"PRETTY CURE! FIRST LIGHT SHOOT!!" A small sun drops from the sky right in front of Cure Daybreak. She winds up and punches the little sun and sends it flying into a terribad. As the terribad is purified, Daybreak speaks, "Hope return to the heavens." And then its quiet. Mountains of mold that had been spread courtesy of the terribad returns to being a chunk of the city. A green haired general from the phantom empire teleports away having lost his terribad. The person who was trapped in a coffin mirror is released and everything is as it was.
Pin flies over to Daybreak. "I feel the warmth of a sunny day!" She pushes her nose out. "Rub it please!" Daybreak smiles and rubs her nose. This makes the fairy laugh and then sneeze. A pair of cards pop out of her backpack. "We are one step closer to your dream!" She puts the cards in the precard decor and puts the case away.
Daybreak powers down before anyone sees her in her powered up state. Her phone chirps. She quickly grabs the phone and takes a look. A half a dozen phone calls were missed, all from her dad. While she was fighting the terribad, her dad must have been trying to get ahold of her. Why? "Oh no! I'm late!" Mio quickly starts running toward her father's home. "I am so late! Dad's got to have been worried. We gotta get to his place and get started."
It doesn't take super long for Mio to get to her father's house. She quickly lets herself in to find her dad already working on the on the baked goods. "I am so sorry dad! I didn't mean to be so late. Something came up last minute. Its this new club I am a part of. There was an emergency meeting." She states trying to hide the fact that she is lying about this new club. Even though technically it IS a new club. She quickly moves to the sink and washes her hands before diving into some flour and sugar.
"Mio-chan, You know I love you and I enjoy helping you to get stuff ready for your bake sales but you've gotta at least answer your phone when I call about it. It could have been someone really important. It could have been the hospital calling for you because something happened to me." Her father explains as he puts a few dozen cookies into the oven.
"Dad I am so sorry. I didn't hear my phone ringing. I wasn't trying to stand you up. I just had to meet with my new club and solve a big problem." She starts working on some peanut butter blondies. "This new club is really important and it helps a lot of people." She explains as she puts a few flats of blondies into a second oven. From there she starts working on brownies. "I really wanna help people, you know?"
Her father starts on some yellow cake to make Candy Cakes. "I saw your grades. Cutting it kind of close aren't you? Maybe you should drop this new club next year so you can focus on your studies. I know you have trouble with your studies. I want you to see you succeed. Is helping people so important that you sacrifice your own future for it?"
Mio sighs, "Dad, it is. If I can inspire hope with one person then its all worth it." She pauses. "Oh I didn't get to tell you. I've made some new friends too. My new Roommate said she'd help me study next year. I'm not going to fail. I am going to graduate and then, I am going to try to get into college." She smiles to her dad. "I just need to find a balance between this new club and the rest of my life. Its really crazy." She goes back to making her brownies.
Her father finishes making the cake and sets it aside to rest until the cookies are done. "Thats good Mio. I am happy for you. You have a good heart and I believe you are going to make a difference in the world. Just don't give so much of yourself that there is nothing left for you." He comments as he starts another cake. "You are very much like your mother in the way you want to make the world better and bring hope where there isn't much. Just remember to take care of yourself." He smiles warmly to her.
Mio finishes up the brownies and starts working on some other confections for the coming sale. "I understand dad. I will find a way to balance my life a bit. There is so much I need to do but I need to take care of myself too. Its hard to balance that life and doing stuff for myself." She smiles. "Oh dad, Subject change. Can I get some yen for a yukata? The festival is coming up and I wanna go with my friends. Dad you would really like them. They have been helping me out a lot and I hope I've been helping them."
Her dad smiles and nods. "Okay. I will send you some yen. Just try not to break the bank. I want to help you but I know some of those yukatas can be really expensive." He pulls out the cookies that are now done and sets them on the cooling rack. He sticks the cakes in the oven and starts working on some other baked goods.
