Synopsis: Hinoiri is doing work on the yearbook... and a few students decide to investigate. Glitter... has mysteriously vanished, what could this mean?!
Cast of Characters: Hinoiri Kirara, Norie Okana, Amanda Faust, Veronica Perenna

Hinoiri Kirara has posed:
Hinoiri Kirara had joined the yearbook committee for one reason. To scout. To study. To learn. By seeing everyone in the school, she could effectively learn their weaknesses and how best to destroy them from the inside. Shatter their bonds, break them apart, ensure that nobody could stand against her rise to glory!

She'd actually given up on that plan a while ago because my gosh some of these girls were so many levels of nice that it was a little weird and she was havign enough trouble seeming 'normal' without it. But being part of the yearbook committee DID offer her some power. Like. An incredibly small amount. And just over the yearbook. But she did like power, no matter how miniscule it was, so she had decided to do the job.

Also, it was fairly easy even WITH her struggles with hands. And even with one hand wrapped up in so many bandages it couldn't move. So today she was just doing some very basic organization stuff in the yearbook committee office, letting people come in who wanted to offer suggestions/requests/etc etc while she did the basic checklist work.

Norie Okana has posed:
Norie Okana stared at the door to the Dance Club, ruefully. She wished she could enter it. She wanted to. Desperately.

But she was kicked out. For attacking other students. She looked down at her hands. Dumb, draining energy hands. She didn't wear gloves. She wanted to. Speak to others who needed gloves first. No one was like that here, but she passed the yearbook room and then paused and looks into the room, peeking a little from the doorway as she blinks and kind of remains peeking, gripping the frame of the door.

She remains silent during this time.

Amanda Faust has posed:
Yearbook? There's a word Amy hasn't heard in nearly two decades. "I'm almost surprised they still print them... isn't it the future, now?" she mutters to herself as she looks at the sign next to the door.

She's had over two months to get acclimated but occasionally it feels for a moment like she's the adult who has some reason to visit the school but it out of place in a teenage world. Or like an adult staff member since, well, she *was*.

...She then realizes there's another student standing right there. Shit, did Norie hear her? She scratches the back of her head awkwardly. "I mean... It's 2023, it's the future, you know? But I saw a fax machine in the teachers' office... they don't still *use* it, do they?"

Did that work? Does she sound like a regular student?

Veronica Perenna has posed:
As any good school, Radiant Heart of course has a Yearbook club, and Yearbook means many things: student activities, photography, collage, design and decoration. And of these it's the last one that has piqued her interest. After all, what best way to put her embroidery skills to the test than a club full of people seeking to decorate the climax of the year's school activities, each of them with their own requirements and preferences?

So, she makes her way to the Yearbook Club and on the door there are two other student too. People part of the club? Doesn't look like it, otherwise they would have come in already, especially since they don't seem intent to talk with each other, but that's still perfect! She can ask them for things they would love to see in the Yearbook and propose that to the club for something everyone can enjoy!

With a big smile, she makes her way to the two of them and asks "Hello, nice to meet you! Are you trying to take part in Yearbook activity?" She bows towards them before introducing herself. "I am Veronica, and I am going to do that too! If you don't mind, I am going to come in. And if you would like we can discuss more inside!"

Hinoiri Kirara has posed:
Hinoiri Kirara was inside the room. But oh, she could hear them. And she'd seen the person hanging out there, with the door open a crack. She'd tried to ignore them. Tried to turn them out. Occasionally wrote something with her non-dominant hand. Occasionally--

"If you want to come in, just come in already!" she snapped, yelling through the door. "Otherwise, go away! It's not a shopping mall, it's a hallway!" she snapped. Yes, she had anger issues at the BEST of times. And now was not the best of times. Now she was a bit miffed. Okay, a lot miffed. But her hand still ached constantly and that would put anyone in a foul mood.

Norie Okana has posed:
Norie Okana does hear Amy. But she doesn't read too much into it. She knows this girl. But not as Norie Okana. She looks over to Amy and kind of sidles away from the door and looks over at Amy. "...Fax machines are required for certain documents still, usually. Government. I would think." she says quietly, very monotone in her vocal patterns.

"...I am. Norie Okana. I am. Looking at. Clubs." she says stiltedly. "Is this. The Yearbook Club?" she asks to Amy.

She looks over to Veronica. Having already introduced herself as she bows both to her and Amy.

She then looks back to the room and the outburst as she entered. "....Sorry." she says quietly. Did something happen to this girl's hand? Well obviously. Yes. That was a lot of bandages.

Amanda Faust has posed:
"Medical, mostly." Amy replies without thinking, and then internally facepalms. "F-for sending records, I mean. And yeah, s-stuff like the student aid paperwork and stuff..." Just stop talking! Change the subject!

"This is the yearbook club, yeah." Amy points to the sign.

She wanders in, may as well roll with this. "Y-yeah. I'm more a... games, competitions, music type person? But I just... wondered what you do here, I guess. Deciding how to present our treasured memories for the years to come, huh?" <-- Has looked at her old yearbooks once, maybe twice, in almost two decades.

She notices the hand, but says nothing. This student is probably tired of answering 'what happened to your hand?' dozens of times today already.

"I'm, uh. Amy Faust. Ninth year. Pleased to meet you." She bows, and then holds out a hand to Veronica to shake.

Veronica Perenna has posed:
It's no mystery that the girl is irritated, and the reason is crystal clear too with the hand bandaged like that. No doubt she can smooth things over though! "Hello", she breaks the ice as she comes in, with a bow and a smile towards the yelling girl. "I am Veronica, and I desire to provide some assistance to the Yearbook Club!"

She looks at what the girl is writing, curiosity motivating her to check whether it had something to do with club activities. You never know what could provide you some inspiration, right? Nevermind that it could be some delicate matter of hers. "My specialty in this regard is embroidery. Anything I can help with?"

The brunette shakes Amy's hand as that is offered, listening intently, the thing catching her attention is her grade. 'Huh, she is 2 schoolyears ahead of me we are about the same height?' She looks at the redhead better. 'Hmm, she is a tiny bit shorter, actually.' "I'm grade 7 myself, Amy-senpai!" she concludes the introductions.

Hinoiri Kirara has posed:
Hinoiri Kirara just sighed and resisted the urge to face palm. Especially because she'd use her right hand for that and... please no.

"Yes, we are the yearbook club. Hence the plaque on the wall." Pause. "Assuming nobody stole it again as a prank." You never knew with people. They were weird. "Hinoiri Kirara. So, important question. Do... any of you actually have business with the yearbook club? Because we're not a zoo. I'm doing work, you know," she snapped. Then sighed and shook her head. "Sorry, sorry. I'm just a bit snappish the last few days." She waved her arm a little to demonstrate why.

And ohhhh. Veronica did want to help. That at least...

...

............

"Embroidery... in... the yearbook. Is... is that a thing? Do people do that?" she asked. She couldn't even be mad. She was just so confused. How did you respond to that? Did people USE embroidery in their yearbooks? Should she? Could she? Was that like... a common occurance? "Uhhhh.... go ahead, knock yourself out?" she offered. Blink blink. Confused blink.

As for what she was writing... it lookedl ike she was taking stock of everything. Making sure they had all the things they needed, the glue, scissors, etc. Inventory management hoooo!

Norie Okana has posed:
Norie Okana would flinch a little at Hinoiri's words. She then watched her wave her arm around. "What happened?" she asks curiously. "To your hand?"

"I am. Trying to find a new club. I guess. I saw there was someone in this room?" she asks. Evwen though it isn't a question at all.

"So we work on the yearbook. How. Far along are things?" she asks, looking at the notes and papers around in front of Hinoiri.

"Ah. Do you. Have all those things?" she asks.

But then she gets a puzzle piece in all this. Amy's actual name. She files it away. She'd always been 'that red girl' in her head.

Amanda Faust has posed:
"Nice to meet you!" Amy replies, even though she already said something like that. SHE CAN SOCIAL, SHUT UP.

While Hinoiri is talking, Amy follows Veronica's gaze, mildly curious if Hinoiri is left-handed or not. But then she sees...

"...You're taking inventory on *paper*? Don't you want a computer tracking system? I could whip up something in PHP and MySQL with a XAMPP install in--" She freezes, then backs away. "Oh wait, sorry, sorry, not part of the yearbook club, I didn't mean to disparage your way of doing it! I-I'm sure it's fine..."

Veronica Perenna has posed:
"Sure that's a thing", Veronica nods in confirmation. "Both the cover and the sides of the pages are good places where we can put some designs", she starts explaining, taking out a few printed papers with the designs she had planned out.

"For the cover, I have a photographic easel in mind with the sentence "With every captured instance, a fond remembrance", she says putting the first sheet next to Hinoiri's inventory list.

"Meanwhile for the pages inside, we could put something that relates to the achievements and events within, but for a few examples we have: a track field, a drama mask and a volleyball", she lists with proud excitement, putting each of the sheets on top of the table. Yes, she came prepared.

"If you approve the one that would go on the cover first, I can dedicate my attention to that and start embroidering right away, as that would be the one taking up the most time on its own, and you can spend time planning what you want inside."

Hinoiri Kirara has posed:
Hinoiri Kirara just blinked a few times before glancing to it. "Someone didn't tie up their guard dog and it snuck up on me," she said. Kind of a lie. Kind of not. At least, not so much a lie in how she saw it. "Bit the hell out of my hand and I had to get out of there quick as I could."

"Well, the year is fairly early so not very far along. I'm mostly just taking inventory right now, making sure we have everything we need and that nothing has gone missing. We need someone here in case people swing by and have suggestions or things they want to offer. And since I can't do my other club, I volunteered."

The handwriting, well... Oh. Oh wow. IT was easily the worst hand writing Amy had likely ever seen. Like. She was right handed. But it also looked like she had a seizure in the middle of it.

However, Amy's reaction just drew a flat, unamused look from her. "You drastically over estimate anybody's ability to care about this. If you wanna try, knock yourself out. As for me? I was just given this sheet of paper with all the things we're supposed to have and checking them off. Right now I'm trying to find..." Pause. "two bins, with 35 packets of glitter each. Who... who in the world needs this much glitter?" she mumbled, frowning.

Annnnnd then Veronica proved that while her ability to care about inventory was in question, Veronica's care of design was not.

"Oh sweet Sora..." she muttered under her breath too low to hear. "Uhhhhh.... and... you know there'd be like... hundreds of these, right? Possibly even thousands? Like... I'm not sure how we'd be able to embroider every cover?" she asked. Okay, she did NOT know if there was a machine for that, but she was so far outside her depth. "But ummm... I can bring it up at the next meeting. I'll need your contact information, though."

Norie Okana has posed:
Norie Okana oh. Glitter. Norie Okana knew about glitter recently. She gently fumbled. "Glitter. Okay. A moment..." she said as she walked down the hall to the supply closet for the clubs. Glitter, Glitter...

Comeing back, she had exactly, three bags of glitter. "That's all that was there." she says quietly as she placed them down onto the table.

"We probably. Need to order it." she said. "If we need that much."

Amanda Faust has posed:
"...What does the *yearbook* committee need glitter for? You're not making crafts, or putting glitter in each yearbook, are you? ...*man*, that's a really long-reaching prank if you do. Someone's gonna look through their yearbook in like 2040 and *bam*! Glitter."

She looks at Veronica. "Wait. You're going to... embroider every cover?"

Veronica Perenna has posed:
Veronica winces sympathetically as Hinoiri explains how she got her injury. "That ought to have been really scary, you must be so glad it's mostly over", she says, looking at the plain bandages on Hinoiri's hand, an idea showing up in her mind. "Kirara-san, I can do nothing about how irritating that must feel, but would you like if I made an embroidered pin for you so it would look a bit more pleasant to the eyes? You can detach and reattach it everytime you change the bandages."

She also a thumbs up of encouragement to Hinoiri when she talks about the huge number of books they would have to work on. "That's why I want to start right now! I can get a working example out soon, that's more time for me to work on it, and moreover, I can start using it to advertise this activity, and convince other students into embroidery or sewing to take part into this effort."

The brunette turns towards Norie as she provides help for Hinoiri by finding exactly what she needs. "Hmm, Okana-san, right? Do you know your way around the various clubs by chance? Would you like to help with the recruitment?"

Veronica looks at Amy. "Well, that's only part of my intention, as I just explained. I don't think I can do everything by myself. But I can use what I put out as the incentive to get people to participate."

Hinoiri Kirara has posed:
Hinoiri Kirara nodded and quickly wrote that down. "Apparently we're missing like ten glitter bombs worth of glitter. I'm sure that won't bite any of us in the flanks later," Hinoiri muttered softly. "And no idea. Maybe they just intend to give everyone a packet of glitter to remember the school by. They can dump sparkles on their pants and skirts, it'll be fun times by all," she said in a dry, unamused tone. "Probably putting glitter on the covers or something."

She nodded to Veronica. "It was less... scary than 'Oh crap, oh crap, ow ow ow ow get this dog off me!' and stuff. Now? Now it's mostly annoying because it keeps hurting. Really a quick way to turn me off dogs for life, at least. And uhhh... no thanks. When it comes to my casts, I'm really more of a... function over form girl." She reallllly didn't want anything messing with it. Especially for when she henshined.

"And sure, if you wanna try and embroider that many, go wild. If embroidery's your special talent, nothing wrong with putting it to good use and making sure you can get as much practice as you need. Be the best embroiderer in the world, then," she said. She didn't even sound sarcastic. Actually genuine. "Just so long as I don't have to do it. I'm not going to want anything sharp near my hands for a while once this heals."

Norie Okana has posed:
Norie Okana blinks when a glitterbomb is suggested.

"Ah....nnnnm." she goes as she narrows her eyes. Where did Hotaru get all the glitter for...

She glitters a little in the light of the room as she moves to her phone a moment.

Amanda Faust has posed:
Amy blinks. "How do you know how much glitter goes in a glitter bomb?" She wonders.

Veronica Perenna has posed:
Veronica nods as Hinoiri politely declines her gift. "Crystal clear, I hope you get to take off the bandages as soon as you can."

She also smirks complacently at Hinoiri's approval. "Thank you, Kirara-san, I will do my best!" She quickly scribbles her contact info onto the backside of the sheet with the design she suggested for the Yearbook cover. "There, now, we are set, thanks a lot for being willing to suggest this."

Hinoiri Kirara has posed:
Hinoiri Kirara blinked a few times and then looked up at Amy again. "... It's a glitter bomb. You take a bunch of glitter. And you then add more glitter. That is how much glitter goes in a glitter bomb. It's like.... seventy packets of glitter. It probably makes more than ten," Hinoiri said with a sigh.

She nodded to Veronica. "It's why I'm here. That and... locating the great missing glitter heist of '23. Someone will do hard time for this," she said darkly.

Then glanced up. "That was obviously a joke, if nobody can tell. I doubt anybody cares that muck about glitter. If they do... well... my condolences to the rest of their lives. You'd have to be pretty out there to want to protect glitter that badly," Hinoiri muttered before writing down... something... on the paper. Seriously. How could anyone's hand writing be that bad?

Norie Okana has posed:
Norie Okana gets off her phone and looks down at it a bit as she looks back up and considers a bit. "Glitter can be expensive." she finally says. "I had an experience with glitter earlier today. Figured could be. Related. They are not."

She blinked again and looked to the room a moment.

"What else is there on.. the uh.."

"I can't read that." she says bluntly.

Veronica Perenna has posed:
"Thank you for your time, Kirara-san", Veronica bows towards her. "I will go and start making preparations for the first embroidered yearbook cover then."

She turns towards Norie as she mentions an incident, curiosity prevailing over her. "Could you tell me what kind of incident, Okana-san?" she asks, her eyes glistening with interest.

Hinoiri Kirara has posed:
Hinoiri Kirara gave a soft sigh and shook her head. "Yeah, my hand writing isn't the best at the best of times. Doing it all left handed isn't helping matters. I can read it, at least, so that should be enough. I'll delegate it later or something."

Or she'd henshin and use telekinesis to type it up. Likely that. Muuuuuch easier than waiting for someone else to help with it. "Unless you wanna stick around and take over the writing duties while I locate things." Hey, free help was free help.

Norie Okana has posed:
Norie Okana looks to Veronica. "Oh. Nothing. Just a surprise party. For a friend." she says quietly.

"Lots of glitter." she asides. She looks up towards the Dance Club's room door from here and twitches a little as she looks back down to Veronica. "Embroidery is going to take too long."

"It's a fruitless endeavor." she says, finally. As if she was stating the sky was blue.

Veronica Perenna has posed:
"I can recommend you a calligraphy tutor, if you want?" Veronica looks towards Hinoiri again, eyebrows slight raised, not actually sure if she really wanted her to go through that, but hey, it was her choice. "It wasn't really that necessary in my case, but my parents still made me go through with it (something about upper class expectations, they are a bit old-fashioned), so I have some experience with navigating the sector."

Veronica nods in understanding, smirking. "Ohhh, like a birthday? Your friend ought to have been incredibly happy for the surprise. Not actually sure about the glitter bomb, though. Was the cake good?"

Veronica shrugs when Norie calls her plan a fruitless endeavor. "Worst case scenario, only a few people will enjoy them. That's better than no people enjoying them."

Hinoiri Kirara has posed:
Hinoiri Kirara shook her head quickly. "Oh no. Nope, no thank you. My handwriting isn't that big a deal to me. I've got a lot more important things to worry about." Like a world to rule. She cocked an eye at that 'class expectations'. "Ah yeah. I... can at least understand that. Fortunately, my hoo-- handwriting was never really that important." Her horn writing, at least, was impeccable. Or would be. IF SHE HAD ONE.

"But seriously, no," Hinoiri reiterated. Words did not express how LITTLE she wanted to write again. "Sounds like you had a wild day then, getting glitter all over the place, hopped up on sweets. You certainly seem to be hyper now," she said with just a hint of snark to her tone. "And eh, if nobody cares, so long as you develop your craft it doesn't matter. You'll know you did your best, so who cares if other people fail to see it?"

Norie Okana has posed:
Norie Okana twitches a little when Hinoiri makes a snarky comment at her.

"Is that meant to be funny? I'm not laughing." she says bluntly. She picks up on the snark. Oh she does. "You know what. Nevermind. You enjoy. Your. Elementary School chicken scratch or whatever it is you're putting down on that paper." she says blandly as she looks at Veronica.

"I suggest you give up before you realize no one will like it." she merely says again, in a matter of fact tone before she starts leaving, with a huffy air about her.

Offended could be one of the few things she could still feel.

Veronica Perenna has posed:
"Thank you very much, Kirara-san", Veronica smiles widely. While she herself doesn't and won't see it as a fruitless endeavor, having Hinoiri express her nonchalant opinion in her embroidery's defense pleases her, since if she was truly neutral, she would have said nothing.

"I look forward to changing your mind", Veronica says after the exiting girl. "And I will gift you, Hinoiri-san and Faust-senpai a copy." Her tone doesn't carry a milligram of irony, just pure confidence in her ability to succeed with her perseveration.

Hinoiri Kirara has posed:
Hinoiri Kirara cocked an eye when Norie just... flat out freaks out. "Uhhhh... yeah?" she said. Wow. First time the girl showed any emotion and it was to that little thing? She'd have been more annoyed, but frankly? She just had to resist the urge to poke that nerve more. Not around others, at least. If it was just them, though....

"Don't let the door hit your tail on the way out," she said after Norie. Before giving a nod to Veronica. "Sure, go wild, blow our minds. Who knows? Maybe you'll revolutionize... embroidery," she said in a flat tone of her own. Waste of her time, but eh. World probably needed embroidery for... something. Might as well perfect the art.
