Is this weird? He feels weird. This is a girls-only dorm building, he got in here by teleporting, and he's also standing outside the room of a ten-year old girl who happens to be his best friend's little sister. Jadeite, First of the Four, a Dark General, is bothered by a lot of things. Worrying someone is going to judge him for being near a child's bedroom isn't something he's used to being bothered by. He can just use his telepathy to erase memories and provide cover stories if he needs to, but it still feels like he's somewhere he shouldn't be.
So, in order to not linger here longer than necessary, and with a Glamour of Jason Dite overlaying his Shitennou uniform, he raises a hand to knock on Himeko Soryuu's door.
He never finishes because he reels back like he's just been punched in the face. He staggers to try to regain his balance, but there's sparks in his vision and his brain has apparently decided to start flipping through his memories like he's reading a book about his own life, and... This... Where did this part come from?
What is Silver Millennium? Who is that boy studying to be a scholar? Why is he becoming a Guardian, when his older brother was supposed to be the one...?
Oh. Oh, no. That's him. That's him before he was Jadeite. When his name was... Was... What was it again? It's moving by too fast. He's remembering too much. This can't be his life flashing before his eyes, can it? Not when he's already died once before. He sees Prince Endymion and Princess Serenity, he sees his comrades hanging back, while the Princess's escorts similarly stand at a distance but quickly enough for their magically enhanced bodies to act if danger comes for them.
They've interacted before. This isn't the first meeting between the Prince and Princess despite how incredibly risky it is, and the high likelihood of being caught. But they came anyway, and Jadeite and the Senshi of Mars pretend not to be looking at each other while definitely looking at each other. Romance is in the air for more than just just the royals, and after they sang a duet together, Jadeite is looking for a chance to get Mars alone to talk. He always enjoys speaking with her. She's smart, well-educated, has many tales of her people and the culture of Mars that dazzle a would-be scholar like him.
And there's the dazzling beauty as well.
But right now, he is guarding his prince. And nothing will ever change--
KILL THEM. KILL THEM. KILL THEM. FOR QUEEN METALLIA!
The drums of hate pound inside of his brain as he attacks the Lunar Palace on the Moon alongside other soldiers of Beryl, driving out any thought or feeling of his own.
YES. CUT THEM DOWN. MAKE THEM SUFFER. FEED THEIR DESPAIR TO ME.
He can't see that his eyes are glowing red, but his vision is crimson as he cuts down Lunar guardsman after guardsman. Then he comes across Sailor Mars when he comes around a corner. They are both startled. Despite him holding a blood-dripping sword, splattered in red, she hesitates for a moment before she starts to raise her hands to attack.
Jadeite doesn't hesitate. He drives his blade through his former lover's chest, shredding her heart, and bringing the mighty Senshi to her knees. The Princess of Mars looks at the sword, stunned, like she can't quite believe this is happening to her. Then she looks up at him, with blood gushing from between those lips he knows to be warm and soft, soon to be cold forever more.
It feels amazing. He has never felt anything better than murdering in cold blood someone who trusted him. The shadow behind his eyes assures him it is so, and smothers any hint of mercy or regret or pain, no matter how much his soul screams. Just the way his soul shudders in agony makes him shiver with joy. He pulls his sword free of Mars's torso, and prepares to find more to kill, but then--
LIGHT. BURNING LIGHT. NO. I WILL NOT BE CONSTRAINED. I WILL NOT BE SEALED AWAY AGAIN. CURSE YOU, QUEEN SERENITY. I CURSE YOU TO LOSE EVERYTHING YOU LOVE, TO NEVER FIND PEACE, TO ALWAYS FIND A NEW ENEMY TO RISE AGAINST YOU, FOREVER AND EVER AND EVER, UNTIL THE DAY I COME FOR YOU AGAIN, AND--
He can't remember much after that. Just... Floating in a sea of darkness, until his rebirth.
And he didn't remember anything else until Hematite awoke his memories.
And then Queen Beryl did... Something... But he remembers now, doesn't he? He remembers... That... It's clear that he's... That they're all...
Jadeite dropped his illusion while he was suffering that... Whatever it was. His face is wet. At first he thinks it's with tears, but a gloved hand to his face and then moving it away reveals it's blood. It's leaking out of his nose and mouth like a faucet, and his regeneration is doing nothing about it.
He looks at Himeko Soryuu's door, and then snarls as he teleports away.
