Norie Okana Norie Okana sends a text to Naru.

TXT: Hey. Can we talk? I'll be in the cafeteria.5RTXT: I have information. And Donuts.

Indeed. she's sitting in the cafeteria in front of a box of fresh donuts and currently eating them. They're from Karou's, You can tell because the donut hole is a heart shape.

These ones are iced in chocolate. She's waiting for Naru to come, while she also reads some new vampire manga she picked up. Forbidden love between a human and a vampire. ~siggggh~
Naru Osaka TXT from Naru to Norie: Sure! See you shortly.

Naru swings through the cafeteria proper to collect herself up some coffee and a little bit of breakfast that isn't sugar. Not much, because doughnuts really are more appealing. She's carrying her tray, her satchel looped across her as she looks for Norie. Her smile is warm as she spots the vampire, heading over to join her.

"Morning. I hope I didn't keep you waiting too long." Naru comments as she slides into a seat at the table. "Ooh, whatcha reading?"
Norie Okana Norie Okana looks up and greets in her usual neutral manner. "Hello." she says softly. "Naru-chan. Sorry I haven't been talking much." she says as she notions to the box of donuts and motions. "I've been kind of in ... low places recently." she says softly.

She huhs? "Oh, it's a manga called. 'Don't Fear the Dark', part of the 'Vampire Lovelies' collection. Mostly. Silly romance stories. She blushes a little and shakes her head.

"Sorry about the attack the other day. But I have information from that day---'

She moves in closer and says, more quietly. "Conflict at the shrines is what Nephrite wants. I would imagine the violence is doing. Something he needs." she says nibbling a donut. "The dark energy, as far as I can tell. Was just a lure." she says with a shrug.

"Also."

"What do you know about....Purification?" she asks quizzically. "Anything?"
Naru Osaka "It's alright, I've been caught up in stuff too." Naru replies with a rueful smile. "It's been a lull of brain no brianing. I hope you're doing a little better?"

Naru leans in to consider the manga and smiles. "Is it good? I mean.. I assume so, or you wouldnt be reading it." She grins brightly, apparently not at all put off by silly romance stories.

"Mostly what I know about purification is that it hurts like /stupid/ when you're chock full of dark energy." Naru wrinkles her nose. "I noticed you got caught in it, although I didn't realize you could go incorporeal. That's pretty cool." She nods at the mention of fights being what Nephrite wanting. "They are just a distraction, right?"
Norie Okana "I'm unsure." she says. "But he said the conflict was important. For there to be a fight. So I shot a ball of dark energy at the red girl with black hair." she sighs and leans her head against the table with her arm. 'Oh, the manga? It's..it's fine. It's about a girl who's in love with a vampire, but their love is forbidden by laws. It's set in a Victorian setting!" she says.

"That...form is. Me." she says quietly. "That's when I'm not using any energy to hide like I am now." she says quietly. "I prefer to not be like that. It's...like. Nothing but...but a common youma..." she says a little with a sad huff.

"That purification hurt...it..it was like... everything was great for a moment-- and then it wasn't and nothing but screaming torment..." she says with a more frustrated huff this time. "It made me feel .. human.. and then..." she shakes her head. "Hard to explain the sensations. I don't have a body to go to back to. I'm just. Dark energy. a construct. You know?" she says.
Naru Osaka "Mmm. I wonder why you guys needed a conflict there. That is interesting." Naru leans back, holding her coffee in both hands as she considers. "Previous shrines, it's been a distraction, but now I do wonder if they are providing some sort of energy in and of themselves."

Naru nods in understanding at the mention of the incorporeal form being Norie's true form. "Ooooh. I can imagine that it's really inefficient in so many ways. Like handling things, and eating and the like." She quirks her head. "I wonder if you /had/ a body, if you could be purified back to human? Might take more than one blast or something though."
Norie Okana Norie Okana shrugs. "I don't know. But mayube the fights and conflicts at these places have been powering something else. I don't know the full story of the Midnight Tokyo Project." she says quietly. She sighs a little. "Oh. It... when I'm. That." she says. "I can still work with the world. But everything feels so wrong because I don't even have feet." she says with a snort.

"It's.. better to be me. Right? So. I expend the energy for the illusion, Also I have feet." she says.

"What exactly has been going on with 'your guys'.... research?" she asks. "Into this project?"
Naru Osaka "I mean.. needless to say.. I also do not know the full story of the Midnight Tokyo Project." Naru can't help but laugh softly at that obvious statement. "Research into it is slow and frustrating, mostly. We've small bits of scattered information and it's hard to sort out how.. or if.. they all fit together." Her answer is honest, if nothing else. "The hazard of everyone being not just in school.. but most in the same classes. If we have a ton of homework, or tests and stuff.. we all do and things pause while we deal with that for a while." Amongst other priorities.

"I think it's better to be you." Naru nods in agreement. "I'd miss fingers, personally, but I can totally see how it all feels wrong. Worth the energy."
