Terrible Future on Fry-days
Date of Scene: 15 November 2024
Location: KFC - Karaage Fried Chicken
Synopsis: Sayaka, Miya and Amy are about to have lunch at the local KFC when Namakelder turns the cook coming off her turn into a Terribad.
Cast of Characters: Sayaka Miki, Miya Sakamoto, Amanda Faust

Sayaka Miki has posed:
"Be careful out there", the cook says as soon as the gofer places a stack of ordered food into the delivery attached to his motorbike. She turns back to the the kitchen and ignores the noises of the motor starting coming from the backdoor, sighing at the huge pile of orders that are still coming in now.

Even so, she has a smile coming in. Knowing the owner personally, with these many orders, there are good enough enough chances they are going to get a bonus, and in just 15 more minutes, her replacement should be coming in.

Out in the dining part of the KFC, Sayaka is almost at the top of the queue, Ula staying still as she can be in her bag while she waits for her turn. "There are a lot of people today", she comments to the other two girls with her, Miya and Amy. "That's lunchtime for you", she nods sagely. "So, Miya-san. It has been a long time since the pajama party. What have you been up to?"

Miya Sakamoto has posed:
"Oh, I've been busy," Miya says, a bit evasively. "You know, getting acquainted with... ah... the infrastructure of the neighborhood..."

Cut to a flashback -- camera shot from above, a battered Cure Spanner crouching on the tiles of a roof. Looks up, grimaces, jumps away. A massive punch made of flowing water SPLASHES where she was standing one moment before. Camera cut to a massive Water Golem having just smashed a portion of the roof, leaving a dripping caved-in hole before turning its malignant eyes on the high-visibility Mahou, who readies her magicall spanner.

"...fixing some water damage...", she continues, back in the present, avoiding eye contact. And then she laughs, scratching the back of her head. "The usual stuff, you know, I don't want to bore you with shop talk. What have /you two/ been up to?"

Amanda Faust has posed:
"There was a pajama party?!" Amy's face brightens with excitement. "...Oh right, Hannah's. We should have another one, it has been a long time!" She's made some more basic clothing purchases; a black hoodie over her T-shirt and a pair of black leggings worn under her red jersey-knit skirt add some protection from the cool fall weather.

She scratches her head. "What have I been up to?" The Walpurgisnacht fight and fighting over a donut truck pop into her mind. Uhhh. Does Sakamoto-san sparkle? Amy is losing track of people sometimes! "Reading manga, as usual. Usagi-chan reccomended Fruits Basket to me and I've finally started reading it. It's interesting! It's about, um... a girl with a really hard life staying positive, but that's a bad description, I'm not sure how to put it... There's also this family that temporarily turns into the animals of the chinese zodiac when they get hugged... um... anyway I'm enjoying it so far."

Sayaka Miki has posed:
"Trying to improve my piano playing", Sayaka replies just as evasively. Even if she knew Miya was magic, she isn't quite sure if now would be the time to get into her having lost her powers powers, the encounter-clash with Hosshiwa, how she met Blue, and then the fight that led her to become a Pretty Cure. "I have made a breakthrough since then, I guess", she speaks with a small hint of a nervous smile.

"Yeah, that's the one, Amy-san!", Sayaka grins when Amy recalls the pajama party. "That was a fun time, I would be up to having another one!" Things had changed a lot since then, and it would be nice to have more relaxing group moments like those. Everytime one happens, it's because of some apocalyptic threat or another. Or birthdays. Those are nice.

"I love Fruits Basket", Sayaka shines. "I would be hard pressed to point at a favourite character. Well, it took me a while to change my mind on Kyo though. I didn't really like him", she laughs, peeking forward at how much of the queue is left.

In the kitchen, the cook smiles when she finally sees her replacement arrive. "Finally! My arms are almost dead over here. We are being swarmed with people." The man nods brusquely before putting on apron and gloves. "You go rest, I can take care of things now", he replies without a change to his austere expression.

"Well then, see you", she starts preparing to go outside, in a few minutes being out of the backdoor, only to stop at the sight of a man elegantly dressed in a green suit. "I bet you are happy of being rid of the stench of fried food, aren't you?" he addresses her.

The woman tenses, about to run back in the KFC. Whatever was going on here, it clearly wasn't good news. "Sadly, your afternoon isn't going to be that good", he scoffs amused.

"Let the future reflected in the mirror become terrible!", he exclaims with a wide, cruel smile, the woman getting enveloped in a coffin. "Come, come... Terribad!", he calls out, a green light exploding outwards and giving form to a Terribad in a cook uniform and a green scarf, holding a frying basket. "Terribad!", the Youma shouts, the feeling of dark energy clear for the mahous inside the KFC.

Miya Sakamoto has posed:
Miya looks shocked. And appalled. "No..." she exclaims, before the scream crescendos into a more desperate "NOOOOOOOOO!", as she ducks out of sight into one of the trashcans.

"Enji, I just de-henshined from fighting the water golem, like, just beflre coming here! Do you think the Shifting Spanner is ready for another go?" "...It's tight but... possible!", replies the voice of Miya's beaver mascot, "But should be about right!"

* * *

Meanwhile, in the Kingdom of Building.

A middle-aged tiny raccoon lady mascot in a maid outfit in a high-tech yet pastel-colored high-tech laundry room is ironing Cure Spanner's high visibility orange outfit. All of a sudden -- BWOOO-HOO! BWOO-HOO! -- Sirens blare! Flashers flash! Emergency, emergency!

"WHAT IN THE NAME OF MURPHY?!", exclaims the raccoon fairy, and starts ironing at a frantic, desperate pace. "KIDS THESE DAYS! DON'T THEY KNOW THAT CLEANING AND IRONING THINGS PROPERLY TAKES /TIME/!?"

"It's not working!", exclaims Miya, desperate. "Try again!", insists Enji.

The raccoon lady seems to be done. She picks up the outfit, rushes to an empty tailor's mannequin surrounded by strange magitech gems-on-bars, pointing at it. She and uncerimoniously stuffs the outfit on the mannequin, and as soon as she's done, the outfit starts glowing...

Subdued music and yellow/orange light seep out from within the container. The henshin sequence begins.

Back in the Kingdom of Building, the outfit shimmers into existence. It becomes a thing of sheer light, and when the light subsides, in its place, there's Miya's street clothes, featuring a trash-stained set of overalls.

The raccoon's eye twitches. "I... I have to wash and iron /that/ before the battle is over?

* * *

Back on Earth, Cure Spanner dashes out of the trashcan. "People come here to find nourishment, both for their body but most importantly their soul!" She points her heart-shaped Shifting Spanner at the cook Terribad. "How dare you disrupt this necessary and joyful gathering of souls with your nefariousness? Cease, or suffer the consequences of your malevolent persistence!"

Miya snaps her head sideways, and stagewhispers to Enji, "...I'm still doing Justice Speeches? Can you /please switch/ off the Justice Speech function?!"

Enji, holding an industrial-grade control box with buttons and toggle switches, the kind one expects to be used to control cranes or other heavy machinery, frowns. "No! It's part of regulations!"

Miya looks down and mumbles. "Oh, well. In that case... can't argue with regulations."

Amanda Faust has posed:
Amy quirks an eyebrow at the comment about Kyo. "Really? I kinda feel him. That bit of 'If someone liked you, what would you do?' 'ask them if they were crazy' really hit home, for how I felt at high school the first time around." Then she looks nervously at Miya. "Uh, I mean, at my old school back in America."

And then she looks towards the back rooms. "Are you kidding me?! Oh come on! Umm--" but Miya's already running, so she doesn't have to explain. Amy runs into the bathroom, and a Puella Magi walks out. And races out of and around the building.

Cure Spanner gets a friendly nod before she turns to the youma. "So, what's your deal? Someone hates their job as a cook? I don't suppose you can like. Realize that and go back to normal without us beating you up first?"

Amy sighs and shrugs. "No, I suppose not. It's not like you'll easily find another job in a capitalist economy, anyway. So, what's your deal? Do you throw exploding sandwiches?"

Sayaka Miki has posed:
"I get it, but he is kinda so...", Sayaka starts saying to Amy, when the telltale sign of dark energy reaches them. She would have questioned Miya running out in the direction of the trashcans if she hadn't felt what Miya had felt too. Time to change!

...

Yes, but probably in a better hidden location. "Ula, it's our turn!", the bluenette says once they are in a safer place on the left side of the building, letting her out of the bag and taking the Pretty Change Mirror out as well.

Reflecting Sayaka's smiling face, the mirror starts radiating yellow, green and blue light.

"Time to change!", it exclaims, opening to reveal Sayaka's face and releasing watery musical notes, surrounding the Precure. "The melody of justice that rises from the sea depths", Sayaka recites, the blue shape of an armored mermaid wearing a wide heart-shaped collar appearing in front of her before the figure dives into the bluenette and spreads bubbles all around her. "Cure Sharpsong!"

"Red! And... Are you new?", the transformed bluenette asks when she sees Cure Spanner. At a guess, she would consider her being a Precure, but she is different enough that she is not sure. Then again, that's the problem with Precures in general, isn't it? Each group has their own style. She is likely not one of Blue's Precures at least. "Bamakelder!", she glares at the dark general. "Cut this out, right now!"

"It's Namakelder, my girl. You all need to stop being so dramatic", Namakelder smirks at the group. "Relax and take it easy. Everyone is still probably having fun inside. I would say you raise a good point, though, Precure", he looks at Spanner in particular.

"We really should change that. Terribad, time to spread some beautiful mold", he orders to his youma, who then starts swinging his arms, and mold starts magically appearing everywhere, even inside the restaurant.

"Then again you magical girls multiply just like my wonderful mold", the green-haired man observes. He is so thin and green that comparing him to a grasshopper wouldn't be out of place, even more so with those antennae-like things getting out from his hat. "Appealing to a Terribad is useless, but I can grant you your wish somehow. Care for some explosive chicken?", he mockingly tells Red.

The youma immediately follows suit, making three fried chicken breasts appear in the frying basket, tossing them at Red. They are in fact going to explode if they hit. The Terribad doesn't waste its momentum, rapidly following suit with tossing fried chicken drumsticks this time, these ones coated in spicy burning sauce. Right after, 4 chicken wings are tossed at Sayaka, each one of them pointy.

Amanda Faust has posed:
Bamakelder? Oh, there's the Dark General. ...Do they call them Dark Generals in real life? She should ask her allies that. "Dramatic?!" Amy echoes. "We are literally magical girls, and you're a dark general -- if that's the right term?" She glances uncertainly at the others, -- "unleashing a giant monster on the city! I think this is a drama-appropriate siotuation! It kind of comes with the job description for all of us!"

"Did you just say mold? ...Eww."

When he compares them to mold, though, she verbally bites back: "Nah, once you get to know us we grow on you! Like a moss." She smirks.

And then her expression changes as exploding drumsticks are lobbed her way and she dodges right into a wall and gets caught in the splash damage. "Ugh... so that's what it's like..." Her cloak blackened and scorched, after checking behind her, she turns towards the terribad, launcher appearing on her shoulder and firing a couple of rounds from it. "Well if you want an explosive match, you've got one!"

And then Amy realizes the implications. "Hey, uh... I don't suppose either of you can project a barrier...?"

Miya Sakamoto has posed:
I haven't been around much," Cure Spanner mutters to Sayaka. "The care within a house, the warmth within a home! Cure Spanner!", she introduces herself. "It's a bit of a mouthful, so just 'Cure Spanner' is fine. Pleased to meet you!"

"It depends...", Miya comments to Amy, tilting a head. "Personal relationships built over a lifetime are paramount here. I'm sure that asking around among friends and family members, to see if they know a friend who knows someone who has a restaurant-"

Enji notices the incoming drumsticks. "CURE SPANNER! BREAK IS OVER!", he exclaims, and SLAMS his tiny paw on one of the controls, one of those stout joystick handles waterproofed with folded rubber. A startled Cure Spanner is yanked into unwittingly leaping sideways, towards the incoming projectiles. It takes her a second to regain her bearings, but when she does, she swings her spanner, and manages to hit at least one away from Sayaka.

On the other hand, BOOM.

Cure Spanner slams against the wall, leaving a vertical circular crater there, before falling face-first onto the ground.

She pushes herself to stand, and twitching, she notices the corrupting substance. "Mold...", she says. And checks if she's got any of it on her.

* * *

Elsewhere, a raccon fairy maid is busy rubbing a set of overalls on a washboard immersed in soapy water. All of a sudden, her fur tingles electrically, a wave passing through it, making it stand on end and lower once again once it passed. "...I have a very bad feeling..."

* * *

"Mold..." Enji says, as well, to which Cure Spanner replies, "I got just the thing!", and taps her pouch.

Her spanner shimmers, and when the light subsides, it's turned into a bucket full of some liquid, with a set of sponges tied by a string dangling from its side. She grabs one sponge, and dunks it into the bucket. "We are not like mold! We do not pop up preferably around thermal bridges, we do not go away if you splash us with dish soap, and most important of all, we do not spontaneously cluster on bread after the expiration date!" A short pause. "Only before. Teenage metabolism." Stomach growl. "...and now you've reminded me that I haven't had lunch yet, and I am MAD!"

She hurls the sponge soaked in mold remover at the Terribad.

To Amy, she replies, "A barrier? Not that I'm aware of! I only have personal protective equipment, but if you can think of a construction or maintenance tool that can be abused as a barrier, I'm all ears!"

Sayaka Miki has posed:
The blue Precure gets reached by the chicken wings, grimacing as she feels one of them strike her, only having managed to dodge 2 of 4. Thankfully, Spanner bats one away from her, so she has just the one to take out from her arm.

The wound heals rapidly once that one is removed, rapidly tossed it to the side. "Yeah, the future is terrible for sure, your youma is a terrible cook!" Sayaka shouts, starting to attack the Terribad with alternating punches and sword strikes, that the creature blocks the impact of, punches meeting arm and sword meeting frying basket.

Jumping back with a glare at the Terribad, Sharpsong gives a wave at Miya. "Nice to meet you too, Spanner! That's a really comforting moniker you have. I am the melody of justice that rises from the sea depths, Cure Sharpsong", she announces again.

"I'd rather you grew somehere else, red girl. We have a beautiful open space with many of your kind. We have prepared it just for you. Wouldn't you like it more there?" Namakelder smiles, just laying back against a wall, just watching them fight lazily.

"The one I had was lost together with my previous powers", Sharpsong replies to Amy, frowning while considering that would have in fact come useful here. Well, as convenient as having a Labyrinth was, it still beats not being under Kyubey.

"Spanner has a point, Namakelder, we were about to have lunch!", Sharpsong yells in support of the other Precure. "Nobody asked you to intervene, Precure, and... what kind of magical warrior are you again?" he squints his eyes at Red. Doesn't look like Amy has some significant overlap with those he knows.

The sponge Spanner has tossed at the Layabout meanwhile hits it with force straight in the face, making it stagger sideways. "Ugh, Terribad, get rid of that ugly thing before Spanner decides to clean up my beautiful mold. The world is so much better like this."

Putting the sponge in the basket, the Terribad swings and tosses it somewhere in the distance, then heads towards the orange Precure and swings the basket down while a crowd of Kindabads swarm around Sharpsong and Red to stop them from intervening.

Amanda Faust has posed:
"Damn, you still heal like crazy, huh?" Amy observes. "If I can switch magic types and keep the advantages of this body, that--" She whips the launcher into position to shoot at the youma's head when its arms are occupied blocking Sayaka's strikes. "--changes things."

Namakelder says they have 'many of her kind' somewhere and Amy Faust laughs, loudly, almost a cackle. She's about to retort when she realizes he means the place Phantom sent people to and frowns. "No. I got a life to live, or at least, as much of one as I get, and manga to read. I can't do that in a coffin. There'll be plenty of time to try the coffin thing when I'm dead."

Namakelder asks what kind of magical girl she is, and Amy replies flippantly: "None of your beeswax!" Ordinarily, she'd give the whole speech about being a magical Terminator that hunts Witches, but it doesn't fit the mood of the moment.

Magical Rocket Girl Red goes to line up a shot on the Terribad as it deals with the sponge, but then she's getting swarmed by kindabads. "Oh, you wanna go, huh?" She dismisses her weapon to punch one out, stun another with an elbow to the gut and then kick it and send it flying into the others. She only knows the very basics of martial arts, but that and mahou strength is plenty for kindabads.

"Just kidding!" Amy suddenly is holding her launcher again, aiming it down and rocket jumping, catching the kindabads around her in the blast as she's sent flying towards the Terribad's shoulders, planning... something. She'll come up with an attack to do before she lands, probably!

Miya Sakamoto has posed:
"I like that!", Cure Spanner exclaims to blue Cure. "We could have a team thing going. You could be 'The Sharpest Song in the Shed', and I could be-"

"The tool!", Enji cuts short. "Lunch break got cancelled, you're on the clock," he exclaims, tapping his wrist. "Right!", exclaims Cure Spanner, and dashes to retrieve the sponge.

"I don't know what you are preparing for an open space," she monologues at Namakelder, "but I don't like it and I'm not planning to go there any time soon if it looks like..." she gestures towards the mold. "...this!"

Her attention snaps to Amy. "Wait, coffin? What's that about coffins?"

Spanner's attempt at retrieving her sponge is interrupted! Terribad attacks! And Cure Spanner responds approriately, attempting a block of the basket with a countering kick, and follow suit with punches and more kicks. Those karate lessons might start to be paying off.

"She likes violence," she comments about what type of magical girl Amy is while doing all this. "I'm willing to make her a honorary PreCure if she isn't one already."

"Spanner," Enji cuts in, "you're at the bottom of the hierarchy here. You don't get to bestow titles"

"Look, just because I'm at the lower rung of this outfit, of this frilly fluffy outfit, I still get to make my own head canon!"

"...please don't," Enji adds, and shudders.

Sayaka Miki has posed:
"I can't block out the pain anymore, but I still have my healing", Sayaka nods to Amy, letting the sword fade and punching her way through the Kindabads instead, all of them flying left and right. Anyway, blocking out the pain was as useful as it was problematic in a way. In the end, much better to stay on the alert. "We can work together!", Sayaka exclaims to Miya. "And if I get to, I can introduce you to other allies!"

Reading a manga... "You should have stayed home doing that, girl with the red temper", Namakelder reproaches Amy. "Just look at me, I do nothing myself, and can be as lazy as I want and watch the mold grow thanks to the Terribad. Wouldn't you agree that's much better?"

"Clock or not, we are definitely having it later, not like you would understand that I was having lunch with friends", Sharpsong shakes her head, making her sword reappear in her hand. But she will get back to Miya with Amy later. Now she has the latter and Spanner to fight with. "Are you ok, Spanner?"

Sayaka tilts her head at the orange Precure's affirmation, stopping in her tracks. Do Precures... like violence? Mio didn't seem like that, and Blue was quite gentle, if unmoving on some aspect of their tasks. And well, she has always cared about doing the right thing, even if she discovered that was nuanced at times.

Meanwhile, after both blocking Sayaka's hit-and-slash sequence, doing the same with Miya leaves it a tired mess that can just raise a half-hearted punch towards Amy. "Terribad!", it shouts angrily, watching the Puella Magi descend.

Amanda Faust has posed:
"Lunch break is cancelled? Isn't that against union rules?!" Amy objects.

Incoming fist! Uhhhh... Amy fires a shell down and immediately airbursts it to knock herself over the fist and land on the arm, running up it while throwing sticky grenades down at the terribad's arm and then shoulder.

"It's not that I love violence but my powers are explosions and rockets what else am I gonna do?!" She does blush at the offer of Honorary Pretty Cure, though. "Would I have to obey the don't fall in love rule? I'd conjure you a head cannon but I'm worried about breaking your neck."

She slaps a plastic explosive on the Terribad's neck and then dives off just before the explosives all go off at once behind her -- at the same time as the Cures' finishers hit, no doubt!

Amy lands, hair and cloak billowing dramatically before she turns to Namakelder and points. "Dude, can't you even keep track of your own schticks? Exulting laziness is the Witch of Delays and her Layabouts; or are you doing like, a villain exchange program?"

She holds a hand up to her mouth and asides to Spanner, "I'll explain about the coffins and what I am later."

Miya Sakamoto has posed:
"DANG STRAIGHT IT IS!", Enji and Spanner exclaim at once, in response to Amy's comment about abolishing lunch break being against union rules, burning annoynce at being denied lunch manifest.

"I'm being facetious about violence," Miya jokes as she ducks and dodges an attack.

"Wait, we have a don't fall in love rule?!" A startled Cure Spanner turns to her mascot. "WE HAVE SUCH A RULE?!" "No, it's against union rules!", Enji states.

Spanners takes a flying leap back, spinning in the air, and performs a three-point landing. "You. Don't. Mess. With. LUNCH.", she growls, and looking between Amy and Sharpsong, she continues, "Especially lunch with FRIENDS!"

Her massive drill hair starts spinning, and she dashes towards the Terribad. "BY THE POWER OF FRIENDSHIP (and a little bit of lunch as well), YOU SHALL BE VANQUISHED!", she exclaims, leaps high into the air, and plunges down, both the hair-drills spinning, ready to deliver coiffed justice.

Sayaka Miki has posed:
"I think that's only something Blue asks", Sharpsong replies to Amy. "So, it depends?", she shrugs. "There are many Pretty Cures, and if you become one from the same group as Spanner, you probably wouldn't have to. Even if you would have to deal with a rude squirrel, I guess", she tilts towards Enji.

"I will excuse you, my girl, because I was here first. The Witch of Delays wanting to create a perfectly lazy paradise holds some appeal, but my loyalty goes to the Phantom Empire and Queen Mirage, so your, what was it, 'villain exchange program' idea is quite out of place", Namakelder replies with an aura of satisfaction.

"Good, because you can disappear with your beloved Empire as we will save everyone!", Sharpsong interjects, giving him a promise. "For now, it's your Terribad's turn! Symphony of Justice, turn into sacred power!", she says, raising her right arm and with the left spinning the dial on her wrist. ""Love PreBrace!" At the callout, 10 train wheels made of water spawn into existence floating in the air.

"Pretty Cure Rondo con Toccata! Justice, return to the Heavens!" Cure Sharpsong says, all the wheels converging unto the Terribad at the same time, lingering in a circle of them dancing around the Terribad after the hits and purifying it, just as the explosives hurt it considerably and leave it open for Spanner Drill Hair of Friendship to knock it down.

"So relaaaxing", it finally says when the purification finishes taking effect, the coffin mirror dissolving together with the Terribad, freeing the man and his falcon from the prison of misfortune. "Such a shame, really, we shall see each other again!", he frowns before teleporting away.

"Congratulations, everyone!", Ula smiles at them when the feeling of having to sneeze magic fills her for the second time. "Sharpsong, it's the cards. It's like I feel the power of... spectacles, I think. Anyway, rub my nose, please!" The blue Precure does just that, freeing the magic and making Ula sneeze loudly. The satchel at her side releases two PreCards. "Uh, I got an Idol card, and a police one", Sayaka says while looking at the cards.

Amanda Faust has posed:
Falling in love is OK if you're a Hardworkin' Pretty Cure, but you'd have to deal with a rude squirrel. Amy crosses her forearms in front of her in an 'X' gesture. "Nuh-uh! Being a teenager again is a once-in-a-lifetime vacation! I'm not living by someone else's clock until I have to! No bosses, no masters, I don't need to work to live right now and I don't even wanna pretend!"

Her 'job' at the Pearl Pier Hotel is different, and that can be discussed later.

She ranted over Namakelder's speech, and then the wheels hit, the Terribad's gone.

The red Puella walks curiously over to Ula. "The explosive moldy cooking monster dropped police and idol cards? That makes no sense. Is it just random? What abilities do those give you, exactly?"

Amy turns also to Spanner. "Um. Look. If you wanna talk together after... well, we can have lunch, if you want. I always like meeting new coworkers." She frowns. "Bad wording. Fellow magical girls. ...You really think I'd be an honorary Pretty Cure, huh...?"

Sayaka Miki has posed:
Sayaka blinks as Amy breaks into a emphatic speech about what being an adult is like. She must have been really burned out in her previous life. Guess they don't talk much about '"that".

"I guess they are random", Sayaka hmms pensively looking at the cards. She has got no more clue than Amy at how the process goes, and she doesn't think Ula does either.

"I don't... know?", the tiny mermaid hesitates looking up at Amy. "When I felt the magic build up I had this feeling relating to a spectacle? Or a performance? Which I think is the Idol card, but the police card... I don't know, maybe appearing convincing?" She just looks at her bag, playing around with her jewels.

Miya Sakamoto has posed:
Cure Sharpsong offers an invitation to hang our more often! FRIENDSHIP PROTOCOLS ARE INITIATING! Cure Spanner is startled a little, still with the sense of surprise and wonder one would have if each fiendship she starts or advances was the first one ever. And then smiles, wide. "I'd love to see each other again!"

Amy's mention of being a teenager 'again' elicits a confused frown from Cure Spanner. And then her expression turns to one of understanding. "Oh, you mean you got a full-time job over the summer and now you're free to focus on teenage things like school, acne, and obsessing about how your peers perceive you!"

She rubs the top of her nose. At the question about whether Amy could be an honorary Pretty Cure, Cure Spanner exclaims, "Yes!", at exactly the same time her beaver mascot deadpans, "We're not hiring at the moment."

Cure Spanner looks down then up at Amy, and whispers to her, "Don't listen to him. He's a grump."

"One with excellent hearing," grumps Enji, arms crossed.

Cure Spanner also watches and listens attentively -- Cure Sharpsong got cards? "I'm also curious about what those cards... that could be one of the topics of discussion..." She turns to look at Amy, "...during that lunch?"

Yes, Amy's offer for MOAR FRIENDSHIP activated Spanner's pleased, wondrous surprise at friendship protocols engaging.

Sayaka Miki has posed:
Sayaka feels lightly awkward at Miya's conjecture. It feels slightly awkward to let the misunderstanding stand. What if that leads to an awkward moment later? Though, that's really not her place, hopefully nothing happens to Miya or Amy because of it.

Sayaka gives Enji a look before talking to Miya. "I don't think there is much more that we can say, probably. Ula has explained what she thinks they do, and randomly trying them on in public is not a good idea, right, Spanner?"

Sharpsong looks back to the inside of the KFC, wondering if Miya may have come back already. "I was having lunch with another friend before this fight, but you can count on me to have one with you! I will be sure to get into contact with you again!", she ways, running away from there.

"Bye, Spanner. And consider being nicer, Enji, I believe you can do it!", Ula says before following her Precure.
