Coco has failed. That's twice she has. Once by inaction, having heard Marinette's plight and now the poor girl is heartbroken for that, while Adrien is with Naru, and then, the other... Where Ami broke out in hives, and directly ran away, leaving Tadase stumped, probably.
The only thing she has been good at is procuring her own soulmate, not really the best look. Maybe it's time she hangs up her boots and accept she isn't actually all that good. At least Madame Taki can get serious when she wants to. What does she have?
No, it's clear that she may as well stop calling herself a passionate matchmaker. She should try working at something that she is actually good at.
Like what? She is a bit lost now. She prided herself on it, and she was so happy when Cho, the dearest friend she made here, had come to her, and was on board on doing it with her.
She stares at the Black Jade, that Obsidian technology that has been regulating their apartments for months, and with a variety of functions she never really bothered using.
"Black Jade, imitate Sara", Coco commands and the little device hums a little when it start charging her voice and personality, the ones she installed from back when she couldn't bear Sara's cold shoulder. It was time for a trip back to her home.
Later on, keeping the Black Jade safely closed in a mini Live Stage, Coco is swimming around, letting Sara's voice spread around for a few hours, and soon enough, she feels the voice resonate off of something, that would have taken her days to find alone without... the legendary spiral shell, where Sara had closed her own feelings, not that it spared the orange mermaid from her own broken heart laying waste to everything around her.
The shell vibrates with pain and malice and dark energy, the representation of the pain that she has been unable to avoid for her best friend.
She will save her one day, she is sure of it... But when she does, maybe she should present Sara a face that has outgrown those silly fantasies about being a matchmaker and found a better way to spend her time.
She goes back to the surface, singing all the while as she holds the tainted shell to her chest and waits for it to stop radiating dark energy.
Hours later, she thinks she should try getting into sports among humans, she thinks, as she combines the energy of the purified spiral shell with that of the Sealing Key to cause a change deep within her: now she will not have to hide her identity any longer, and goodbye to risk turning to seafoam. She doesn't suppose that they will accept a mermaid in swimming competitions, right? Or at least, she will find some other sport, if not.
