The Imaginary Plushie is REAL!
Date of Scene: 01 December 2025
Location: The Shed
Synopsis: Miho finds out that Miburo is not a figment of her imagination as Amy can see and hear him. Amy and Miho discuss how to use her magic more efficiently, after finding out that Dire Wolf Barricade uses a lot of magic from Miburo.
Cast of Characters: Miho Inada, Amanda Faust

Miho Inada has posed:
It's been a fairly uneventful trip to Kyoto before the girl returned back to the Academy. Miho decided that it would probably be a good idea to go to the Shed while everyone was doing other stuff, and practice on her own. It was a decent practice as she walks out of the Zone. "You are still too stiff when you fight on your own. You need to loosen up, or partner with other mahou.", a voice tells Miho.

"I know, I know. Just that I'm still scared of having to fight things on my own. Especially things that look more human...", she mutters. Miho sighs a bit as she looks around. The girl shakes her head a little bit. "God...People are going to think I'm crazy, having a conversation with myself.", she sighs...Save the voice is real...Standing behind her a ways, is a small ice blue wolf cub. A cub that Miho doesn't really seem to notice...

Amanda Faust has posed:
Amy is relaxing on the Shed's couch when Miho comes out, reading something on her phone. She startles a bit when she hears an unfamiliar voice, and sits up, looking over at Miho. She would run up and hug her but is a bit concerned about the unfamiliar voice.

"Uhhh... I hear it too..." She stands up and looks around and gets to an angle to see behind Miho. "Hello? Who are you?"

Miho Inada has posed:
Miho blinks as she sees Amy. Then there's what Amy said about hearing a voice. "Ummm, huh?", she asks. The girl takes a deep breath as she starts to look around. "You hear what?", she asks. The little blue wolf makes a small bow of its head towards Amy, as he starts to move towards the side a bit. He seems to give a wolf like sigh.

"She is talking about me. Hello Miss Faust. I see that you are well. I am Miburo. Miss Inada here has an issue that normally I would not address so directly, but she just had to go and use Dire Wolf Barricade...", the cub tells. "A magic that takes a lot of its user. A dangerous amount. Especially at her current level. Thus, I am taking a more direct hand in helping.", he proclaims.

Miho bites her lip. "Ummmm, I have a smart plushie? Maybe?"

Amanda Faust has posed:
Amy nods in return to the bow, "Nice to meet you, I'm Amanda Faust! Oh, but I guess you knew that already..."

Miho's words get a quirked eyebrow and some confusion, though. "Miho, I'm magical. There's no need to worry about suddenly having a talking animal friend unless he's pushing people to sell their souls or something."

She steps up to Miho and hugs her. "What's this about dire wolf barricade being dangerous? ...Err, I want to hear her own thoughts first, actually."

She steps back and looks at Miho with concern, her hands on the other girl's shoulders. "What's wrong?"

Miho Inada has posed:
Miho shakes her head a little bit. "Right, I for...wait, he is real?!", she asks. The girl turns around, and looks at Miburo, who yawns. "Umm, right, so I'm not crazy...", the mahou says. She shakes her head. "I've been hearing him for awhile, but really its just a whisper from a distance telling me about my magic.", she admits.

Miho shrugs her shoulders a little bit. "I don't know what he's talking about. I feel insanely drained after that one use, but the headaches are gone again.", she admits. The girl stretches out, before hugging Amy back. "I just wanted to find away to protect everyone. And it was a way to save you if you...you know...", she tells. The girl blushes a bit.

"Yes, and you called forth a magic waaay beyond your level. You have a hard time with Wolves of the Capital...", Miburo says with a sigh. He walks over to Amy, and sniffs her foot. "Have any meat on you? Miho rarely gets any meat, so I'm very hungry..."

Amanda Faust has posed:
Amy bursts out laughing -- partly in relief! -- when Miho indicates that what was concerning her was she thought the wolf was imaginary.

She listens, and nods, smiling at mention of Miho wanting to save her. Then looks between the two of them. "Wolves of the Capital? Is that the wolves in general, or a specific move they do? And uh... why do you not get good meat?"

She shakes her head to Miburo, crouching down and holding out a hand for him to sniff. "I don't carry meat on me, generally, sorry."

Miho Inada has posed:
Miburo shakes his head a little bit. "When was the last time you've seen her eat real meat? Its tofu or veggie. The hell is wrong with her?!", he grumbles. Miho just glares at the wolf a little bit. She takes a moment to think about how Amy asks about the wolves.

"Well, Wolves of the Capital are the normal wolves I use to defend and attack with.", she admits. The girl moves over to the couch to sit down. "I have ten beads, so can use ten of those wolves.", she tells. Miho looks at Miburo a bit.

Miburo sighs a bit. "Yes, and in general you can figure out how much magic you're using based on them. Dire Wolf Barricade, do you remember how big those wolves were?", Miburo asks. "And think about what Yukihime did to create them as well.", he points out. "Yukihime tires out when using 5 or 6 normal wolves...", he says. Miburo sniffs the hand, and looks at her a moment. "If you try to pat my head...", he comments.

Amanda Faust has posed:
Amy thinks about, has she ever seen Miho eat meat. "...Honestly, I wasn't really paying attention to whether she ate meat or not." She glances to Miho. "Do you not like it...?"

"Is there a way we can get you more beads?"

She nods at the explanation of tiredness. "So really -- her limit is more 5 or 6 and she's been going past it...?"

Amy pulls her hand back at nods to Miburo. "Not if you don't want me to. Although, is it really that unpleasant?"

Miho Inada has posed:
Miho blinks a little bit. "Well, these beads came from my father. Who got them from his father, and so on.", she says. The girl shakes her head a little bit. "Kinda like how my hair clip came from my mother's side of the family. I don't know how they worked their way down to me to be honest.", she tells. The girl shakes her head a bit. "Not so much that. Just that I kinda...followed an odd diet. A lot of meat has...wait, I'm a mahou. Diets don't really work on us, right?", she asks Amy.

Miburo looks at Amy a bit. "Do you like people rubbing your head?", he asks her. "And she summoned a blizzard without any snow around, and then created 10 wolves that were taller and bigger then her. Then you saw what she protected everyone from. Where did she get that much energy from?", Miburo asks Amy. "Hence why I decided that before she can do something...really bad, to be more active in helping her with her magic.", he states.

Amanda Faust has posed:
Amy shrugs. "We burn a lot of energy fighting things; for some of us, magic also burns calories. I'm not sure something weird isn't going on keeping my body the same... I haven't been, like, overly careful? But I haven't been pigging out, either. I doubt I could eat enough food to get fat despite combat, though. ...Like I guess maybe physically I could, but like... Iunno, like, if I didn't feel full and were hungry I'd be eating more, right...?"

Amy shakes her head. "Anyway, what about meat were you avoiding?"

As for Miburo... The expression on Amy's face is that of realizing she has been asked a question that the answer to is generally considered embarassing and also she has a terrible poker face and so can't really lie. "U-uh..."

Miburo follows up with something else, though. "Well... she got it from somewherer, and recovered it. But yeah, if she could have long-term effects overexerting herself, that'd be bad... we need to figure that out."

And she crosses her arms and looks away, cheeks a bit red. "...And also it sounds really nice actually but it's not really something people do as much as when interacting with animals."

Miho Inada has posed:
Miho coughs a little bit. "Well, meat as a lot of fat, and well fast food tends to be loaded with grease.", she says. The girl blushes a bit. "Remember how much I work out to keep my form?", she asks. "So I would diet quite a bit to keep my shape.", she explains a bit.

"She recovered it by resting, and eating. Its not a spell to be repeated a number of times. Or in a fight with a large number of opponents. Or an enemy could coax her into using it, and then blast her when she's defenseless.", he tells.

Miho shakes her head a little bit. "Anyways, I do like salad. I know it seems weird.", she tells. The girl stretches a little bit. "He can be a little snarky at times.", Miho says. Miburo nods his head.

"Yes, cause you need the snark. Anyways, yeah, I don't like getting my head rubbed. I do like it combed though.", he admits.

Amanda Faust has posed:
Amy nods. "Some fat is okay, but it's probably not good to have fast food be a majority of your diet. We actually have really good food at the cafeteria here though, take advantage of it!"

"Eh, I like salad sometimes too, albeit, with dressing on it that might make it no longer count as healthy... but I wouldn't choose it as an entre over much of anything else."

A little nod to Miburo. "I don't have a comb on me."

"So," Amy looks between them, "She can recharge between fights but needs to manage and pace her use of magic during a fight. Well.... finding effective techniques you can do using less magic at once has helped me. How do you develop new techniques?"

Miho Inada has posed:
Miburo shakes his head. "She don't. At least not very well. She barely understands how to use her current magic. I've been whispering to her how to use her magics. Like pre-loading her wolves, so she can call them to do what she needs right away. Versus how she would call them out as she needed them, wasting time.", he tells.

Miho kinda blushes a little bit. "I tend to focus on waiting for that right moment, and unleash my magic in that one moment.", she tells. The girl blushes a bit.

Amanda Faust has posed:
"'Pre-loading wolves.'" Amy mouths the unusual phrase. She listens to Miho. "Mmm. So... I guess it's kinda like martial arts? You've drilled in how to do the moves, and what situations they apply to, so that during a match -- or a real fight -- you can decide what to do on the fly, right? I guess similar practice with magic... but, you've probably been |doing| that already, hmm... Maybe you just need more not-blow-all-your-magic-at-once-options?" She looks thoughtful

Miho Inada has posed:
Miho nods her head a bit. "More like muscle memory more then thinking.", she admits. "Well, that means going out, and getting more into fights. I mean, training only goes so far. But a lot of stuff, I'm learning on the move.", she admits. Miho blushes a bit. "The big stuff takes a long time for me to practice, and get right.", the girl admits. She blushes a bit.

Amanda Faust has posed:
Amy nods. "Well, part of it's muscle memory, but if you rely completely on reflexes, your opponent can figure out your patterns and bait you into making a bad move." She lifts her hands and shakes her head, "And I'm guilty of it too, I'm fighting on reflex a lot of the time and have been lucky not to have a youma or dark general figure it out. Although, it helps that I figured out how to redirect myself in mid-air. Early on, getting me to rocket jump away from an attack and then blasting me in the air while I'm on a predictable arc, they coulda really got me."

She takes a breath. "Again, though. When I was frustrated with how much magic it took to throw, I guess, uh, a 'finisher' you might call it? I started figuring out attacks I could do that used a fraction as much magic but were still more than the basic attacks."

"And uh. Also figured out how to shoot non-explosive rockets for when I needed to minimize collateral damage."

Miho Inada has posed:
Miho nods her head a bit. "I could summon up a bit of snow to hide myself, and use arrows.", she thinks. The girl yawns though. Miburo looks at her. "You need to sleep a bit more. Staying up at night is catching up.", he tells. The wolf yawns a bit himself.

"Yeah, I think some sleep would be good. Sorry, Amy.", she says. Miho hugs Amy, and gives her a light kiss. "Yeah, maybe later we can go over some ideas. Most of my stuff is meant to support somebody who does the major part of the fighting, versus me fighting directly.", she tells.

Amanda Faust has posed:
Amy smiles, "Yeah, see, that's a start!" Seeing how tired Miho is, though, she goes in for a hug at the same time, and returns a kiss to the other girl's cheek.

"I guess I haven't thought so much in terms of support moves, but the same principles probably apply. Barriering people with a controlled amount of magic to counter the attack coming at them, too..."
