| Minako Aino | The arcade was as always one of the favored hangouts for students after school. Sometimes during school. It really depended on the situation but those who ran the place weren't really about to chase any customers out, either! Thankfully today was 'after school' so there was no need to worry about such concerns in the first place. Minako was here as she typically was when she had a lot on her mind and wanted to avoid responsibility. Which almost everyone knew. Which is why 'Minako' isn't here, but 'Minato' is. A cute blonde boy in a school uniform, jacket off and tie loosened messily, was currently leaning over the Sailor V game cabinet glaring at the screen. "No way! She beat my high score again!? Augh, Ami-chan, *how are you so good* at everything!?" Standing up he slides one hand up his arm to roll his sleeves to his elbows, and he ties his jacket around his waist like a girl might. Properly situated it just takes a moment to pull out the yen needed for the game. "Challenge accepted! Time to reclaim my high score!" |
| Souta Camero | Souta Camero still doesn't know one end of Tokyo from another, but someone told him that the Crown was a great place to hang out and he figured he may as well at least see what the place is like. Electronic games, complete with flashing lights and sound effects. Each machine trying to grab his attention (and his yen). A parlor upstairs selling food. Wild, unusual, though perhaps what he should have expected. One stop has it all. Spotting a fellow blonde boy getting heavily focused on a game, he wanders over in that direction to look over Minato's shoulder. "Hope you wouldn't find me a bother if I watched? I'm a little new to this," he asks. Hopefully he's not asking at the exact worst time. |
| Roman Talleday | Roman would be one of those boys that had been here during school hours. Which, normal enough habit for him to skip out on his public highschool back in Essex, was a lot more unusual and frowned upon here in Japan, it seemed. Unfortunately, Roman was still a little oblivious to that fact, and he hadn't been turned out. He had, at the very least, had the better sense to swap school blazer for denim jacket to minimise the fact that he wasn't where he was supposed to have been. A victorious yell made him more obvious, nearby at the UFO catchers. He'd come away with a large box containing some sort of action figure-- "Who the hell is Sailor V, anyway?" He asked nobody in particular, turning the box about in his hands. "Is that a show or somethin'?" |
| Minako Aino | 'Minato' had just taken hold of the controls when Souta's voice over his shoulder causes his head to flip to the side with a sharp motion--There's no hair to whip to the side to see properly though, his hair was short! It was kind of nice. A wide, bright, cheerful grin meets Souta in response to the question. "Oh, not a bother at all! This is one of the best games here," he starts to explain with a gesture toward the cabinet in question. Only for Roman's cry of victory followed by such a question to reach him. He leans on one foot to the side to peer around Souta at Roman with wide eyes. "*Who is Sailor V?* Only the best, most beautiful, completely awesome crime fighter against the forces of evil! --Wait hang on did you get the toy!?" Minato lets out a little excited squeal as he hops in place in excitement. "Oh holy crap I've been trying to get that out of there for so long you don't even know you're so lucky! Anyway!" He reaches out to grasp Souta by the shoulders as he announces, "I was just about to start the game with my friend here--" He pauses, leans in closer to Souta to ask, "What's your name?" Before leaning back to the side again to talk around him, "So if you're curious come watch me reclaim the high score!" Excitable as always he quickly adds, "I'm Sailor V's number one fan! Mina--" Pause. "Minato. Yes. Minato." |
| Souta Camero | Who ''is'' Sailor V? Good question. Souta has read a lot of Chrono's reports, but he's still new here. He still doesn't know all the henshin ID connections aside from those who have outed themselves, either. Fortunately he has her number one fan right here to answer any relevant questions. He's also very energetic, in contrast to Souta's generally understated demeanor. Yet there's also an infectious quality to Minato. Few things are happier than a fan gushing about their favorite topic, and a defender of justice is certainly a topic worth gushing about. "Souta Camero," he introduces himself when asked. Apparently the toy that the other boy got was important. His green eyes go towards Roman and he waves. Souta suspects they're both equally clueless about the apparent majesty of Sailor V, though Minato seems eager to remedy that. "So she..." He wants to ask 'is she magical?', but decides not to be that direct., "... fights crime? And this is her video game? By all means, score away." |
| Roman Talleday | Having tucked the box underarm, Roman peers at 'Minato' for a little bit. After a look at Souta-- in a discreet ''blink twice if you need help'' sort of way-- he settles on observing, "You gotta lotta energy, don't ya? President of the fan club and all, is it?" A real person, then. He doesn't ask if there's a restraining order in effect, but it's there in the back of his mind. "Good for you, man." His Japanese comes with a strange drawl, fluent in a way that's come full circle back to being distinctly lazy, and not terribly polite. There's a slight swagger to his step and he's tall as he approaches, drawing up towards the other two at the cabinet. A curious pass of blue eyes take in the screen. "If you're number one, whose beatin' you?" |
| Minako Aino | Minato turns back to the screen of the game though he doesn't hog it all. It's easy for the other two to come up and watch on either side. Grin still in place he focuses intently on the game as a little blonde character wearing a mask and weilding a laser gun starts across the screen blasting creatures that were most definitely inhuman. "Oh there's no fanclub sadly. There's a game forum, but it's not widely distributed so it's not as big as it could be." Alas. That was the problem with the single arcade machine here that Artemis and Luna had developed to help train her, and the other Senshi. Blasting away with quick practiced movements of the joystick and rapid tappa-tap-taps to the buttons he continues on conversationally. "Oh, yes she fights crime! Stopped a few thefts, broke up a criminal organization that was seeking to steal the energy of Tokyo residents. Even went international for awhile!" Ah the stories he could tell. But can't. Roman's question earns a little upward lift of his chin indicating the leaderboard. "Ami Mizuno, the school genius. I can't feel bad if it's her beating me! But it's still a challenge to reclaim the score." "I'm very athletic, I have tons of energy usually." |
| Souta Camero | Souta looks at Roman a little confused but not really in any way that indicates he needs help. He volunteered for this conversation, and the moment 'energy draining' is mentioned he wonders how much magical awareness is involved in the making of this game. Ami Mizuno, girl genius, apparently also plays this game, and Minato seems to view her as... a rival? At least that's the conclusion that Souta reaches. He watches the game with keen interest, not just in what happens on the screen but the buttons that Minato presses. The former Inspector would likely have to actually play the game in order to really get it, but sometimes it's better to see someone else play first. The claim of being athletic gets Souta glancing at the boy for a moment. With a slight smirk he says, "I wouldn't call myself ''very'' athletic, but I do go on jogs. Getting a good blood flow helps the brain." He actually doesn't think it's odd that Minato is skinny. Not all forms of exercise result in a lot of muscle mass. "I get the feeling you're making this look a bit easier than it is." |
| Roman Talleday | "I do a bit of sports, and a bit of this and that..." Roman muses, which is perhaps an understatement, but he moves on. "I know that girl, though. She tutors me." Roman's interest in the game is a little more casual, but he does seem impressed by the prowess with which Minato seems to play. Countless hours must've been spent here, he thinks. "I thought she was playin' a DS, but she said it was a planner, like. Didn't think she'd be the sort to play this kinda game... maybe she's holdin' out on me." He squinted a bit, "Top left." |
| Minako Aino | "I've played it since it first showed up." Not came out, but it didn't seem as if either might catch that odd remark. Another few quick motions of his hands, jabbing at buttons, and he continues to play right up until he misses the jump on a pitfall. "Aawww, rookie mistake!" He could blame being distracted on the others but he doesn't do that. Instead he steps back gesturing toward the machine with a grin. "Feel free to try it yourself and see!" to Souta. It allows him to fix a look on Roman that sweeps up and down over him taking him in. "She's tutoring you? Well you're guaranteed to pass then, she's excellent! Though she's a real slave-driver," he adds a bit lower-voiced at that in case he didn't want to be overheard by any wandering Ami's. "We--Er her friends drag her here on occasion so she plays. They have to help her have fun once in awhile instead of just studying." |
| Souta Camero | Apparently a lot of people know Ami, notes Souta. Well, he's likely to meet her sooner or later then. The subtle oddity of language is noted, but Souta ''is'' from off planet, and for all he knows there's no real difference between 'showed up' and 'came out'. He might not actually figure out what's weird about this game until he actually does some research later. Hours from now a confused Souta might be wondering why it seems like almost no one has heard of this game. For now though, he's being invited to play. "Oh! Well, don't mind if I do." As he step up to the controls, he slips a coin into the slot and hesitantly pushes buttons until the title screen goes away and the game proper starts. The inspector has certainly played a large number of sims, but this is his first actual arcade game and it might show a bit. He's hesitant, unsure, yet he strikes with a certain decisiveness. The game doesn't exactly reward his slow caution, and he soon finds himself overwhelmed by enemies. Eventually he just starts button mashing, and it helps him for a while, but then a snake enemy hits him from behind and it's game over. Frowning while adjusting his glasses, he admits in a slightly terse tone, "I should have been on my guard for that." Moving on from the topic, he states, "You both seem to know this girl genius pretty well. Anything I should be warned about?" |
| Roman Talleday | Roman sucks his teeth, and gestures to the game over screen. "Too bad, man. It's a snake, but. They always strike fast and outta nowhere, don't they?" As he turns his head towards Souta, the earring he's wearing becomes apparent as it swings with the motion. It's a tiny teacup and saucer, of all things, dangling from his left ear. "She's absolutely wicked, like. Doesn't even let me use a calculator or nothin'... And you gotta watch her, she's quick," he warns, "I swear she ate a whole donut the other day. Vanished it into her face. Inhaled the whole thing. Didn't even chew. Saw it out the corner of my eye, and she acted like it didn't happen." He moved in towards the cabinet. "Here. Let's have a go..." He put a coin in. |
| Minako Aino | "Oh yeah the snakes used to always get me when I first started playing, too," Minato remarks with a knowing sympathetic nod at the cause for the game over screen. "You did good though! I'm sure you'll get better with practice!" At least he's encouraging about it instead of boasting over being better. His initials were still on the ranking list even if it was second place, there was no need to boast more. Roman's explanation of the disappearing donut also earns a firm nod. "Sandwiches too. She prefers things like that because it saves time eating so she can focus on studying. I've only met one other person who eats as quickly as her, and she's usually way messier!" Usagi was not as tidy though she could put it away. So could 'Minako' but that was not something he would ever admit to, even in this form! "Ami-chan is super nice though! She'll be a great doctor some day." He goes quiet then to watch Roman start to play. It doesn't last long though when a little beeping alert goes of on his watch which he glances down toward with a weary sigh. "Ah, I have to go, I'm sorry. You cuties have fun though!" A flirtatious wink is given at this toward the pair before Minato twirls around to hurry off somewhere. |
| Souta Camero | Souta shrugs as sympathies are expressed. Well, at least they are kind about it. Then again, he admitted up front that he was new, so maybe they simply had accurate expectations. Besides, Minato doesn't need to tell Souta that he's better. That's already known. The long blonde-haired boy steps back and crosses his arms as he watches Roman play. There's a bit of curiosity, and maybe a bit of a deeper understanding now that Souta has touched the game himself. Unfortunately, Minato needs to leave. Souta nods and politely smiles as the blonde boy. "Thank you for showing me, Minato." Wait... cutie? Well, maybe that's just how boys flirt here. Minato's gone before Souta formulates a response, though. After Minato leaves, he comments, "Well, he was friendly." |
| Roman Talleday | The box had been set down at his feet. Running shoes, of good quality. Roman's not bad at the game, by any means. He knows the kind, he's no stranger to the motions of it. He's distracted momentarily by Minato flitting off, too-- cuties? Well, yeah. They were. Shame the dude didn't stick around to flirt a little more, though, if he was going to. "Friendly, yeah. That's one word for it," he agrees with Souta, and turns him a glance between a few kills, "I'm Rome, by the way. Don't think I said." He's nearly gotten by something, barely missed. "Ooh, cheeky..." |
| Souta Camero | Roman introduces himself, and Souta nods. "Souta, in case you missed it." Glancing off to where Minato vanished, he asks, "Is it common to flirt and run like that?" As Roman gets got, Souta shrugs. "Well! Still a better showing than me. I can see I have a lot of practice." He reaches up to touch the side of his glasses for a moment, frowns thoughtfully, and says, "I believe I also have something to get to. It's been a pleasure. Perhaps we'll run across each other?" He turns to leave, and all 5+ feet of his hair swishes behind him as he walks. He waves as he exits through the door, apparently not sticking around for very long at all. |
| Roman Talleday | "Honestly, I got no idea how they get on here. Half of what I say just turns people pink." He admits about flirting, and shakes his head. "Japanese blokes are flighty about that sorta thing, maybe." A nod though. Souta. Like Soda. Sure is formal, this guy. "Yeah, yeah. Maybe I'll catch you around school," Roman grants as the other goes to leave. He lets himself be distracted by the hair for a good minute. He wonders if he'd look good with long hair like that? Then again, that might be a pain in the arse to fight with. Hm. Sure was pretty, but. |
