Cast of Characters: Hinoiri Kirara, Rashmi Terios

Hinoiri Kirara has posed:
It was just a few days before Christmas and the Korma was likely about as busy as normal when the evening order came in. It was a fairly standard one, vegetarian korma, 'surprise me' on the desserts, a few veggie samosas, a variety dish.

Hinoiri had only ordered something similiar like... a thousand times. Of course, it also was hardly a rare order. Sometimes she swung by, other times she had it delivered.

Today? She swung by. Leather jacket, helmet at her side, obviously just a pop in and out.

However... when she did arrive, she scanned the area for Rashmi, before lifting a hand. "Hey, Rashmi-san?"

Rashmi Terios has posed:
It's the lead-up to Christmas, and all through the curry house...

The restaurant is doing its brisk business as usual, customers happily dining and the kitchen going a mile a minute. It's one of the days where Rashmi volunteers to help the waitstaff, and thus when Hinoiri catches her she's just finished collecting an order, and is about to drop it off at the kitchen. When her name is called, she answers with a bright, cheery wave.

"Hallo, Hinoiri-san! One sec!" And she bops to the order window, dropping off the ticket, before moving to the front-of-house podium, already reaching for the menu. "How're doing? Is it gonna be your usual, today?"

Hinoiri Kirara has posed:
Hinoiri Kirara gave a nod. "Yeah, I called in my order, I just had to go for a drive. Should be about ready for pickup?" she asked.

She then rummaged through her pockets. "So... where I come from it's tradition to during hear-- during holidays like this, give the service people who did a good job a small token of appreciation. So... here," she said before pulling out a small wrapped box. She put it on the podium.

When she opened it, it'd be... a jewel box? A RING?!

No.

It was a small, crystal brooch. Like a scroll. "A librarian at my old school had glasses just like yours, I figured it'd fit your style. Don't know why, you always just strike me as... bookish."

... Ironically, they did meet outside of a library. But Hinoiri tried to forget that meeting. It was... a little... shameful.

Rashmi Terios has posed:
At 'I called in my order,' Rashmi pauses, chuckles, and puts the menu back. And she's *just* about to turn to get the order, when Hinoiri talks about giving service people a gift... which point she just stops dead, blinking in gentle puzzlement.

When Hinoiri puts the gift on the podium, puzzlement turns to surprise... and when it's revealed to be a jewelry box, her eyes grow wide, and she looks up at the flame-haired biker in shock. Upon opening it, however, shock transforms into wonder. "Whaaaaaaa... Hinoiri-san this is *beautiful!* I... are you *sure?* This looks *super* fancy!"

Oh, she likes it very much, that much is absolutely clear.

Hinoiri Kirara has posed:
Hinoiri Kirara gave a light chuckle and nodded. "Yeah. Trust me, it's nowhere near as fancy as it looks. One of those 'looks really nice' pieces from home, but isn't really anything too fancy. So don't worry about it," she said with a small chuckle.

"Besides, concidering all the orders you've had to haul out for me by now, you've more than earned it."

Admittedly? It was just something she'd accidentally picked up during the heist... that turned out to not actually be anything really valuable. Sure, it was *nice* looking... but the magic on it had just been something to make it more glittery. A novelty item, at best. She'd almost thrown it out, before realizing someone here might appreciate it.

Rashmi Terios has posed:
And appreciate it Rashmi does indeed. Immediately upon being assured that it's not *too* fancy, Rashmi extracts the brooch and affixes it to her shirt, with a little 'squeeee' sort of noise.

...Upon which, Nicomachea sees fit to deliver a telepathic ping. << MASTER. CAUTION. UNIDENTIFIED LOW-LEVEL MANA SIGNATURE PERMEATES OBJECT. ANALYSIS PENDING. >>

"So does it look good?" she asks Hinoiri, turning just a bit to let the sparkle-enhancing magic catch the light, as she mentally answers her Device. << Okay keep an eye on it, and let me know if there's any change? You have my baseline, you know who to alert if there's a problem. >>

Internally, the presence of magic has her a touch confused, but... As prevalent as the magical community is, Hinoiri is probably someone she just hasn't met while in a fight, so it's all right.

"I love it, Hinoiri-san, thank you *very much!*"

Hinoiri Kirara has posed:
Hinoiri Kirara gave a small nod, completely unaware of what Rashmi was discussing with her device. "You're welcome. Happy I could get something nice for the girl who's always bringing my food when I'm too lazy to go get it myself. It looks great."

At the very least, though... Hinoiri was grateful she was able to give it to someone who appreciated it. It was... nice. A little bit of home, spreading out into the world.

Oh, how little she knew how accurate THAT thought actually was...

"Right, so I just need our food and I'm good to go." She slid the yen onto the podium to pay for it, of course.

Rashmi Terios has posed:
Rashmi startles out of her admiration of her present, a hot blush growing on her cheeks as she has to be reminded she's still on the job. "...Yes! Sorry! I'll be right back!"

Scooping up the yen, she dashes back to the order counter, then the till, and hurries back to the podium with food and change in hand. "Thank you again, Hinoiri-san," she says as she passes them over, "you've really made my day! Thank you *so much!*"
