against her lips. "O-okay..."
Rubi Hanabusa Both girls are beet red now, and Rubi is internally kicking her own butt for that stumble. But soon enough the beep-boop-booms of the arcade can be heard. A large open archway leads inside. It's a deep building, filled with branching rooms with every possible game you could imagine. Children, couples and all sorts of folks mill about, laughing and playing games. Near the front are the gacha games, with the crane games in long rows with them. Beyond that are numerous rooms of games.

"Yay! We're here! Now, the second this becomes un-fun for you, you tell me, okay, Princess?"
