Background
Sailor Venus of the Silver Millennium was the Princess of her home world of Venus, the leader of the Inner Senshi and the dedicated protector of the Moon Princess and the Moon Kingdom. Dwelling in the Magellan Castle and leading the army of her planet. Falling in the great battle that caused the collapse of the moon kingdom and the scattering of the princesses. Reincarnated along with her charge Sailor Moon and her sisters in arms, Venus was reborn as Minako Aino.
Minako's life as a child was a happy one, an excitable child with a love of performers and dreams of one day becoming an idol. This would change when Minako was approached by the white cat Artemis at the age of 13. Sent to guide the Sailor Senshi and support the team, Artemis awakened her memories of her past life of the Silver Millennium and instructed her in her duty to become the beautiful guardian 'Sailor V.' Informed she was the daughter of the 'Twin Star' world of Earth and destined to protect Earth from its enemies, she began her duties fighting crime and defending the world from the threats of the force known as the 'Dark Agency'.
These battles would test her and even take her far from home, leading to her spending some time in London and meeting a young Interpol Officer who would serve as a 'Big Sister' to her, teach her English and eventually steal the heart of the first real crush the young heroine had ever held. It was in this time of personal anguish and rejection that Minako would finally receive a lead to the location of the true Princess of the Moon Kingdom and her most important duty as the girl's protector. Guided by Artemis, Minako traveled to Tokyo and enrolled in Radiant Heart Academy, ready to locate Sailor Moon and protect her from the threats that would surely come for her. After all, if she could find her? It was only a matter of time before the enemy did too!
Eventually Sailor Moon and the other Guardians would be awakened to their duties, but their first forays into their role as protectors found them (especially Usagi Tsukino) vulnerable, leading Sailor V. to assume the role of a decoy, pervading a ruse that she the Princess of the Moon Kingdom their foes sought. However, as the other scouts proved themselves willing and able to undertake their roles as Sailor Senshi, Minako would finally step forth and reveal the truth. Finally, she would assume the mantle of Sailor Venus.
Personality
Minako Aino's personality is one of duality, practically separated between her civilian identity. While one might think that this would logically mean one is false, the truth is that both are aspects of who she is: The Girl and the Sailor Senshi.
As Minako, she is a bright, joyful and occasionally silly person. An utter romantic, a 'less than enthusiastic' student when it comes to her studies and a dedicated friend, when she?s not seeking to have fun with those she cares about or playing matchmaker she is the sort to eagerly pursue her other great love: performance. She desperately wants to be an idol, eagerly chases after those who are and frequently attends auditions in acting, singing and dancing.
As Sailor Venus, she comes across as far more serious, with a focus and dedication to the mission as a Sailor Guardian that seems at odds with the arguably 'flighty' Minako. Having faced past battles as Sailor V. and having potent memories of her past life and an utter dedication to the protection of the kingdom and the Princess Sailor Moon to the point of thoughtless self-sacrifice. She is not without joy however, finding genuine excitement and love for their ability to be heroes, protect those in need and make the world a better place.
Focus
Like her fellow Sailor Senshi, Minako utilizes her Transformation Pen to undertake her transformation into Sailor Venus.
To transform into Sailor V she makes use of the same device and utters the alternative phrase: "Moon Power Transform".
Style
She is the one named Sailor Venus!
As Sailor Venus she manifests the classic Sailor Senshi fuku with an orange trim along with a pair of bows, elbow white length and a tiara. Venus fights with limited martial arts, primarily utilizing attacks of magical light she can form into bolts, chains to restrain her foes and even a blade of light to harm her foes.
As Sailor V. she takes an alternative form, under which Minako fought alone before the other Sailor Guardians were awakened. She used this identity to do battle with criminals and distract the enemy into thinking she was the Moon Princess while trying to locate the true one herself. She wears a different uniform under this name, Notably including a red mask, and her appearance and powers both incorporate the use of a crescent motif.
Sailor V's sailor suit is mostly blue and red and includes shoulder armor, quarter-length sleeves, and broad stripes of color. She wears a shirt rather than a leotard as well as her characteristic red mask and the shirt being sleeveless with ring-topped gloves. Tiny, ornamental crescent moon charms are visible on the straps of the indigo high-heeled shoes accompanying this outfit, completing the motif of the Moon Princess.
Powers
Venus is exceptionally athletic, even when compared to her fellow Sailor Senshi, showing proficiency in physical activities such as volleyball and a physical fitness to exert herself in battle for extended times without exhaustion. She also has comparatively sharper reflexes and is more tuned to dangerous situations than even some of the other Inner Senshi, attributed to her real world experience in crime-fighting and doing battle with the ?Dark Agency? in her days as the solo heroine Sailor V.
Minako Aino is a skilled stage performer thanks to her aspirations and -countless- hours she spent to try and achieve her personal dream of becoming a pop culture Idol. Between her experience with crime fighting and her talent as an impressive Volleyball player, Minako has become a very athletic and physically tough young lady, capable of impressive feats such as effortlessly scaling the ground to a second-floor balcony and haul herself over with such skill that one might think it were achieved in a single leap, even outside of Senshi form.
Sailor Venus can channel beams of magical light energy into various attacks, as well as summon a magical chain or whip of the same energy to restrain or attack her foes. While these have been expressed in various forms, they are most commonly presented in the forms of the 'Crescent Beam', the 'Rolling Heart Vibration' and the 'Venus Love-Me chain'.
When things are at the most dire, she can wield the weapon known as the Sword of the Silver Crystal, to face the most serious of threats to the Sailor Guardians. In the Silver Millenium, this weapon was utilized by Sailor Venus to kill Queen Beryl, though she herself died in the action only to be reborn.
This Sacred Sword rests as a 'Holy Blade' on the moon, resting there and only pulled from the stone for the most dire of threats to protect the princess. While drawn from the stone and traditionally wielded by Sailor Venus as the Princess' closest bodyguard, it can actually be utilized by any of the inner Senshi. This blade, at the height of its power is adorned with strange writing that only Sailor Venus can read and its power can be used to destroy dark objects enchanted with magical properties and even shatter material as hard as diamond.
