Pretty Cures are legendary warriors whose power typically comes from a contact or connection with another magical kingdom's power. In Laura's case, the power comes from her own kingdom, Grand Ocean, and arises from the Tropical Pact when a human whose heart contains shining sunlight resonates with a mermaid, be it a natural one or one converted by the Queen's power.

This would preclude Laura herself from becoming a Precure, but there will come a time when her heart will have learnt to resonate with a human's again and it is then she will be able to materialise a Heart Swirl Ring and the Queen's Mermaid Aqua Pact will make her a Precure, granting her a place among the friends she had made.

Until then, she will have to limit herself to cooperating from the sidelines with the Mermaid Aqua Pot, only being able to use it to recover and give back the stolen motivation.

Style

As Cure La Mer, Laura's blue eyes turn pink on their upper half, leaving the blue portions to form heart shapes, and she gains three small pearls on her eyelashes. Cyan nail polish is applied to her fingernails and pink polish on her toenails. She also has a small headdress of 5 blue pearls on her bangs and bigger pink pearls around her hair. Increasing in length (down to the upper section of her legs) and thickness, her hair grows turns azure before fading into pink at the head and ends, with the addition of two giant pearls around which her hair is coated.

She gains a pointed blue choker shaped as a curvy v connected to white lace and pale blue pearl earrings. She wears a light blue heart-shaped off shoulder top with a golden line separating it from a lace comprised of triangular segments. The sides of the heart are connected to the golden line by pink fabric. A blue crystal shell rests onto her top with a golden orb a pink bow just below it. Her midriff is left bare.

Above her skirt, the same lace motif repeats. Said skirt is short and has layers of purple, violet and cyan in this succession. From behind, a blue and pale pink train resembling a mermaid tail falls just under a blue bow. Her legs are covered by white stockings that leave open a section of her legs just above her feet, over which she wears white platform open-toed sandals with pink pearls and blue soles.

Powers

Mermaid Aqua Pot

A gift from the mermaid queen, the Mermaid Aqua Pot is Laura's second home, bigger on the inside, and it can let people in and out as Laura herself pleases, and when she lets in those who would otherwise drown, an indestructible bubble of breathable air surrounds their head. The bubble can still allow passage of things depending on the user's will. The Mermaid Aqua Pot can also float around at speed, store stolen motivation and give that back to the ones it was stolen from, and it shares with Kururun the ability to open portals to Grand Ocean.

Human/Mermaid transformation

She can can go back and forth between being human and mermaid as she pleases.

Cold resistance

In mermaid form, she can swim in even the coldest waters with no ill effects. This doesn't apply to cold caused by magic.

Sealife communication

Mermaids can communicate with sea animals and employ them as messengers.

Enhanced physical performance

Much like all other magical warriors, Cure La Mer's strength, resilience and agility all get enhanced to levels exceeding normal human capabilities, allowing her to fight by punching and kicking her opponents.

Swirling La Mer Stream

An attack Cure La Mer performs using her Mermaid Aqua Pact. It releases a water stream towards her opponent.

Ocean Bubble Shower

An attack she can perform using her Mermaid Aqua Pact and the Perfume Shiny Ring. It bombs the opponent with a myriad of bubbles.

Marine Beat Dynamic

An attack Cure La Mer performs by herself, using the Mermaid Aqua Pact and the Marine Heart Swirl Ring all at once. It forms a blue whale that swallows La Mer and then rushes towards her opponent as La Mer pilots it by swimming, purifying them as they are hit.

Snow Heart of Happiness

By singing the song of Chanteur, a path to happiness is shown, providing a purifying effect.
