Naru Osaka There are so many places that students find themselves settled to study. The cafeteria, their various rooms, other friends' rooms, classrooms and various coffee and food shops scattered all over the city. Sometimes, however, nothing beats the good old fashioned library.

Naru has taken over a section of table, with her notebook and her sketchbook and a few reference books that illustrates just exactly why she's in the library rather than somewhere that she could be having a coffee

She's not actually /using/ the reference books that she got out, she's writing in her notebook, but the theory is there that she could be using them.
Cho Konishi Cho Konishi made her way into the library, fists clenched, eyes narrowed. Looking frustrated. She was all ready to yell at somebody...

Only to realize the report she'd received was... apparently exagerated. She glanced around at the quiet library for a moment before face palming. 'It's like a circus in there!' indeed. Well, if there were troublemakers they'd long since departed.

She then glanced towards Naru and made her way towards the other girl, putting as polite a smile on her face as she could. "Hey. Everything going well? Need help with anything?" she asked with a friendly smile. "I uhhh, don't suppose you heard any yelling a bit ago? Students causing trouble?"
Naru Osaka Naru looks up as Cho approaches and blinks at her at the question. She looks around, as if trying to determine who, or where, those rowdy students might have been. "Not on this floor?" She offers as an option. "It's been quiet while I've been here." And based on how settled in she is, she's probably been here for a little while at least.

"I mean.. a coffee shop installed in the library would be great." Naru quips with a flash of a smirk that should indicate that she's joking.
Cho Konishi Cho Konishi actually paused for a moment to consider that. "A coffee machine in the library... that... that might actually be a good idea..." she mumbled, glancing around. After all, with everyone who studied here, a chance to make them more awake during said times wasn't the worst idea. Then again, with the wanton way people often disregarded books, and coffee machines, it could lead to a lot of damage to books. After a moment she shook her head.

"It's not a bad idea, but trying to set it up for so many people would be a recipe for disaster. It'd be too easy to damage the works here and that was a joke, wasn't it?" she asked with a sheepish smile. "Sorry, I can take things a bit too seriously sometimes," she said before reaching out a hand, offering it to shake. "Uhhh. Cho Konishi, grade 9. Nice to meet you."
Naru Osaka Naru laughs warmly and shakes her head. "It would probably be a terrible idea. Far too prone to spills, and making people get up and walk all the way to the cafeteria is good for us who tend to focus and not move for ages. So yes, just teasing. I don't actually expect it to happen."

Naru takes that hand and gives it a shake. "Naru Osaka, also Grade 9. I'm Usagi's roommate, we're in the same class." Because if one doesn't know Naru, generally people know Usagi.
Cho Konishi Cho Konishi blinked a few times before... Her face actually lit up. "Wait, you're Usagi-chan's roommate? That sounds wonderful! She's such a perky, happy person, isn't she? I helped her with some math problems the other day and she was a positive delight! And I am so sorry if you're used to hearing that too often and get self conscious because I just realized I'm gushing a bit about your roommate and sorry," she said, giving a small, nervous chuckle.

"Sorry we haven't really met before, I uhhhh... I'm busy a lot. What are you working on, if you don't mind me asking?"

Then... "Do you like cookies?" she asked. Bribery. Always the best solution to making a bit of an ass of yourself.
Naru Osaka Naru's expression warms at Cho's praise for her roommate. "Usagi's wonderful. I never tire of hearing that she's made someone happy, we've been best friends since we were four." She laughs softly, easily. "My own abilities aren't threatened by Usagi being positively a delight, have no fear there."

Naru glances at her notebook and then back up to Cho. "I should be working on a history essay, but really, I'm doodling." She has the grace to look a little sheepish at the admission. "Are you just here to investigate a noise complaint, or are you here to study as well?"

"Um. Sure?" Naru is a little surprised at that jump in topic. "Doesn't everyone like cookies?"
Cho Konishi Cho Konishi gave a small chuckle, nodding slowly. "Yeah. I imagine that must be nice. And uhhhh, sorta. I mean, I was investigating a noise complaint but other than that, I'm mostly just supposed to kind of wander about, make sure nobody is breaking the rules and causing trouble. Help students with their homework if they need it, mess with Hotori-kun if I see him, though that one's more personal than an actual duty."

"... You know, though, if you need a break, it's okay to take them from time to time. The mind does a lot better once its had some time to recover and not overly light itself on fire." She says as if she doesn't do it regularly! "And going for walks and stuff is a great way to wake up the mind when it's getting sleepy of work. How much progress have you made?"

Then she reached into her bag and pulled out... a small baggie of cookies. And held it out to her. "Want one? They're peach."
Naru Osaka "Why are we harassing Tadase?" Naru asks with a chuckle as she reaches for one of the offered cookies. "Thank you. That's unexpected, but a welcome break."

fNaru ahhhs softly. "I'm generally busy enough that I don't get opportunity to spend /too/ much time sitting still. I do find that changing focus is almost as good as a break. Not quite completely so, but it does help, for certain."

Naru gestures at her schoolwork. "How far have I gotten on the essay? I've got my research done, my outline written. I'll get to writing up a first draft shortly."
Cho Konishi Cho Konishi shrugged. "Because he's very serious, needs a little bit more lightheartedness in his life. He's pretty cool, though. And thanks, I hope you like them. I bake them myself." Because cookies from the store can be expensive and she is a student.

"Yeah, studies can be pretty intense here a lot of the times, what with all the school work and uhhh, extracurricular activities. Like the clubs. But well, if you need to change focus, I have just the thing." She pulled a deck of cards out of her pocket and held them out. "Pick a card, any card."

She glanced towards the essay and paused. "Wait... am I actually helping at all or making this worse? Tell the truth."
Naru Osaka "That's legit reason to harass Tadase. He really does need more lightheartedness." Naru agrees as she nibbles on the cookie.

"There really are a lot of extracurricular activities. Clubs and all sorts of other things, busy busy place around here." Naru has no reason to believe that Cho notices the weird, other than it seems like everyone she meets does.

Naru sets her notebook down and reaches out to pick a card. "I'm perfectly alright to take a more extensive break right now, I don't mind the distraction." Naru's words holds a certain level of sincereity that implies that she really would say if it wasn't a good time.
Cho Konishi Cho Konishi nodded. "I know, right? Have you met him? I mean, outside of the announcements? He's really high strung allll the time because... well... He just needs to relax reallllly badly." That and for Kiseki to get trapped in a fish bowl for a little bit.

"Which clubs are you a part of?" she asked before letting her take the card. "Okay, now memorize it, right? Then... slide it back in." she said before shuffling it. Shuffle shuffle. She seemed INCREDIBLY focused on it this time. Then, taking a deep breath, she cut the deck in half and... flipped it. "Is... is this your card?" she asked, with all the energy and expectations of a magician who has tried this trick a thousand times and failed to ever get it.

Except, this time?

It was correct. The right card. "I'm uhhhh, part of the stage magician club. I'm not very good, though."
Naru Osaka "I've met Tadase a couple of times, yes." Naru confirms. "Once he was even out feeding the deer when we were inflicting Tokyo tourism upon Adrien. So I promise he does get out now and then."

Naru looks at her card and nods, putting it back as Cho shuffles very very carefully. "I'm in the Art Club and the Debate Club."

Naru doesn't actually /tell/ Cho what her card was, but she does smile brightly. "Exactly! The 7 of diamonds! Great job!"
Cho Konishi Cho Konishi stared for a few moments. "Wait, Tadase-kun was feeding the deer? Really? Wow... I hope Kiseki didn't cause any troubles with them, the last thing Tadase-kun should be doing is accidentally riding deer," Cho said with a light snicker.

"Those sound fun. I've never really been any good at either of those things, but they sound like they'd be a lot of fun to learn about, if things didn't like... get too out of hand."

However, when her card was correct... Cho just stopped and stared for a moment, her mouth falling open. "W-wait. I... I did it? I... I actually did it?" She looked like she might cry, staring at the deck of cards for a few moments before shuffling them again. "P-pick another card!" she said, soon shuffling it and then flashing the card and.... and she'd done it.

It had taken her literally months to get it right. BUT SHE DID THE TRICK! OH MY GOSH SHE DID THE ACTUAL TRICK!
Naru Osaka "Kiseki was very well behaved, he was helping to feed deer as well." Naru explains with a smile. "It was adorable."

Naru laughs warmly at Cho's surprise. "You did it! Congratulations!" She giggles softly. "I'm guesisng it doesn't usually work? It totally worked! Good for you! You should have a cookie to celebrate!" She lifts her cookie, as if to offer a toast.
Cho Konishi Cho Konishi couldn't help but feeling a bit(okay, a lot proud) when she pulled the trick off. It had taken her months, but she'd finally gotten it done! She'd managed the trick! She picked up a cookie of her own and lightly booped her cookie against Naru's. "Thanks, I guess you're my good luck charm," she said happily.

After, however, she glanced to the clock and... "Speaking of, I should probably get going. It was really fun meeting you though, Osaka-san! I hope we can talk again sometime!" she said, before getting to her feet and walk/running away! Cause no running in the halls, but she had stuff to get done.
