Cast of Characters: Mamoru Chiba, Naru Osaka, Hinoiri Kirara

Mamoru Chiba has posed:
It's late morning and Mamoru's got a grocery store tote bag in one hand, and he comes up the stairwell, then down the hall from one direction to stop in front of Naru and Usagi's door, then knock and try the knob on the theory that if it's unlocked, everyone's decent. Well, at the same time he's also announcing himself: "Hey, it's Mamoru, I brought some stuff~"

If it's unlocked and there's no objection, he just casually comes in like he does it all the time. Probably because he does. "Is Usa back yet or are you hiding--?"

Naru Osaka has posed:
The door IS unlocked and everyone is decent enough for random people wandering in.

Which by 'everyone' one means 'Naru', as she's the only one home right now. She is super casual, leggings and a loose t-shirt, barefoot as she waits by the kettle, a pour over coffee in progress.

"Morning." Naru greets as she looks over and there's a smile. "She's back, but went down for food." Clearly someone is pleased that her roomie and bestie is back again. Even if she's not here right this second.. that's close enough. "How's things?"

Naru turns back towards the kettle as it starts to boil, and the observant might notice the purple bruise peeking out from the neckline of her shirt on her left shoulder.

Hinoiri Kirara has posed:
Hinoiri Kirara was, well... one might suspect she was ignoring her other lackey, after all. She hadn't come to see her since finding out Adrien and her were da-ting~ But well... She'd gotten distracted. Turns out christmas was supposed to be romantic, who knew? NOT HER! That's who!

In the end, though, she finally had some morning, her homework was all caught up again, she'd had little else to do, so that morning she decided to go check on the pair down the hall.

A minute or two after Mamoru arrived, there was a knock on the door. A quick rap rap rap. Once she was called in, she game a small grin. "Hey, Naru-chan, I just popped by to--" Then paused, seeing there was already someone here?! She cocked an eye, staring at him for a moment and... "You're... Usagi-chan's boyfriend, right?" she finally asked. "I... think I saw you two... huh. Can't quite remember when, actually. Nice to finally put a meeting to the face, though. Hinoiri Kirara," she said, giving a little smile and a wave before glancing to Naru. "So, Naru-chan, a lit--" Then stopped. "... Are... you okay?"

Mamoru Chiba has posed:
"Kazuo tattled," Mamoru says cheerfully, "therefore, stuff. Sports electrolyte drink stuff and vegan protein bars to replenish your stash-- wait, what the f--" he starts, and then Hinoiri's knocking on the door. He plunks the bag of Stuff down on the floor next to the couch and takes a half-step back, making room for whoever's coming in.

He's face to face with the girl who inexplicably looked terrified of Hematite at Chiyo's candy store!

"--yeah, that's me," he says blankly, then bows slightly after a switching-gears second, looking a little sheepish then smiling back. "Good to meet you. Mamoru Chiba." A beat. He glances back at Naru's back. "Yeah, what chewed on you?"

Naru Osaka has posed:
"C'mon on, Hinoiri!" Naru calls as she lifts the kettle to pour it over coffee grounds. With her right hand, and the movement is carefully cautious. She's got it, but she clearly doesn't actually trust that she's got it.

"Damn Kazuo" Naru doesn't sound that surprised, or disappointed. "I hate missing runs, but there was no way." She turns as the water starts trickling through. "Aww. That's thoughtful. Thank you." She gestures between them. "Clearly you two haven't met.. Hinoiri.. Mamoru.. Mamoru, Hinoiri."

"Who else am I making coffee for?" Naru offers as intros happen without her needing to do them. "Or tea, also an option. Or whatever is in the fridge. Juice, I think. Water. Sports drink."

Naru erms ruefully to Mamoru. "So.. pro tip.. mundanes cannot solo tank youmas."

Hinoiri Kirara has posed:
Hinoiri Kirara gave a small nod to him. Huh. A bit of hesitency, but she figured it was just because he was trying to remember where he saw her, if he had seen her, too. "So, Usagi-chan sleeping in?" she asked in a slightly playful tone before glancing back to Naru. "I'll take a cup. Ended up having a... late night last night, had to get a big project done. Gonna try and power through today."

"And... no. No we can't. That's why most of us run when it comes to big scary monsters. Wait. Isn't... running kind of one of your things? I thought you'd be good at it by now, Naru-chan. Or was there something... or someone... distracting you?" she asked in a teasing, playful tone.

Before frowning. "Wait, that isn't actually what happened, is it?" Oh gosh if her minions were getting themselves hurt because they were too busy fawning over each other to run, she was going to have WORDS!

Mamoru Chiba has posed:
Mamoru lets out a breath. Obviously Hinoiri is either in the know or a magical girl! "I'm good on beverages, thanks. Listen-- I'm not going to lecture," he says, "but... I can heal it. If you're still hurting from it."

The offer's made while he's glancing sidelong a little at Hinoiri, gauging her reaction. "I mean, you're upright, but solo tanking a youma had to have been pretty bad. I wish I'd known."

He pauses. "But I guess I didn't tell you I could do that now."

Naru Osaka has posed:
"One more coffee." Naru reaches.. carefully.. up for another mug. The shelf isn't that high, perhaps 5' off the ground, but it's over her head.

"I am good at running, yeah, but even I sometimes get cornered." Naru makes a face. "And then it all goes down hill, at least until I get it to move enough so I can run. Or it throws me. Either way."

Naru turns to Mamoru and blinks a moment. "Wait. you heal now?" She hunhs softly. "The back's healing fine, but the ribs and my shoulder are still pretty rough." She starts to shrug and then remembers that it's a bad idea right now. "It was not one of my finest moments. As usual, when things go south, I dont usually have time to do a lot of calling for help." She glances over to Hinoiri and snorts softly. "And no.. I did not get distracted by something.. or someone. Although I did have to text Adrien to come be tall for me yesterday, I really couldn't lift things."

Hinoiri Kirara has posed:
Hinoiri Kirara cringed when Naru started to reach. "W-wait, don't... oh. Oh wow. Oh Naru-chan. Seriously... please, next time, just tell me to get it. I'm taller than you and not wounded." Pause. "And... frankly, isn't everyone your 'tall thing'?" she asked in a teasing tone that time before glancing to Mamoru.

"Wait, you can like... heal things? Like, with a touch? That's *awesome*. I'm guessing you're a sparkle... sparkle? Too? Then? Huh. I wonder if I've seen you around doing that... thing. Don't tell me," Hinoiri said quickly.

"I don't sparkle and I'd rather not know anybody's secret identities in case some idiot gets it in their mind to kidnap me for info." Please, as if anyone would ever kidnap HER. Ha. What an unlikely and possibly impossible situation that'd be.

She then glanced to Naru. "So, I spoke to Adrien after I got back. It seems you've got a new booooooy friend while I was out of town~ Surprised I didn't hear about it from you."

Mamoru Chiba has posed:
"Yeah, I do. I can't-- I don't think I can get bone unless it's really small, like a hairline fracture maybe, but I could tell you if something is broken, if you're not sure," Mamoru says, still hesitant. "I'm still figuring out my limitations under normal conditions. And hoping people don't get hurt enough to go past them, though they undoubtedly will..."

He holds a hand out to Naru, in offer, not reaching to touch her unless she gives the go-ahead, but then he looks at Hinoiri and smiles a little lopsidedly. "I doubt it. This is new. And if you could avoid spreading it around too much that I heal -- though you can call me in if you need to -- I'd appreciate that."

Then he laughs. "She totally has a new boyfriend. He's my next door neighbor. The two of them are all PDA even worse than me and Usagi."

Naru Osaka has posed:
"Okay.. well /yes/." Naru can't argue about the fact that she is, at this point, the shortest in her class. She's even shorter than Usagi, an eternal frustration to be certain. "Everyone's taller than I am. Still, if I'm going to need someone to come over and be tall for me.. I've excellent reasons to text Adrien." She might be still a bit busted, but that grin speaks for itself.

Naru reaches her right hand out for Mamoru's at his offer. Hinoiri's coffee is just going to have to wait a few moments. "I dont /think/ I broke anything, but shoulder is a possibility." She admits. "I twisted so that I slammed into the wall with it rather than my head. No matter if I did break it, still the right call I think."

Naru's free hand waggles at Mamoru as she laughs. "We are totally not worse about PDA than you guys, omg. That is pretty much impossible." She does look like it's a goal worth pursuing though. "It's still pretty new, Hinoiri. We haven't really been like.. spreading it far and wide yet."

Hinoiri Kirara has posed:
Hinoiri Kirara couldn't help but snicker, a hand moving over her mouth. "Oh dear. Well, I never imagined Naru-chan for being the big public display type. Adrien-san, though? That makes sense. Don't worry, I won't tell anyone that you can do the whole... touch of life thing."

Would have been good to know SOONER, though. She could have--

... Wait. Was that why he was there with Setsuna?! Would grabbing him have been better? ... No. The girl needed medical help. Real medical help. He might not have been enough. And she couldn't have grabbed both. Ugh. If only she were stronger then she COULD HAVE. Note to self. Get. Stronger.

"Gotcha, Naru-chan. My lips... are... sealed... wait, WHAT? What do you mean 'possibly broke your shoulder'? Haven't you been to a doctor yet?" Hinoiri asked, the annoyance clear in her voice. "I don't care if you're friends with a bunch of magical people, you need to have someone with actual medical experience check that out. If you did break something, delaying it will only cause you more trouble in the long run. Don't you have any self preservation instincts at all?!"

And Hinoiri sounded... legitimately... furious there. Not mad. Actually furious.

Mamoru Chiba has posed:
"Just keep in mind," Mamoru says mildly to Hinoiri as he takes Naru's hand, then goes around behind her to gently put fingertips over the visible bruise, "that the more you lecture her, the more stubborn she'll get about it."

As soon as Mamoru takes Naru's hand, the pain is less; when he puts fingertips against the bruising, there's a faint golden glow that Hinoiri can absolutely see, right there, and the pain is lessened even further in favor of a warm lazy feeling, like laying in a meadow in the late afternoon of an early summer day. There's calm that comes with it, and Mamoru is silent for a moment as the swelling begins to go down, and he says, "I think you dislocated it, then managed to get it back in place somehow. Everything is bruised, there's actual tissue damage, but no breaks in your shoulder," he murmurs. "There's a hairline fracture in one of your ribs, and then what you did to your back..."

He takes a breath. "I can get one or the other today, and what's left tomorrow? Your shoulder and the bruising around your rib should be good in a minute, though."

Mamoru laughs a little distractedly. "It was definitely the right call, though."

Naru Osaka has posed:
"I'm not!" Naru tries to protest about her fondness for PDAs, but reality says otherwise. Snuggling in the Crown is not subtle.

"The school nurse picked the gravel out of my back." Naru comments quietly. "I got it checked out. If it didn't get better soon, I'd of gone for xrays." She probably wouldn't have, but she likes to tell herself she would have.

And then there's that feeling of peace, and Naru's eyes drift close as calm is layered over the aches and pains.

"If you can get the rib, I'd appreciate it." Naru murmurs to Mamoru as he provides the full assessment of what the youma provided for her. "I think it's the worst for nto letting me move correctly."

Her expression is a little rueful to Hinoiri. "It's not weird for me to end up a little busted, but this is a lot, even for me."

Hinoiri Kirara has posed:
Hinoiri Kirara narrowed her eyes on Naru. "What? Why would she get more stubborn about that? She's not stupid, I'd hope. She just... oh. The school nurse? Yeah. She's pretty good about this stuff. She'd probably be fine. Hmph."

"... You know, maybe we should get you like... an emergency watch. So whenever something comes upon you you only have to push a button and everyone knows you're in trouble. You're not supposed to get into fights, Naru-chan, you're usele-- helpless," Hinoiri said, quickly correcting herself and cringing. Before sighing. "Just... be careful, okay? I don't have any powers, either, but I manage to avoid getting myself killed on the regular. Only a witch and a few... other things..." she grumbled.

"... Wait, picked gravel out of your back when you hit a wall? Just how hard did you hit this wall? ... did... did you knock it over?"

Mamoru Chiba has posed:
"Rib it is," says Mamoru, definitely going sort of abstract again, closing his eyes; his brows knit as the bone knits, and he thinks: get better at this. Get better enough at this that it doesn't take two whole transformations to be strong enough to heal all of this at once like it's nothing--

He thinks: this is fine. This tired is fine. It means I'm doing my job.

He stops thinking, and it works better; the warmth may have the sensation of 'this would be uncomfortable if anything hurt right now', just around that rib, that knitting fracture--

--and then Mamoru sighs and lets go of Naru's hand, drops his other hand from her shoulder. "Calcium. Take calcium supplements for a bit, I think. And take it easy." The warmth lingers a little bit, but the sensations that come with the healing, the calm and the laziness and the sunshine, they bleed off when Mamoru lets go.

Then he flops back down onto the couch, and his head back against the wall, and he says, "I don't think a signal watch would help enough. There was one time she got kidnapped and the person who did it took away her phone and emergency stuff. There was zero I could do to help, let me tell you how crazymaking that was..."

Naru Osaka has posed:
"I slid on the way to the wall, and basically had road rash all down my back." Naru now can mostly shrug again, thanks to Mamoru. "I mean.. if the youma was aiming to use me as a bowling ball, it did a terrible job. I didnt' roll at all, it was more shuffle board." She considers. "I did not check the condition of the wall, but it was still standing when I left." She grins to Hinoiri. "I have avoided getting myself killed successfully to this point. I didn't exactly /plan/ to take on a youma by myself. Not on my to do list that day no."

Naru settles quiet again as Mamoru works his magic.. quite literally.. on putting her back together. As he finishes, she takes a deep breath.. something she hasn't managed in a few days. Her attention settles on him and her tone is quiet. "Thank you. It is appreciated. You should also take it easy." She gestures him to go back to flopping on the couch. "Sure you dont want anything?"

Naru can now go back to making coffee, and while she's very very careful at what she does with the left arm, it's clear that ribs are truly awful for impeding movement. She moves /so much better/ now. "Yeah.. stuff is too easy to get taken away, or even just be out of reach." She erms softly. "And.. I dont really want to harass everyone I know /every time/ something goes weird. By the time it's gone weird enough for me to have a good sense that I can't cope, then rarely do I have spare cycles at that point to contact people." She pauses and then adds. "Or I'm unconscious, or worse.. I am still conscious in one of those damnned mirrored boxes." She shudders a little.

Hinoiri Kirara has posed:
Hinoiri Kirara cocked an eye. "I mean... that's why it's a signal watch. One button. No fumbling, just run, push button. Literally two second alert. I mean, sure, it might not tell people where she is if it gets taken away, but a lot better than fumbling with her phone and getting stabbed during that time."

She gave an exhausted sigh and rubbed the back of her head. If she had known Naru was going to be THIS much of a hassle, she wouldn't have kidnapped her to begin with! And she only did it the once! It wasn't like any of these other times could be blamed on her! "It only takes once for it to stick, it's not like there's a resurrecting from the dead magical person out there." Pause. "At least... I don't... think there is."

She jsut side eyed Naru. "Okay, seriously. Are you sure you aren't magic after all? Just magically attracting trouble? You could be... Ummm... Sparkle Skirt Magnet?" Hinoiri offered with a shrug before glancing back to Mamoru. "You know, though. That's a pretty sweet trick. Remind me to seek you out next time I fall down the stairs or something." Falling off her bike was what she would have said. But she was FAR too amazing, talented, skilled and incredible for THAT to ever happen. At least, that was what she'd tell people if anyone asked. Which they probably wouldn't. But if they DID!

Mamoru Chiba has posed:
Mamoru keeps his mouth shut. Usagi said he never died, not for a second, and he'll take her at her word-- and the way his hand rests over his chest like he's out of breath might be anything, up to and including being out of breath. That's all it is. Naru absolutely did not see him take mortal wounds up on that hill.

Instead, he laughs and says, "Believe me, I'll take it easy. I'll be fine in like fifteen minutes, but I'll make excuses for not going out and socializing tonight, it'll be great." A little quieter, with a crooked smile, "You're welcome any time."

His eyebrows go up at Hinoiri. "You don't fall down the stairs often, do you? I mean, I hope you don't! But yeah, if you know Adrien, I'm right next door. I can give you my number if you want it, or you can call Usa and she'll get me out of wherever I am."

Naru Osaka has posed:
"I am totally a trouble magnet." Naru confirms as she gets a second coffee ready and offers it to Hinoiri. "I dont think I need to be all that magical for that to happen." She snickers a little. "I did warn Adrien that dating me was going to be hard on his blood pressure. He keeps having to put up with me after fights, poor guy."

Props to Adrien for not having fled yet.

Naru does not, at all, say a thing about mortal wounds. Nope. Not a thing. Nuh uh.

"I wouldnt mind being social tonight, but I'm going to be good and stay in and not stress the shoulder." Naru looks over at Hinoiri and pffts softly. "You're more likely to crash your bike than fall down the stairs. I know how you drive." The teasing is warm.

Hinoiri Kirara has posed:
Hinoiri Kirara failed to notice the reaction from Mamoru, or at least assumed it was just from using his powers. Still, she'd definitely need to remember that. Considering the number of times she'd been wounded, well... the last thing she wanted was to find out Hematite was back and if she got hurt then, well... Now she had a healing guy to turn to. Maybe it'd be nice, having a friend who could help her.

That thought made her frown. NOT a friend. A lackey. Usagi's boyfriend. Usagi was a friend, sure. But she was special.

"Hm? Ahhhh, let me guess, not a big socialite?" she asked Mamoru. "Man, I'd have imagined being around Usagi-chan would have made you adapt to it. that girl could befriend an angry yak." Alas, the two would have no idea just how clever that quip of hers was, but trust her. She'd definitely say it was incredibly clever.

"Well, no. Not often. Fell down them... I guess technically up them? Last week though. Conked my nose real good. I heal fast, though. Nothing was broke, at least. It's nothing compared to like... miss soccer dive dodging youma over here."

She'd then glance back to Mamoru. "So... you said she should take calcium supplements. Does your magic like... use up the energy of whoever you're healing, rather than your own?"

Hinoiri took the coffee and blew on it a few time. She then gave a snort. "I'll have you know I have *never* crashed my bike aside from like, the first week on it. I'm just *that* amazing*."

Was probably good. If she crashed it, she'd likely be dead. "Should do a double date sometime." Pause. "I guess... triple date sometime? Not sure if that's really... a thing here." Actually she wasn't sure if that was a thing back home, either. "Not, err, now, though. Sayaka is uhhhh... going through some... stuff. A whole lot of... stuff." Her brow creased a moment before she took another sip.

"Wait, so is Adrien a sparkler too? I didn't know that. Or is he just aware? Cause if he's not... oh, wow. Dating you'd be miserable. Every time you hang out you'll have new scrapes and he'll think you're part of a violent sport or something. Naru-chan, world renowned roller derby quarterback or something."

Mamoru Chiba has posed:
'After fights' -- Mamoru glances at Naru, then laughs at Hinoiri's question. "He's in the know," he says, and adds, "I honestly just assume everyone is, and if they're not and I say something stupid, people just think I'm playing around. We're in high school, we should be able to be nerds if we want." Then the tall boy smiles lopsidedly. "I can only pretend to be truly social for so long. If I'm low on energy, I can't really pretend very well...that's when I hide behind Usa."

He starts picking himself up, though. "Your nose doesn't look broken, so good on you for setting it if you had to do that before it healed..." Right. Edge of couch. Mamoru sits there for a moment with his elbows on his knees. "It uses up my energy, but their resources. I can't generate bone and blood out of nothing, but I can put it back and use what's there. I can-- I can keep someone going, if there's not enough..." He's looking away. He's definitely looking away.

Then he smiles again, and then it's a grin when Hinoiri says how amaing she is, and he hauls himself to his feet. "Triple date sounds like fun. I, however, am going to go hug my bed for a little while. Good to get to meet you, Kirara-san! Naru-chan, I'll check in with you tomorrow, see how you're doing. Ja ne~"

And he is out the door like that.

Naru Osaka has posed:
"Usagi could totally befriend an angry yak." Naru agrees on the potency of her besties social skills.

"Not diving, throwing." Naru protests on the details with a snicker. "You haven't crashed it /yet/." She points out with a snicker and then has to relent. "It /was/ a great ride though."

"Wait.. you and Sayaka are a thing?" Naru blinks. "How did I miss that? And you didn't tell me! You can't get /that/ mad at me about Adrien if you arent' telling people either y'know."

Naru sips from her coffee. "Aware." She answers on the topic of Adrien's magical abilities, or at least his preferred story. "I mean.. we kind of /are/ part of a violent sport.. but I can tell him it was a youma, rather than him thinking there's a lot of very strong muggers in Tokyo, or something."

"Take care of yourself, Mamo." Naru's tone is gently concerned. "Mutual check in tomorrow. I'm sure I'll be fine enough." Someone has no deep desire to use up more of his energy, it's clear.

Hinoiri Kirara has posed:
Hinoiri Kirara couldn't help but nod to Mamoru, he had the right idea. "Yeah. I've noticed there seem to be a lot of people who know out here. More who don't, but... the ones who are seem to end up attracted to each other."

She did, however, cock an eye at Mamoru's comment. "Well, I hope my nose doesn't look broken, since it isn't. If it did, I think I'd have an entirely different problem. Ugly nose syndrome, it strikes one in ten girls at RHA, but for a small donation, you too can help ensure it doesn't claim another lost, innocent soul."

She then glanced to Naru and snorted. "Not going to yet, or ever. I'm way too good for that. I beat google maps almost every time now." IT'S NOT A COMPETITION!

"And... uhhh, yeah. Thought I mentioned it to you? My bad. We started dating after she saved me from a witch and... since then... yeah. Girl has been... has been going through some things. Lots of things. She's.... she's a handful. Means well, but--"

And, right on cue, her phone went off. She growled and whipped it out, tapping a few times and shook her head. "Well, speaking of violent sports, I need to go too. Naru-chan, stop maiming yourself. Or at least do it when I'm around so I can see you pull off some wicked drop, tumbles and smashes. I'll see you later." She took another drink of the coffee, dumped out the third that remained and then rinsed it out before dashing out the door.

Stupid fraggin' raggle. RAWRGLE! Did she have to do EVERYTHING?! Why did she even HAVE jobbers if they couldn't handle the basic stuff?!
