Synopsis:	Thanks to a tip from Naru, Chrono heads to a nearby cellphone store to take a look at the staff... And track down an old friend.

“Sir? Can I help you?”

Chrono didn’t respond, instead just staring at the man. Aikaze. The Head Communications Officer. He was here. He was real. He… was selling someone an extended warranty on their phone. And suggesting the many reasons to get a case. Which, frankly, wasn’t a bad idea. Cases for phones were very useful, since they were expensive.

“Uhhhh… are you lost, little boy?” the woman asked. “Is your mommy here?”

“What?” Chrono asked, finally snapping out of it and looking over at the other worker. “Uhhhhh… no. I was just… ummmm…”

“Yes, the V3 is pretty impressive, I know,” she said with a smile. “But I think it might be a bit outside of your needs for now. We have plenty of phones ideal for younger students, are your uhhh… parents here?”

Chrono just sighed before pulling out his school ID. “I’m fourteen.”

The woman stared at it. Then stared at him. “Really? Why?”

Chrono just opened his mouth, then closed it. Then opened it again. Finally… “What… do you mean, why? Because… because I was born fourteen years ago?”

“I mean… well… you’re kind of… errrr…” she said, before coughing and looking away. “I mean… so who are you cosplaying as?”

“… A final fantasy villain,” Chrono said in a flat, unamused tone.

“Everything okay over there?” Aikaze called out.

“Yes!” the woman called. “So, what can I get for you today?”

“I… actually just need to speak with him,” Chrono said, motioning to Aikaze. The woman blinked before sighing and giving a shrug. She then walked off. He’d wait as long as needed…

Especially once he heard a small, gentle ping from Windy Echo. That. That was his user. That was his master.

That was the third of the nine. He was a third of the way there.
