After Bow left Setsuna's office, Crystal Hope showed up on his shoulder in her hologram form. "Well, Bow." she started off softly. Then asked. "Are you alright?" Her voice was quiet, concerned, a hint at trying to be reassuring.
"Yeah, I'm fine." It was a partial truth. Bow was hurt. Sayaka came across as not trusting him - Setsuna, while her heart seemed to be in the right place, even questioned him and his abilities. "We worked on the control chip together. I made sure that you could not take control unless I specifically allowed it, right?"
"Yes, Bow." Crystal Hope offered in response. "We spent quite a few days making sure the technology was just right to avoid that scenario specifically. But, now you know. They don't trust you here. They don't think you are that good. We should ask Adora about the sword and go home."
"You heard what Adora said, Hope." Bow replied. "We may not even be from the same Etheria, her sword may not work the way we had thought it would. We may have done all this for nothing. I'm seperated from my home, my family... no, there has to be a way to make it work."
"Bow. Listen to me. We can still make it work. Don't listen to Sayaka or Setsuna or anyone else that doubts your abilities and skills. You were practically a general back home. You should have been, but because you..." Crystal Hope started, and then paused.
"You were about to say because I didn't have magic. What if they're right? What if I don't deserve it." Bow responded, his first thoughts of self-doubt creeping into his words. "All I'm doing is worrying those around me now, those that care about me."
"You mean those that don't know you. You've only been here a month. Maybe two. They're not Adora... even this Adora. Bow. They're not Glimmer." Crystal Hope reminded him. "That's why we were doing this. To return to Etheria, to find Glimmer. Your best friend."
Bow felt a pang of hurt for a moment as Crystal Hope's words stung. Had he ignored Glimmer? Had he gotten so wrapped up in this new world - in Sayaka - that he had forgotten his best friend? Images of them growing up together played in his mind - from the day they met, to the day she ignored him and went away. A sigh escaped his lips.
"Fine." Bow agreed finally, closing his eyes as he draws in a breath. "After prom, we'll redouble our efforts. There has to be some way to return to Etheria." he decided. "But first, we're going to look over the control chip again, and make sure that we have it optimized so that it's doing what you said you needed it to do."
Crystal Hope paused for a moment and then relented quietly. "Very well, Bow. I will go ahead and start running a diagnostic now, if you want. And Bow?" she asked quietly.
"Yeah, Hope?" Bow asked back, as he reached up to pinch the bridge of his nose.
"I'm sorry that they don't believe or trust you." Her voice turned, and offered gentle encouragement. "I do, though."
"Thanks, Hope." Bow said quietly. "I'm sorry, too."
