(PHONE) Naru Osaka texts: Swords or knives?
(PHONE) Kazuo Saitou texts: Context or mystery?
(PHONE) Naru Osaka texts: C'mon, aren't you psychic yet? ;)
(PHONE) Naru Osaka texts: I got loaned a sword for a fight. It was pretty awesome. (The sword, not the fight) But hard to just /have/. Knives seem awfully little, but distance (thrown) and easier to acquire.
(PHONE) Kazuo Saitou texts: I am blessed not to be able to hear every detail of everything everyone thinks is important to keep secret, ninety-five percent of which is mindnumbingly boring. - Ah. Knives don't have a great deal of distance, and balanced ones are also hard to just have. If one didn't have laws to worry about, the answer would be 'yes, and.' Sadly we don't live in USA.
(PHONE) Kazuo Saitou texts: (I retract the 'sadly.' The amount of gunfire must keep people up at night.)
(PHONE) Naru Osaka texts: Alright, you're probably right about the mindnumbingly boring. I was mostly thinking that knives are easier to hide. Although hard to acquire. Both are hard to acquire, but it WAS nice not to throw my shopping at things.
(PHONE) Kazuo Saitou texts: If it wasn't obvious? The solution I went with previously is "practice what you can, then improvise." The more you learn, the more you can adapt it to. And the more options you have if you figure out a way to get and carry things, especially if at some point you get a video-game inventory.
(PHONE) Naru Osaka texts: I may have asked Takuto if he gets a commission from Kendo Club.
(PHONE) Kazuo Saitou texts: If anyone gets a commission from Kendo Club, I'm going to have words with the captain. (Mostly because I want my cut.)
(PHONE) Naru Osaka texts: I'll be sure to use your referral code if (when?) I wrangle my schedule to take up Kendo on the regular.
(PHONE) Kazuo Saitou texts: If you don't, then let's work out a time we can do something unofficial. They don't have a trademark.
(PHONE) Naru Osaka texts: Unofficial would be easier to squish in the schedule, if you're willing. Could also be at fight nights, or more than just that. More options is very appealing. Especially more options for after I get squished.
(PHONE) Kazuo Saitou texts: (A series of emoji follow: spiral-eyed face, x-eyed face, knife, knife, swords, axe, brick, knife, fireworks, person asleep in bed)
(PHONE) Naru Osaka texts: The first two suck. Just saying.
(PHONE) Kazuo Saitou texts: Agreed. What's your schedule look like this term? You just do art club, right? Or am I wrong?
(PHONE) Naru Osaka texts: Art Club, Debate Club, Fight night and an actual fondness for good grades.
(PHONE) Naru Osaka texts: You? What's your schedule like?
(PHONE) Kazuo Saitou texts: Fight's in the class schedule, isn't it? If you're doing two clubs already, we'll probably have to do an unofficial thing. Maybe we can find a time your other friend's free, too. More than one opponent is pretty important.
(PHONE) Kazuo Saitou texts: In theory, normal classes plus kendo. In theory, my temporary job will be over by then, unless the gods are mocking me in particular that month. I need to be home a lot right now, but my mother's getting better, so hopefully that won't last either.
(PHONE) Kazuo Saitou texts: In practice, I don't actually sleep much, so I can do homework at weird times if it helps.
(PHONE) Naru Osaka texts: That does not sound super healthy, for the record. I sleep more when I've been in fights, I usually end up drained or injured on some level.
(PHONE) Kazuo Saitou texts: I make it up in the boring classes.
(PHONE) Naru Osaka texts: Can I drop something off for your mother? Also I expect Takuto would be willing to practice with us, he's also in Kendo Club.
(PHONE) Kazuo Saitou texts: Shall I pick it up for her? And ... hm. Is that the new transfer? I'm not sure I've met him yet.
(PHONE) Naru Osaka texts: I can't keep track of who's new and who isn't anymore. Not having met him yet implies yes. Youv'e been busy too.
(PHONE) Kazuo Saitou texts: It's the between-terms thing. Also I can't remember what year he's supposed to be in. But he's supposed to be very good, so I'll hope he's interested.
(PHONE) Naru Osaka texts: I was too busy trying not to get more squished to do any evaluating of his form, but he's very enthusiastic.
(PHONE) Kazuo Saitou texts: Priorities are important! I'm pleased to see you kept yours in the right order. Did you manage not to get squished? Clearly not so much as to keep you from using your hands, but in general.
(PHONE) Naru Osaka texts: I zigged when I should have zagged at one point, and took a pretty obnoxious hit to my shoulder, but that was all. The bruise took a while to heal, and I went to single hand on that sword, but it healed up alright.
(PHONE) Kazuo Saitou texts: Oh, you're doing well.
(PHONE) Naru Osaka texts: Hey, I didn't become a zombie. That was the alternative.
(PHONE) Kazuo Saitou texts: That was a nonsarcastic approval. Bruises happen. Not becoming a zombie is excellent.
(PHONE) Naru Osaka texts: It hurt enough I thought I was going to need an x-ray, but by the time I got home, it was clearly just bruised. If someone loses their mind about someone getting between them and their dark melon slushy, it's probably Bad News.
(PHONE) Kazuo Saitou texts: Dark melon slushy.
(PHONE) Kazuo Saitou texts: ... Dark melon slushy.
(PHONE) Naru Osaka texts: It was a warm day. It sounded delicious. Right up until the zombies.
