Tinyplot: How the Adora Crumbles

Hinoiri Kirara has posed:
The time had finally come. Sunbreaker was standing just outside the city, holding her phone up and letting them see the area on the camera. Sunackys were running about, setting up little towers. In a lot of ways, it looked like she was setting up another Eclipse Zone. It wasn't, though.

It was a trap for She-ra. A wide open area, far from civilians. No leylines, so not a place she could put the towers, anyway. "Hey, you drop that it's coming out of your pay!" she snapped at a sunacky who had almost dropped one of the little pillars.

It was a trap. Granted, it'd be at least an hour before even the first part was ready, for now? All they had for it was a clearing and a lack of civilians.

"As you can see, preparations are going smoothly," Sunbreaker said before turning the phone back around to focus on her. "Everyone else ready? Catra, you good?" she asked. Well, of all of them... she knew Catra was going to have the roughest time with this. And the one most likely to... well... if she was being a bitch (which she often was), screw it all up for all of them. Now, they could see her on the phone. "You have everything you need to get here? And good job on the location," Sunbreaker said. "I flew around a bit, but shouldn't have anyone stumbling on this. Even with our luck." Okay, there was a... bit of smugness when she said it.

Adora Rainbowfist has posed:
Adora is not okay.

She-Ra is even worse.

For several weeks now, Adora has been getting worse, and worse, and worse. Normally Dark Energy burns out over a few days, but this has proven to be something quite unique. For one, Adora isn't an Etherian like Catra or Shadow-Weaver or Double Trouble. She's an Eternian. Her energy is supremely unique on a planet like this, and it is something that has never been combined with Dark Energy until now. They two combined and wrapped about one another, bolstering and growing with each negative emotion and rough action. Instead of spurring her anger and then burning out in one big explosion, that explosion comes...and then increases the spasming, shuddering conglomeration of Energies like throwing tinder on a fire.

There is little of the original Adora left inside the shell of fury and murderous intent that is She-Ra. Her actions are roughly guided by her own wants, but twisted beyond belief, and bent towards utter malice. If She-Ra wasn't an engine of absolute destruction, it's probably the sort of thing Obsidian would kill to get in a lab for further study. As it is, though, that is not happening.

Following sightings and the traces of energy, the beast finds herself outside of Tokyo proper. She moves along the ground, low and glaring, as she creeps closer to Sunbreaker and the trap as it comes together too late. That's her, she thinks. That's the girl who caused all of this. I almost killed Catra because of her. She'll never trust me or love me now. Everything I had before will never, ever exist now. It's HER FAULT. She needs to PAY.

She pushes off of the ground. She-Ra doesn't exactly fly, but the force of her leaps are so strong that she might as well be. She crosses dozens of meters in the singular bound, her sword clutched white-knuckle tight. She lands behind the girl hard enough to send earth erupting in all directions. Unlike every fight she's had on this planet, or the ones she had back home, she does not pull her blow. She rises from her crouch in a blue of speed and jabs forward to attempt to run the villainess cleanly through!

just a glance at the mighty, towering She-Ra shows something is wrong. Her usually golden and riainbow light crackles oddly, and dark, shadowy energy underlines it all. Her eyes are wide and manic, and her Sword of Protection has an ill, monstrous gleam to it.

"DIE!," the former champion of Etheria roars, the voice part girl, part beast.

She-Ra is not okay.

Hinoiri Kirara has posed:
Sunbreaker looked relatively bored in the phone, holding it up towards her face until--

"Shi--" But any cursing she had was cut short. The explosion made her drop her phone and it landed, the camera facing up...

And seeing Sunbreaker run through by the sword. It took Sunbreaker a moment to realize what even happened. The blade sticking out through her abdomen. She stared down, lifting her hands up... to touch it...

And then the pain. There wasn't any cry for help. Begs for mercy. Only a surprised, disoriented girl looking down at the blade. And when it was pulled free?

Sunbreaker dropped to the ground, collapsing so part of her leg obsufcated the camera. They'd be able to see the sunackies charging and piling on She-ra... but that wouldn't hold for long.

Minutes?

Seconds?

But there was nothing from Sunbreaker. The piercing blow had come within inches of killing her. It was likely only thanks to her own magic, her henshin, she was still alive. The blade had pierced through her and, thanks to the magic, almost been guided into her body. Turning what should have been a fatal injury...

Into a critical one.

But it was a grievous injury. If her henshin dropped down... she'd... not make it. Even if her internals had been somewhat spared... the injury had been *reduced*. Not blocked.

Sunbreaker was dying.

Takashi Agera has posed:
Riventon, at the time Sunbreaker calls him, is back at base, directing a rather hodgepodge force of Sunackies, Kindabads, and some prototypes of the new trenchcoat-and-hat youma that Easter had started producing. None of them were particularly dangerous solo, but there were a lot of them, like Riventon had gone down to Crazy Eddy's Discount Jobber Youma Store.

Despite all speaking in different 'dialects' of random phrases they actually seemed to be working well together as they worked through an armory, most of them grabbing melee weapons of some shoddy workmanship but some taking Dark Energy rifles. "Alright guys, everybody who wants to get up and scrap over there, all of you with the ranged weapons, I want you to fall behind cover and wait for the signal." He says, as he turns back to the phone. "Yeah, we'll be on our way in about... half an hour?" He tells Sunbreaker. "I let Catra and the green one know. And I sent a message to Mami-san but she's probably in a Labyrnth so she may not get it."

"Catra seemed to think she was really coming to kill you and that we didn't have..." And then Sunbreaker dropped the phone. "...much. time."

Okay there was bad and then there was this. A sword sticking out of a teammate was far worse than bad. Swords should not do that. This was not part of the plan.

"To hell with the plan lets go! Door, Door! Anybody who doesn't have a weapon is using fists! Door, portal to coordinates already set!" he says, racing ahead of the group. "Axion, tell Double Trouble and Catra that they need to hurry the hell up, She-Ra is early and Sunbreaker's down."

    <<Already did.>>

Riventon and the crew of youma rush to the scene, and Riventon announces his presence directly by just blasting She-Ra from the left flank as the crew pours in a jumbled mess, junkyard weapons gleaming.

<<SCHATTENSCHLAG.>> (Shadow Strike.) Calls Riventon's device as the familiar blast of inky-purple-black energy shoots through the air like a high pressure ink gyser towards She-Ra.

    "Back off, psycho!"

<<Sunbreaker will require immediate extraction and medical care. Injuries critical. Status very poor.>> Axion telepathically informs Catra and DT.

Double Trouble has posed:
The green one was Double Trouble who didn't at all feel any remorse about pouring gasoline on the bonfire of Adora's dark energy experience. They knew this was all going to come to a glorious conclusion, and they were ready. They had a plan. They were going to show up as Shadow Weaver and shame Adora for resorting to violence. It would really sink in as the dark energy wore off and the emotional trauma would be delicious to witness.

They knew Sunbreaker would get hurt in the process, but it was a small price to pay to mess with Adora like this. Besides, the girl needed to learn a lesson about being more careful. Really, she had whatever Adora was going to dish out coming to her.

So, when they got the message from Axion that Sunbreaker was down, they weren't surprised. They were expecting She-Ra to surprise them. That girl learned a lot fighting in Etheria. She might be full of dark energy and making stupid choices, but she wasn't stupid. As soon as they heard they duskported.

Duskporting is an imprecise tool, and so they ended up a mile or so away. That's nothing to them, though, with their super speed. Looking like Shadow Weaver they just zoom across the terrain toward where they know Sunbreaker to be.

And when they arrive they're told her injuries are critical. Status very poor. In need of immediate extraction.

"ADORA!!" Shadow Weaver roars as she closes the rest of the distance toward Sunbreaker. "Are all of you following in Sailor Moon's footsteps and just choosing lethal violence now?"

But then she gets to Sunbreaker and freezes, just staring down at her. Frozen.

Catra has posed:
Duskporting is an imprecise tool indeed. Catra finds herself in wholly the wrong place, and has to cross a comparatively large amount of distance in order to get where she's going. Luckily, she came with her motorcyle, so the cat races across open ground on the bike which is entirely not meant for this kind of terrain, but whatever, she stole it anyway.

And so it seems she's the last one to arrive at the gathering, just after hearing about Sunbreaker being down and requiring immediate extraction. Medical care. Status poor. She hits the brakes hard enough that the rear wheel of the bike comes a couple of inches off the ground. This isn't the plan. Adora isn't supposed to arrive early and skewer Sunbreaker like a slaughtered lamb. And the look on her face is...

Does Catra feel guilty?

The feline revs the engine and charges forwards, popping a wheelie and driving right into the action, stopping just short of driving right into Riventon's magical assault. She hits the kickstand and kills the engine as she slides off the bike, walking up to stand beside Riventon as she calls forth her own sword; Powersend rests on her shoulder as she looks up at the dark energy crazed She-Ra.

"Hey Adora," she greets pleasantly, as if Sunbreaker wasn't laying inches from death just... right there. "Didn't think you'd actually do it. Guess I was wrong. Lost all two of your marbles I guess."

Adora Rainbowfist has posed:
She-Ra stands over Sunbreaker, sneering as she watches the girl crumple to the ground. She raises the blade over her head and prepares to bring it down, when she's suddenly swarmed by the minions. The blonde snarls and whips her blade around in a wide arc, destroying a dozen in one slash. Energy crackles around her and she roars again.

"I'm not done with her yet! I'm not done! Get off me!"

She slams her boot down into the ground, sending out an eruption of cracking earth to send more of them tumbling down into the crevice. It is an insane show of power. She she is attacked and denied her 'revenge', her emotions swell further, and the Dark Energy swells and blossoms with it. The cracling, flowing energy becomes darker, the aura stretching outward and sapping color from the landscape.

The blast from Riventon catches her off-guard, and sends her stumbling back before she brings the blade up to parry the remaining blast. "UGH! YOU! I REMEMBER YOU! I'm the psycho?? When I'm done with you two I'm going to tear Obsidian down by its PILLARS! I'll do what should have been done a long time ago! Come here!"

Even her voice is slightly distorted now. She takes another wide swing, but this time she turns her blade flat, to use it as a scoop to launch a dozen or so youma at Riventon! This is immediatly followed by an eruption of paling rainbow energy exploding towards him. ...And then Shadow Weaver arrives and Riventon is forgotten.

"SHUT UP! I'm tired of this, I'm tired of you! Catra is like this because of YOU!" Suddenly there is a new target for all of that fury and hate, and it's entirely the fake Shadow Weaver.

The former Champion turns from Riventon and leaps at Shadow Weaver, swinging the blade while in mid-air. An eruption of rainbow energy, now so pale it's practically black and white, but even more powerful then before, roars towards her as she careens towards the ground!

She comes down to earth like a meteor, sending up an explosion of earth and terrain, and dust kicks up all around her. When CDatra calls out to her she is a sillhouette, surrounded in crackling, flowing energy. "...Catra, I..." The briefest moment of regret washes away as her face comes into view, the tears on her cheeks literally turning to steam as her energy boils. "I'm killing them all Catra. I'm...I'm going to kill every one of them but you."

Hinoiri Kirara has posed:
Sunbreaker was... not going to be moving anytime soon. She was on the ground, bleeding.... slowly. For how grievous the wound was? It should have been a lot worse. But it was mostly just the magic. Reducing it. Even then, the only movement she did was when She-Ra's world shaking flipped her back over onto her back.

But hey, the cavalry was here.

She looked up to Shadow Weaver and... just... gave a weak, pathetic smile. "S-sorry... I..." And then her henshin flickered. Just for an instant. And she made a pained whimper. Her hand over the wound. "I... I think... she got me..." she whispered.

And then She-ra. She gasped, her eyes going wide when she saw She-ra running AT Shadow Weaver. And her left hand, the one not holding her wound, lifted. A tuft of fire formed... and then poofed out. A dying ember, at best. Pathetic. She couldn't even try and protect her like this...

Her left hand fell limp to her side and she let out another soft, pained gasp. "S-sorry... I guess... I... w-was... wrong... about my destiny..."

And her henshin flickered.

Takashi Agera has posed:
Riventon doesn't let Sunbreaker's situation distract him now. He wants to help her, but that's not his role here. He's not the evac. Doubletrouble is the evac. That much is clear by who went to who and where. <<Get her out of here.>> Riventon tells 'shadow weaver' through Axion as he raises his hand.

<<GEFANGIS DER DUNKLEN MAGIE>> (Dark Magic Prison) calls the device as Riventon seals this area off from further interlopers, a rapidly expanding bubble that looks like murky watercolor liquid replacing the real world with the fake one of a Barrier.

<<There's a weak point in the barrier directly behind you. Just run straight out and you can slip through the barrier.>> Riventon notes to Double Trouble via the telepathic link of his device. <<Get to the boy's dorm, room XXX, there's a guy there who's a total soft heart and can heal - and he'll heal anyone if you cry a little, even her. She needs more help than you or I can give. Go. Hurry. We'll deal with muscles mc crazy here.>>

Riventon turns to She-Ra. "Alright, welcome to thunderd-" Riventon begins, and is cut off because he has to put up a round shield to cover himself from flying Sunackeys and Kindabads. A second shield has to be created to cover against the rainbow energy, and it still detonates all around him, leaving him standing but looking battered and smoking.

And still, even in this state, Riventon keeps to what passes for the plan he's hastily put together.

<<Catra, get ready to counter attack after she comes in to hit me. She will.>> he warns Catra via that Device telepathy, before raising his voice to be heard in the chaos of terrain destruction that She-Ra is creating.

"Hey, She-Ra! Don't blame smokeyrobes over there just because you have a fantasy world that exists in your mind but you don't have the strength to make happen." He tells her, despite his scratched up, partly charred on the edges Barrier Coat. "Not everybody gets their dreams. And your dream, of being with Catra - it's not something you're strong enough to make happen. And Dark Energy can't give you enough power to overcome your absolute weakness - because it's one of spirit, it's a weakness of discipline, it's a weakness of focus. Otherwise you'd still be rational now. So just give up and go back where you came from - Alone. Where you belong."

Double Trouble has posed:
Shadow Weaver just stands over Sunbreaker frozen staring down. They knew she was down. They knew she was critical. But Double Trouble was still not prepared to actually see their girlfriend on death's door like that.

They did this. They pushed Adora to go see Catra first because they knew it would make things so much worse. They wanted to make it worse, to maximize the drama. They even wanted Sunbreaker to get hurt a little. But this? This isn't what they wanted at all. This is terrible.

This is consequences and they don't like it at all.

But then there's Riventon in their mind and She-Ra bearing down on them with an energy beam and Double Trouble has only one option left. They melt into a pool of inky blackness that dodges Adora's attack and then coalesces once again down on the ground at Sunbreaker's side.

Except it's not Shadow Weever. With flawless green skin, lustrous yellow hair, and an amazing mesh bodysuit it is unmistakably Double Trouble. Their girlfriend is dying and if this is the last moment they have with her, they want her to see them. It's what she prefers.

"Don't you dare die on me you stupid unicorn," they hiss, as they slide their arms under Sunbreaker and just lift her up like she's nothing. "I'm going to get you to some healing, as fast as I can, my love."

And then they're off toward the hole in the barrier. They can't duskport away until they're outside. They're fast, but it's pretty far off.

Catra has posed:
Catra's a useless, lazy jerk who takes absolutely nothing seriously (or at least pretends she doesn't), but even with her attitude and outward reaction, this is far too serious to be taken lightly. Riventon's telling her to get ready to counter attack, Double Trouble is busy getting Sunbreaker to safety, the low-grade minions are all getting chopped into bits (not that anyone cares about that really, they're like rent-a-cops but from Ikea). The feline doesn't actually listen to Riventon though, she's got her own ideas.

Right now, she just moves to cover Double Trouble and Sunbreaker's exit, just in case Adora has ideas about chasing them down. At least she can be in the way, so that if the currently deranged chosen one does want to make an issue out of it, she can't just unleash battle magic.

Well, she can, she'd just have to get Catra in the process.

The feline flicks Powersend out to her side, and drops the point to touch the ground by her right foot. Anyone who doesn't know her might think she was just... not ready. Her ears lay flat against her head, and her body language is at odds with the malicious smile wrapped from ear to ear.

"Oh, so Etheria's perfect girl finally came down to our level, that's nice of you," she drawls out, smooth as butter. "But do you really think it's going to matter? Do you think it's going to make me change your mind about you? Because it isn't, Adora. You're living in a dream world, and you need to wake up." She shrugs her shoulders. "Or don't, whatever, I don't care."

The feline flips the sword up, holding it relaxed at her side with the blade at an angle behind her back, visible above her left shoulder, as she walks towards where Adora is likely counter-attacking Riventon by now. Might as well at least some pretense of following orders. "I don't belong to you. I never did and I never will. But you know... maybe someday... I'll find someone who says they care about me, like you did once, but actually *means it*."

Hinoiri Kirara has posed:
Sunbreaker didn't see anyone else. All she saw was... Double Trouble. and she understood. As she was scooped up... a hand, very gently... reached up. To cup Double Trouble's cheek. "I'm... I'm sorry... I don't... think... this can... can h-heal..." Her henshin flickered a third time.

And then, as if what Riventon and Catra said weren't enough to torment She-ra... she smiled up at Double Trouble.

"I'm... sorry I couldn't... keep all my promises to you... I'm sorry... I wasn't... strong... e-enough... You... deserved... b-better...... better..."

And then her hand fell from Double Trouble's cheek and her henshin flickered a fourth time. For a moment, she was Hinoiri. Held in Double Trouble's arms.

Before the henshin came back. She was trying to hold herself together... Trying so, so hard...

But it was a losing battle.

Adora Rainbowfist has posed:
"It...it wasn't a fantasy, you bastard! We were TOGETHER! We were GOING TO BE MARRIED!" Adora roars like an engine, and power erupts around her, cracking the ground and splotting a nearby tree into burning splinters. "Why do other people get to keep their happy ending and we can't?! WE SAVED THE GALAXY!"

She straightens and turns as Shadow-Weaver dodges her attack...only to reform as Double Trouble. Her eyes go wide and she's momentarily stunned. Shadow Weaver here is Double Trouble? Wait. What? How? She sputters and then snarls. "Double Trouble! You stupid gremlin! Of COURSE someone like you is here and with THEM!" At that point, though, Riventon finishes his verbal assault, and he hears the part about deserving to be alone. More tears turn to steam and she whirls to face him. She'll find Double Trouble later. They have some questions to answer. She can't spiral with the 'how much has Double Trouble been messing with me?' bit right now, but she absolutely WILL once she can catch her breath. THat's a whole field of thought that is going to torture her exactly as much as that green jerk is hoping it will.

Her gaze moves towards Catra and her nostrils flare like a wild animal. "You never....we belonged to eachother..."

Her words stutter and then she howls. She turns from Catra and moves towards Riventon with a blur of speed. Her sword rakes along the ground as she does so, tearing it asunder and sending rubble in all directions. She brings it up, sending an eruption of rock towards the boy. She follows it up with a leap, closing the distance in a rush of slashes. "STOP IT! SHUT UP! STOP IT! STOPITSTOPITSTOP...it...stop it..." She's sobbing, her tears burning away. Her swings strike a tree, and it is hit with such force that it bursts into flame, sending embers flying every which way, and kicking ash up into the sky.

Amid all the slashes, she reaches out to try and grab Riventon by the front of his outfit...and she hurls him. She hurls him hard. She pulls back and attempts to launch him in the direction of as much pain as she can possibly muster. "...stop it..."

Takashi Agera has posed:
Riventon says those words and stands there with a smug smirk on his face. That's right, you crazy girl. Come and hit me. Come on and attack. Leave yourself open. Take the bait.

And Riventon's confident, he's a mage, this girl is just some crazy girl with a sword who can't even manage Dark Energy. He'll shield it and Catra will attack from behind and then he'll be able to open up full force too. Yeah. All he has to do is soak one sword hit. One big strike. As she turns to him, he creates a triangular Belkan shield, and infuses it with dark energy so that the glyphs themselves drip with liquid ink as the shield stands strong in front of him.

She-Ra comes. The force of the hit might be distributed through the Tri Shield riventon puts up, the shimmering triangular guard standing firm against the kinetic energy. If this was a normal hit. Or an abnormal hit. Or even an average supernatural hit like might come from a Belkan Device. But this is not a hit like any of those.

Because with the first hit, the sword cracks the barrier, and the second hit removes it, and the rest of the hits of the sword are clanging loudly against Riventon's sigiled Barrier Jacket, cuts and marks appearing on it but none of them is deep, but each of them cost a sizeable percentage of his energy reserves, and then the tree is hit, and the flaming debris hits him, and then when She-Ra's arn wraps around his armored shirt and pulls it away from him, pulling him up by it, lifting him up like he weighs nothing...

For once, in Riventon's eyes, for a brief but clear moment as he looks at She-Ra, there is actual fear.

And then she throws him violently, and his energy is only focused on keeping him alive, because he goes into a building, barrier-created but a building none the less, walls of brick and wood, tumbling through the wall, bouncing off the ground and leaving successively smaller craters in the quasi-real floor until he finally hits the wall on the other side of the building and, instead of going through this one, collapses into it as rubble from his violent journey collects around him. And for a moment there's no sneering or insults or plans. For a moment, from Riventon's direction, everything is coldly silent except the occasional chunk of debris falling down.

Double Trouble has posed:
"Don't you dare give up on me now," they hiss as they sprint at their top speed. It's very fast. The pair of them are practically a blur. "And don't talk, darling. You need to conserve your energy."

Riventon had given them a room number, but that was on campus. They could duskport out, but the only place they were sure they could get to was Obsidian Tower. There was no way they could get her to the dorm from there in time. So they were just going to have to try to get as close to campus as they could and hope for the best.

She wasn't dying in their arms or anything.

"Forget all your other promises," they say as they come up to the weak spot in the barrier. "Just don't die and we'll figure the rest out later."

Then they step out and the pair of them are gone.

Catra has posed:
Catra stands alone.

Well, not alone alone, She-Ra's here. But she's on her own against a superior foe with no back up and no help. But then, what else is new? She's always been alone, hasn't she? And She-Ra's back is turned, and Riventon gave her an opening.

"Gyaaaaaaaah!!" Catra runs past behind Adora, letting out a yell as she finally strikes. Everyone else is unleashing magic and lasers and casting spells; Catra just has her sword and claws. She swings the blade hard at Adora's legs, and the weapon strikes hard against the Chosen One's armor; not an attack that was ever meant to get through, but just to unbalance. After running past, the feline spins around and leaps back, delivering a solid jump-kick into Adora's side; she ducks, jumping forwards and punching, lashing out at the warrior's kidney, before coming up and going for the real target.

Her sword.

Catra winds up with Powersend, the weapon taking on a purple, crackling aura of its own and a noise that echoes her scream and leaves a trail in the air as she swings it, catching She-Ra's blade just above the hilt. She strikes with all her strength and rage focused on that point, and at just the right angle where nobody's wrist could possibly take it. Not even a Chosen One's wrist.

As the sword flies from Adora's grip, Catra follows through, dropping and running on all fours the short distance to where it is lodged in the ground. Straightening, she closes her own hand around the hilt and uproots it, before turning to face the corrupted Eternian once more.

"That's enough," she pants, holding both blades at her sides so they cross behind her back. The energy crackling around Powersend lingers, and tendrils of it crawl unnoticed up around her wrist, reaching towards her elbow. "Enough, Adora. It's time to let go of all the Dark Energy. It's not you. I'm glad it made you be honest for once, but you have to let it go now. Just... stand still. You don't even have to do anything. Even a box of rocks like you should be able to handle that."

Adora Rainbowfist has posed:
She watches Riventon sail through a building, but she feels no measure of satisfaction from it. She just feels more anger. He couldn't even put up more of a fight? She should go after him and-

The blow to her leg makes her stumble a bit, and she begins to whirl towards Catra and her onslaught Her armored grieves and her magical energy absorbs most of the blow, but it's enough to cause that stumble. "Catra--!" The blow connects with her side and she grunts, taking a step back. She swings, but Catra ducks under it. She begins to shout something when the claws to the kidney connect. Once again, the combination of energy and her armor absorbs most of it, but pain shoots up her side, and she roars again. It throws her off enough for the hit to her blade to do exactly what was intended.

The Sword of Justice flies from her grip, leaving a flickering trail of Dark and Etherian energy in a wake behind it. She reaches out and grabs at empty air. She turns fully to stare at Catra, finding her holding both blades. Those words hit her like follow-up blows, connecting one after another, and for the briefest moment it looks like the girl is going to back down. Instead, she charges.

As she sprints towards the beastgirl she slams her bracers together, and there is a deafening eruption of energy splashing forward in an arc towards the girl. She closes the distance with it, using the flat of her hand to try and slap the flat of one blade away before she reaches out to grab Catra by the chest and lift her off of the ground. She tries to hold her up above her, too close for real swings of the magic swords.

"STUPID CAT! YOU STUPID CAT! I'M DOING EVERYTHING FOR YOU! FOR US!" If she managed to get that hold in, she brings the girl down long enough to bring a knee up, brutally, into her stomach, only to lift her back up again. As she lifts her, though, one can assume Catra is struggling. The grip on her clothing slips, and she moves to catch her...her hand ending up gripping her throat just like in the previous fight.

Catra has posed:
Catra was prepared for She-Ra's counter attack, in case she decided not to cooperate. Or at least, she thought she was.

She brings both swords around, crossing them in front of her to ward off Adora's energy burst; it pushes her backwards, and as she skids to a halt Adora bursts through the kicked up dust and debris before it clears, slamming into Catra well before she's ready for it. Powersend is knocked from her grasp immediately, and clatters to the ground, sticking in point first with the hilt waving in the air, as the feline hammers at Adora's shoulder with the pommel of the Sword of Justice.

At this angle, it's more of a gesture than anything else. The feline sucks in a breath, just in time to lose it again as She-Ra's knee hammers her abdomen; now she drops the Sword of Justice as well, and it likewise sticks in the ground point first. And now, just like the other night, Catra is struggling, feet off the ground as she grips Adora's arm, trying to pry herself loose. She tries, increasingly desperate, to pull Adora's fingers loose; as she goes increasingly pale in the face and her eyes peel wide. She gasps, writhing in that grip, with far greater strength than her own.

She stretches one hand out, pushing against Adora's face and trying to just... push her away, that way. But her vision is already starting to go dark around the edges; and it seems like Adora is just... so far away, now. Her hand drops, fingers brushing over Adora's cheek, almost as if she were being strangely affectionate, were she not gasping for air.

Her claws extend as she still fights; instinctively, they dig in to whatever they can. She-Ra's armor. Adora's face. Slowly, almost carefully, they descend, leaving deep marks down over the jaw bone as the feline hovers on the verge of unconsciousness.

From within the building Riventon was thrown into, there is a smudge of black-purple ink that seeps out from the rubble pile which presumably contains Riventon. It spasms until it forms a semi-liquid, slimy looking purple hand that grabs at the chunks of concrete and launches them across the room. A small robot appears, and the hand grabs it and also throws it across the room, too. Then it returns to pulling away rubble, slowly uncovering Riventon.

<<Just a moment. I need to un-dislocate my... several things.>> Riventon tells Catra and the new arrival, as the magic-born hand, which is currently being emitted from Riventon's gauntlet's black gem, slowly wraps around his shoulder, and Riventon closes his eyes and looks away.

Riventon's green eyes, flaring with light and energy, are visible first, glowing through the shadows, shortly before he rushes out of the hole he entered the building in, flying above the ground. He doesn't speak this time, but he stretches out his hand. <<Now.>>

From the sides and back of She-Ra, black-and-purple shots ring out from the strange weaponry provided to the remaining low-level youma, who have set up firing positions. They're not particularly strong, not so damaging, but there's a lot of them from all sides. While they're firing, energy collects in Riventon's outstretched hand. Similar energy balls rip into existence in a horizontal line that outstretches some distance from Riventon. He does not have a snarky reply, or an insult, or a comment. It seems for the moment, she has shut him up. Axion does, however, call the attack, as each sphere starts to unleash a withering amount of small, ink-jet laser blasts towards She-Ra as well... each shot targeted directly at She-Ra and not at the feline fighter next to her.

    <<UBERLADENES SPERRFEUER>> (Overcharge Barrage)

Mami Tomoe has posed:
Mami doesn't have a device and she wasn't in range of Axion's telepathy when the message went out. She was inside a Labyrinth fighting a witch. It's her job, after all. Riventon doesn't like it when she does them solo, but she has to just to make sure she keeps her edge. It almost never works out poorly.

This time it worked out well. As the Labyrinth faded around her and she plucked up the grief seed, tucking it into a pocket, her cellphone vibrated. It was a text message. She-Ra is early and Sunbreaker's down.

They say there's no rest for the wicked, and Mami is definitely turning out to be that. If she gets wicked enough, she might even become a witch. She tucks her phone back into its pocket and shoots off a ribbon to lift her up so she can swing away.

She makes her way across Tokyo swinging from one ribbon and then another, looking like some sort of moe comic book hero. She arrives just as Riventon is pulling himself out of a building. She swings down through the barrier--Riventon clued her into how to do that with his--and comes to land right next to him as he shoots off so many little laser blasts.

"I hope I'm not too late, I came as quickly as I could," she says, sounding ever so polite and concerned about the social mis-step of her tardiness, and not the utter destruction all around her.

But that lasts only a moment as she turns to look around. "What a mess this turned out to be," she says with a sigh, shaking her head. "Well, time to clean it up."

She jumps up and soars in the way only a mahou can. Ribbons shoot out from her hands. So many ribbons. They coil together to form a massive gun the size of a Ford F-450 Super Duty. The bore of its barrel is so large it's ammunition must be the size of bowling balls. And yet somehow it all comes down to a grip that fits in her hand. A literal hand cannon.

"Tiro Finale!" She calls out as she brings the massive gun to bear on Adora, and pulls the trigger. Riventon laid down coverfire. She's the heavy artillery.

Adora Rainbowfist has posed:
She-Ra doesn't even realize she's choking Catra, just like last time. She's too consumed and lost. But then those claws dig and she cries out. Her free hand moves to her face to cup the wound just before the onslaught strikes. The barrage of energy blasts slam into her from all directions, knocking her back and forth. They might not be aiming for Catra, but the girl is RIGHT THERE. With that hint of herself still in there somewhere, she flings the feline hard, not aiming to hurt her, but just to get her away from the blasts.

She covers her head and ducks down a bit as she starts to stumble towards the Sword of Justice. She scrambles for it, pain searing her chin, and her mind is reeling. Must...reach Sword. Kill...everyone...

She doesbn't see Puella Magi mami through the numerous blasts peppering her armored body, and she's also distracted by the pain in her cheek. She knows she'll have scars after this. Her energy works oddly. Most wounds heal in no-time, but when they pack trauma or emotional impact, they stick around. All of the scars she has come from Catra. Imagine that.

She reaches out for the hilt of the Sword of Justice when the blast from Mami hits. The explosion is defeaning, and She-Ra goes flying. She slams into the side of a rockface and leaves an eight-foot Eternian shaped dent in it, cracking it in every direction. She tumbles to a knee, her head spinning. "You...I...AGH!"

Catra has posed:
Catra is thrown, and thrown hard; she sails through the air like a ragdoll and lands uncontrolled on the ground, where she rolls several times and comes to a rest laying on her face. She can see what's happening to Adora from where she is, but her vision is still dark around the edges, and everything is so far away. So distant, where it doesn't matter. Where it can't hurt her. She watches laser blasts and explosions going off all around She-Ra, but it's okay. It is. It's all over there.

Her neck throbs, and it hurts to breath. All she can hear is the desperate pounding of her heart, making blood pump through her ears and overwhelm everything else. She sees Adora go to one knee, but it's okay. She'll be fine. She's always fine. Despite Catra's best efforts over the years, despite Shadow Weaver's cruelty, Hordak's evil, and waves upon waves of Horde soldiers and robots, she's always been fine. Just got up smiling. How does she always do that? Probably because she has friends. Is that the reason? But that can't be. Friends are a weekness. They just hurt you. Let you think they like you and then stab you in the back. Never again.

Catra puts one hand on the ground in front of her, and then the other. She lifts herself up an inch, and gasps in a deep breath. The sound of her heartbeat diminishes, and the noise of the world with all its noise and breadth and overwhelming presence rushes back in with a loud whoosh.

Catra gulps in a deep breath at last, rolling back and landing on her butt with her limbs and tail all stretched out around her, and for the moment she just breathes, watching as the fight rages on without her.

Takashi Agera has posed:
Riventon holds his hand out until all of the shots from his attack are done, and then he sort of... wobbles, and collapses out, down to one knee. A section of his gauntet slides back to reveal what is effectively a series of exhaust ports, and it evicts a large quantity of steam and who knows what else in a jet behind him, as Riventon's exhausted form gasps out for air like a greedy person, like someone whod run a marathon.

"I need to get... over there... before..." he staggers to his feet. Still heaving with the extertion of the battle, of forcing himself to get up, of that heavy barrage attack, and not yet done.

"It's not so easy... to keep me... down..." he says.

Mami ends up next to him and he just sort of falls against her, trusting her to hold him up. Being a wiry string of a person with a magically super powered ally/girlfriend can be useful in moments like this. "I need to get over to her, please." Riventon says to Mami, and he kind of leans his exhausted body against her as they walk together to Adora.

Riventon stretches out his hand - notably, not the one his device is on, but his left hand, and grabs ahold of She-Ra's arm. "I'm going to rip the Dark Energy out of you, before you kill all of us." he says. And then he proceedes to do just that, manipulating it, using his connection to it to drain it out of her, which is to say the least an incredibly painful experience, since it's so heavily intertwined within her.

And maybe at this point Riventon is *less* polite about it than he strictly could be. Maybe he rips the sticker off a little more aggressively than is needed. Maybe he also takes more of She-Ra's energy than is strictly needed to get the Dark Energy out, too. After all, he's exhausted.

And truthfully, he's able to stand up a little straighter once it's done. But he also looks at her. "Damn, something really is up with her. I got a lot of it but not all of it." Riventon admits. Then the barrier around the flickers once, twice, and suddenly they're all back in the real world - back to noisy, busy Tokyo. "Damnit. I'm still blown through on my energy. We should leave. If the sparkleskirts weren't banging on the wall of the barrier they will be here soon. I'm practically just dead weight right now." he says to Mami. Then pulls away from her slightly to yell. "Catra, it's time to head home."

Mami Tomoe has posed:
As soon as it's shot is fired the giant hand cannon starts to unravel into nothingness, just like everything else Mami makes with ribbons. It's gone before the shot even hits She-Ra.

She lands on her feet right next to Riventon and catches him as he falls into her. She's thankful for the strength her magic provides because he's taller than she is, and he may be a wisp of a boy, but he's not exactly light either. "We have got to figure out strategies that have you getting hurt less," she says as she helps him across the battlefield. He's always face tanking the sparkle skirts. She doesn't like it at all, but he's also stubborn and in charge. So all she can do is say things and hope he comes around.

She stands back and watches as he rips the energy out. He's so handsome when he's manipulating dark energy. She tries to look professional. They're at work, after all, and she doesn't really have a henshin identity like he does. So she tries not to let on. But when he gets like that she can't help but look at him with the girlfriend eyes.

But then the barrier vanishes and it's time to go. Then she slips an arm around Riventon's waist and says, "Alright, boss, let's get you out of here."

Her free hand reaches up and ribbons shoot out. "Don't do anything stupid," she says to Catra, and then swings away with Riventon at her hip.

Adora Rainbowfist has posed:
She-Ra tries to get to her feet more then once, but all of those blasts, followed by the massive one, along with all of the energy she's gone through in this fight...is just too much. She rises and stumbles back down to her knees, panting. Riventon can tell those marks on her chin are deep, and she looks up through a veil of pain, and exhaustion as he takes her arm. She tries to pull back, but she just...can't. She can't bring herself to.

She shudders and cries out as her Eternian energy clings to the Dark Energy, trying to hold onto that horrid symbiotic relationship. It makes the pull harder then it should be, but the boy manages it. Well, most of it. Enough of it. As the energy courses from her core and up her arm into Riventon, she squeezes her eyes shut and her other hands digs furrows into the earth.

When it's done and he stumbles back, there is a flash of her own energy, and an exhausted and broken looking Adora is left kneeling in She-Ra's place. That mark on her cheek is there for good now, and her battered t-shirt is stained from it already. She falls back and lays against the rock face, her eyes opening and staring out at the devestation. She sees Riventon and Mami flee, but she barely registers it. Lost for words, her pretty blue eyes land on Catra. She registers her, of course. Her lip trembles and she looks away.

Adora Rainbowfist rolls to the side and pulls her knees up to her chest. She begins to cry.

Catra has posed:
Catra struggles to her knees, and then with effort, up to her feet. Adora's cured. That's all that matters right this moment. Adora is cured.

And it reopens the deep well of anger inside her the moment she thinks about it that way. She grits her teeth and glowers, watching Mami take off with Riventon and resisting the urge to shout something snarky after them, and only partly because of the ragged state of her throat. Instead, she pulls out her cell phone, and taps out a hurried message, sent to Rashmi Terios; basically a 'come get Adora, she's here' message, and then immediately puts the phone on to Do Not Disturb and shoves it in her pocket.

Adora is crying. Perfect. Of course she is. After all this, *she* is the one who's bawling. Catra watches her, her own expression unreadable as she goes to collect Powersend; she banishes the blade and stuffs the hilt into a jacket pocket, and continues to watch Adora as she walks purposefully to her bike. Sure, there are faster ways she could leave, and she definitely needs medical attention, but... not tonight. Tonight she doesn't care.

The feline straddles the motorcycle, boots the kickstand up, and starts it. She revs the engine, and turns her head, looking one last time at Adora before she guns the engine, kicking up a cloud of dust as she speeds off into the night.
