There was a lot of blood.

Adora wasn't feeling much pain, anymore, which she knew from experience was a bad sign. Her fingertips had gone numb, which would only make what was coming harder to do.

It was late enough at night that the convenience store was manned only by computers, so nobody was there to raise an eye at her broken, bloodied state. They'd find evidence in the morning, however. She limped through the aisles, slowly collecting everything she'd need.

Those idiots were trying to help her? Yeah, right. They were pitying her. Or mocking her. She didn't need either of those things. Not from anyone. Her shakey hands carried the goods, clasped against her chest, as she shouldered open the doorway to the bathroom.

She let the merchandise tumble into the sink as she stared at herself in the mirror. She barely recognized herself. Sweat and blood stuck a locke of blonde hair against her cheek, and she was badly torn up, her clothing ruined.

Was she corrupted? Were they telling the truth, or just trying to find an excuse for why she was saying to them what she always should have said? Adora wasn't sure.

She slowly stripped the clothing she needed to, and then spent a long time using the sink water, and a bottle of alcohol, to clean her skin and wounds. With her lightly trembling hands it took a lot longer then Adora would have liked.

After that she took a needle and thread, and clenched her jaw as she sewed everything up. There were claw marks along her rib cage and a few down her tummy, and both of her forearms were badly marred. That stupid cat. She wanted to grab her by the hair and...

...No. No, that's not right. She's angry at her, yeah, but...she doesn't want to hurt her to prove it. Usually. Her brow furrowed and she glanced up at herself again in the mirror. Was something wrong? Something beyond her messed-up, teen emotions fueled by a life of struggle?

Adora's expression hardened. If something WAS wrong, the only person who could have caused it would be Sunbreaker. She needed a talking to.

The sun was almost up when she finally finished sewing herself up, and wrapping her chest and arms in bandages to keep the stitches in place. She shrugged on the t-shirt she'd taken from one of the aisles, and then dropped the remains of her work in the trash can.

Adora tried to clean up the mess, but it was impossible for her in her state. She fished out enough yen for the goods, and a bit extra, and left it on the countertop on her way out.

She wasn't evil, after all. Simply very, very messed up at the moment.

Okay, step one down. Step two began now. Find Sunbreaker. Get answers. After that? After that she plans on having another conversation with her kitten.
