Scene #682: Radiant Infirmary: After Hours Episode 682

Setsuna Meiou	It's a bit after classes at the Academy...and the Infirmary generally stays open for a short while after class, just in case someone got hurt in a last period class. Still, eventually the Infirmary closes up for the night, and thus while the door is still open wide, about half the lights in the room are off, and while nobody can be easily seen from the doorway, the sounds of someone rummaging around just out of sight and perhaps securing things can easily be heard.
Adora Rainbowfist	Adora is fairly healed up, with a fresh set of scars on her tummy now instead of the wound. She's wearing her uniform still, which consists of her uniform top and blazer, and the boy's uniform slacks. She gave up on the skirt after a week here. "Okay, right but...she has more apples?," inquires the tiny alicorn, a bit panicked. He flutters around above her with his rainbow-feathered wings, unseen by the normal students. A magical kid here or there, though, stops to gawk. Generally, that means Adora has to pause while Swiftwind strikes some poses. "I mean...I think? I used the last of my allowance on the suit I wore to the Ball." "...To impress Catra." "YES! Okay!" She huffs a bit and pushes the door open, stepping in. "Nurse Meiou! Are...you home? Um...in?" "I don't think she lives here." "Yeah, I know!"
Setsuna Meiou	The sounds stop for a moment as Adora calls out...and then Nurse Meiou's voice can be heard from a little closet off to one side of the room with it's door open, "Miss Rainbowfist? Please tell me you didn't pop one of your stitches again." A bit of noise, then...someone steps out of the side room...but it might take a few moments for most people to recognize it's the Nurse. Namely since she's wearing...well...armor. A leather and gold-accented breastplate, a short black pencil skirt with a long maroon sash, gold-colored-high-heeled armored boots that come up to her mid thighs, bicep-length black gloves, an armored vambrace on her left arm, a gold torc to protect her neck and a sort of reverse tiara thing that has a small gap at the center of her forehead. As she walks into the main room, she glances VERY MOMENTARILY at Swiftwind...just enough for it to be obvious that, yes, she DOES see him...but she IMMEDIATELY stops paying attention to him and gives Adora a very thorough once over, "...well, you SEEM to be okay." Nurse Meiou tilts her head and puts a hand to her hip, "...so what brings you by? Most students avoid the infirmary like it's a source of plague."
Adora Rainbowfist	Adora's cheeks redden when she sees that armor, and the blonde visibly grows a bit flustered as she takes the nurse in. New crush obtained, dangit. "I...uh. Huh? Did you...say something?" Swiftwind lands on the nurses desk and canters about a bit, glancing over at the nurse and calling out to her. "I am Swiftwind, the companion and faithful steed of the one and only She-Ra! ...Also, I ate all the apples you have her. I mean, it took some time since I'm so tiny in this world..."
Setsuna Meiou	Nurse Meiou for her part either: A: Doesn't notice Adora's reaction OR B: Notices but pretends not to She turns and looks over at Swiftwind for a moment...but there's no awe or indication she finds a tiny alicorn that can talk dancing on her desk to be anything particularly special beyond an information source, "...ah. Yes. I can see how that might be a bit of a problem. New pets DO need time to adjust, after all." She hrms, "Well, I suppose there's nothing for it than to get your companion here some proper horse food and you some replacement apples." She chivvies Adora out of the office, "Come along, then. We'd best be off."
Adora Rainbowfist	Adora blinks and moves to follow, her brain still rebooting from Armored Meiou. Swiftwind kicks back into the air and flaps along, flying about above them. "Oh, sure! Yeah, that sounds good. Where are we going...?" The blonde slaps her cheeks a few times, making the blush fade a bit as she follows along.
Setsuna Meiou	Nurse Meiou locks up as she leads out of the Infirmary, then starts walking towards one of the exits, "Well, normally for bulk things, I'd go visit my contacts down in Yokosuka. The Naval base there always gets shipments of some of the most interesting things." As she steps just off campus, she waves in the general direction of the north and west, "...however, given that's a bit of travel for this time of day, we'll just hit up a smaller grocery store I know of a few stops down." And with that, she sets off across the street and over towards the local train terminal.
Adora Rainbowfist	"Naval base? Oh man, Seahawk is missing -out-," she chuckles to herself. She follows along with Swiftwind, nodding as she listens. She stuffs her hands into the pockets of her uniform slacks. "Grocery store. Got it. Oh! My new rommie LOVES the stuff you sent over. I mean, I do, too, but Makoto-chan was THRILLED," Adora explains with a grin.
Setsuna Meiou	Setsuna (because off duty and in that outfit, it's perhaps hard to think of her as 'Nurse Meiou') hides a giggle behind her hand, "...that's what I gather from Miss Kino, yes. When she found out I was the one who sent you that, she had a bit of a gush. Apparently, cooking is a bit of a hobby she really enjoys...which makes me glad, since that means you BOTH will get good use out of the gift." At the terminal, Setsuna waves Adora in before swiping her card twice just in case Adora forgot or hasn't gotten a train card yet...and then a train pulls into the station at just the right time so that by the time Setsuna reaches them, she doesn't even have to break stride to go through the train car doors...and just walks over to grab one of the stand straps off to one side.
Adora Rainbowfist	"Yeah! We're gonna make so many tasty things!" "And hay, right?," asks Swiftwind as they wander along. "I don't need to MAKE that, Swiftwind. We can get some for you." "Oh. Okay, good!" She follows onto the train, seeming like she's at least been on it before. She finds a place to sit beside Setsuna, while the horse lands in her lap.
Setsuna Meiou	As the train starts up, Setsuna looks over her shoulder at Adora, since the seat she took is just a bit behind her, "It's about two stops down from here...which generally means about fifteen minutes or so. I don't know if you've spent much time on the trains here, but they're generally a fairly pleasant ride these days." She then turns and faces back 'forward', but goes on, "As for hay...probably a bit of a less than easy find here in the city...but oats are easy enough to come by, and they're similarly inexpensive."
Adora Rainbowfist	For some reason, Adora is barely hearing the girl, and she's beet red again when Setsuna glances back to talk to her. All the dumb jock is hearing right now is white noise, honestly. Swiftwind, meanwhile, glances between the two and then squints at Adora's red face. "Hey! Adora! I know you can't hear me over the VIEW right now, but at least I'm paying attention! If I had fingers I'd probably have to take notes for you! Sheesh. Teens."
Setsuna Meiou	Perhaps unseen, Setsuna rolls her eyes a little...then snorts as an idea comes to her. She absently twists her wrist...but stops with it held at an odd angle...and her fingers twitch around for a few moments before she seems to find what she's looking for. Her hand completes the motion, and a small, multicolored roll drops into her grip. A little fiddling, a little peeling later...and Setsuna is very pointedly NOT looking towards Adora or Swiftwind (though a sharp eye will catch that she's looking fairly intently at their reflections across the car)...and then she flicks her thumb...and a moment later, a cherry Lifesaver lands on Swiftwind's horn like somebody just made the world's most unlikely ring-toss. A glance over at Setsuna, however, will show her to just be standing there causally like she apparently had been the ENTIRE TIME.
Adora Rainbowfist	The horse looks dumbfounded as it appears around his horn, and he sticks his tongue out and begins straining to lick the candy. He is failing. Adora's trance is broken by a giggle as she watches, furrowing her brow a bit before she glances back up at Setsuna. "Soooooo. Uh. School. You go to the school, too, then? Or...just...like...a nurse? I mean, not that that's small..."
Setsuna Meiou	Setsuna turns in place a little to look more directly down at Adora, "Hrm? Oh, my school days are LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG over, Miss Rainbowfist. I'm just the school Nurse." Swiftwind's predicament also gets a bit of a grin from the taller woman before she looks back, "Why do you ask?"
Adora Rainbowfist	"She was curious about age and all that. Crushing on a teacher is funny, but awkward," the alicorn explains. He finally leans his head down and uses a hoof to slide the candy off of his horn. Not questioning how it got there, he begins to munch on it. "Shut up, Swiftwind!"
Setsuna Meiou	Nurse Meiou (because there's something just...official that seems to have come back over her at the moment) sighs, then reaches over while Swiftwind is preoccupied...and then her gloved fingers clamp viselike on either side of his horn...at which point said nurse lifts up and forces the tiny alicorn to stare her in the EXTREMELY UNAMUSED eyes, "Mister Swiftwind...I have been giving you a bit of a pass up until now...but seeing as how YOUR actions have caused Miss Rainbowfist far more embarrassment than anything else lately." She narrows her eyes a bit, "SO...I will thank you very kindly to sit down, be quiet, and stop embarrassing Miss Rainbowfist or else I'll make VERY VERY sure that any food beyond oats we get will be utterly unsafe for consumption by hooved quadrapeds. DO. YOU. UNDERSTAND. ME?"
Adora Rainbowfist	Adora blinks as she watches this happen, sitting back a bit on her bench. Swiftwind, meanwhile, flails a bit as he's liften, and his eyes widen as he stares into the Nurse's eyes/ He swallows a bit and then nods his head quickly. "I understand, ma'am! I understand! Don't hurt the oats!" Adora can't help but grin a bit, that flush still there. "Wow. Nobody has ever goitten that reaction from him..."
Setsuna Meiou	Nurse Meiou gives Swiftwind a narrow-eyed glare for a moment, then nods and lets him go. Conveniently enough, just about that time, the train pulls into the second stop down the line and Setsuna immediately turns and starts walking out the opening doors...which seem to open a mere second before she'd have walked into them. Then she's leading the pair through another terminal and down to street level before turning and walking down the sidewalk, "It's not much further now, dear."
Adora Rainbowfist	During the long period between stops Adora fishes her phone out. She furrows her brow and focuses on it, tapping out rapid texts with her thumbs. She types, waitd a moment and replies, over and over, until the stop is reached. Seemingly steeled when the conversation is over, the girl is a bit less of a fumbling mess. She climbs to her feet, and Swift Wind flutters up to circle her as she heads on out. "Okay!"
Setsuna Meiou	Nurse Meiou slows her pace just enough for Adora to be able to easily catch up, then speeds back up to her normal walk...which, given her height, is one that only Adora and a few others can easily keep up with, "Let's see...the place we're heading is about a block up this way and two down..." And indeed, after a farily brief walk, she leads Adora to a place called 'Precce Premium', which, according to the sign, is apparently open 24/7. As has been the case the whole way, Nurse Meiou's costume has gotten a modest amount of attention, but given that Halloween is only a day or two away, beyond the initial look, most people seem to be processing it and going about their day. Once inside the store...which seems to be a rather full-service grocery store and bit on the medium to high end as such things run, Nurse Meiou grabs a handbasket, hands one to Adora, then heads right over towards the produce area. She quickly picks up a few bags of apples which she deposits in Adora's basket before grabbing one more, a few bags of baby-cut carrots...and a strange cube-shaped green...fruit? Looking over at the blonde, she asks, "Was there anything else you particularly wanted, Miss Rainbowfist?"
Adora Rainbowfist	The blonde follows along with the Nurse. Anytime a stranger's gaze lingers a bit too long on the woman, a glare from the athletic Adora makes them think twice. Her blush has receded and she seems more confident after the text conversation. As soon as they are inside, Adora has to reach up and catch the tiny Swiftwind before he takes off to explore or eat things. "We need to pay for stuff first," she whispers to him. She watches and follows as the basket is slowly filled, and she considers. "No! No, this looks great." "Oats!" "Right. Uh. I'm not sure they sell those here, buddy."
Setsuna Meiou	Nurse Meiou snaps her fingers, "Right. I knew I was forgetting something." She looks around for a moment, then orients towards one of the aisles and heads over at a brisk walk. As she heads down it, said aisle is a bit of an explosion of colors and images that is the typical 'cereal' aisle of a grocery store. A quick walk down the aisle, and the nurse reaches down to grab a pair of large cylinders, each with a picture of a whitehaired man in a large blue hat. Nurse Meiou then straightens up and starts to head off...then visibly pauses. After a moment's thought, she turns around, walks about halfway down the aisle, and grabs a big primarily red box of cereal that says 'Kit-Kat' on it, THEN turns and starts walking towards the front...only to pause for a brief moment and grab a green box of something that advertises itself as 'Carmella Creeper' cereal before turning and making her escape from the cereal aisle. Apparently, Nurse Meiou is a bit of an impulse shopper.
Adora Rainbowfist	Adora watches with a bit of wonder, being a bit new to a shop like this. She doesn't know what most of this stuff is, and more then a few boxes are picked up, examined, and then put back. Swiftwind immediatly leans forward to sniff at the cylinders when she gets back, and he does a little wing-waggle of excitement. "Oh! I was expecrting huge, annoying bags like at a stable. This is MUCH better!" She eyes the various impulse grabs curiously.
Setsuna Meiou	Nurse Meiou walks the two over to the checkouts, where she places her items from the basket on the belt and indicates Adora to do the same before depositing her empty handbasket in the little stand for such. As things are bagged up, she absently indicates the two boxes of cereal should be in a separate bag...and then it's time to pay. The person behind the register looks over at Nurse Meiou a bit curiously...because the costume she's wearing doesn't seem to have any obvious place for pockets, and she's not carrying a purse. At which point the nurse smiles...then twists her wrist and suddenly produces a credit card from apparently nowhere. The register jockey blinks once or twice...but slieght-of-hand IS a thing, so he apparently gives a mental shrug, then waits for the nurse to swipe her card. In short order, the transaction is done...her card disappears again...and Adora might realize that she's using magic to store it somewhere. Then she grabs the bags and nods to some others for Adora, "Let's get you back then, Miss Rainbowfist." And once more, she's walking back towards the train station again...though if Adora's paying attention, she might notice that Nurse Meiou is walking a bit slower than she did on the way here.
Adora Rainbowfist	She follows along to the check-out area, setting her goods on the counter as she is told to. When the card trick happens, both her and Swiftwind let out a small 'ooooh' at the same time, before grinning at eachother. She takes her bags and moves to follow her out. Once on the street she moves to walk at her side. "Thank you again, Nurse Meiou. I can pay you back for these when I get my monthly allowance!"
Setsuna Meiou	Nurse Meiou pfffts and wavewaves a hand dismissively at Adora, "Don't worry about it, Miss Rainbowfist. If you MUST pay me back, save a little of the applesauce for me to try and we can call it even." As she leads back to the train station, she cardswipes to pay for Adora again...and then the reason she was walking slightly slower is revealed as the train pulls up to the station, and once again Nurse Meiou is able to walk straight through the opening doors without breaking stride, "So, did you have any other questions, Miss Rainbowfist? How are you finding classes?"
Adora Rainbowfist	She grins softly at that and nods. "Deal." She peers at Swiftwind. "Hear that? So don't gobble it all up!" She brushes her fingers back through her hair as she looks back to the older girl. She does blink at the perfect timing of her walk, and the way she knows exactly when the doors will open. She hurries in behind her, though, and takes another seat, her groceries in her lap. "Classes are...well, I've never ever done anything like them before," she admits. "So they're a -lot-."
Setsuna Meiou	Nurse Meiou stands at about the same relative place she did before, but this time she turns to face Adora, "Are you at least learning a lot? They're not too much, are they? If there are subjects you're struggling in, we can get you some help to bring you up to speed, since your previous 'guardians' don't really deserve the name, from what I gather."
Adora Rainbowfist	She sighs softly and rubs her face. "Everything about Earth history?," she replies with a chuckle. "I'm...a bit behind, you know?" Adora shrugs an athletic shoulder and turns to peer out the window, watching things pass in a steady blur. "I don't even really know where to start with it."
Setsuna Meiou	Nurse Meiou snorts a bit, then shakes her head, "Normally, I'd say 'The beginning' is a good place to start, but truth be told, the beginning of recorded history was kind of dreafully dull." She sighs, "Normally, the way I'd suggest for someone such as yourself who has no background at all in the region that the best way to study history would be to study...oh...say the last half a century or so of recent history, then go back about a hundred or so years and study the history which led to that...then keep repeating until you get back to ancient history...but sadly, I don't think that's going to be terribly useful for you, as I imagine whomever is your history teacher has started somewhere back in ancient times and is working forwards."
