| Setsuna Meiou | It's about two hours after Ami ran from the room after subduing Bow. A text-only message comes across Mercury's communicator, flagged private only to her from Sailor Pluto. It reads: Do you want to talk about it? I understand if you don't, but I really think you should, and the sooner the better, I think. I'm more than willing to lend an ear. I'll even bring whatever your favorite comfort food is. ;) Just let me know where you'd like to meet. |
| Sailor Mercury | Sailor Mercury was not too far away. Though she had fled the abandoned office building so that the others could continue the work necessary to remove Crystal Hope from Bow, she had fled after she'd done what she had to knock him out in such a tense situation. It hadn't sat well with her at all. But she had lingered nearby keeping guard over the building at least while sitting atop another. It was the absolute least she could do after all of that. When the text comes through she reads them quietly only to trya nd think if she even *had* a comfort food. She's about to type that thought when the idea springs to mind and she shoots back a reply. TXT: Curry pan. I'm on the building three blocks south. |
| Setsuna Meiou | Sailor Pluto thinks about what buildings are in the area...as she's used this place once or twice before, she knows the area decently well enough...and after a moment, she figures which building Mercury must mean. The text comes back: TXT: I'll be there in fifteen minutes. And sure enough, about fifteen minutes later, Sailor Pluto lands on the roof not far away, carrying a small plastic bag with several paper wrapped bundles inside. The taller senshi walks over, "I hit up a local place nearby. These were made fresh today." After she gets close, she stops and looks closely at Mercury, trying to assess how she's holding up as she comments, "So you'll be pleased to know that the rest of the procedure went well, and it's a good thing we did this when we did. If I'm not missing my guess, the needles that thing had in him were very nearly to his spinal column...and I imagine once it got there, it would have been too late." She pauses then asks in a less clinical, matter-of-fact voice, "...that all said, how are YOU holding up?" |
| Sailor Mercury | Ami Mizuno glances over at Sailor Pluto with an emotionless expression. Usually she could at least force a smile but right now? She just looked tired. Exhausted even. There were no rings under her eyes but there may as well be for as tired as she appeared. "It needed to be done. If they had continued to fight, it would have only done him more damage. Knocking him out was necessary. And that," she pauses with a shakey breath. "Was the quickest way to do it." Logic. Logic she knew but ... "*Seeing* it though. Seeing him..." She trails off. |
| Setsuna Meiou | Sailor Pluto steps near...and then the Garnet Rod is in her hand...which she taps on the rooftop, releasing a soft, distinctive chime sound before letting it go...where it just kind of stands there, straight up as if it had been mounted in place. Nodding to herself, Pluto hangs the bag off one of the little flanges poking off to one side of the keylike staff, then steps forward, "Well, you're not wrong. Things were getting out of hand...and if it had gotten to a general scrum, it's pretty likely more people would have gotten injured." She pauses and reaches up to rub her face for a moment before she dropping her hands and looking at Mercury again, "...but I saw your face there at the end...you weren't in a good place...and I get the impression that having to do that, needed as it was...did no small hurt to you, too." She then opens her arms a little, "...would you like a hug? Because after the last few weeks I think we can all do with all the hugs we can get." |
| Sailor Mercury | Mercury watches Pluto a moment only to dip her head and scrub both hands over her face breifly. No tears, just a tired gesture as she works to ease some of the tension in herself. "Did you know I couldn't remember much about my past life before? I wondered if I'd done something to make sure I couldn't. Then the portal and I couldn't ignore it all." Hands drop away as she just walks forward into that offered hug with a deep, shaky breath. "I'm going to be a doctor and I did *that* to him. He's alright, now?" |
| Setsuna Meiou | Sailor Pluto just gently enfolds Sailor Mercury in a hug, doing her best to offer comfort as the other young woman is in a fragile place, "No, dear. I didn't know...though given the time frames involved, it doesn't really surprise me." She pauses for a moment in thought, then continues, "I'm really sorry you all had to see the nasty details so up close and personal...and to...well, what very much probably felt like yourselves. All of us are basically pretty far in PTSD right now. I might be dealing with it a little better because I've processed all of this before...but I'm feeling pretty raw around the edges, myself since this time I got to see it all from way up close rather than afar. I just have LOT more experience to let me fake it better, but as always, I'm willing to answer any new questions you might have about...then." Pluto pauses for a moment to let that sink in, then one can almost feel her soft smile, "...as far as what you did?" She shrugs a little, "...if we'd done it in a hospital and he'd started fighting like that, they'd have summoned the floor's 150 kilo orderlies to wrestle him down until someone could slam a plunger of Midazolam into him to knock him out...and those orderlies would NOT have been under orders to be gentle." She sighs a little, "'Do no harm' is a very fine goal to strive for...but don't let a short term focus blind you to long term results. After all, there are entire medical disciplines based around doing very carefully measured harm in the short term in order to improve a patient's health in the long term." A shrug is given, "As far as what YOU did? You might have been a little rougher than is strictly ideal...but by the same token, the situation was FAR from 'ideal'. If you hadn't done what you did, it was about to turn into a bit of a scrum, and there's a very real chance that...THING could have hurt one or more of us while we were trying to subdue him. You stopped that. Sure, he's going to be in recovery for a while...but that was going to be the case, anyhow." A gentle squeeze is given, "...ultimately, I think you did pretty okay, given the circumstances." |
| Sailor Mercury | Ami Mizuno Lets her eyes remain shut for the duration of the hug so that she can better focus on what Setsuna is saying rather than dwelling on what thoughts she was having. A deep, slow breath is drawn, and exhaled just as slowly in an effort to center herself using the physical touch from Setsuna as a bit of a ground to ensure that. "I know. I know that, logically, and I know that in hospitals such a situation would be dealt with that manner. That doesn't change the fact that I saw him..." A soft sigh comes and she shifts her weight back to step out of the hug. As reassuring a smile as can be is offered toward her to show that she's okay. Even if she wasn't entirely. "It was still not something I really have seen up close. Even back in that other life, I chose to freeze people before I could be that close to seeing their eyes. I will be fine. I just need some time." |
| Setsuna Meiou | Sailor Pluto nods to Mercury, "I understand. I think we all do, for one reason or another...but in many cases talking about things can help...and, of us all, I'm the one that's 'seen the elephant' the most, as the old saying goes...so there's a good chance that no matter what it is, I've seen or done it over the years." Then she turns, reaches into the small plastic bag she hung off one of the keylike protrusions from the Garnet Rod, and pulls out a plastic-wrapped curry pan, "Also, have some bread. I'd seen the bakery I got these at a few days ago and had wanted to try them, anyway...so I was glad you said you wanted pan." |
| Sailor Mercury | Ami Mizuno chuckles softly in response to that. There's no real humor in it, but she's trying. Sometimes faking it until you feel it was the way to go after all. It's all she can do at the moment. Until she had some time to process and a good night's sleep, she would just be this sore, numb, emotionally achey person she was currently. The pan that's brought out however does earn a slightly more genuine smile. Reaching for it she nods a single time. It's held between her hands to regard quietly before she actually peels back the celophane wrapper to reveal the curry pan inside. "Thank you. I don't indulge in this often, but it is a bit of a comfort food for me. Usually I'd get these on my way home from school when I was younger because I knew mother wouldn't be home before I had to go to bed. It was nice having something quick I could eat that I didn't have to cook myself." Looking up to Pluto again (and up it is given the height difference) she nods in thanks. "Thank you for checking up on me, Pluto." |
| Setsuna Meiou | Sailor Pluto smiles back softly to Mercury as she nods, "I'll always have time for ALL of you girls. If there's ever anything you need from me, just ask." She then steps back and fishes in the bag for whatever she'd gotten for herself...which is revealed to be a yakisoba pan. As she opens the wrapper, she leans against a nearby HVAC unit and pats a spot near her, "In any event, I think we both could probably use a good night's sleep...but after that whole thing, I'm a bit peckish myself...so I propose we sit here, watch the city go by for a few minutes while we relax and have a snack...then head home and faceplant into our beds." |
