(PHONE) Naru Osaka texts: I dont know if you still have this number, but I hope you're doing alright.

(PHONE) Jadeite texts: Same number, new phone. Abandoned the last one in a garbage can. I don't suppose you received the message I sent back then? It was directed at my entire contact list, so I'm sure some youma got it as well, but that's how it is.

(PHONE) Naru Osaka texts: It's been a while since I heard from you. I'm glad that you still have the same number.

(PHONE) Naru Osaka texts: Wait.. do you mean the 'inconvenience' text? You know that you aren't an inconvenience, right? That one just seemed weird, and I didn't have time to prod you about it then. (Nor, at that point, did I really think you wanted to hear from me)

(PHONE) Jadeite texts: It was right before you all showed up at the Soryuu Shrine.

(PHONE) Naru Osaka texts: Yeah. We were a little busy at the time.

(PHONE) Jadeite texts: Well, I suppose I showed up there after you, so I've not idea when it arrived relative to that.

(PHONE) Jadeite texts: Also, hello, I am also Jadeite, terribly sorry about everything.

(PHONE) Naru Osaka texts: Hello, Jadeite. I am glad you are you again. I enjoyed chatting when you had moments of being you before.

(PHONE) Jadeite texts: Yes. I considered making some sort of joke about not quite being myself, but it sounded rather forced even to me, so I appreciate you cutting it off at the neck before it grew legs. No idea where this metaphor is going, but here we are.

(PHONE) Naru Osaka texts: Well, without legs, it's not wandering too far. While I still think of you as Jadeite, I assume that you also have another name you use. Still Jason, or something else?

(PHONE) Jadeite texts: Yes, still Jason. Nothing has changed there.

(PHONE) Jadeite texts: I still have bills to pay, and I still have a father willing and able to pay them. Changing my name might make that rather difficult.

(PHONE) Naru Osaka texts: Yeah, it really would. Are you still in school here?

(PHONE) Jadeite texts: Indeed. I hadn't been intending on coming back at the time, but I never unenrolled, and all my schoolwork is already caught up from before everything happened. I don't like leaving loose ends.

(PHONE) Jadeite texts: Like reading a book and never getting to read the epilogue, even if the story has essentially all been told.

(PHONE) Naru Osaka texts: The epilogue is where the interesting bits happen, often. When you're still invested, but want to look ahead.

(PHONE) Jadeite texts: Did you know, there are actually real people, here in reality, who will read the last chapter of a book first before deciding whether or not they will read the whole thing?

(PHONE) Naru Osaka texts: I hadn't intended to spend winter break getting ahead on school work, but I also didn't plan to spend it quite this quietly at home, but I also get to go back with my schoolwork all caught up.

(PHONE) Jadeite texts: Preparedness is next to Godliness. Forward planning is a virtue.

(PHONE) Naru Osaka texts: I am weirdly not THAT hung up on spoilers. I want to know how to get there as much as I want to know where we're going.

(PHONE) Naru Osaka texts: I am usually prepared, but this is ridiculous.

(PHONE) Jadeite texts: Have you spoken with Masato yet? Also, I am positive that Zoisite will be fine sharing numbers, but I will ask him first regardless.

(PHONE) Naru Osaka texts: Since the whole /thing/? Yes. Since his birthday? No. Zoisite doesn't know me very well at all.

(PHONE) Jadeite texts: Well, an excellent time to get to know each other then. And ah, I will prod him. He gave away or moved virtually everything he owned to the Dusk Zone, so he is probably on a spending spree trying to replace everything.

(PHONE) Jadeite texts: Our dorm rooms flooded, obnoxiously, so that is also a good reason to replace things.

(PHONE) Naru Osaka texts: It is. I knew Mamoru's had flooded. I didn't realize all of yours had flooded. (Nor did I wholly realize that Zoi or Neph were in the dorms? Are they?)

(PHONE) Jadeite texts: Zoisite has or had an apartment somewhere else. I don't know much about it, even if I knew where he was when he was there. Never visited. I assume he's in the same state if Mamoru is, but Masato kept a dorm room for appearances or as a back up in case anything happened to his magical Akumajou Dracula mansion.

(PHONE) Naru Osaka texts: <laugh> I did visit the Dracula mansion once. That's such a good name for it.

(PHONE) Jadeite texts: In Europe, we just call that game series 'Castlevania'.

(PHONE) Naru Osaka texts: Ha! I dont play a lot of video games, I watch Usagi play mostly.

(PHONE) Jadeite texts: I tend to view video games as a type of art. Though, what does 'art' even mean, really? It's just a craft. A thing made. So, basically anything can be a type of art.

(PHONE) Naru Osaka texts: They absolutely are a form of art. And I have all sorts of commentary and Opinions about what is art and what is craft and the artificial deliniations between them.. and yeah.

(PHONE) Jadeite texts: Well, now you have someone to comment and share opinions with.

(PHONE) Naru Osaka texts: That one is more of a rant best served over coffee. Although if I have to type it with my thumbs, it'd be a lot shorter. So good plan. ;)

(PHONE) Naru Osaka texts: I'm an artist. Who works a lot in what's considered by the fine art world to be the 'craft' world of textiles. I have Opinions.

(PHONE) Jadeite texts: And your friend probably doesn't yield much in the way of discourse on the subject.

(PHONE) Naru Osaka texts: I've honestly been too busy to do a lot of art until close to New Year's.

(PHONE) Jadeite texts: Either way. With all due respect to her, I never really took Usagi Tsukino for being very... Intellectually stimulating as a conversational partner.

(PHONE) Naru Osaka texts: I love her to pieces. She's also not my only friend. :)

(PHONE) Jadeite texts: So I hear.

(PHONE) Naru Osaka texts: I like people. I like talking to people.

(PHONE) Jadeite texts: I like books. I like reading books. And sometimes talking to people about reading books.

(PHONE) Jadeite texts: I jest, I like more than that.

(PHONE) Jadeite texts: But I never have to worry that a book is going to get angry at me. Yet I take more care not to damage them as a result. Strange, isn't it?

(PHONE) Naru Osaka texts: Not at all. You are careful and thoughtful. The book's spirit is grateful.

(PHONE) Jadeite texts: I wish I didn't know better than to say 'Inanimate objects don't have spirits'. But I do know better. Thank you so much, Himeko, for forcing this reality upon me.

(PHONE) Naru Osaka texts: I mean.. it's a stretch to say that a book would have kami, but for the context of a silly conversation, it's worth making the quip. You probably didn't exactly grow up with Shinto.

(PHONE) Jadeite texts: When something becoming old enough can turn it into a youkai, I am not taking any chances.

(PHONE) Naru Osaka texts: It's legit. So other than books.. what DO you like to do?

(PHONE) Jadeite texts: Most things of a scholarly pursuit. Culture, history, poetry, politics... Not economics, except in a historical context. Too much of that in the present. I also like to sing.

(PHONE) Naru Osaka texts: I like doing karoke, but I'm terrible at it. I expect you are actually good.

(PHONE) Jadeite texts: We all are. The four of us, I mean. As far as I can recall, at least.

(PHONE) Jadeite texts: Haven't really had much cause for singing until recently.

(PHONE) Naru Osaka texts: Aren't there five of you? Which one isn't good at singing? ;)

(PHONE) Jadeite texts: Technically there may be six of us eventually. But I meant among the Guardians. There were originally only us four, protecting Prince Endymion.

(PHONE) Naru Osaka texts: Ahh, yes. I was counting the four Guardians and the Prince to get to five.

(PHONE) Jadeite texts: Yes. Himeko may get that promotion she has wanted all this time to be number six. Pyrite, the fifth Guardian.

(PHONE) Naru Osaka texts: Maybe!

(PHONE) Naru Osaka texts: I don't know how that works, to become a new Guardian.

(PHONE) Jadeite texts: I don't remember, personally. There's still a lot of fog to clear out.

(PHONE) Naru Osaka texts: Oh I'm sure. I hope none of the surprises are too jarring.

(PHONE) Jadeite texts: None that I am eager to share. Too jarring at the moment.

(PHONE) Naru Osaka texts: If sharing would help, I am pretty chill about jarring.

(PHONE) Naru Osaka texts: But no pressure. I know you're likely to turn to one of the boys first, but the offer is there.

(PHONE) Jadeite texts: Oh, heavens no. I'd never hear the end of it from them.

(PHONE) Naru Osaka texts: I'm also pretty good at not sharing.

(PHONE) Jadeite texts: Perhaps when I've had more time to grapple with the matter myself. I have to check with someone about their own recollections.

(PHONE) Naru Osaka texts: Any time.

(PHONE) Naru Osaka texts: The fact that texting irritates my cranky shoulder is a tragedy beyond measure.

(PHONE) Jadeite texts: Get Sailor Moon to heal it for you.

(PHONE) Jadeite texts: Or Mamoru, I suppose. Does Sailor Moon even do healing?

(PHONE) Naru Osaka texts: It's not in need of purification.

(PHONE) Naru Osaka texts: Mamoru healed my rib. I didn't bother him about the shoulder, it's healing pretty well.

(PHONE) Jadeite texts: Inefficient of you. Might as well get both done. Your choice though.

(PHONE) Naru Osaka texts: I should have arranged to only get one healing session's worth of smacked up. Highly inefficient, I agree.

(PHONE) Jadeite texts: Well, we are at the school library if you want to get it taken care of.

(PHONE) Naru Osaka texts: Tempting, but it's healing well. Great colours though. And it gets tired still, but I'll bother him another time. Say hi for me.
