While other children had imaginary friends, Takashi's were somewhat more ''real'' - animate shadows looming up from the corners of his room, laughing maliciously along with young Takashi. He learned to hide these creatures from others - as his father warned him against revealing his hand, showing his gifts too early - but has been practicing his control over the shadowy Darkness within his soul ever since. Due to the machinations and exhortations of his father, Takashi believed that he truly contained the potential to become greater than everyone else, and that his gifts - his devious intelligence and innate connection to the awesome power of darkness - were the proof, and the means by which he would eventually claim all that his father had commanded him to dream of. Meanwhile, his father's heart too has turned bitter, cold, and distant - though his lessons still echo in Takashi's mind, his father has pushed him away, succumbing to the numbing effects of his lifelong exposure to the Darkness - Takashi chalks this up to weakness, or even his father's fear that Takashi will outstrip him. Somewhere deep down the distance his father has placed between them hurts him, but it is a cold burn - and Takashi wills it away, unwilling to come to terms with his own emotions.

Now, standing alone, Takashi is an agent working with Obsidian, ostensibly to continue his mother's research, but truly as a way to acquire more power for himself. He volunteers for missions to test his own abilities and those of his creations, and to acquire information about threats to what he considers to be his eventual ascendance - both current enemies and possible threats. He's also not above pressuring his father into allowing him greater access or resources; though this is not a card he can call in particularly often. While researching found artifacts, Takashi secreted away a set of highly advanced parts, and over the course of the year, has resurrected an Intelligent Device and repaired it with pieces from other Devices both Midchlidan and Belkan; creating what he calls a Composite Device. In order to override the default programming of the core device and force it to accept his changes, Takashi overwhelmed the device itself with negative energy, and now with the new name Axion, the Composite device is as corrupted as its Master, speaking alternately in a female Belkan voice and a male Midchildian voice, as the forced fusion of devices renders it somewhat natively unstable. Axion itself takes the non-combat form of three gemstone earrings on his ear, but when called becomes a metallic, midnight blue gauntlet that covers one or both of his hands, with the right hand having a massive black gem in the center, and two more gems leading down his wrist and arm.

Takashi Agera's Sheet

Background

Takashi's mother and father both worked for Obsidian before her untimely passing; his mother as a researcher and his father her supervisor, and illicit lover. Takashi's mother worked in the fledgling research arm that was toying with the power of Dark Energy, and could be considered Obsidian's equivalent to Marie Curie, such were her contributions to the group's understanding of Dark Energy before Father Obsidian's arrival, and perhaps part of the corruption of the company that occurred recently. This research was not without its pitfalls, and driven as she was to succeed (and slowly succumbing to the catastrophic mental changes) she continued working even through her pregnancy. The same Dark Energy which eventually drove her over the edge also coursed through Takashi in his development, and while at a low and constant dose, this energy would inevitably change Takashi's life much as it would his mother and father.

His mother eventually had a breakdown - her darkness-infused ego, never able to achieve the gains she felt possible, slowly shifted, and took on one of the other emotional aspects of the Dark energy - despair. Eventually the despair grew too heavy, and his mother took her own life - all this while Takashi was quite young. His father, also corrupted by his own exposure, and the despair of the loss of his lover, still held the love for his son - but as touched by Darkness as he was, this too was corrupted. Seeing the way in which pride had given way to despair caused the end of Takashi's mother, but also feeling the pain in his own heart each time he saw the young boy who reminded him of his lost love - and unable to bring Takashi into his current full family - he pushed Takashi away, and the boy entered an orphanage, never being taken into foster care or adopted. Yet also, Takashi's father would occasionally contact him, even spending time with him, and during these visits filling his head with ideas of his pride and superiority, given that since his mother fell to despair, his father felt the best defense for Takashi was to be filled with such pride... and the unsaid but suggested idea that when he achieved his goals, he'd no longer be on his own. And so Takashi heard stories of his mother's genius, his father's deviousness, and his head was filled, day after day, with the expectations of the greatness his father felt he should earn. To say this gave him a bad mindset is an understatement.

While other children had imaginary friends, Takashi's were somewhat more real - animate shadows looming up from the corners of his room, laughing maliciously along with young Takashi.

Currently, within Obsidian, he is working under Professor Tomoe on various projects relating to artificial, Dark lifeforms - an effort to extend the lifetime and usefulness of his shadow creations, the Shades. Takashi also has an intense interest in magical artifacts of any kind, and often volunteers first to seek them out.

Takashi Agera and 'Darien Shields', being roughly the same age, have collaborated on several projects and developed from a begrudging respect to a sort of alliance where the two will, unlike most members of Obsidian, try to not undermine each other and can generally trust one another, which means they've both seen each other's 'less of a jerk' sides.

Personality

Takashi feels, deep down, that he is superior to everyone and everything else. That said, his father impressed upon him the need to not show this, to not draw attention until he had achieved all his goals. Takashi therefore has found a very personable outer shell to show to people - but because of his internal opinions, relationships can become strained, especially between those who might otherwise be considered equals. Eventually people close to him begin to feel the internal coldness of his heart that he cannot hide. At the back of Takashi's mind in any interactions are the twin views of 'I am better than you' and 'what can I earn from you'. That being said, Takashi seems to be able to form attachments to people who are consistently useful to him, or who give him the due respect; he's especially fond of anyone who proves themselves useful as an employee or underling. To a lesser degree, he is also personable within Obsidian, trying to stay under the radar when it comes to pissing people off; which can almost be a full time job within Obsidian.

Takashi spends a great deal of his hobby time doing research - whether that be in the lab or in the field. Takashi specializes in the research and understanding of the power of Dark Energy, like his mother, and he champions it above all other ideas; especially since due to the nature of his birth he seems unable to be physically corrupted by handling it like normal humans. (mentally is another question entirely.) Outside of the lab, he is also a member of the science club - mundane science being less interesting but still a reasonable pastime. He also follows up carefully on any sightings of magical heroes or unique energy signatures. Takashi also spends a large amount of time experimenting with the shadows he can create; while temporary and unstable, they are a tangible creation of his own malevolent will and he is trying hard to give them a semblance of permanence. Whenever he can't find or create a better thing to do, he is in Obdisian's labs, toying with dark energy (entirely unshielded) and trying to better understand the source of his immense power.

Takashi wishes for power. He truly believes himself blessed by his ability to manipulate Dark energy, and he may be right to a degree, capable of feats of amazing finesse as much as brutality. All he hopes for is that he can achieve the goals he believes he rightfully deserves - superiority. Anytime anything else shows power, Takashi wants to acquire that power, either through theft or duplication. Most of his time and effort is spent towards this goal. He will aggressively pursue other devices, magical trinkets, seek combat with magical beings to gauge and duplicate their power, and capture or eliminate threats to his superiority. The dream of being the most powerful, most dominant force in the universe is what drives him - his pride is both his greatest source of strength and the inevitable reason for his downfall. Takashi will often say that he's trying to control Dark Energy in order to defend everyone else from it - a 'know your enemy' mixed with 'fight fire with fire' approach - but it's not the only reason. He wants the power to defend everyone... so that he can use it to rule AND defend everyone.

Focus

Takashi's primary power source is Dark Energy - something he creates naturally to the point where he occasionally has to bleed it off in order to remain 'himself'. But he channels it through a Device, Axion. Takashi's device is neither Mid-Childan or Belkan, and has some of the bonuses, yet some of the problems, of both. His device is also twisted by the fact that it has been forced to handle channeling negative energy. Though it is approximately half Belkan parts, it cannot use cartridges; the magic stored within them is the wrong type to link up with Takashi's energy. ((I do have a plan to change this at a later time - probably coinciding with the Cartridge entry into the MUSH as a whole.))

Style

As a weapon, Axion allows Takashi greater creativity and control of his innate dark energy. This is usually blasts or pulses of dark energy, but can also take the form of controllable, coalesced balls of dark energy. Takashi also has the capacity to create short lived constructs of shadow, which he (creatively) calls Shades; these malevolent manifestations of raw dark energy act according to his will but are too momentary to be considered anything more than a unique attack type; Takashi is currently seeking to refine them. He can fight effectively at medium range, but not the long range of a Nanoha. Up close, he uses brawling, cutting strikes imbued with negative energy, but these are far less controlled than magical attacks, and are more 'burning off the energy while trying to hit something.' His melee performance is one area he is currently making much effort to improve in. What he lacks in control he makes up for in thunderous brutality of attacks, saturating the ground with negative energy, creating youma, and creative use of his powers to generate things like inky clones of himself to disrupt damage.

Powers

This is sometimes even noticable out of henshin, but in henshin, it's massively increased. It also allows him to heal at an increased rate. On the other hand, purification attacks damage him rather than purifying him, burning away at his form.

Otherwise, unless he's spending energy/focus on them, they tend to detonate or melt on the first major impact.

Device Magic: Riventon's Device allows him to channel his Dark Energy into similar spells to any other Devicer. His Device usually calls attacks in Belkan. His Device helps him to manage his Dark Energy levels, limiting him (in theory) from going too wild.
