There was the usual gas explosion sort of explanation on the news, but all the mahoujin know what the aftereffects of a King's Pillar look like.<br><br>And this time, there were signs put up in school about the volunteer cleanup project for the street in that bright and busy ward. It looks good on your high school record, the signs said. Try to convince your teachers to give you extra credit because it might work, they said.<br><br>At least the caustic dust has settled by now, and there's construction PPE available for everyone -- hard hats and gloves and safety vests, safety glasses.<br><br>Takuto jams his hard hat on top of his spiky red hair and poses with one foot up on a big piece of rubble and one hand on a hip, shading his eyes with the other hand, his hair sticking out the sides and back of his hard hat, and looks dramatically across the crater like it's the ocean.<br><br>"Welcome everyone! They won't let us do the actual construction and I don't blame them, but we have the go-ahead, with the city's thanks, to remove rubble and pieces of poor innocent people's cars and move caution signs and whatever.
