At the far end of Juuban Ward, where the homes are large and largely older, sprawls a newly built manor, a stunning example of classic Japanese architecture brought into the modern world. This sprawling three-story property was built over the course of a month for the sole purpose of housing the Shindou family heir and his guests. It's a good thing Tokyo has such robust public transportation, as it's only a short bus ride from the school (and an even shorter trip, if you're a mahou).

The entrance to the manner is blocked by a wrought-iron gate, secured with a simple lock that regularly goes unused - the magical inhabitants and guests to this property frequently find themselves simply passing over the fence. Leading to the front entrance is a long driveway, and graveled paths with stones which lead to the far side of the property, newly planted trees providing ample shade. Once one reaches the manor's front entrance, guests will find themselves welcomed by either Tiger Sugatame or Jaguar Yamasugata - or, on rare occasions, the master of the house, Sugata Shindou himself.

Inside the manor are a dozen bedrooms spread between the three floors, an expansive kitchen and a sprawling main living space. The furniture is tasteful and comfortable - the entire home exudes expense, and many would find it uncomfortable, if not for the comforting touches of life that give even this newly built home a sense of life. Colorful art pieces hang from the walls, and the main living room includes a large variety of video games, all the better for entertaining. At the far end of the ground floor is a kendo hall, where Sugata and Takuto maintain their skills. In this hall, shinai are lined on racks, ready for use. Light shines in from the many windows, giving the hall a light and airy feel, and the Shindou family crest is displayed on one wall.

Despite the splendor of the interior, it's the backyard that truly explains why this particular property was chosen for a new home: after all, it's rare to find an onsen in city limits, let alone one snagged for a private home. The natural hot spring has had stone steps cut into the rock, to make it easier to sit and enjoy the hot water. Easily large enough for a dozen people to enjoy the water at a time, rock formations separate the natural spring into one larger area, and one smaller; the smaller area hass been carefully built up with trees and shrubbery to provide privacy to anyone seeking to soak alone.

Aside from the onsen, there's another source of water on the propery - at the back of the property, down a stone-and-gravel path, is a large, man-made pool of ocean water, facing southward. Rather than featuring steps, the land has been shaped to slope into the water, allowing one to enter until the water would reach their waist. A torii gate has been erected at the pool, and at the center of the pool is a large stone, carved with the waw symbol.
