You text Setsuna Meiou: Are you immortal?

You text Setsuna Meiou: Are you a god?

Setsuna Meiou texts you: That's a rather odd and specific set of questions to ask a lady, Mister Harlaown. Might I inquire perhaps in what context these questions arose?

You text Setsuna Meiou: I don't even know. I just... I can't right now. Can you answer the question? Are you?

Setsuna Meiou texts you: Mister Harlaown. I get the feeling that you have, once again, been confronted with the reality of what things are like in our little neck of the woods and it's causing you some form of mental distress. So rather than add to it as I so very much could by telling you a truth that is a lie, I will instead tell you that No, I am not a God. Were I so, things would be vastly simpler for me here.

You text Setsuna Meiou: Good... good. Thank you. I... I think I'm going to come to the medical bay and fill out my report. Medical bay. Medical bay. Nurse's office. That. Then just... lay down for a bit. Or... ...... ......... Sorry. I'm sorry. Never mind. I think I'm better now. I just needed a moment.

Setsuna Meiou texts you: My office and my ear are open to you anytime, Mister Harlaown. Please, make use of them soon...otherwise I feel we might have to put you on some medicine for high blood pressure.

You text Setsuna Meiou: Thank you, I appreciate it. But I'm fine. I'm going to go and... look. I think. Some more. I just need to... rest. For a little bit.

Chrono finally just... collapsed. On a roof, inside the city. A roof. He just laid there and stared up at the sky. She'd only answered one of the questions. So she was immortal. Then, finally, he started his report.

Everything he'd been through ran through his mind. Meeting Adora. The belkan, Hannah. Learning about magical girls. Starting the school. Fighting Riventon and nearly killing him. Apparently the pretty cures had a god. The weird cat boy. The pokadot girl. The monsters. The training sessions. Nanoha. Rashmi. Koji. Greta. Darien. Faust. Again and again and again and again and again and again he started, then stopped, then deleted, then restarted. Then...

He finally just gave up. He just dumped all the scans, all of the recordings, everything he'd done, he'd seen, and just... left it for them to sort out. If this ever made it off the planet it was their problem. He was tired. So tired. A part of him wanted to just curl up into a ball and cry.

He'd never not had TSAB support. There had always been that safety net. He'd never NEEDED it, that was the issue. He was exceptional. He was special. He was above the grade. He'd always had it, but never needed it. But now he needed it and he didn't have it. They needed him. All of them. He had so much to teach. He had so much he had to do. It was his responsibility. He was the soldier. He was the one who'd trained for this. He was the one who... He was supposed to be an enforcer. Yet, for the first time since his father died, he felt like the child he was. He felt weak and small and afraid. More than anything, he was scared they could tell. When even the enforcer was afraid, was unsure... what strength could he give them?

He knew how important morale was. He knew how important it was to seem like you knew what you were doing, like you were in control even when you weren't. He'd done speeches, he'd acted calm, he'd played the role for so long even he had believed it... But now? He didn't know anymore. He felt like he was cracking. He needed a break. Nothing made sense anymore and... and he just...

He just wanted his mother to be okay. He wanted to scream, to cry, to yell. But he didn't even know how to anymore. He missed everyone. He missed having a support network. He missed things following rules. He missed things making sense. He missed... knowing what he was doing. He knew more than them, though. And as scared as he was, how scared were they? If he broke... He couldn't... break. He couldn't...

It took hours but, finally, he made one more message. Sent one final little call for help... He needed to be strong. And sometimes the strongest thing you could do... was ask for help.

He finally sent a message to Adrien, letting him know he wouldn't be back for a few days, not to worry. Then set an automatic response to texts and calls. If it was life or death, contact the nurse's office. Chrono... Chrono was going on leave.

You text Setsuna Meiou: ... I'm not okay. Can we talk?
