Cast of Characters: Glimmer Brightmoon

Glimmer hugged the hotel’s stupid, cheap pillow to her chest as the tears flowed down her face. Stupid. STUPID! This was all her fault. And now Bow remembered everything. He said he did. Was this really her Bow, after all?

Did he remember how much he hated her? And she wasn’t kidnapped this time, no. Now she was in that big STUPID tower with STUPID HORDE PRIME and STUPID CATRA and they were all STUPID! She couldn’t even run back to him and apologize and give up on it because they had her MOTHER! She said it was all her fault, what else could she do?

And now there were STUPID MAGIC BUTTERFLIES TURNING THE BOY SHE LIKED EVIL! She glared over at the small, glowing butterfly in a jar. Apparently it belonged to some joker named Hawkmoth. Just another troublemaker. Just what she needed.

She snapped her fingers a few more times, but there were no sparkles. Nothing. What was she supposed to do? What COULD she do? Protecting her runestone was impossible without any power. Protecting her mother was impossible. She couldn’t depend on Riventon and Melog to keep it safe from Horde Prime for long…

But she had no power. Nothing. She was cut off from it.

But… there was still one option. One final option. Riventon had given her some advice. Bow had made her promise not to, but that was when she had the Moonstone. Now? She was compatible. She’d done magic before, how bad could it be?

She knew exactly how bad it could be. She’d done work with Shadow Weaver. But did she really have a choice? They’d failed to move the Moonstone, she was trapped.

… And if Bow hated her for this… well… If Bow hated this, then fine. That was HIS problem. He didn’t remember Horde Prime. He didn’t know what what coming. Catra wasn’t any help. Entrapta was useless. Scorpia was fine but didn’t really seem like she wanted to fight. Double Trouble would likely just make it worse. Don’t even get her started on Adora.

This was all her fault, anyway. So she owed it to them to solve it herself. She took a slow, deep breath before putting her hands together.

She was Queen Glimmer of Brightmoon. She’d have everything she wanted, and more. And if they wanted to get in her way they could figure it out by themselves. Until then? They could just stay out of her way. She pulled her hands apart and black, arcane runes forming between her hands. They were steady, uncertain. But they were there.

“I am Queen Glimmer of Brightmoon. Daughter of Angella, owner of the Moonstone, and Micah, the most gifted sorcerer our world has ever known. Magic in its entirety is my birthright and I have lost too many people, fought too hard and endured too much to lose anyone else to Horde Prime or any other stupid tyrant who thinks he can take my world from me.”

“I will not be a pawn. I will not be threatened. I will not let my friends be used. I will not lose those most precious to me. If Horde Prime will not learn to leave my world, my people, alone then I will make sure he is incapable of doing anything ever AGAIN!”

She drove her hands together once more before pulling them apart, the runes of Etheria taking hold once more. She had a lot to practice now, but she had a basis… Shadow Weaver, for all of her deceit and trickery, had been a decent teacher.

Black sparkles appeared in her hair, the magic slowly spreading out through her, replacing what she had lost.
