Norie Okana Norie Okana... forgot her gloves. She can't find them in her dorm and it's class soon. So she stands outside the nurses office and swallows a little. She doesn't wanna bother the school nurse. But she has no other choice at the moment.

She peeks the door open and walks inside as she looks around the nurses office, kind of keeping her hands to herself as she swallows again.

"H--hello. Is. Anyone here?" she asks. Maybe no one is here right now.

And she can make off with a pair of those bright blue nitrile gloves. She doesn't try to steal anything.

Yet. She does swallows. "I um. Need. Something..." she trails off.
Setsuna Meiou The infirmary at the Radiant Heart Academy is, as perhaps expected, just as swank as the rest of the school. It's a large, well-supplied room separated with some of those rolling medical divider walls. Fairly nice beds can be seen here and there through gaps, and the main area is set up like a typical waiting room/nurse's station, complete with posters giving info about various adolescent diseases/conditions/problems.

One poster that stands out a little from the rest is a cartoon of two doctors standing over a patient lying on a bed with an arrow sticking up out of their arm. The caption reads:
'At a guess, I believe this arrow might be the source of her pain.'

As is often the case, the school nurse can be found between patients to be leaning against one of the counters in the infirmary, book in one hand with a picture of a scruffy, trenchcoat-wearing man holding a staff and a large revolver (this time in front of an Aztec pyramid in the background) in one hand and absently rolling a pen through the fingers of her other hand.

The moment that Norie peeks around the corner and enters the field of view from inside the open door, the pen in Nurse Meiou's hand comes to a sudden halt, and she lowers the book to look at the young woman, "Ah, Miss Okana. Enter freely, and of your own will. What seems to be the issue?"
Norie Okana Norie Okana eyes the cartoon poster. She kind of wants to laugh at it, at least a little, but she can't. She eyes the book with the cover, but can't place the book. So she can't comment on it. She does find it interesting though and asks. "What is..that book?" she asks quietly.

Still, she shakes her head. That's not what she's here for, to ask silly questions about what the nurse is reading.

"I uhm. I need... uhm.. a pair of. Gloves. So. I figured. There might be some here?" she asks, quietly, looking down at her hands a moment as she sighs a little.

"Please...?" she asks, more quieter.
Setsuna Meiou Nurse Meiou's off hand makes an odd little twist...and the pen in it disappears only to be replaced by...

Well...

It's kind of hard to look at.

Literally.

It looks like nothing more than a hole in the fabric of reality that she's somehow holding between her fingers. All light seems to vanish within until she rotates it a little...revealing a brilliant, apparently glowing stylized capital P somehow hovering within said void.

Said piece of void which...the Nurse uses to mark her place in her book before snapping it shut, revealing the title to read as 'CHANGES' in English.

She glances at the cover for a moment before setting it down, "This? It's a rather interesting series by a chap named Jim Butcher called 'The Dresden Files'. This is book..." She pauses briefly, then nods and goes on, "...book twelve."

She then straightens up and steps towards Norie, "Gloves? What for? I have several kinds and some might be better than others depending on what you need from them."
Norie Okana Norie Okana blinks a little when the Nurse does... something. She does recognize it as magical and she has to turn her head a little, but she squints a little at it all, as she places it between the book to mark her place. She notes the capital P. Which could mean anything really, to her.

"Oh.." she says quietly. "What's it... about? If it has that many books in the series... it must be okay... right?" she asks.

"Uhm. I uhm... condition. Can't... touch things..." she goes on. "I have gloves. Normally. Knit by my dormmate but... can't. find them and.. Inai-sensei said I need to... wear them from now on..."
Setsuna Meiou Nurse Meiou smiles. She LIKES getting people interested in new books, "It's about a guy named Harry Dresden...who's the only practicing Wizard listed in the Chicago phone directory. Sadly, being a wizard doesn't do much to pay the bills, so his main job is as a Private Investigator that occasionally consults for the Chicago Police Department when they have a case that involves the 'spooky' side of things. It's a fun series. I'd be happy to lend you a copy if you want...but be aware that all the copies I have are in English."

Then she hrms and heads over to a cabinet, "Any specific needs for the gloves? Do you have allergies to latex or anything else?"

A few moments, she comes back with a few boxes of gloves as well as a few sheets of paper, some scissors, and a pen. She sets the paper and pen down in front of Norie, "If you could please trace the outline of your spread hand from a bit below the wrist on each hand, please?"
Norie Okana Norie Okana listens with some interest and shakes her head. "I can't...read nuch English." she admits. "Maybe I can find a translation somewhere..." she thinks as she sighs a little and closes her eyes. She opens them back up when gloves are provided to her. She blinks a little... though. "Why..?" she asks.

"You're not...turning hands into turkeys.. are you?" she asks quietly as she starts to trace her hands a instructed.

She does this carefully as she eyes the gloves. "I don't have any allergies, that I know of.." she says quietly. "Latex.. should be fine..." she says gently.
Setsuna Meiou Nurse Meiou picks up the traces, pulls a clean t-shirt in the school's light-orange color out from somewhere and absently uses a pair of scissors to first cut out the outline, then transfer that outline to the shirt.

As she works, she absently answers, "Well, I'm not sure if the school library has it, but the local branch of the National Library almost certainly does, and they're just a stop down the train line from here as I recall."

Some pins are put in place to hold things together...and then the nurse picks up the fabric and begins to hand stitch at a rate that seems to push the edge of what's humanly possible.

It's like one is watching someone who has an insane amount of practice and skill at sewing by hand making use of her skills.

In fairly short order, she's stitched one of the two hand outlines, "Oh, no...nothing of the sort. That hand turkey thing is an American thing. It's a bit different here in Japan..."

She absently pauses as she stitches, "...I mean, I imagine they might be doing that on the base school down in Yokosuka...but that's technically America, anyhow...so the point still stands."

As she starts the other outline, she goes on, "So what's the particular problem you're dealing with that you need gloves for and that Inai-Sensei has said you need to wear them for?"
Norie Okana Norie Okana nods. "I'll...check there then...on a bookshop.." she says quietly.A

She blinks as she watches the nurse start stitching as she blinks a little and looks down at the medical gloves provided for her. She picks one of them and puts them on quickly, for now, not wanting to waste more time with that, a bright blue pair as she looks down at her hands. Inai-sensei knows her secret...

"I am...La Vampira. Energy. Vampire. Drain by touch. Whether I want to or not." she says quietly.

"I didn't. Ask for. That. For the record. I'd rather not be. If I had the choice." she says quieter.
Setsuna Meiou The Nurse doesn't even pause in her stitching as she quickly finishes the second outline, "Ah. Well you obviously don't burst into flames in the daylight. Any other bad reactions I need to be aware of? Garlic? Silver? Running water?"

She then starts cutting close to the stitches she just laid, following fairly close to the outline, "And I understand circumstance can often lay burdens on us we dislike. It's how we deal with said burdens that's the important part."

Once the outlines are cut, she folds a bit at the bottom of each hand over and stitches that around...then takes each and turns it inside out...before handing them both over, "And there you go. Those should be a bit more comfortable than latex gloves. Not as good as if I'd had some proper time to work on them, mind, but they should do for the rest of the day, at least. Also, if you can ever get me some lead time, I can do you up a much sturdier and well-fitted pair."
Norie Okana Norie Okana say. "Daylight doesn't bother me. Garlic is... burning. But I think garlic is burning for everyone that decides it's a good idea to just eat a whole clove." she snorts a little. "Silver.. nothing bugs me except. Churches. and... whatever...I dunno. I was in a fight recently and a.. rainbow really made me hurt." she says softly.

She's provided gloves and she blinks a little. "Um. Thank.. you..." she says stiltedly as she blinks a little.

She awkwardly blinks a little. "I see. Like. Inai-sensei, you know of this. World? This. Magical. Stuff." she says quietly. "---s--so sorry...ahead of times.." she says gently.
Setsuna Meiou Nurse Meiou arches an eyebrow, "A Rainbow? Did someone miss that badly?"

Because for the moment, she's assuming that anyone flinging rainbows around would be a Mahou and that Norie is one as well...they have zombies, werewolves, and liches after all.

She shakes her head, "And yes, I'm more than aware of the magical world. And what are you sorry for? As you said, you didn't ask for this."
Norie Okana Norie Okana blinks rapidly. "No. No. I was the ''target'', you see." she says quietly. "I was trying to... stop.... a traitorous, throne stealer, and some people took offense." she says quieter.

"No. No. You are a nurse. No doubt. People come to you that are hurt. I hurt plenty. I don't have much of a choice, Whether to drain them to sustain myself, or because there's plenty of... of..."

"Nrg, we call them... sparkleskirts..."

"That object to that. I am... i am hardly... a hero... Meiou-sensei." she says quieter.

"So I am sorry, You are helping me. When you may not wish to."
Setsuna Meiou Nurse Meiou pauses, then slowly turns to look over at Norie, "...actually, in point of fact, the person you attacked was NOT a 'throne stealer', as it's rather hard to 'steal' a throne that one is the designated and recognized heir for. And if you've been led to believe otherwise, I'm afraid you've been sold a rather rank bill of goods."

She takes a deep breath, "...you DO realize that if you STOP working with those people, and against them many of the...'sparkleskirts' as you somewhat derisively call them would bend over backwards trying to help you?"Shehe shakes her head, "Just because you're not a hero doesn't mean you have to be the villain."
Norie Okana Norie Okana raises a brow. "I don't believe that." she says softly. "I see not reason to believe I've been lied to." she says bluntly. "If anyone tells me otherwise well it's a case of he said-she said and quite frankly, I believe the 'he'."

On the concept of leaving... "I'm tired of that." she says quietly as she falls more slack. "All they care about...is if I smile. or laugh. or act normal." she says quietly. "I don't even have any good emotional capacity. That went away when I became this... thing. I can't smile. and laugh." she says quietly. "And all they do. Is push. 'I should smile once in a while' and so on." she says angrily.

"The only people. Who haven't pushed me. Are my friends. With who I work with." she says softly. "Who are happy when I'm just...neutrally existing." she says quietly.
Setsuna Meiou Nurse Meiou snorts, "Yeah, if you'd ever spoken to the girl in question for five seconds, you'd KNOW you'd been lied to. She's simply not CAPABLE of deception or subtlety. Trust me, I'd know."

She frowns and sighs, "And did you let them know you effectively had a case of clinical depression? Because if you DID and they kept pushing then THEY were in the wrong, not you. I mean, smiling to fake your brain into thinking it's happy IS a thing that CAN work...but only for SOME people and never for long."

She then shrugs, "If you have friends that don't push and let you be when you want to be let be, that's all well and good...but if they're trying to get you to commit murder for them? One might question the motives of someone doing that."
Norie Okana Norie Okana frowns. "I have no desire to speak to a --- I'll hold my tongue." she says, angrily, leaning a bit as she frowns.

"I can't...smile... not..." she says. "I can't. Force myself to smile. To laugh." she says. "These are not things I can do. I tell my ... sparkleskirt friends. That I can't feel these things. That I can't smile. or laugh... or..or.. anything like that. And some, Many. Still push." she says quietly.

"It.."

"I can laugh and smile. But it's. Twisted. I..."

"Like laughing. At other's pain.. situations.. bad.. situations like... nrg..."

"I keep. That secret. Nobody likes. Someone who. Laughs at those things. Find them extremely funny now... and I don't like it either. It's not even a normal laugh it's like...like some ridiculous oujo laugh. From an anime or something."
Setsuna Meiou Nurse Meiou hrms, "And does anything make you start feeling more...for lack of a better term, 'normal'?"

She frowns, then offers, "...more like you felt before..." A hand is waved to kind of encompass the current situation.

She then sighs, "...and as I said, anyone who keeps pushing in that kind of case is actually the one in the wrong, not you..."
Norie Okana Norie Okana frowns. "Nothing has made me feel normal." she says quietly. "Nothing I used to like. Or do. and I got kicked out of dancing club for. for all this atittude and... 'attacking' other students and ... it wasn't really attacking you just...touch in dance class and I had no idea what was g-going on and...look. I'm even. In the dorms. Because my family didn't know what to do with me. And this 'attitude' stuff."

"I found. Donuts. Keep me centered. Neutral is..is all I can hope for. Not. feeling much of anything. Good. or bad." she says quietly.

She frowns. "Lots do that. Lots that know my situation. They still push. I.... look. You probably."

"Don't even care. Not after the things I've done." she says quietly. "I mean. My body isn't... even normal. It's a dark energy construct. Now." she says quietly.
Setsuna Meiou The Nurse shakes her head, "...it's more that I am now in a very awkward situation, Miss Okana. While I would very much like to help you, I also have an obligation to protect someone you very nearly murdered."

She lets out a deep sigh, "...right now, this is neutral territory. While we're both here, I can't really do anything...but once you leave, I can't do anything else for you. Alternately, we can go get Inai-sensei and try to work something out that DOESN'T involve things getting worse than they already are."
Norie Okana Norie Okana shakes her head. "If you're insisting on punishing me, you can." she says quietly. "I will sit here, and take whatever it is you're going to ... to try to hurt me with. If it manages to kill me, that is only a plus in my book, honestly." she says quietly.

"But if your neutral ground is desired. Fine. I understand. I'm expecting some kind of retribution." she says more quieter.A=

"So that is not unexpected. But I made my own promises and obligations. They are just very counter to yours." she says quieter.
Setsuna Meiou Nurse Meiou stares at Norie for a few long moments, then shakes her head, "...Miss Okana...if you're not intending to attempt to make things better..."

She frowns, then goes on, "...then there's not much else I can do to help you. I'll just remind you that on the one side you have some people who were genuinely trying to help even if they were unable to comprehend that their methods of attempting to do so were causing distress and on the other you have people who were using you as a dispsable pawn to murder someone to serve their own ends and not yours. And also remember that there are more than a few amongst those whom you deride that would still hold out a helping hand to you even now..."
Norie Okana Noire Okana looks away. "I can't make things better. I've been trying incessantly to fix myself. But every potential fix comes with a sunk cost. Do I take someone's pure heart because I do not have one, which may be the problem? Do I drain someone to death to fix the problem? All these. Concepts have costs. Dreadful awful costs so far."

"I'm tired of these lines and hitting them and crossing them and then making a bunch of people upset." she says angrily as she sighs and balls her fingers into her palm.

"I'm sorry Neiou-sensi, I will oblige this area as neutral territory. But I understand if you attack me outside this room." she says.

"I'm leaving if you feel the need to come after me now, then by all means. We will fight in the hall. Then there's not much I can do to stop you."

"Thank you... for the gloves." she says quietly, looking down at her hands, before she turns to leave.
