Cast of Characters: Makoto Kino, Hinoiri Kirara

Makoto Kino has posed:
Sunday afternoon. For most students, the last bit of weekend, the last bit of free time before the next week of classes starts. It's not much different for Makoto.

She might have some homework that she's still putting off, but nobody needs to concern themselves about that, right? For now, as she often does on the weekends, the tall girl is making use of the limited kitchen facility available to students in the common area of the dorms. This whole end of the hall is slowly filling with the warm, sweet aroma of baking. While the oven does its work, Mako busies herself with cleanup, currently humming to herself while she rinses out a mixing bowl in the sink.

Hinoiri Kirara has posed:
Hinoiri Kirara was getting ready for her trip, which she'd be leaving for very soon, and was doing the last bit of plotting before she departed. Once she was certain everything was ready, she'd headed out from her room and...

... What was that? It smelled amazing. And frankly, as a partaker of some of the finest pastries in the multi-verse... she knew when baking smelled good.

She made her way down the hall quietly, adjusting her jacket a little before sliding into the common area and...

HER! She remembered HER! THIS WAS THE GIRL WHO THREW HER! For a moment it was a good thing Makoto's back was to her, otherwise the glare she gave might have been seen! As it was, Makoto might have even felt a chill before Hinoiri managed to get that glare under control. "Heyyyyyy. I don't think I've seen you before. New here?" she asked, walking towards the girl, all smiles and grins

Makoto Kino has posed:
It definitely fees like a cold chill running down the back of her neck. Some instinctive sense has Makoto straightening up from her task, hastily reaching to turn off the water in the sink before she turns and sees Hinoiri standing there.

"Hi!" She offers a friendly smile, while one hand quests to the side without looking for a dishtowel to begin drying. The question has her eyebrows lifting a little, but the pleasant expression doesn't falter. "I'm not new exactly, but I did move rooms not too long ago, so I wasn't in this part of the building much before. Makoto Kino."

Hinoiri Kirara has posed:
Hinoiri Kirara gave a small nod before holding out her hand for her to shake. "Hinoiri Kirara. Really? If you don't mind me asking, why'd you move over here? If you'd met me I'd say you just wanted to come to the coolest part of the dorms," she said in a playful, joking tone. "But since we haven't, I'm guessing there was some other reason?"

Then her eyes glanced towards the oven and... "Wait, let me guess. The stove on the other floor wasn't heating right and they thought it would be easier to move you than fixing the stove?" Well, that at least was definitely a joke. For all RHA's problems, they did do decent maintenance.

Makoto Kino has posed:
With brisk, efficient motions, Makoto finishes drying the mixing bowl - more or less - and sets it down on the counter. After giving her hands a quick dry with the dishtowel for good measure, she reaches to shake the offered hand, laughing. "It wasn't my idea. I transferred in the middle of the summer, so the room I had at first was a temporary thing, and they finally got around to sorting out a proper roommate assignment... or something like that. I haven't actually had any problems with the kitchens, they're pretty nice for being student facilities."

Hinoiri Kirara has posed:
Hinoiri Kirara gave a nod, looking up at the girl and... "Ahhhh, right. I guess it likely took them a while to make sure there was a room with enough space, huh? So, who's your roommate? Maybe I know them. Though, I think this might be the right floor."

"Between my roommate, Dianora, and Usagi, you're going to have no shortage of people coming around to try and bum snacks off you. Admittedly, I might try to as well if I wasn't heading out in a few. Just couldn't not say hey to the new girl to the floor I hadn't met yet."

Makoto Kino has posed:
Makoto's face lights up at the mention of Usagi's name - it's clearly a familiar one, and she nods, smiling brightly. "You're not kidding. I gave Usagi some anpan the first time we met and I think I made a friend for life." She shakes her head at the memory, looking fond. "Anyway, my roommate's Adora. You can hardly miss her - it's kind of neat, having a roommate who's about as tall as I am."

She pauses a moment, her expression turning thoughtful. "It's too bad you're on your way out... this shouldn't take much longer. But I can try and save some for you, if you want."

Hinoiri Kirara has posed:
Hinoiri Kirara would have choked if she were eating anything. As it was, her eyes just widened and she had to lift a hand up to cover her mouth. "Oh dear heavens. Yes, yes you did. First time I met Usagi was at a game store. Impossible to shake, that one. Great girl, though. Real sweety, always has an eye out for others. Really someone you can always turn to when you're in need. As for Adora, wellllll..." She hummed for a moment, trying to think of how to say it.

"... She... really... *really*... really has it bad for her ex. Like... *really* bad. Other than that, though, she's pretty cool. Big fan of horses. But man, you two together? I know where to go whenever I need something from the top shelf."

She let out a low whistle before shaking her head. "I'd love to... but no. I'm not going to be back for a week or so. Assuming the others haven't burned you out by then, I'll try and bum something off you then."

Roommates with Adora... friends with Usagi already... Threw her... Was... it possible... this girl was magic too? Nah. Nahhhhhhh. No way. After all, there hadn't beeb any henshin when she'd tossed her. Likely just coincidence. Of course they'd put tol with tol and Usagi was a sweety to everyone. "You met Naru yet? Usagi's roommate. She's pretty chill, handles some of the weird stuff that goes on around here pretty well."

Makoto Kino has posed:
"Oh, yeah," Makoto confirms immediately. "I feel like it's a bit hard not to get to know Naru-chan, you know? Or Usagi-chan either, really. Both of them are easy to get along with, aren't they."

Absently folding the damp dishtowel in half, Makoto gives Hinoiri a contemplative look. "...a week, huh? Yeah, I doubt there will be any left by then. It'd be better fresh, anyway. I'll have to catch you once you're back. I hope it's a fun trip that you're going on?"

Hinoiri Kirara has posed:
Hinoiri Kirara couldn't help but nod, the smile on her face a little more relaxed. "Yeah. Usagi's... really special. Someone you can really learn to trust and turn to. Naru's pretty clever, in her own way. Gets caught up in a lot of stuff, but all in all she's definitely the level headed of the pair."

Her eye twitched slightly at 'fun', though. "Yeah. Uhhhhh... fun... might be a word for it. Kind of a... thing... related to my old mentor. Lots of bouncing from hotel to hotel, long flights. Not the funnest thing in the world, I guess. But... you know. No rest for the weary. I'll hold you to that, though. I should probably get going, anyway. I need to drop off some homework before I leave or I'll end up hurting my grade. It's not a good trip if it costs you your education, right?" Hinoiri gave a light chuckle before taking a step back and then turning, starting to walk away.

Makoto Kino, huh. Nice enough. Civilian. She wondered if her baking was why she decided it was okay to throw someone who was ON FIRE. So many of these kids get burned that way...

Makoto Kino has posed:
Makoto's brows lift a little at the explanation. She tilts her head, the corner of her mouth turning up in a sympathetic smile. "So, more of an obligation, then. Too bad, having a week away from class and not even really getting to enjoy it." Coming to a decision, she nods firmly. "Well, come find me when you get back, then. I'll make sure to have some gingerbread for you."

As Hinoiri starts off, Makoto gets back to her cleanup, though not without offering a final wave. "Have a safe trip!"
