Zephyr Windstar     Zephyr Windstar, local mage and runner of the mobile storefront of Jan Ken Pop. She's currently set-up in Penguin Park, hawking her wares to those enjoying a late summer afternoon in the park. The tall foreigner is speaking in a heavily accented japanese. "Cherryade, Lemonade, Cola and more! Jan Ken Pop's guarantee is thirst quenching or your money back! Remember to visit our storefront at Akibahara Mall, second floor, third front along the west side!"

She isn't being pushy, and isn't constantly shouting, just offering up her pitch when the crowds have moved on a little bit, so new ears hear it and ones who've already heard it won't get annoyed by the repetition.
Erika Shimizu     o/` ~ "We'll buy one for the bo's'n,
    And one for the mates,
We'll buy one for your man of the topsail all day!

We'll buy one for the striker to keep him on game,
And one for the gunner, who's well on his way,
And another round just for good measure~!" ~ o/`

Well. Someone is in a good mood. It's a perfect summer day, and school is still out. So a one Erika Shimizu is in a perfectly chipper mood as she makes her way through the park. She's wearing a simple white blouse and blue skirt, and singing a merry tune as she meanders with no real intent. ... Until she ''hears'' Zephyr. And sees what the older girl is selling.
Green eyes lock onto the pop cart like a hawk that's just spotted prey, and she ''quickly'' course corrects to veer that way.
She's beaming by the time she makes it over to the cart, beaming brightly.
    "I'll take ten!"
Zephyr Windstar     Zephyr has that Customer Service face as Erika walks up and announces she wants 'ten'. "Certainly, but, ten what? Would you like a mixture or all the same?" she asks, then gestures to the price list and 'menu'. "You're a <new face>, recent transfer to the academy?" she says 'New Face' in less accented, but still accented English.
Erika Shimizu     Ten. She wants ten. Erika wants ten colas and she will not be deterred by simple things like 'flavor' as she looks to the menu. Time to make some decisions then as she taps on her lower lip thoughtfully...
"I'll take two grape, two cherry, two orange, two cream, and two root beer~." She makes her decision pretty easily.
But then she nods. "Mm! Something like that! I'll be starting this coming semester. Before that I was out of the country a lot with my parents."
Zephyr Windstar     Zephyr plucks out the requests as they're spoken, moving just a little 'too' quickly to be considered normal, though that might not register straight away. She plucks a little bag out to put the cans in, then extracts a bottle of Jan Ken Pop branded clear cola. "We just started stocking these. Every ten items earns a free sample." she states, slipping the bottle into the bag, accepting the payment then leaning on the cart top. "Neat, I've met a few kids from there, they're nice people for the most part." she remarks. "So, travelled a lot? See anywhere really cool?"
Erika Shimizu     The girl is practically salivating as the soda's are pulled from the cart. But then when the clear cola comes out her eyes widen. Clearly she had not expected a free sample, and that is quite the pleasant surprise.
Too bad she can't actually taste a single drop of it.
But that's neither here nor there as she hands over the appropriate amount of yen for her purchase.
"Eheh heh~. We just got back from the Caribbean actually. See dad's a sailor. So mom and I tend to go where he goes a lot. Usually. But I convinced them to let me settle down back here long enough for a semester here."
Zephyr Windstar     "Oh, find any pirate treasure out there?" asks Zephyr in a jovial tone. Little does she know how close to the mark she may just be. "I'm a... traveller... myself. I'm from up north." she adds, explaining her accent, or so she pretends.
Erika Shimizu     *fshk-pop!*
That's the sound of a soda can, root beer flavored, getting popped open.
    "URK!"
''That'' is the sound of Erika Shimizu nearly choking on said soda when it goes down the wrong pipe on hearing the question.
Nearly choking. It's suspicious how quickly she recovers without so much as a cough, but her voice is a tad hoarse thanks to soda flooding her lungs.
"Hahahahaha! Good one." She gurgles. "Fifteen men on a dead man's chest~. Yo ho ho ho and a bottle of rum~. Drink and the devil had done for the rest~." She says while thumping her chest.
    Ulp.
    That's better.
"Oh? From where up north?" Now it's Erika's turn to ask the hard questions.
Zephyr Windstar     Zephyr's purple eye cracks open at the choke, and the recovery. She does at least manage to look a bit contrary. "Way up north." she replies nonchalantly. She shifts, and her bracelet jingles softly with the motion.
Erika Shimizu     Erika is fine, everything is fine. Everything is just fine.
She pats her chest a bit more before taking a deep pull of cola to act as though everything is completely normal.
    Because it is.
"Huh." She muses briefly, pursing her lips.
"I've been to Canada before. When I was really little."
Canada is pretty north. Zephyr must be Canadian, clearly. That has to be the case.
Zephyr Windstar     Zephyr doesn't elaborate any further, but her weird accent isn't really congruent with any Canadian accents, but she's not going to confirm or deny it either way, eh.

"Oh, we never introduced ourselves." says the older girl, in the sudden way one does when attempting to change the subject. "I'm Zephyr Windstar... Zephyr is my given name, so Windstart is my family name." she offers a card, with her name spelled out in english lettering, and the japanese symbols that make it up. "It's written like this, but you say it like this." she points out.
Erika Shimizu     Introduction time! And Erika is still smiling brightly as she accepts the card.
    "Ahhhh..."
"It's nice to meet you, miss Windstar." She says brightly. "I'm Erika. Erika Shimizu. My dad chose the name Erika 'cause he's American. And Shimizu is written with the kanji for 'Pure Water'." She explains while twirling the card deftly in her fingers, pausing to take a sip of her soda without inhaling it this time.
"And if it wasn't obvious, I. Love. Soda."
Zephyr Windstar     "Shimizu-chan." Zephyr says, bowing faintly. "It is nice to meet you." she then shifts, and straightens, offering a welcoming smile as someone else comes up to purchase something. She does the same things with them as with Erika before, though they didn't buy enough to get the free sample. "Thank you for your custom~." she says as they leave with their drinks.
Erika Shimizu     Erika does, helpfully, step aside when someone else comes to buy soda. Though she looks a bit smug at the fact that she got a free sample. The girl just loves her soda. But it looks like it's time for her to get going as she gives Zephyr a little bow of her own.
"Eheh heh. This'll last me a while now, thank you, miss Windstar." She says before seeing herself off. "Be seeing you around~."

o/` ~ "We'll buy one for the first mate,
When we're out of the storm,
And the cooper whose last barrel's splintered and worn,

And a round for the surgeon,
    Who's wrecked as a mule!
And the swabbies as well, sure to not would be cruel.
As the cook knocks 'em back at his leisure~" ~ o/`
