Background

Born to a no-name photographer and a young woman who was his frequent subject, Chiyo was a child never meant to be. You see, the young woman who birthed her was an up-and-coming pop idol in an industry where pregnancy was enough to make you a persona non grata.

The pregnancy was concealed, and after birth the baby handed off to her grandparents so that Chiyo's mother could continue her career unimpeded, with little care given to the child she had left behind.

None of this is to say that Chiyo had a bad childhood. Her grandparents loved her dearly, and watched after her even while balancing the day-to-day grind of running their own business. The sweets stall sandwiched between a dry cleaners and a florist down a side street had been in the family for generations, always just barely managing to make even, until a chance discovery by a group of children from a newly-opened school nearby propelled it into stardom.

Even with the newfound fame, Chiyo's grandparents always made time for her. Of course some of that time was spent at the stall, showing her the ropes of making sweets, but then she always got to enjoy the fruits of their labor after. It's no surprise that Chiyo grew up to have quite the sweet tooth. Her favorite was when she got to help her grandmother with the daifuku, even with (or maybe because of) all of the hard work involved in making mochi.

Throughout her childhood, Chiyo's mother never had time for her. On special occasions she would send gifts, becoming more and more elaborate and expensive as her success in the idol industry (and then in the film and television industry, as she grew older) grew, but visits were few and far between, and always done under the veil of secrecy to protect her reputation.

When her grandmother died suddenly it left Chiyo and her grandfather to make due on their lonesome, even though Chiyo's mother became a more frequent visitor. Ultimately all this did was put more responsibility on Chiyo, both at home and at the family business, but even at a young age she just put her head down and did what had to be done. Maybe she grew up too soon because of it, but the quiet girl became a fixture at the storefront now branded Nounemu Sweets by the local kids outside of school.

It was there one day after school that Chiyo found a strange senbei mixed in with her afternoon snacks, and upon eating it became the Culinary Guardian Daifuku. With her spirit guide Bonito and her massive hammer, Chiyo is intent on putting the strength she gained pounding mochi to work protecting the innocent from evil.

As time passed she fought many battles alongside new friends. During the battle against Beryl she died, only to be resurrected with the power of the Silver Crystal later. It unfortunately left her without powers once she came back, though neither she nor Bonito knew why. Not long after the Star Driver trio put forth the suggestion that she could take a Cybody mark like them and become a Cybody user. This has led to her having an entirely new set of powers and abilities that she's now learning to use.

Personality

Mother Issues - Chiyo does not like her mother. Not because she gave up raising her, she can understand why that was necessary so she could continue her career. However ever since then her mother has never once tried to get to know her. When she sends gifts it's always things that Chiyo either has no interest in, aren't age appropriate, or are just stupidly lavish for the sake of showing off her money. It's clear half the time she probably has an aide buying gifts and Chiyo always noticed this lack of effort on her mother's part.

Believer in Love - Contrary to how it may seem given her parents (or lack thereof), she does believe in love having seen the relationship between her grandparents. A believer in True Love, she enjoys losing herself in shoujo manga to indulge in the happiness felt when two people finally find each other. As for her mother? Well she just didn't find her true love, is all.

Soft Spoken Until She's Not - She's not shy by any means, but she is quiet when she speaks. She chooses to speak quietly because she's learned from watching her grandfather at his shop that sometimes the best way to calm people down is to appear calm and quiet. In truth, she has quite the set of lungs on her due to her active lifestyle, and when she raises her voice people tend to take notice. Generally she uses this mainly when she's henshined as Guardian Daifuku because that's when it's most needed.

We Do What We Must Because We Can - Growing up with hard workers led her to a core belief that she should do what she can because others may not be able to. When things need to get done, she doesn't complain or look for a way out - She just does it. Though she's always ready to lend a helping hand she does at times try to take on more than she should by herself. Asking for help is different than doing.

Focus

Chiyo henshins with the phrase APPRIVOISER (to tame) which ignites the Resh Mark on the center of her chest. It's always there, but only glows with power when she transforms. The secondary, more power intensive, henshin is APPRIVOISE (I tame you!) which provides her with phantom robot armor shaped like her cybody, Reshbal.

Style

The Star Drivers get shiny military-eque uniforms when they initially henshin. This is actually adaptable per user, but Chiyo models her look after the original three Star Drivers. The secondary henshin produces a phantom robot armor in the shape of her cybody.

Powers

Reshbal's first phase allows his Driver to see the Truth of a matter whether it be a situation or person. When the power is active her left eye will glow red as Reshbal 'sees' through it. While it is represented by her eye it's not necessarily linked to only things that she can physically see: It's a matter of truths being revealed to her psychically. (What is revealed will always be based on player consent, but could be a hidden identity, the truth about a lie, or connecting pieces of information previously shared into an overwhelming truth she had not consciously considered.) Such truth has in the past overwhelmed prior Drivers risking their sanity, and so Chiyo has requested that Reshbal only use this power when she asks, unless it is a matter of immediate life and death.

Star Sword Turquoise: The main melee weapon is technically a sword, but being a form of energy as well, it is malleable in it's form to fit the needs of the Driver weilding it. In Chiyo's case she's more familiar fighting with a hammer, so it's shape adapts to a war hammer. After henshining, it's drawn from her chest with the call, 'Star Swordo Turquoise!'

Resh Galactic Coma: An empowered blow with the hammer that both speeds up the impact, and leaves a dazzling tail of energy trailing behind the arc of the swing. This is bright enough it may temporarily inhbit vision or hide her next move.

Impact Crater Barrage: An attack where the hammer is thrown into the air. It shatters into multiple pieces of what appears to be konpeito that then rains down at a single or multiple targets at high velocity. After impact the energy is drawn back into her hand to reform into the hammer.

Resh Irregular Orbit: Throwing the hammer out toward a target. This is not necessarily done with the intent to hit at first as, like a boomerang, it circles back for a second attack.

Resh Armor Piles: Not a named attack but an attack that uses the Piles from the Reshbal armor. The coat-tails (piles) from Reshbal's armor are fired off to attack a single time per henshin. These could also be used to destroy an obstacle or target outside of a combatant.
