| Towering over the suburb of the Pikarigaoka Ward is Clover Tower, a huge broadcasting tower in the middle of the otherwise suburban area, the location chosen to get the best broadcasting signal. Regardless, the large open expanse to the city has made the Tower popular as an elevator takes people to the very top to a viewing station, from which one can see the entire city.
At the top of the tower is a shape of a four leaf clover, done in yellow, purple, pink and blue colors, which can only be seen from overhead, and which gives the tower its grand name. At its base is a small shopping mall of sorts, with stores, stands, and other similar kiosks advertising food, wares, and trinkets of the tourism trade. Above that is a berth of small station studios, where some TV shows and soaps are filmed on set -- which also makes the tower popular as many people try to spot their favorite TV personalities, or try to let their 'acting talent' be 'discovered'. | ||||
