Sunbreaker's Embers
Date of Scene: 09 October 2023
Location: Sports Pavilion
Synopsis: Sunbreaker decides to attack the culture festival, with a big tarp, her familiar and her tower. Yellow Pearl Voice, Amy Faust and Snow Angel Mou Fubuki are here to take care of her, however! ... At least she doesn't need to worry about Makoto Kino, she's just a civilian, after all.
Cast of Characters: Hinoiri Kirara, Makoto Kino, Laisa Samuiko, Coco Kiumi, Amanda Faust

Hinoiri Kirara has posed:
Sunbreaker was.... was not in the best mood. It wasn't like she was in one of her 'DESTROY ALL LIFE!' moods. More just a... she didn't feel very good. Her recent encounters had shaken her, made her determination waver. But she still had a job to do, a duty to fulfil. One didn't achieve what she had to achieve by sitting down and letting others dictate who and what she could be.

So she had no choice but to get back to it.

So as many people were working on the culture festival, a small burst of flame appeared over the outer edge of the school grounds. From it, a black diamond fell from the sky and landed on the ground. After a moment, it exploded into flame, becoming a tower of darkness (Albeit a short one, about 4 feet tall). It then started to radiate the darkness out, enveloping the students working as, bit by bit, they seemed to get more and more tired...

Sunbreaker fell from the flames a moment later, her right hand moving out, her familiar slithered out from her gemstone, flowing out and towards one of the tarps they were setting up!

It entered said tarp, the tarp enveloped with a dark aura before it rose up like some kind of magic carpet, wrapping up one of the screaming teenagers... and then releasing him a moment later, dropping him on the ground. Unconscious, but exhausted.

Makoto Kino has posed:
Makoto has found herself quite in demand as culture festival preparations get in full swing. Being tall makes her stand out, but it's also made her quite convenient for things like hanging decorations and holding tarps in place to be secured. The result is that she's been back and forth across campus pretty much all day as one group after another begs for her help.

She'd just finished pinning the corner of a banner when the screaming started. Without a moment's hesitation, Mako hops down from the chair she'd been balanced on and takes off in a sprint--

--only to skid to a wide-eyed halt at the sight of an animate tarp spitting an unconscious teenager onto the turf, a four-foot pillar of dark flames, and Sunbreaker. Not, clearly, what she'd expected when she came running. "What the hell?!"

Laisa Samuiko has posed:
Laisa Samuiko was both happy and guilty. Happy, because it had been a while since she got rid of her clan's bad influences, and guilty, because some part of her made her feel like it was wrong to just relax once in a while. She tried to convince herself that she was just being silly, but years of conditioning are hard to simply shrug off.

Whatever her quiet ruminations were, they all get forgotten the moment the screaming starts. There's a short tower of darkness. A tarp gets up and flies around. Laisa gives this all a wide-eyed 'wtf is happening' stare before turning away from the scene and briskly walking away.

Laisa ducks through a doorway. Moments later, Snow Angel Mou Fubuki walks out. She places her hands firmly on her hips and shouts, "Yeah, that's what I want to know. What the hell?"

Coco Kiumi has posed:
Coco didn't actually have any idea as to what to do for the Cultural Festival. Sure, she could sing, and that would be a guaranteed success, but that's exactly why she was loathe to take that road. In the meantime she was sort of just wandering around campus, hoping the various sight would give her some kind of inspiration.

Disappointment is what found her instead, noticing the dark energy that happened right onto campus. So of course, she takes advantage of a nearby empty stall (she overheard some students going to grab some materials), and she ducks inside it, letting the energy of her pearl wash over her. "Yellow Pearl Voice!" she declares, the pearl in her shell locket responding to her will and starting to shine with a yellow light. A kaleidoscope of colours covers Coco's clothes as those change into her yellow gloves and boots with flowy extensions, as well as a yellow blouse with a yellow skirt, while her pearl expands into her trusty E-Pitch microphone, its blue shape settling comfily into her hand, the jewel nestled safely in the head's center.

The Mermaid Princess creates the Live Stage around her, and rushes towards Sunbreaker and her diminutive tower. 'I am so going to kick that over this time.' And that's actually what she intends to do, rushing over the tower, a kick ready to topple it. "Sunbreaker, this is for infecting Hinoiri with dark energy!"

Amanda Faust has posed:
Amy is not in the same sort of demand. Not having grown up in Japan, she's kind of amazed at the whole.... thing. Like, yeah, she saw it as a teacher before, but it's different now that she has the chance to *participate*. But there are so many choices, *what* will she do? If this really were a manga her class would end up doing a maid cafe, but she doesn't know if she wants to do that...

She's knocked out of her thoughts by the sudden sense of something wrong. She finds her way to the tower and... aw hell. This area's way too populated! Then again, if people saw her in costume *now*, they might just assume some class is doing cosplay. So...

She finds a secluded spot to transform, and the red-haired magical girl who helped ruin Sunbreaker's camping trip reappears! "You again! Ugh, come on, you're smarter than the Phantom Empire and Clown Empire or whatever it is people, can't we have a talk instead of you trying to drain energy all the time?"

If Coco's kick doesn't knock over the tower, Amy follows it up with a spinning swing from her rocket launcher, making it small and then big again mid-spin to club the tower *hard*!

Hinoiri Kirara has posed:
Sunbreaker just looked at Makoto... and shrugged. "What? I need energy, you lot have it. I think it's pretty obvious what's happening here." The fact she was wreathed in dim fire helped. "Go on, little sparkle skirt. Transform so we can get this over with." She uhhhh... sounded a tiny bit lethargic.

Meanwhile, the tarp monster rose up to its full height and... And lashed out, a single 'leg' kicking at Laisa, attempting to wrap around her and toss her!

Meanwhile, Coco discovered... What a confused Sunbreaker looked like. "Wait, what? Who? Why would-- Oh. OH! Yeah. Heh, I guess that kind of... well, I'm not sorry, mermaid girl. Why don't you go back to your fish bowl and butt out?" she asked.

The tower... WAS KICKED! It made a satisfying thunk sound, but sadly didn't fall over. Alas. Then... then Amy just thwacks it with her rocket launcher. This... is slightly more effective. The tower is dented, slightly. However, before their eyes, the tower is enveloped in darkness and then un-dents itself.

And unfortunately for Coco and Amy, the tarp suddenly GREW! Expanding out and over them, attempting to wrap around them as well.

"I mean, we could talk, but... frankly? Every time I talk to any of you people I just end up more annoyed. But fine, you want to talk, let's talk. I require power so I can return to my home dimension. The only way to get said power is by draining your people. Now, if you want to give me that kind of power directly, sure. We can cut out this middle man. But considering you lot are just so... whatever... this... is," she said, motioning to them. "You obviously don't have the kind of power I require. Instead, you waste my time by getting in my way. So, here we are. Also, that's not going to work. My tower is made of pure dark energy."

There was a light ping from it and she held out her hand, a small diamond appearing in her hand. "Nothing short of purifying it will stop it. Even if you break it, it just fixes itself."

Worse, the darkness it radiated was... somewhat nauseating for those with weaker stomachs. And for the mundanes especially.

Makoto Kino has posed:
"I have no idea what you're talking about."

It's not just sass. Makoto looks absolutely baffled by the situation in which she has found herself; the arrivals of Mou Fubuki, Yellow Pearl Voice and the Red Puella on the scene have done exactly nothing to help the impression that she took a wrong turn and stumbled onto the set of a tokusatsu shoot in progress.

The oppressive gut-churning feeling weighing down on her, though, is real enough. And when she kneels to check on the kid the tarp monster spat out, he's very much unconscious.

Straightening back up to her full standing height, Makoto plants her feet in a wide stance and squares her shoulders. "I don't get any of this," she says, "but whatever your situation is, that doesn't mean you can just go around hurting people. If you're the one causing this, then--"

A rocket launcher didn't take out the tower thing. She has no idea what to do about the tarp creature. Gathering herself, Makoto curls her hands into fists...

...and strides forth, into the midst of the chaos, heading directly towards Sunbreaker.

"Knock it off."

Laisa Samuiko has posed:
Snow Angel frowns up at the tarp monster, then takes a step back as it looms over her. Oh great, here we go again. Mou is neither big nor heavy, being on the lower side of 'average' when it comes to mahou age, it's not that hard for the tarp monster to wrap around her wrist and hurl her through the air! She crashes into a stand that someone probably put a lot of time and effort into, and as Snow Angel picks herself up out of the wreckage she mutters a small apology. Whoever this belonged to probably fled already.

"Purifying magic, you say?" asks Mou Fubuki. Her hands are curled into fists. Her costume is covered in small cuts. When she turns around, her pretty blue eyes are filled with a cold rage. "I was going to talk things out, since I don't know who most of you are, but now? Nah." The temperature drops. Small flakes of snow start to flitter down from the sky. "Let's just get this over with."

After stepping out of the wreckage of some student's hard work, Mou Fubuki spreads her hands as flurries of snow whirl around her. The wind plays with her hair, and the ground at her feet ices over. Raising one hand towards the dark tower, Mou Fubuki whispers, and that soft whisper can be heard across the battlefield. "Snow Heart Solstice..."

Snow, ice, and cold wind swirl into a cloud of purifying magic, just inches away from her outstretched palm. The wind rages, and the cold intensifies, and the gathering ice and snow grows more wild and spikey. In an instant, that coalescing ball of magical cold launches towards the dark tower, spreading a trail of purifying snow in its wake.

Amanda Faust has posed:
So that's it. "How much energy do you *need*? Like, if we didn't stop you *this time* and focused on healing everyone after, would you be all set? Or do you need to do this again and again and again?"

A tarp of darkness is coming for her and Coco! She tries to shoot it with a rocket, then fires a non-exploding rocket to try and just... push it away, but it seems it's stretchier than she accounted for as she starts to get wrapped up. "No! Damn it!" And her swiss army knife isn't on her. Note to self, put that in one of her pouches! Although would it even work? She might need a magical cutting tool...

Coco Kiumi has posed:
When the tarp cover the Live Stage, the shine of the white sphere still illuminates the surrounding of the mermaid princess. "If you are not sorry, I will personally drag you to apologise! Marvelous Poem: Pichi Pichi Voice, Live Start!" A persuasive sparkle of glowing joy ignites her heart, magically turnimg everything into love.

Against the oppressive tarp the purifying voice of the mermaid princess makes the Live Stage Shine like a star, an all-reaching glow that breaks through the darkness, and so would happen to the tarp under the magical notes if this succeeds.

The mermaid princess sings of the greatest dream within her, a stormy sea, a marvelous poem of her need of love. No dream greater than that could ever exist for her, a silver sky within her that is a melody, a push to loosen her sails and to the wind of her heart, continue to believe in love's strength.

Coco's song is full in effect, a rampaging musical wave against the oppressive darkness, opposing its might, keeping up the morale of her allies and undoing their fatigue, the hold of darkness nothing more than a faraway phantom if Coco has anything to say about it.

Hinoiri Kirara has posed:
Sunbreaker glanced over at Makoto as the girl came towards her... and... "Wait, oh. You're a mundane, aren't you?" she asked... before sighing. "Shoo. Go away. I'm not in the mood to kidnap anyone today and even if I was I don't want to deal with whatever angry boyfriend you've got nipping at your heels. So go," she said, shooing her away like a mutt...

Only for her eyes to widen when suddenly Fubuki launched a purifying blast at her tower. "w-what? HEY! STOP THAT! What in tartarus?! Okay, seriously? Since when are there more of you purifying girls! I thought Yellow Voice was supposed to be the only one!" she yelled. She was... partially annoyed. On the one hand, she actually DID want the towers to be purified, in theory. Eventually. But on the other hand, she hadn't really run into many purifiers. Why is it she ran into one TODAY?!

The purifying snow hit the tower, blasting off a chunk of it, ice frosting around the tips while the aura of darkness it exuded weakened considerably.

Sunbreaker formed a ball of fire in her right hand and then just CHUCKED it at Fubuki. At least it wasn't... that dangerous compared to some of the stuff she'd chucked at people. "Stop that!" she yelled.

She then glanced to Amy. "Huh? Oh, uhhh... not exactly sure. there's still a lot of research I'd need to do, first figuring out the spell to properly ascend. Some of it is because of experimentation and... you seem busy, maybe we can talk about this later." Probably not. The tarp, meanwhile, bent and expanded from the blast, singe marks across it. However, it wasn't stopped and attempted to bind around the two girls... Though, as the singing inside grew, the tarp attempted to trap it. Tried to hold the two within...

And it began to expand, like an over inflated balloon, holding Pearl's voice within as, bit by bit... it got bigger... and bigger... and bigger...

Sunbreaker was now staring at it, a small sweat drop on her head. "Uhhhhhh..." she said softly. That. that was not a good sign...

Amanda Faust has posed:
Amy was expecting to get wrapped up, but soon ends up pushed onto the Live Stage. What? "...Ohhhh. Neat." She comments, as she realizes what happened with the bubble holding back the tarp. But now it's... expanding even bigger? Huh. She hefts the launcher... then decides to see where this goes, stepping next to Yellow Pearl Voice and humming and ahhh-ing some simple harmony just in case it adds to Coco's song.

Coco Kiumi has posed:
Since the tarp hasn't broken yet, Coco keeps the pressure going, her purifying song continuing to shine as brilliantly as ever, the melodious magic still pushing back against the fatigue and the darkness.

Makoto Kino has posed:
Makoto's eyes narrow dangerously, either at Sunbreaker's offhand reference to kidnapping or the 'angry boyfriend' remark. The disinterested attempt at shooing her off, she ignores. The fireball, on the other hand, checks her advance - for a moment. Then she shakes her head, an irritated little flick of her ponytail.

The other girls are occupied doing what Makoto can't. This has to stop.

"I said..." She's within reach now, easy conversation distance. Sunbreaker isn't even paying attention to her any more, and that only sets the spark of anger within her growing to a rumble of thunder. Makoto slides a foot back, digging her heel into the ground, cocks back an arm.

And takes a sharp shot at the center of Sunbreaker's chest. "--knock it OFF!"

Laisa Samuiko has posed:
So this is how Mou Fubuki's day is going. She, an ice-themed purifying magical girl, is now fighting Sunbreaker, a fire-themed dark magical girl. Channeling a lot of of Mou's cursed magic causes a heavy pair of icey wings to sprout from her back, rooting her in place. This is the tradeoff for Mou's powerset: she can bring out the heavy spells, but doing so ruins her mobility, and it's not like those wings can actually be used to fly.

When Sunbreaker's fire comes at her, Mou's first instinct is to form a thick wall of ice between her and the villain, but the fireball melts right through it. Mou then forms a thick shield of ice in her arms and uses it to block the fire, but that gets liquified quickly too. The end result is the snow angel being knocked gracelessly on her butt, her thick wings breaking her fall on the way down as they shatter.

"Ow..." she whines, before slowly picking herself back up again. Standing still like that isn't going to work today.

Taking stock of the situation, she notices the tarp monster blowing up like a balloon. From Sunbreaker's reaction, Mou wonders if it's supposed to do that. Then there's Makoto, apparently a mundane, stepping up to the mahou villain. "I um... I admire the fighting spirit, but I wouldn't..." The punch comes out, and Mou Fubuki sympathetically winces. Hopefully this brawny ponytailed girl knows what she's doing and didn't just sign up to get seriously hurt or set on fire.

Deciding that the best thing she could do is go after the tower, Mou freezes the ground beneath her. She hops forward as a pair of ice skates form beneath her feet, and she glides across the ground as a trail of ice forms behind her. When she gets to the tower, she holds up her hands and summons a shotgun blast of purifying snow. This time, Mou tries to remain mobile, skating past the tower several times and peppering it with her ice magic.

Hinoiri Kirara has posed:
Sunbreaker stared at the tarp and... oh... ohhhh that wasn't a good sign. It--

BOOM! There was a resounding EXPLOSION from the tarp bursting, Coco's song washing over the area once more, the tarp moving wobbling from side to side, its eyes swirls. It. It did NOT like this. This was VERY unpleasant. And the two girls were free, the monster on its last legs!

Meanwhile, while the one fireball had come at Fubuki before, well... there wasn't a second one.

Because Sunbreaker had been ignoring Makoto. She wasn't powered and therefore, she was useless. Not worth worrying about.

And so she hadn't seen that punch come. And had actually stumbled back a few feet, clutching her chest. "D-d-d-damn it... right... in the saddles..." Sunbreaker managed to squeeze out. A little flame formed in her hands and she came DANGEROUSLY close to lighting the girl up, her eyes narrowed on her... before she growled. "BEGONE!" she snapped before reaching out and just... grabbing and throwing her. Not too hard, but tossing her back behind herself like used garbage. "Stupid, useless human!" she snapped, before turning back to Fubuki.

Time had been bought, however. Fubuki's assault on the tower brought it further and further to pieces, the purifying light making it crumble, combined with the song... it finally fell. Shattering into a dozen little pieces, turning to dark shards of diamond and a single small, white gem.... which all faded away a moment later. Tower destroyed.

Amanda Faust has posed:
The inevitable result of overinflation occurs. When Amy sees the tarp monster has swirly eyes, she winces. "Oof, sorry buddy. Hopefully Yellow's song will put you out of your misery soon enough."

Amy looks back to Sunbreaker to see Makoto thrown. "Hey! Don't throw people!" Shit! Someone's probably on that though, she can't get there fast enough. "'Ascend'? So this isn't just about going home. You're not the only one stuck on this world, you know, maybe if you all worked together you could find a way off. If that's what it's *really* about. What're you gonna do once you ascend?" She lacks purifying power, so can't really do much here besides shoot Sunbreaker, which she doesn't want to. The dark general is clearly losing this fight, better to keep her talking and see what she can learn about her foe!

Makoto Kino has posed:
"Wh--?!" If absolutely anybody were in a position to see it, Makoto's face as Sunbreaker just kind of chucks her out of the way like a ragdoll would be priceless. Goggle-eyed, absolutely floored. Not as planned!

On the other hand... it doesn't quite work.

Oh, Sunbreaker manages to yank Makoto off-balance and shove her away behind her. That part works fine. But even as she's slung around like a piece of unwanted luggage, the reflexes honed by years in the dojo kick in. She recovers her balance quickly enough to get her feet under her, and when Sunbreaker lets go of her to toss her away, she - doesn't. Quite the contrary, she snakes her arm around the smaller girl's and catches it in a joint lock.

"Shouldn't have done that."

All that momentum has to go somewhere. Twisting in place, Makoto drops her shoulder and puts her newfound leverage to use to turn the force of Sunbreaker's throw against her with one massive heave.

Laisa Samuiko has posed:
Fubuki sees Makoto get picked up and tossed... except not really? Mou just kinda watches this in silent awe. Is this girl really a mundane? She's pretty brave, and uh... hard to shake. She calls out, "Hey, It's not my place to tell you your business, but I think you're trying to punch well above your weight class."

An icy spear appears in Mou's right hand, and a new shield covers her left. She's worried that Makoto might be biting off more than she can chew, but Sunbreaker doesn't seem to be seriously trying to hurt her yet. Yet.

Deciding that the tarp monster is the next biggest problem, and also that elemental affinities probably make this fight especially her problem, Mou decides to infuse her spear with a massive charge of cold magic and throw it at the tarp. That's just the start of her tactic, meant to either pin the monster or pierce whatever defenses it might have. The followup is the real attack. "Take a cold shower and chill out! Bliss Flavored Snowcone!"

She winces internally at that attack name. Yes, it was her nature to make up attack names on the spot, but was that really the best she could come up with? Ugh... Maybe if she says it loud and confident enough, no one will notice how bad it actually is.

A snowball the size of her head, tightly packed with purifying cold, forms in her hand and launches at the tarp youma. She can worry about Sunbreaker in a moment. For now, get the threats off the field.

Coco Kiumi has posed:
After the tarp explodes, Coco takes stock of the situation around her, noticing Sunbreaker throwing Makoto. 'This is it, she will stay here to have a talk with us. Aqua Regina, help me. Your mermaid princess invokes your blessing.' Coco raises her arm, the bracelet on her wrist shining with white light as a halo of yellow light moves downwards from the mermaid princess's head: her clothes become more elaborate as it does so, gaining a flowing bow on her back and parallel frills on her blouse.

"The Tale of the Seven Seas ~Pearls of Mermaid~: Pichi Pichi Voice, Live Start!" Coco sings of embracing a dream: the journey to find the story that leads all lives to paradise, a treasure that is surely shimmering beyond the seven seas.

The magical song spreads its splendor with renewed intensity, bringing more vigour and energy than ever to those who lost them, repelling evil with all its brilliance.

Two Live Stages form, one that is hurled at the youma, one around Sunbreaker, the sphere strenghtening its borders, trying to hold her within. The words of the mermaid princess call back to a lute, whose melody that resounded at dawn was similar to a sweet lullaby from her hometown.

The enchanted melody shows everyone's hearts the peace the mermaid princesses wish to protect with their songs, a beautiful paradise when nobody has to hurt. The magical notes spread everywhere, their intend to wash the campus with their melody of the darkness produced by Sunbreaker's tower.

Hinoiri Kirara has posed:
Sunbreaker threw the girl... Or... rather... tried. To dismissively throw her. Aaaaand suddenly her arm was being twisted. "What do you--" The flames around her grew, hoping to deter the girl...

And then the world was spinning. She let out a startled yelp, her feet flailing wildly, as everything around her just kind of... spun. Around. She kicked wildly, trying to find stability that.. just... wasn't there.

And then she was let go. Followed by BAM. She hit the ground. And it was a good thing she was henshined because otherwise? That would have been EXCRUCIATING. As it was, Sunbreaker just kind of bounced once or twice, flipping over and rolling a few times before coming to a stop, staring at the sky.

Sunbreaker just laid there. "What... what in... what did you... what?" she asked. Nobody in particular. She just asked. Those questions. Staring at the sky with a look of pure confusion and bewilderment. "What... what did... what was that? I don't.... what?" Her arm hurt. Her head hurt. Her shoulders hurt. Her chest hurt. She hurt. And most of all her brain hurt. She was running over what just happened, again and again in her head.

And couldn't get it to compute.

Then her youma is hit from two sides, a ball of ice on one side, a stage on the other. It let out a startled, pained shriek, before....

Exploding. The tarp falling to pieces and the strange shadowy eel letting out a hiss before it curled up into a fall and disappeared, retreating into Sunbreaker's gem.

Monsters, gone! Sunbreaker just... laid there. A stage around her. Trapping her. As she struggled to process... what... the hell... just happened. Finally... she sat up, having to not sit up all the way due to the stage. She then pointed a finger accusingly at Makoto. "Did... did you just THROW me?!" she yelled at her, her voice filled with indignant rage. "How DARE you! You can't throw ME! I'm... I'm... I..."

Her tower was gone. Her youma destroyed. She just got punched in the saddle and then flung upside down by a mundane girl. Under a big yellow stage. Yellow Pearl Voice's song filtering through to her. Yup. She was done here.

She just... she just dropped back down. "You know what? You win. I give. Going to take the loss before I have a giant golden cockadoo or something fall on my head and... I don't even know." She couldn't even have the satisfaction of throwing a fireball at Makoto because the STUPID STAGE! WHO THROWS SOMEONE WHO IS ON FIRE?! THIS IS WHY SHE WAS ON FIRE! TO PREVENT PEOPLE FROM WANTING TO GET CLOSE TO HER! AHHHHH! She'd just have to hope the fires she did have left an impression on the other girl to make her not do that again. And then Sunbreaker was enveloped in flames... and... when they were gone, she was still there. "Oh for Sora's sake..." she snapped. A moment later, no flames. Just darkness. And she dusk ported out.

She didn't even answer any of Amy's questions. Rude as she was... but then she'd been thrown around like a flapjack, so she hadn't... really... been listening to them.

Makoto Kino has posed:
Makoto gets a second, ish, to straighten up and stand tall and proud in victory.

Then the explosions start, and she belatedly discovers the inherent drawbacks of body-throwing someone who is literally on fire.

"Ow! Ow ow ow..." Her long-sleeved fall uniform helped, in that it insulated her from immediate burns... but the fabric is scorched and smoldering everywhere she and Sunbreaker were in contact, which is quite a few places. The cuff of her sleeve has caught flame. Abruptly very chagrined and no little alarmed, the girl begins slapping at the burning bit before the flames can spread up her arm. "Um! Anybody got - ah! - a water bottle?"

Her skirt's starting to catch too. With another yelp she sinks to her knees and redoubles her efforts to smother the embers. "Aah, what the hell even just happened?!"

Laisa Samuiko has posed:
Mou Fubuki watches Sunbreaker just vanish after things don't end up going her way. She frowns at the space where Sunbreaker used to be with her hands on her hips. After a moment, a lot of Fubuki's snow and cold effects start fading away, because this curse magic doesn't last forever. She lets her shield and spear vanish as well, and then focuses her attention on Makoto who is apparently on fire.

A thick flurry of snow and ice swirls around Makoto, stealing away the heat and melting into water. Fubuki twirls her finger around in a circle as if directing the wind and cold.

"You're pretty brave, you know," comments Mou, voice audible over the chilling wind despite being very soft. Once the fire is out, either through lack of heat or being smothered by snow, she withdraws her magic, letting that fade away along with the rest of it.

"Tackling someone who is on fire takes a certain amount of... well I don't know what, but it takes something.

Amanda Faust has posed:
> Before I turn into a giant golden cockatoo or something--
"Can that even happen?! Is that a *thing* with you dark general folks?!" Amy interjects, not that it gets answered.

> Sunbreaker teleport fails.
"Uhhh. Do you need some help, there?" Amy asks, uncertainly.

"...Well, THAT all happened. How on earth is the veil gonna explain this...?" She looks around... and sees someone confused and on fire. "Wait, you're a CIVILIAN?" She rushes over, uncertain of how to stop the fire but they have an Ice girl with them, so that's solved.

"Damn. You dove right in even *without* magical powers." Amy rubs the back of her head. "That *feels* like the kind of thing that should *earn* you powers, but it doesn't seem to work that way. Unfortunately, now you're gonna forget this. It really sucks." She gives Makoto a hug, and then steps back. "I'm not good with this situation... but if it would comfort you to have any questions answered before you forget, I don't mind."

Coco Kiumi has posed:
This fight started with disappointment, and it ended with disappointment. Not only was Coco unable to find an alternative for the cultural festival thanks to Sunbreaker's intervention, she also hasn't been able to keep her here for a proper talk with her. When Mou Fubuki uses her snow to put out the fire on Makoto, Coco takes charge of the burns. Legend of Mermaid: Pichi Pichi Voice, Live Start!

The melody of the oceans narrates about the nostalgic song of a faraway world, a promise to always be connected as long as the paradise of the seven seas is remembered, the fantasy of a night where stars like pearls release a wondrous light and give everyone a shining future. The magical melody proceeds on dissipating the fatigue everyone feels, as well as provide healing to the burns on Makoto.

Makoto Kino has posed:
The breath goes out of Makoto in a relieved sigh as Mou Fubuki's snow swirls around her and snuffs out the flames. The soothing energy of Yellow Pearl Voice's song sets in before the cold can become too much, soothing away the lingering bite of singed skin and the subtler aches of energy drain.

She stays where she is, sitting on the ground. The past little while has been a lot. Rather than trying to get up just yet, she laughs awkwardly up at Mou Fubuki and Amy. "I guess that was pretty reckless of me... especially when you guys already seemed to know what to do. She just made me angry, the way she was acting."

She's reaching up to rub her fingers over the back of her neck when Amy hugs her. The gesture catches her off-guard, and she's left blinking in surprise, though not unappreciative. Still-- "I'm going to forget?" She frowns dubiously. "I feel like this kind of thing happening would be pretty hard to just forget about. But I guess you'd know better than I do, huh?"

Laisa Samuiko has posed:
Mou folds her arms and watches Coco's magic do its work, handling the healing that snow and ice alone could not. She glances up and down at Makoto to see how roughed up she is before commenting. "Well, doing that without magic is pretty risky. You're lucky she handled you with kid gloves. I'm guessing she didn't want to spend a lot of effort on someone who she assumed would be a non-threat."

Mou glances to where Sunbreaker was a moment ago, before duskporting out. "On the other hand you put her on her back, so it wasn't completely futile. It's probably true that you'll forget this, as most non-magicals tend to, but in case you don't..."

Mou bows slightly to Makoto in greeting. "My name is Snow Angel Mou Fubuki. It's nice to meet you. I'd tell you to stay out of trouble, but around here that's easier said than done."

Coco Kiumi has posed:
"Not everyone forgets" Coco mentions after finishing her song. "I know two people who didn't for example, even if in the case of one of them, forgetting would have been an improvement."

She looks at Makoto, examining her intently for any potential sign of discomfort. "I think there is a good chance this may stick with you, so I am Yellow Pearl Voice. How are you feeling now, by the way?"

She looks at Mou Fubuki and Red. "What about you two, any pain or ache?"

Amanda Faust has posed:
> She just made me angry, the way she was acting.
Amy frowns at calling that 'reckless.' "Never suppress that part of you. That's how adults let so many bad things happen."

And then, she realizes it's pointless to give the advice, but... Amy shrugs. "That seems to be how it works. I was told civilians mostly forget this stuff, though there seems to be an occasional exception. I have no idea how many incidents like this I was witness to before I became a magical girl; I don't remember them."

Beat. "...I'm sorry. It's really unfair. I do not support the system, but it seems to be, if not a fundamental physical law of magic, then an enchantment woven over this entire planet to make people forget magic. I have no idea how to undo it."

Amanda Faust has posed:
Amy also answers Coco with a shake of her head. "Nah, I'm all good. Barely got grabbed by the monster before I ended up on the Live Stage. Cool that it's strong enough to stop that sort of thing now, is that because of the peach?"

Makoto Kino has posed:
"Oh... well." Makoto looks from Mou Fubuki to Yellow Pearl Voice to Red in turn, brows lifted, seeming thoroughly at a loss for how to respond to any of this. Which is probably the reasonable reaction.

However, introductions were given, and Mako finds the courtesy in her to get to her feet. "I'm Makoto Kino," she offers, the name accompanied by a shallow bow. "Thank you for your help, and for explaining things. I..."

She pauses, looking down at herself and signing. "Geez, this uniform is ruined. I should go clean up."

Another bow, this one a little deeper, and then she's jogging off for the dorms.

Coco Kiumi has posed:
Coco looks at Amy. "I will go too. I don't want to resort to singing for the Cultural Festival, as much as it would be a pleasure for me to, so I have to come up with something new." She waves at the redhead before leaving the campus to detransform in peace.
