The video begins. Riventon is standing in front of a desk. Throughout the video, Riventon emulates the voiceover's instructions in a demonstrating fashion.

"Hello, and welcome to the instructional video on your new Sparkleskirt Solving Sword, or 3S. Please watch this video all the way through, as this weapon has several unique features you need to be aware of in order to ensure the weapon, and you, can perform at peak potential."

"First off, you will notice that the 3S begins in a handy carrying form - looking only like a hilt without the guard, with a purple gem at the bottom. This is because in modern-day tokyo, visibly carrying a giant hunk of sharpened metal is generally frowned upon. In this form, you can easily tuck it into a pocket or hold it in your hand without drawing attention. Now, on picking up the 3S you will experience a feeling which ranges from mild tingling to a moment of light pain. This is normal and will pass shortly. This indicates the weapon is attuning to you, and you to it. Once you've done it a few times with the weapon the feeling will become reduced or even absent."

"Grip the hilt with both hands firmly and will it to become a blade, and - like this - the blade will materialize. It won't work in objects or people or youma - only in open air. You don't have to yell anything out while you're doing this, but kind of like with attacks it might help you generate the needed emotional state for the magic to trigger faster. Now, in addition to the fact that you now have a big freakin' sword, this sword's blade is made of a mix of steel and Dark Energy. This means it's betteer at solving sparkleskirt problems - allowing it to contest magical weapons and defenses of our enemies. Mundane weapons simply don't stand a chance against it. It's good at all of the things you would want a sword to do. It slices, it dices... actually that's most of what you want a sword to do. Dark energy transferred into the sword is automatically collected on the leading edge, giving you a concentrated bang-for-your-energy-buck. If for some reason you don't manipulate Dark Energy yourself, first off why the hell not, secondly the gem at the bottom can store a limited amount of Dark Energy, enough to manifest the sword for an hour or so. But it will feed on your negative emotions - anger is an easy one - so let them flow until your enemy is destroyed." A tiny set of text appears for just a moment that says 'not responsible for emotional cascades'. "If you're in the right state of mind you can even cause it to shoot out slashes of energy when you swing, which is handy when you want to cut somebody but you don't feel like walking all over there to do it."

"Like you did to manifest the sword, you can hold the hilt in both hands and will the blade away and it will return to its handy carrying form."

"And there you have it, your guide to the technomagical powers of your new toy. If there are questions or constructive ideas you can text me. Any complaints or whining ot blaming the tool for your own failures, you might as well just send to Ted, because he'll care more than I do."

Obsidian Jingle plays. A happy female voice intones: "Obsidian: We Change Your World."
