Owner Pose
Iona Hikawa Every once in a while, Iona thought back to the PreCard she had acquired that day. That one was a really odd card. Sure, there wasn't really a theme to what they could do and they actually were all over the place, but all the ones she had seen so far allowed you to mimic a skill. So, what should she think about a PreCard that actually changed your body a certain way?

And it's not like she didn't get the appeal of it. She herself was curious about what it would be like to become a mermaid and swim unfettered from the usual restraints that being underwater poses. But can such a thing really work? That's what brings her to the beach, the intention to test the mermaid PreCards and experience its feeling for herself. Luckily nobody else seems to be around as far as she can see, Iona thinks while she walks towards the sandy environment.

Though, maybe people are in a place she can't see, or maybe someone has noticed her walking to the beach during the end of winter and they are curious about what she is doing, or maybe there is some other unknown factor.
Cure Princess The little bluette needed a break from the stress of school...and that mean, mean roommie of hers. After some consideration, the girl has come to the beach! She's wearing a cute blue two piece, though it isn't like she has anything to show off. Still, it matches her hair perfectly, which is pulled up into a careful ponytail.

She walks along the sand, barefoot with a large blue pail and little shovel in one hand, like a child. She hums a bit to herself, smiling softly as she looks out over the lapping water. Here and there she pauses to dig her toes into the sand, furrowing her brow and then shaking her head. She has yet to find the perfect spot!

She pauses when she spots Iona, and the girl takes a deep breath to calm her sudden nerves. "H-hi! I didn't expect to run into anyone I know out here..."
Iona Hikawa Iona is now at an impasse. The Precard will certainly provide her with an appropriate swimsuit, but what is she supposed to do before then? She came there covered in casual clothes to avoid getting cold, but entering the water while she is wearing them isn't something she looks forward to (especially once she has to get out again), and transforming first is equally distasteful because she would have to drag herself all the way from the sandy ground to sufficiently deep waters.

She is lost in these thoughts when she hears a familiar voice calling out to her. She sighs, apparently having missed someone. Turning around she spots the princess of the Blue Sky Kingdom, and contrary to what Iona decided, Hime is in a swimsuit, a choice that leaves Iona with a raised eyebrow.

"Aren't you cold in that?" is the first thing that comes out of her mouth before reminding herself to greet the fellow Precure. "Hi, Hime-san, nice to meet you. How are you doing these days? I am here to test a PreCard." She doesn't ask what Hime is here for of course, she can perfectly see she intends to build a sandcastle. They ''are'' supposed to be the same age, aren't they?
Cure Princess She shrugs a bit at that. "Nah, not really." Her high energy likely keeps her at a slightly higher body temperature then most. "I mean, I'm not -warm-, but I'm not cold. Besides, why come to the beach if you're not showing off a cute outfit?" She beams and does a twirl on one foot before landing on both again. She perks up, then and skips a bit closer.

"A PreCard? Oh! That sounds fun. What is it?," she asks curiously. She sets her bucket and shovel down. That can come later! Right now cool newe outfits and powers are being discussed! "I'm...okay. My roommate is really mean, so I need to take breaks from her every once in awhile, you know?"
Iona Hikawa She is not ''warm'', but she is not ''cold''... What is is she supposed to be then? There really isn't an intermediate state, is there? Is Hime a miracle that runs on her own trail? "Are you a singularity of sparkles and zephyrs?" Iona asks, not a hint of irony or judging intentions.

"You have a point about showing nice outfits, but there really is noone to show them ''to'', the purple-haired girl waves at the empty beach. And then she frowns when she hears Hime has a mean roommate. "Hime-san, are you being bullied? If you are, let me talk with your roommate. I will be sure to set a few things straight with them." Is this actually Iona Hikawa, the girl that not too long ago missed no chance to berate the princess of the Blue Sky Kingdom, offering to act as her aegis?

"The card I meant is this one", Iona says, taking out the Mermaid PreCard and showing it to the shorter girl. "Do you have it too? It's the first time I hear of a PreCard that transforms your body."
Cure Princess She giggles when she's asked if she's a singularity. "Well, I'm not sure what a singu...whatever that is -is-, but...mabye?" She adjusts her long ponytail and crouches down to hug her knees and look out to sea as they talk. The lapping water seems to make her a bit relaxed. It's amazing to her that not that long ago she was terrified of Iona. And yet...here they are now.

She bites her lip when she's asked if she's being bullied, and she quickly shakes her head. "N-no. I don't...don't want to bother you with that. Ryoko-sempai is..." She trails off, and looks to get notably stressed at even mentioning the name. "She's..." She doesn't finish whatever she was going to say, glancing up at Iona, instead.

"You don't need anybody to show an outfit off -too-. All that matters is that you feel pretty. If other people say it, too...amazing. But...it's not -about- them." She squints at the card and hops back to her feet. "OH! I do! I have that one! Being a mermaid is -amazing-!!"
Iona Hikawa Iona politely sits down next to Hime when the bluenette does the same, making sure to neatly fold the skirt under her. She will have to shake the sand off later, but that's something she can deal with. She makes sure the water won't make her clothes wet, though, walking back to the dorm with wet clothes would be horrid.

And Iona has a name now, one she immediately engraves in her memory. And she certainly takes note of the troubled look the bluenette has when she mentions it. The situation must be really serious, she realises.

"Hime-san, I realise things have been off between the two of us until recently, but I mean it when I say I want the two of us to get along now. So, if I can help you with this roommate of yours, please let me do it. That's not a bother. We are allies now, fellow Precures and I think... f-friends, too...?" She is notably timid when saying that word.

Iona nods when Hime elaborates on what she said. She understands now, her own feelings are important, because she herself feels validated in her passion. "I get it, I think that's an important mindset you have", Iona smiles at Hime.

It's surprisingly useful that Hime has that PreCard too. "Would you like to test it together with me, then?" she offers after noting Hime's enthusiasm.
Cure Princess She smiles softly when Iona moves to sit with her on the sand. The girl goes quiet and lets Iona speak, turning to look out over the waves again. She kneads at the sand a bit, since she doesn't have any cute skirt to hold onto for comfort this time. "I'd really like it if we are friends," she replies after a long moment, just above a whisper. Her cheeks color in embarassment as she glances back over to the girl.

"Ryoko-sempai is cold and cruel. She's mean. When she isn't ignoring me she's mocking me or yelling at me. It makes being in my room...difficult." She takes a deep breath.

The compliment about her mindset makes her absolutely -beam-, and that worry and stress washes away in an instant. Like Tinker Bell, she's too smol to hold one emotion at a time. Or thought, let's be honest. "Thank you! And yes, that sounds amazing!"
Iona Hikawa That uncharacteristic shyness Iona demonstrates disappears when Hime declares her agreement about the two of them being them. "Re-I mean, thank you, Hime-san. That means a lot to me." The purple-haired girl smiles when she looks over at the same waves Hime is checking, filled with relief over the shorter girl's answer, though she won't be the one to use the suffix -chan first.

"Don't worry, Hime-san", Iona says, putting a hand over the bluenette's shoulder. "I will try to meet up with her. A talk with them is something that's really important." Some boundaries need to be set, and Iona doesn't mind being the one to do it for her friend.

And since Hime has agreed to try out the card together, Iona reserves a smile to the bluenette, even with the annoyance she is about to undertake. "Thank you, Hime-san, we can go then." And with that she uses the PreChan Mirror to transform, feeling the sudden weight having a mermaid tail confers.

Her clothes have been replaced by a simple swimming top, and a bilayered purple and lilac skirt, while her hair has fashioned itself in the same ponytail as her Cure Fortune form and with the same decoration. "I hope I am going to be more agile in water", she says, dragging herself and her new purple tail with her arms to waters she can swim in. "At least, you have a swimsuit, so you don't have to worry about getting it wet", Iona remarks to Hime.
Cure Princess She hops to her feet and fishes out her transformation compact. "Okay, Iona-chan!" Well, THAT was quick. She uses her own PreCard and in a flurry of color and sound, she transforms into her adorable mermaid form! Her hair becomes one incredibly long, thick ponytail that flows down her back, and her bikini bottoms become that long, flowing blue skirt to cover her tail. She rolls towards the waves with a laugh!

"Come on! This is lame on land! To the sea!!"

She vanishes beneath a crashing wave, and a moment later she emerges, flashing a bright grin from twenty or so feet out.
Iona Hikawa It doesn't take much longer for Iona to reach Hime and the first thing she does is leap under the crashing winter waves, amazed at how her body doesn't seem to register the cold despite the winter season. Rather, the water is pleasantly warm to her. Is this what being a mermaid is like?

For the moment, she tries swimming around to get used to it, enjoying the finesse and control she has over her movements. The water is clear and doesn't irritate her at all, not to mention how refreshing it is not to have to hold her breath for hair. After a minutes of this, she tries a powerful tail kick, propelling herself up in the air before crashing back down.

She swims up to the blue mermaid and tells her "This is amazing, Hime-s... Hime-chan. I can't believe you had this incredible PreCard all this time. I have never felt so good swimming."
Cure Princess Hime swims about happily, diving beneath the waves. She swims to the shallow sand floor and back to the surface again, chasing Iona about as she enjoys it and gets used to the form. She flashes a smile at the other girl when they're both above water.

"It's not the same alone. It's...nice to have a...a...friend to share it with," she admits with a clear blush. She brushes wet blue hair from her face and lounges back on the rolliung surface of the water, staring at the sky.

Seeing the clouds rolling by against the blue sky sours her mkood a bit, though, and she dives back beneath the waves.
Iona Hikawa "I guess I can understand why", Iona agrees, smiling at Hime. "It's just... so much more fun to share it with somebody."

She stares back down at the water and holds a thought for a few moments. "It's incredible what magic is capable of. We are creatures of legend. I guess I can't quite believe it still", she exclaims, pensive. "Hold on a second, Hime-chan, I will check something."

Then she turns her head down and bends the rest of her body underwater, continuing a bit of undersea explorations. When she reemergees two minutes later, she doesn't see Hime there, leaving her surprised. Diving back down, she finds Hime fairly quick and informs Hime of her discovery. "There are some pretty corals and swarms of fish not too far from here, want to come and see?", she offers her friend with a smile.

It is then she notices Hime's sour mood and she stares intently at the bluenette's eyes. "Is something wrong, Hime-chan?"
Cure Princess She bites her lip and shakes her head. "Just...y'now...blue sky." Hime points upward, and then waves it off. "But, yes. Yes, I'd love to see some pretty fish and coral." The girl does her best to smile and brushes wet hair behind one of her ears.

She gives the other girl a playful splash. "Lead the way! It'll be nicer to stare at then the sky!"
Iona Hikawa Iona stops when Hime communicates the reason behind her mood change. "I'm sorry, Hime-chan", Iona says, holding the bluenette in a hug with the clumsiness of someone who isn't used to doing that. "We will get them back, everyone is in this together, we won't let the Phantom Empire do as it pleases for much longer", she tries to reassure her.

After undoing the hug, Iona starts leading the way like Hime has asked, quickly reaching the corals she wanted to show her, a predominant red mass, but with occasional splotches of all other kinds of colours. Lots of silvery fishes with an orange stain on their heads go in and of those corals, searching for food and shelter.
