Owner Pose
Mio Morita The sun is hanging lazily in the western sky. School had let out for the day and things are active at King Penguin park. Some people are walking around, minding their own business. A few are sitting on park benches, just enjoying the day. There are children playing on the various playground equipment. One thing however is a bit out of place. A table is set up with various baked goods laid out nicely. The occasional person comes up, checks the baked goods, and makes a purchase.

Sitting at the table, A young girl with red hair and wearing a Radiant Heart Academy uniform sits and collects the money. She is all smiles as she makes her sales. "And remember, all profits go to feeding the homeless." She states to a patron.

"Thank you Mio, It is always good to help out." The patron replies.

Mio smiles and nods, "You are most welcome. I hope you enjoy the lemon bars. They are really yummy." She giggles a little having tasted her wares before hand and knowing full well that they are good.
Hannah Steiner It's been a bit of a whirlwind for the displaced Heir-Apparent of the world of Tharkad, between space-chases into forbidden territory, crashing into an Unadministered World, and the equally trying attempts to settle in to a world with a frankly /depressing/ technological base. Luckily for the Countess, RHA has asked a suspiciously low amount of questions for her sudden appearance. So much as she'd love to proclaim her full glory, she isn't about to risk retribution on her House from the TSAB or pull others into her politics.

That doesn't mean it's been easy. She's had to pawn off several trinkets just to have living money. At least the language course makes things helpful. It, again, should be really suspicous but the locals' grasp of magic isn't on the top of her priority list. Her head isn't clear at all.

Hoping to do something about that, Hannah has started her usual workout routine. King Penguin Park is perfect for a run, and so with her glamoured Razorhound, Lyra dutifully leading the way she comes to a walking stop as her nose and a mental bump from her Device points her in the vague direction of delicious freshly-made calories. A long chug of a waterbottle, and her boots and cane with some tugging from Lyra leads her up towards Mio. Bedecked in runner's shorts and a tank top, a bit incongruent with that bowler hat on her very-blonde features, she stops with a wide smile on her face.

Lyra makes a welcoming sound that resembles a bark, but may just seem....a little off. Could just be the imagination though.

"Guten abend mein freund! Are those local baked goods I smell? Your timing is impeccable mein brave merchant of delicious calories!" Comes the mixed Japanese and...is that German? It is very /off/ for the language, but at least the cadence is there. Hannah's command of Japanese is clearly fresh, but has enough sheer confidence that it's mostly intelligible. The accent is like a sledgehammer to the ears, but her voice is equally as blunt in the friendliness department.

She's already fishing in her pockets for what little yen she can afford.
Mio Morita The girl behind the table smiles and gives a polite bow. "Thank you Miss. Yes these are all homemade and prepared as of just last night. I like to raise money for feeding the homeless. Thats what all the profits go towards." Mio smiles a little and continues. "If I may make a suggestion, These Candy Cakes are absolutely amazing. Its yellow cake with peanut butter on them and topped with hardened chocolate."

She turns her attention to the dog. "What a lovely dog! She looks like a good girl. Are you a good girl? Are you?" She smiles as she leans down offering to pet the dog but not moving to pet without permission from both the owner and the dog.

As Mio considers the woman with the accent, she notes that the accent doesn't quite sound normal to her but what would sound normal? Her Japanese sounds different from the Japanese of someone from Kanto. That's just how accents work. Maybe this woman was from a different part of Germany than any others she's heard.
Hannah Steiner Hannah Steiner raises both brows, then takes her cane in her arm to give three solid claps and a very firm nod! "Charity for the commo...acht, what is the word..." She intentionally stumbles her words to cover up her slip into nobility.

"Those less fortunate! Yes. Very noble of you mein freund! Good lesson, too. Never know when Lady Fortune decides to kick you into the dirt, by your own or others' actions. Helping hands and all that!" She trots out with a slightly pained look on her face. Then she latches onto food. A few more breaths as her heart rate gets back to a resting pace.

"In that case, one for now, two more for later! Wrap them up for me, hmm? Hate to have them crushed on the jog and ruin your hard work." Then she pauses, and laughs.

"So polite mein freund! Her name is Lyra. Yes, you may pet her! Do not let her size fool you, she is sweet. Lyra? No snatching the brot!"

Lyra makes a pathetic sound and turns those Not-Dog eyes at Mio. Peeeer! "Acht, und where are mein manners?" She takes a step back, leans on her cane, and crosses one arm at her waist. Then in a practiced motion, she does a half-bow with one heel snapping to the toe of her other one.

"Coun....Acht, no. Hannah Emilia-Lina Araki-Steiner the Fourteenth. Whom is mein new freund, hm?" She manages to sound both formal and yet her smile is welcoming as if, indeed, Mio already is and has always been a dear companion!
Mio Morita Mio smiles and leans forward to give Lyra some pettings. She grins to the dog and is flat out happy to give the dog some attention. "OH!" She quickly reaches into a small box beside her and pulls out a doggie biscuit. "Here you go Lyra." She smiles offering the treat.

Once done with the dog, she looks at Hannah and smiles, "Oh Absolutely. I can wrap those up for you in a jiffy." She quickly sanitizes her hands so as to keep clean and begins wrapping up the baked goods. She smiles, "My mother inspired me when I was much younger. She told me to never lose hope. Its kinda become my way to bring hope to others. I miss my mom every day but I know that she is always with me." She smiles happily.

Once wrapped up, She hands over the baked goods and smiles, "There you go. You have a wonderful day, Miss. Do you attend school around here? I got to Radiant Heart Academy." She smiles again, seeming to do that a lot. "Its a really good school. I joined the Hero club there. Its fun helping others and trying to do things for the community."
Hannah Steiner Lyra /beams/ at Mio! That tail is flailing in a curious manner, but still obviously overjoyed at TREAT! Hannah discretely leans away to avoid her compatriot from whapping her with a fuzzy lizard tail. Girl must have good balance because that is a dangerous angle to be leaning at. f
Maybe it's a German thing.

After a few chomps and narrow loss of Mio's fingers before an enthusiastic nuzzle-nuzzle-nuzzle into Lyra's best friend, the 'dog' has hopped down. Hannah takes the goods, pausing and pushing the associated yen in a neat stack with careful movements. There's definitely more yen there than requested. Even with an acheing pocketbook, a Steiner has obligations particularly to a good cause.

She's already chomping down on the treats after putting the wrapped ones away, pausing to swallow. Deliberately so. For as exquisite as Mio's work is, she finds her mouth dry. Lyra nuzzles against her owner's leg, before peering at Mio with what could almost be empathy in eyes a little too keen for your average woof.

A swallow, and she hopes she's kept her poise. "It sounds like you are going to do her and your House nothing but honor." Comes Hannah's voice with earnest confidence even as she realizes her slip. She decides she doesn't care, ponders a second, then pulls out a cell phone.

A few taps on the braille keys later, and out the back, pops a printed sheet not unlike a reciept. Far more rigid though, and soon enough what can only be described as a mini business card is pushed towards Mio with Hannah's name and number.

It's embroidered with fancy flowers in gold print and blues.

"What luck! I want to hear all about you and this club mein new classma..." Starts Hannah before sudden Lyra lets out a low growl. Tensing, Hannah slips her phone back into her pocket and kneels beside her companion. A whisper to the thing's ear. In her head, her Device pings a warning.

Suddenly, she's back on her feet. "Looks like I lost track of the time. Auf wiedersehen!" She offers, as politely as she can before the pair - trio, secretly - are off abruptly with a backwards wave from Hannah. Her earlier jog is swapped for the walk of someone with somewhere to be, the Countess' jovial manner settling into one of worry.
