Limits
Limits and Closing Characters
You may have up to four (4) Canon Characters (CC)s, and may app as many Original Characters (OCs) as you think you can handle. You may app a new character if it has been at least 2 weeks (14 days) from the acceptance date of your last character of the same type (CC and OC). Please wait up to 7 days after submitting your application (or revisions) before asking Staff about the status.
When someone creates a player object for an unplayed Canon Character, or asks to take over for a previously played but OPEN Canon Character, the character is then CLOSED, and the applicant has one week to turn in their application for approval. If seven days elapse before an application is submitted, the character then becomes OPEN again. If you need more time, for whatever reason, please let staff know with a +request! (+request <title>=<reason you need more time>).
You may only play one character in a given origin at a time. Exceptions may be made on a case-by-case basis where the characters are guaranteed to have no major interaction problems. Ask Staff if you need such an exception.
A 'Canon Character' is generally defined as any character from an existing media, such as Sailor Moon, Tokyo Mew Mew, Pretty Cure, etc. Canon Characters must be active at least once a month but are expected to help facilitate RP within the game (Both in and out of their origin/series members) on a regular basis. While we do allow players to have up to 4 canon characters, if a player is clearly not keeping up with canon characters, staff may advise you and if this is not rectified, you may be asked to select a character to drop.
If you play a Canon Character wildly out of alignment with their application, Staff may choose to speak with you about it and ask for revision. This will not always be the case; we encourage you to get creative with your characters. However, the core concept of the character should remain intact. Finally, Canon Characters can be removed from your control at staff's discretion, if they feel discussion is not having the desired effect.
Staff may sometimes restrict certain character origins or types temporarily if there's a specific reason to do so, such as a specific outpour of a specific origin, or rush on villains or something similar!
Lastly, Active OC and CC Character Origins will be afforded a degree of 'niche protection' - that is to say, we will prevent other themes and types from duplicating the major thematic elements of such themes. as much as is feasible. If you have concerns about a potential origin, please contact App Staff.
