Location: | Dorms #1 |
Synopsis: | Chrono meets with Laura, Miho and Molly to go through some TSAB training exercises. Despite his expectations, they manage to impress him... into a crater. |
Cast of Characters: | Chrono Harlaown, Molly Skyline, Miho Inada, Laura La Mer |
- Chrono Harlaown has posed:
Chrono Harlaown was sitting on a stump, eating a few crackers with cheese and sliced meat on them, one leg resting over the other as he waited. People would likely be arriving soon and he had visited his mother earlier and... well...
She found out he was doing training. And then insisted he take some lunches with him. So those who attended today would get a nice little packed lunch. No, they had no choice in the matter because *he* hadn't. They weren't bad, just simple and... and it was kind of nice. Reminded him of home.
He wasn't henshined, though his card was close at hand. Fenix was in a nearby tree, lightly chewing on her own little packet of cheese and crackers. As a bird.
The regular training sessions were pretty simple. Those who wanted to come were always welcome, people could fight amongst themselves, if they had TSAB devices he'd help them with customization of their magic as well as designing new spells. Then basic tactics, group exercises, everything and anything a new soldier would need... which would be more useful if they were all soldiers, but well... close enough.
- Molly Skyline has posed:
Molly was late. Well, she wasn't actually, but she her self-confidence levels were telling her she was late, so now she's acting late; she's in henshin and is rushing across the treetops as fast as she can go. Which it turns out isn't slow at least.
Starcrash locates Chrono, and she adjusts course to zero in on his position; when she's a kilometer out she angles sharply downwards, and more or less just... rockets straight into the ground a little ways off from him, righting herself at the last moment and sending up a little burst of dust and debris as she lands. As the dust settles she stands up out of the little crater she was crouching in, and dusts off her barrier jacket.
"Hi!" she greets, flashing a grin at Chrono and walking brisquely towards him. "I totally thought I was late, but I guess I'm not, doesn't look like anything's happening yet. How're you?"
- Miho Inada has posed:
Miho was told about this from Rashmi when the two were talking over curry. That Miho should talk with Chrono, since her magic was ice based. And as a support type. The woman shows up wearing a pair of loose fight pants, an ice blue hoodie thats been pulled over her face. The top of the hoodie is designed so it looks like a wolf's head with the opening being the mouth. She's got on her Venom fight gloves on as well. Black MMA gloves with VENOM written on the knuckles, with a snake mouth where the N is to look like fangs. She's got a pair of headphones on as well.
The woman is carrying a duffle bag with her. Its got a protien shake, energy bars, and a box of candy bars. There's also some first aid supplies, mostly a cut man's supply kit. She's definitly the daughter of a MMA fighter. There's also a small miko charm in there as well.
The woman stretches out as she finally gets there. There's a look on her face. That ice princess shell is up, mostly cause she's ready to fight. Already riding that edge, like she's heading into a real fight.
- Laura La Mer has posed:
Laura wasn't in henshin yet. She had just heard about someone running a fight club, and she has decided to check things out, and she was a bit intrigued to test herself against everyone her. Always good to take the steps to remain in top shape.
This being in a random park in Tokyo, she is flying there through the Aqua Pot, being her fastest travel method. She is swimming inside with her fairy friend next to her while directing her bottlehouse to its destination, occasionally patting her.
"Alright, Kururun, pay good attention, ok? I am sure some good progress is going to come out of this?" the pinkette informs the equally pink fairy. Not to mention that a place like that was great for meeting new people too, not just her tasks.
Upon coming, she jumps out of the Aqua Pot and takes a human form midair, bowing politely towards Chrono and waving at Miho and Molly with a bright smile before introducing herself. "I am Laura Apollodoros Hyginus La Mer, nice to meet you."
- Chrono Harlaown has posed:
Chrono Harlaown popped in the last of his little snack in his mouth as the people were arriving. Hm. Three today. Fun. He got to his feet and pulled out his card, activating it. The magic enveloped him and, a moment later, he was the enforcer. "Now, most of you know me personally, some I'm sure we've only heard via hearsay or a distance. There's a lot of magic in these parts, so I'll start us off simple."
He held out his right hand and the TSAB ID flashed, showing his name and rank. "I am time space administrative bureau enforcer, Chrono Harlaown. The TSAB works across different planets and dimensions in order to keep disasters from occuring as well as to locate people with both the aptitude and skill to help protect dimensional space from disasters."
"These training exercises are akin to the exercises I went through when I was in basic training. They are to help ensure your success when in the line of duty as a protector of this world. I can't guarantee that everything you encounter here will prepare you for everything you will run into." His eyes wandered to Laura for a moment. And her aqua pot. He wasn't even going to say a word about THAT. "But the goal is to, hopefully, ensure that you are better prepared for the challenges you DO face. Additionally." He motioned towards the little brown bags. "There is some snacks afterwards, you're all encouraged to take one or more as you'd like. Heartily. Encouraged." Please. Please do. He didn't want to have to carry all those later. Or worse, tell his mom nobody wanted them.
"Now then," He held up his device and magic would wash over them, causing the sounds of the city to disappear... as only the five of them remained. "I have setup a barrier. Within this barrier, only magical people such as us exist."
He held out his left arm and the lidth jay flew down, landing on his arm. "Fenix will take the role of civilian for this training exercise." The bird jumped off his arm, landing on the ground... before growing and taking the form of a rather... tall woman with blue hair and red eyes. With a staff of her own.
"I will play the role of the aggressor. The scenario is as follows. I am a youma attempting to kill Fenix. Your role is simple."
"Stop me while minimizing damage to the local area."
"While I will hold back my blasts so as to not kill or maim anyone, my attacks will likely hurt. Do not worry about hurting me, either, if things go too far I have a plethora of defenses and will call for a hold. Fenix is also durable, so she'll be fine. However, if she takes a blow that she believes would kill a human? That will be a fail. Now, Fenix?"
Fenix gave a small nod before she ran off.
"As she gets into position, are there any questions?"
- Molly Skyline has posed:
Molly listens to the introduction Chrono makes; one might forgive her for being impatient with that part, but she isn't. She's not the only one here afterall. And then, there's the scenario given, one of protecting a civilian. She's about to open her mouth to say she totally understands, when there's that other bit.
The whole bit about minimizing damage to the surrounding area. She... she doesn't really do that whole... minimizing thing.
Molly can already imagine Starcrash complaining about that. What's he supposed to do? Not use all his available firepower? ...Well, that might just be the answer. Molly is still looking like she's got some kind of math problem, the likes of which would stump Steven Hawking, as Fenix runs off into the bushes.
% r "Err, uhm, hi," she says at last, looking to the rest of the people who'll be on her team. "I'm Molly Skyline, artillery mage, and uhm, I don't really do the 'minimize damage to the surrounding area' thing as a general rule. ...Sailor Pluto encouraged me to get good at grid square removal. ...Like, y'know, blowing up everything, so this'll be... good... practice."
Or, it'll be really embarassing in like two minutes, one or the other.
"So, uhm," she muses, looking back to Chrono, "You're gonna say 'go' when we're supposed to start, I guess?"
- Miho Inada has posed:
Miho takes a long moment to listen in. Thank god its not Circle of Death training. Gawd, those suck. The woman sucks in a deep breath before letting it out slowly. A blue fog comes out of her mouth. "Youkai Musume, Yukihime.", she says simply. Miho is encased in a block of ice before it shatters. Standing there is Yukihime, holding her naginata, and having her bow strapped to her back. While having a bow...she has no quiver. Laura knows why though. The air around Yukihime seems pretty cold.
Yukihime nods her head a little bit. She focuses her mind a little bit. The new Old Blood has been thinking about some of her spells, and uses. For now though, she's listening, and prepping a few things. The woman has a few lights that seem to float around her though. They seem to dance like snowflakes. Those who know though, know that they are spirits floating around Yukihime waiting to be called.
The woman takes a deep breath as she prepares mentally. She is watching Fenix a bit, and making plans in her head. The woman looks at Laura a moment. "We have previously worked with each other before. And we have experience with fighting in crowds. I had awakened during a Youma horde invasion at a music festival.", the woman says with a bow. "I am Yukihime. As my name implies, I use snow and ice, as well as Onmyoji spells. I also use a bow and naginata.", she tells. The woman makes a few motions...and one of the lights around her slams into whatever she drew in the air, and a snow bunny lands next to Molly. It wiggles its ears at her a little bit.
- Laura La Mer has posed:
Kururun follows Laura out of the Aqua Pot just after she has introduced herself, exclaiming an enthusiastic "Kururun!" in greeting. Laura meanwhile is listening to Chrono's explanation, taking note of the fact he can alter space to protect damage too. The exercise seems straightforward enough, even if that belies its potential complexity.
Before commenting on the setup itself, she addresses Chrono's more official introduction. "The Time Space Administrative Bu-re-au Enforcer? That doesn't sound like something you gain easily. How did you get to that position, and what brought a Bu-re-au Enforcer here?", she smirks with interest. "Since you revealing your title, I shall do the same. I am the Queen candidate to the Kingdom of Grand Ocean."
Bringing out her Mermaid Aqua Pact right after her statement, the compact gets opened once Laura inserts the Heart Swirl Ring, enriching her appearance with make-up and her clothes as Cure La Mer. Jumping upwards with a splash of waters, the mermaid Precure introduces herself. "The Shimmering Ocean! Cure La Mer!"
"I have already fought with Yukihime", she confirms Miho's declaration. "It will be my first time fighting with Starcrash's Mage. I didn't have a transformation yet when I met her. And I do have one question", she resumes speaking right after the transformation. "Are you asking us to come at you one by one or to work together for this task?"
- Chrono Harlaown has posed:
Chrono Harlaown gave a small nod. "Indeed. And I wouldn't worry, Molly. The point of this training session is to develope and hone your skills. If you do too much damage, or fail at the exercise, but have grown and developed your capabilities? Then it has been a success of sorts. Nobody is perfect. But there are going to be times where you will need to control your blasts, lest you do too much damage. Creativity will need to be your tool in those situations, both in how you use your own abilities, and those of your allies. There will likely be countless situations where you will find your own capabilities not suited to a task, and no chance to adjust the variables. In those situations your creative application of your own talents will be what spells the difference between victory and defeat."
Then he glanced towards Laura and nodded. "I passed all of the TSAB's training criteria, basic training and then spent years serving as a soldier before I was promoted to this position. And I am here because a TSAB ship crash landed on this planet and I am one of the survivors. Just because I no longer have access to the TSAB as a whole does not preclude me from my duty of keeping this planet safe."
He then turned around, before lifting his staff. Some light flickered off it, forming a ball of light which went up and formed a glowing 5.00. It then began to count down, 4.59, 4.58, 4.57, etc. "I'll be going off, now. The three of you are the ones responding to the challenge, so you have a few minutes to determine how you want to respond. You are free to work together, separately or however you feel is best. I'll see you soon." Then? He flew off. And the timer counted down...
- Miho Inada has posed:
Yukihime takes a deep breath. She makes a few more motions, and several more balls of light slam into the air in front of her. A couple more bunnies appear. The woman takes a moment to breath out a little bit more, before doing several more motions. And then several...ice crows appear. Yukihime can call crows now? Yukihime smiles a little bit, sending them off. The woman takes a deep breath. "For this, let me be your eyes then.", Yukihime says. "May I handle the scouting, as well as the defense while you two attack?", she offers. The woman makes a talisman, and breathes out a bit.
"If you allow me to, I can place these talismans on you, and it...should hopefully allow me to speak to you, as if we had walkies.", Yukihime offers. "I...do not have the power to strike down an opponent in a one on one fight, but I am very confident in my support and defense roles.", the woman tells. Yukihime offers a soft smile, while fingering her prayer beads. She has several ideas, but she wants to keep her trump card hidden at the moment. For now, the bunnies, and the crows start going off in other directions.
- Molly Skyline has posed:
Molly nods quickly to Chrono's advice, and a little of the tension goes out from her stance. "Yeah, okay, I shouldn't need to be told that," she agrees, and blushes softly. "But, that's classic Molly right there; spend all this time doubting my ability to be good enough, and then someone suggests that maybe I take it easy, and I doubt that too. ...Okay, this is just practice, it'll be fine."
She watches as Chrono takes off, and turns her attention back to her new teammates, as Yukihime is expressing her views. "Actually, that sounds great," she agrees. "Like I said, I'm an Artillery Mage, which... is exactly what it sounds like. Starcrash is almost entirely tuned for offense. I can make shields and stuff, but they're not super strong compared to other people's. My best defense is dodging, which won't really help here." She swings her staff around to rest it across her shoulders, behind her head. "I feel like my best role is to harry Chrono, and do my best to put him off chasing our civilian. And -- and yeah!! I'll take a Talisman! Communication is even better than firepower sometimes."
- Laura La Mer has posed:
Briefly humming with interest, there is a lot more the pinkette would love to ask Chrono about his situation, but now is clearly not the time, and they are expected to be focusing on their training. Laura's expression changes from puzzlement to a smirk as Chrono reveals the purpose of the countdown. She supposes that having a countdown to save someone wouldn't have been completely out of place, but getting a few minutes to coordinate? That's even better.
"Alright, as long as we play this right, this should be over with quickly. And we have all we need to do that", Laura states confidently, her face smirking at the huge advantages they have been given. She herself can't fly besides with the Aqua Pot, but that shouldn't be a problem between the jumps and the long-distance attacks.
"I think our best strategy here is to have two of us immediately focus on Chrono the last one while the ones takes care of getting the civilian", she comments, finding herself in agreement with Miho over their course of action as the ice girl states the same thing. "I also have the Aqua Pot to use over the course of the mission. If I can get to Fenix and send her in there, victory is basically ours", she makes a case for her strong points. "I will take a talisman no matter what we decide", she nods.
- Chrono Harlaown has posed:
Bit by bit, the girls would get there chance to plan and coordinate... until, finally, the timer went off. And then... 0.00.
"AHHHHHHHH!" Fenix's voice could be heard from... not too har away. The goal was to have them responding as if they were responding to a threat and whatnot. So there was the scream, time to respond to it!
When they got over to the sound, they'd find Chrono in the air... raining down small blue orbs of light at Fenix, who was hiding behind a tree. The tree likely wouldn't last much longer, but... the goal was to give the girls enough time TO arrive and save, and deal with an 'in-danger' situation.
The situation was clear, though. The civilian was behind a tree being attacked. Approaching her was difficult, with the assault of magical artillary raining down around her. He was in the open, but also in the air, so difficult to sneak up on.
- Miho Inada has posed:
Yukihime blinks a few times before pressing the talismans onto Molly and Laura. She takes off running. The problem with using shikigami is trying to run them remote or let them be indepenant with commands. "Just talk naturally, and we will all be able to hear each other. Hopefully Chrono won't be able break into the spell.", she tells. The woman focuses her mind a little bit to send the crows high, and tries to have them move with the clouds above.
"La Mer, lets hold off on using your Aqua Pot to put the civilan in. Cause if we put her in there, that makes you the target, and we have to defend you. And you have limited attack and defense options. Unless things have changed? But we can keep that in our back pocket. I think the best idea would be you using your water attacks to jab at Chrono, and then have Starcrash deliver concentratred heavy attacks. Just limit Chrono's movements with your attacks so that Starcrash can concentrate her firepower in a focused attack.", Yukihime states. Yukihime is thinking of this like if she's in a MMA fight, and trying to set up a knock out punch.
Then with crows spotting Chrono plus the screaming, Yukihime gives the direction, and the sitution. Yukihime gulps a little bit as she leans back. "I have a spell that I can use, but I'm going to need a second to set it. If its successful, you two can focus on attacking without any worry.", she says. "Can you give me...15 to 20 seconds?"
- Molly Skyline has posed:
Molly lets Yukihime run off; her job is to get a look at things before they come in, as they decided, afterall. That doesn't mean she's idle, as the translucent wings on her back carry her upwards, above the treeline. As she rises, a holographic display blinks in infront of her face. A couple of little blue tags with happy faces note Yukihime and Laura's positions (along with trajectories and velocities) and a little note at the bottom says 'SCANNING ACTIVE'.
"It's Star Devil, when I'm in Henshin," Molly answers. "My best friend thought of it. ...Starcrash is my device." She pauses, and then adds for her device's benefit, "Starcrash, classify Chrono as hostile for the duration of this exercise."
<< CONFIRMED >>
"I'm with Yukihime-San," she adds, "But Laura-San, I dunno how your Aqua Pot works, but let's definitely keep that ready, yeah? Sounds like a great trick that might turn this around if things go pear-shaped."
Then, Yukihime asks for twenty seconds; and well sure, she can do that. Chrono appears on her display a moment later, marked with red text and a little >:| face. "Starcrash, charge Eclipse Barrets; twenty barrets, delay start of tracking by ten seconds."
That should give Yukihime enough time, while Laura gets set up as well.
<< PARAMETERS SET. ARMED >>
The purplenette designates Chrono as the target before pointing her staff upwards. "Fire!" One after another, twenty orbs of freezing cold energy fly up and out over the battlefield; and as programmed they'll wait ten seconds, and then all snap a change of direction to come after Chrono.
- Laura La Mer has posed:
At Miho's statement Laura thinks that anyone revealing themselves as the civilian's protector is going to get focused on by Chrono, but she doesn't mind taking a more proactive role. "Fine by me, I will instead focus on not leaving Chrono able to do anything but retaliate against the two of us", she replies to the ice princess. "I do have a new attack, I used it at the caves", she reminds her.
"I can definitely show you after this exercise", the Pretty Cure tells with a smile to the Star Devil, skipping the curiosity on the apparently negative term the unnamed friend had chosen for Molly. Must be some sort of intimidation tactic. "It is also my actual home and un underwater space, but I will explain more later", the mermaid remarks, focusing on Chrono.
Their roles decided, Laura immediately jumps and leaps towards the source of the screams, rushing ahead in Fenix's defense, opposing Chrono while Yukihime takes care of bringing them their talisman for the mission.
"Perfume Shiny Ring - Bubble Form!" she declares as she inserts her pen under the Aqua Pact and the ring above it, the cover splitting open again. Grasping it by the now attached pen, Cure La Mer shouts "Aqua Charge!" and rotates the disk, a vortex of bubbles entering her Aqua Pact. The mermaid spins around, a trail of glowing pink energy following behind her.
"Pretty Cure Ocean Bubble Shower!" she shouts, pointing the Mermaid Aqua Pact at Chrono, the magical item briefly glowing yellow before it rapidly fires an uncontable torrent of bubbles, each one of them ready to counter the TSAB Enforcer's own artillery.
- Chrono Harlaown has posed:
Chrono Harlaown glanced over as his device warned him of an impending attack. He pulled his back, stopping the hailfire, and turning towards the orbs and...
Ice orbs. Interesting. IT seemed the girl was working on some disabling abilities of her own, not just attacking. That was--
And then his display warned him of '?????????'. Yeah, it had no idea how to characterize La Mer's bubbles. He turned to face the assault, holding up his device.
<<Stinger Ray!>>
Rapidfire shots of magic erupted from the end of his device, crashing against the bubbles and ice balls. For a few moments, the blasts are struck and they erupt together...
Before his little blue blasts are being pushed back. Huh. Interesting. Magic in this world was *so weird*.
The combined assault of rapidfire ice barrets and precure bubbles were pushing him back, until finally...
He dropped out of the sky entirely, making the attacks miss him, only for a bind to appear where he had been a moment ago, collecting and exploding the rest of the assaults, leaving a frozen ice shell in their wake.
Fenix, as the civilian, was now safe! For the moment. As her tree was almost broken, she took off, running in the opposite direction from Chrono, even though it took her further from the girls. Chrono was forced to glance towards her, then the girls.
<<Stinger Blade!>>
Five blue swords appeared around him, spinning in the air... before flying off. One magical blue energy sword at each of the three girls... and then two flying straight at the fleeing Fenix's back, one from the left and the right. Can they defend themselves AND the civilian at the same time, while launching a counterattack?
- Miho Inada has posed:
Yukihime knows that thats asking for a lot during combat. She focuses her mind quickly as she raises her left hand. "I call upon the Ancient Pact. Let the guardians of the Capital gather before me. Bare your fangs at the darkness, and protect the innocent! Wolves of the Capital...", she states. The prayer beads around her wrist seperate, and start to spin around her wrist. Yukihime points at Fenix, Star Devil, and Cure La Mer. Her voice goes cold. "Defend.", she growls.
The beads...they turn into blue spirit like wolves that run off at a high speed. Six of the ten wolves move to Fenix, while La Mer and Star Devil each get a wolf while Yukihime gets two wolves herself.. The wolves move to intercept the attack from Chrono. Two wolves place themselves between Fenix, and the swords. Star Devil and La Mer's wolves do the same as does one of Yukihime's. When the wolves take a hit, they turn back into beads that return to Yukihime's wrist.
This spell...its insanely draining on Yukihime. Its an active barrier defense...with ten shikigami. She's breathing very hard, and sweating badly. The bunnies come back out, dragging her duffle bag, though one is running with a candy bar in its teeth. The crows are circling above Chrono while watching Fenix. "G-good....w-work. Lets keep this up.", Yukihime hisses a bit. First time she's trying this particular spell. Yukihime chomps on a candy bar as she concentrates.
So for now, Fenix has 4 wolves left to defend her, and Yukihime has 1 wolf left. Hopefully Chrono doesn't notice her while Star Devil and Cure La Mer focus on him.
- Molly Skyline has posed:
Molly is just organizing herself a defense -- well, thinking about organizing it, given that there's a blue sword coming at her, which has registered with an alert and some red text on her display -- when it turns out Yukihime has that covered. She lets her wolf form a one-hit barrier, and totally doesn't flinch in the slightest when it absorbs Chrono's attack.
"Starcrash, assign Neutrino Dash to cast when I snap my fingers," she instructs.
<< AFFIRMATIVE >>
"Charge a Round Shield," she continues. "Deploy immediately when ready."
<< CHARGED. DEPLOYING SHIELD >>
A little ball of energy crackles into being around Molly before disappearing, as a basic shield takes the place of Yukhime's wolf. "Hey, Laura-San," she calls out, "That last thing you did was great! I think we need more of that, if you can get Chrono to stop I should have some attacks catching up with him in a moment. Let's see if he can hold off *this*."
Molly pauses for a second. "Starcrash, charge twenty Ecplise Barrets, homing and rapid-fire; also charge twenty Solar Barrets, also homing and rapid fire. Expend all Eclipse Barrets and then immediately expend all Solar Barrets when cast."
<< CHARGING >>
Molly takes off, climbing to a greater altitude and repositioning so she can get a better view of Chrono. She interacts with her holographic display with eye movements, glancing at a couple of menu options. "Designate primary target," she murmurs. "Lock."
<< ARMED >>
"Fire!!" Molly switches her grip on her staff, and unleashes a stream of barrets; first the freezing cold ones, followed by an equal number of superheated, glowing orbs. As she fires them the vents on her staff and barrier jacket glow purple, and wisps of steam rise off of them into the air.
- Laura La Mer has posed:
Laura frowns at the different blades Chrono throws out, even more so for the two directed to Fenix, as opposed to the singular blade that has been reserved for them. Had they offered Fenix protection with them immediately now they wouldn't have to spread themselves so thin. This is going to be trouble.
La Mer glances at Yukihime once she gets all those wolves involved setting out to block the blades from Chrono. She really doesn't look too good now. "Be careful!", she warns her with a worried frown, thinking she didn't have to consume so much strength all in one go, and instead let them take care of their own blades.
"It's Cure La Mer while I am like this", the Pretty Cure tells the Star Devil with an aura of contentment, more as a matter of precision than actually worrying about her identity. She worked hard to reach this point, and she is quite proud of it. "And thank you, you are doing well yourself. I do have an ace up my sleeve. Stay tuned for that!" she winks at the other mahou before focusing on their opponent.
With Chrono on the ground, she leaps out of the way and towards him, bringing the fight to the close quarters with a sequence of kicks and punches for the blue-haired mage. She doesn't intend to give him a second to breathe.
- Chrono Harlaown has posed:
And now there were wolves. O... kay then. Chrono wasn't entirely sure what to make of that, but it was a thing now. And it seemed it was pretty good at deflecting his attacks. Neat. He'd make a note of that. He supposed he'd need to--
LA MER! He brought up his rod, catching the other punch with it, and stepping back at the sheer force exerted. Okay, so she was a brawler, good to--
Oh crud she was a brawler and her magic backed it up. Chrono was fast and varied, but close combat was, admittedly, his weakness. He gripped his rod in both hands, struggling to keep up with the pretty cure's martial strikes as he tried to get in a moment to catch a spell. He just had to--
OH CRUD! And he had only a moment to realize this wasn't the end. One of La Mer's punches got through, striking him in the shoulder and making him leap back, trying to use the momentum to put some space between them.
Before Molly's assault rained down on him.
<<Subzero Burst!>>
As the assault rained down on him, his rod was brought up, catching the assault. Ice formed out from it, washing over the orbs and barretts trying to tenderize him. The ice rapidly spreading out, enveloping him from view...
Before erupting. Shards of magical ice would rain down on them, directed out from Chrono's position. One of his most powerful defensive and offensive spells.
And one he, admittedly, hadn't expected he'd have to ever use in *training*. What the HELL was this planet?
... Still, he was proud of these girls. He swore every time he fought someone new, he became more and more impressed with how they seemed to break every law of magic while also managing to just come up with new ways to ruin the day of anyone who gets in their way.
A bind would erupt under Laura's feet, magical ribbons attempting to hold her back, just for a moment, as he tried to break away and race after Fenix... But, honestly?
He doubted he'd get far. Fenix had quite a lead and the girls, conflicting as it was for him to say, were doing well.
- Miho Inada has posed:
Yukihime is sweating really bad, but she's able to use her wolves. Yukihime's remaining wolf protecting her takes the hit before flying back to her wrist. Fenix still has her 4 wolves. The bunnies are also dragging some of the snack packs with them. Yup, emergency supply bunnies...One of the bunnies brings over an energy bar, and stuffs it in Yukihime's mouth for her while she holds her left hand up. Hopefully Chrono has forgotten about the two crows flying in the air. The woman sucks in a deep breath, and then sends out a command to the crows. The birds spin around before diving down at Chrono from above. These birds are no real threat. They barely would likely register as even pings.
They move to dive bomb into Chrono, and if they manage to strike him from above and behind, they'll shatter while freezing on impact. Yukihime's trying to set up for La Mer and Star Devil by locking Chrono in place in the sky f or them. "MmmrmphmpphMRRRRPH!", Yukihime chimes in, using stuffed mouth language to call for an all out attack on Chrono! Hopefully they understood that.
Down at ground level, the bunnies are meanwhile....setting up a picnic area with everything before one seems to be putting on a little hat with a red cross on it. Hopefully this isn't needed...
- Molly Skyline has posed:
Well. Chrono did say not to hold back.
"Starcrash, charge Stellar Convergence." Rashmi did say Chrono was gonna like this one. Well, maybe he'd like it *more* if it was pointed at someone else, and that's really how Molly had planned on showing it to him, but that opportunity hasn't arisen yet. And this one has.
<< CHARGING >>
Molly's battle display gets a little progress bar, with a little frowny face beside it. The emoji gets slowly happier and happier as the progress bar fills up, of course.
"Cure La Mer, keep clear for a moment," she suggests, "I've got a big attack coming in, you should be clear to go in immediately after." The purplenette watches her progress bar; every time she does this, if fills up just a bit faster than the last time. Maybe eventually she'll get it down to just a second or two? Oh well, it's pretty close.
Molly scans for a better firing position, so she hopefully doesn't have to vaporize a tree or anything. Ahh, yes; over there, that angle is perfect, but she doesn't go for it just yet.
<< ARMED >>
Molly snaps her fingers; and for a brief moment she's a rapidly moving blur, coalescing again right where she wanted to be. She spins her staff around and levels it at her marked target. "Fire!"
A large ball of freezing cold energy expands at the end of her staff, and once it reaches full size it fires, manifesting a wide, freezing beam at Chrono, lasting several seconds and pushing Molly backwards as it fires, in spite of her wings working to stabilize her. As it fires, a series of searing hot orbs all blink-blink blink into the space around her, orbiting her like planets around the sun until there's ten of them; then they arrange around her, and as the cold beam is tapering off they fire, concentrating ten beams of incredible heat on the same spot.
As the heat beams die down, the vent cylinders on Starcrash open up; they and the vents on Molly's Barrier Jacket all hiss loudly, releasing billowing clouds of steam into the air around her.

"...Well darn I'm getting better at that. Last time I drained myself much worse."
- Laura La Mer has posed:
Laura is about to run after Chrono when she finds her legs caught in the bind, almost stumbling in that moment, those same binds at least preventing her from falling as a result of her momentum. Luckily for her, they weren't really that strong and her hands are enough to rip them off of her quickly.
Not quickly enough not to have allowed Chrono to put some distance between them admittedly, and she got to hand it to him, that was a well timed use of the spell. Even so, she did say she has an ace up her sleeve, and unluckily for him, said ace cares not for the distance he has currently managed to achieve. It did help with staying clear like Molly has asked, though.
"Let's finish this!", La Mer declares, bringing up her Mermaid Aqua Pact and stirring it with her pen the disk at the center of her Compact, causing water to appear and move in a pattern of recurve spinning lines as it concentrates inside the Mermaid Aqua Pact.
"Pretty Cure Swirling La Mer Stream!", she shouts, a huge rotating beam of water erupting out of the Pact as she points the pen at her target and reaching him with the surge of the sea. This will probably be fine. Henshins are quite durable after all.
- Chrono Harlaown has posed:
Chrono Harlaown was running and--
Birds. He caught sight of the birds diving at him and...
<<Stinger Snipe!>>
Two blue orbs would form around him, before launching up. He'd seen so much BS at this point that there was absolutely no way that he'd just ignore two dive bombing magic birds.
And it was that overly cautious nature of his that saved him. As they shattered with just enough distance for him to turn and form a midchildian shield from his hands. Ice formed over it, but at least it wasn't enough to--
WATER! Suddenly water sparkles were flying at him and he had to quickly reposition, the barrier held up towards the water flying at him. Okay, he was fine. It was going to be--
And then alarms blared as he was busy trying to shield himself from the water attack. COME ON, SERIOUSLY?! He didn't--
Oh. Wow. It was like another mini-Nanoha. Note to self, have that girl train with Nanoha, if for no other reasons than it would mean he got hit by this stuff less. He turned, pulling one hand off the first shield and forming a second midchildian barrier from his hand, Molly's assault crashing into that one--
Chrono disappeared under the combined assault. Ice, water, more ice and then fire. He disappeared in a cloud of dirt and smoke, hidden from view until...
A loud buzzer went off. Fenix had made it away, she'd officially escaped. And the dust settled to find a... Chrono on the ground, his barrier jacket torn up, his metal gauntlets were fine but the sleeves on his jacket were *gone*. He was panting, down on one knee, aching like you couldn't believe. Even his rod had a few cracks in it. On top of all of that, he had a few burns, was soaking wet and had bits of frost in his hair.
"Good job... everybody... mission successful. Yayyyyy..."
And then splat.
"Nobody is going to believe *any* of my reports back at the TSAB." If they ever got them. He... he was going to be fine. Just gonna lay here on the nice, soft, totally not-a-crater hole he now found himself in. As the barrier itself went down around them, the terrain reverting to mundanity and the non-magical people returned.
- Miho Inada has posed:
Yukihime laughs a little bit before falling on her butt. "I-I think we just beat an enforcer.", she says with a light laughter. The snow bunny with the red cross hops up to Chrono. It scrambles to get up on his chest, then hops up to his nose...And rabbitpaws a bandage on his nose! The bunnies melt away though, as they're just snow. Yukihime's body...starts to shrink away a little bit. Her fangs retreating in her mouth, and her taloned fingers go back to human hands. Yukihime's uniform turns into what Miho was wearing before the change. Save she's wearing a sports bra instead of the hoodie, which is conviently nearby either way.
Miho has finished changing, and starting to eat her food. Yup! There's nothing safe within her reach. Laura would remember how much Miho ate that first time. It seems her post fight meals havn't changed much as she's eating anything she can reach, while sipping on protien shake between chomps. "I have to remember that the defensive varient tends to burn a crapload of energy when I use it...", she mutters a little bit to herself. "Anyone hungry?"
- Molly Skyline has posed:
Molly slowly drifts down to the ground; all her various vents are still hissing and billowing out steam, but that's starting to taper off now. She stretches, rolling her shoulders and tilting her head to one side, then the other.
"We succeeded at an Enforcer's training scenario," she points out. "I'm not sure that counts as beating *him*, but I do believe his Barrier Jacket is in rough shape, so there's that." She pauses, and ohs, "Uhm, Starcrash, reclassify Chrono as friendly."
<< AFFIRMATIVE >>
The tracking label for Chrono changes from red back to blue, and gets accompanied by a little ^.^ emoji to boot. Well, that might not be an entirely accurate representation of his current condition, but all the battle visor shows at the moment is trajectory and velocity, both of which are stationary at the moment.
"Chrono-kun, you okay?" she inquires, approaching the blue-haired enforcer. "Need a snack or anything?"
- Laura La Mer has posed:
That's not as much of a laughing matter for Laura, who doesn't even do her signature victory pose in favour of approaching Chrono. The mermaid looks closer to the state the boy has been put in, an awkward expression showing up on her face as a result. Maybe they did go too far. "Are you ok?", she asks, trying to see if he needs a hand getting up, or if there is anywhere she hold him without causing him much pain.
She looks towards Fenix, regardless of whether she is approaching or not. As Chrono's familiar, she must have an idea of where to go to help him. Healing is not her suit, and Chrono definitely looks in rough shape.
"Good job on the end of the scenario", she still congratulates her fellow mahous. Even if she isn't sure what that would entail now. She would normally expect a few closing words from Chrono, but not like this.
- Chrono Harlaown has posed:
Chrono Harlaown gave a small nod. "I'm fine. Believe it or not, I've been through worse," he said before, slowly, picking himself up. Still, they were... strong. A lot stronger than he expected. He'd had plans, tactics.
He had not expect there to be this much force in their actions. But, more importantly, they'd worked together. They'd combined their attacks to come at him in different ways, from different angles. Protected each other while others attacked. Locked him down. He was... proud of them. He truly was. But *ow*.
Fenix was walking back now, her head cocked to the side. Then she gave Laura a gentle smile. "Don't worry. My boss may not look it, but he's actually quite tough. He also knows better than to be wounded and not acknowledge that he needs the help. He's merely tired, is all."
Chrono nodded, running a hand through his hair and... it was slick with sweat. Yeah. This one was tough. And now he had a bunny bandage on his nose. He was not going to aw about it, and just be thankful that the outers and Rashmi didn't see it. The last thing he needed was there to be a picture of him getting bunny bandaids circulating. Setsuna alone would likely never let him live it down.
"You all did very well, exerting high pressure tactics to disorient the opposition, covering each other defensively as well as sticking to your own talents, while stepping up to cover for each other's weaknesses. Such a varied and powerful mixed assault would surely be enough to throw off most opponents and I can say, without a hint of holding back, I am quite proud of all of you. I'd be lying if I said I expected you to succeed at this training exercise, let alone so handedly, but I am very proud that you did."
He then walked towards the little setup, taking a seat and one of the offered snacks. "And after expending magic, a proper nutritional refresh is paramount to ensure the next combat exercise is performed at top form."
"Molly, Starcrash, you've gotten much better at not over expending yourselves or wasting too much excess energy. I'd actually advise you to seek out Nanoha, she's one of the most powerful artillery mages I've ever seen. I doubt you'll be able to fully match her output, I'm sure there's plenty you would learn from her."
Then he glanced to Yukihime and Laura. "You two, on the other hand, aren't device mages. However, I would like to talk with you both later, on a one to one basis. I'm unfamiliar with your styles of magic and the more I can learn about it, the better the advice I can give to you during these training sessions, if you're interested in attending more of them."
- Miho Inada has posed:
Miho nods her head a little bit. "If you know Onihime, you know a little of my style. Save I also use onmyoji magics as well. I don't have her pure power. For the most part, in a fight, I support her from behind while she vangards for me.", she tells. "But yeah, Rashmi suggested meeting you to me. I've only been using my powers for about...a month now.", she admits. The woman chomps down a bit more. "You'll usually find me around the gym, doing physical training.", she tells.
Miho stretches out a little bit, and tosses a candy bar to Laura. She looks in her duffle bag, and frowns a bit. They weren't kidding when she was told that she'll have an increased appeitte after fights. She's already cleared her bag. "And Laura, I wouldn't worry too much about how bad he got hit. Its just like in sparring. If you're not going full speed, then don't do it. He got pushed, but I'm willing to bet that had it not been an exercise, he had a couple of moves that would have made it so we didn't go back home.", Miho says.
The woman stretches a bit. "And out in the field, its win or people get hurt. If we take whats said at face level, the three of us just took out whats considered an Elite level fighter. Somebody who could have very easily beaten all three of us indivually without even breaking a sweat. Thats the difference in level and experience between us right now.", the woman tells. Miho sighs. "Sorry. Dad is a retired MMA fighter, and a trainer.", she admits. "Not good at holding back when I see I have growth to make."
- Molly Skyline has posed:
Molly holds up a finger, "Hey, I was fully prepared to dive between you and Fenyx if I hadda," she replies, though she's grinning in the face of Chrono's praise. "You know I totally would. But, turns out both my teammates for this challenge are *awesome* and I didn't need to!"
All of that said, Molly is down to half her usual mana reserves, which really only means one thing; it's time for carbs. (Well, protein and maybe some unsaturated fats and stuff like that too, but carbs are the fun part.) So she claims one of the lunchbags packed by Chrono's Mom -- who is a wonderful woman, and Molly would know because she met her once for all of four seconds -- and opens it up to peek inside, all while her device and jacket are giving off their last little wisps of steam, and the cylinders on her staff finally clamp shut again.
"OOOH! Cheese and crackers with lunch meats? Is this the Japanese version of Lunchables?! OH MY GOD THAT'S THE BEST."
- Laura La Mer has posed:
Laura certainly has no intention to doubt him on what Chrono has been through, if nothing else for the brief explanation she had gotten earlier from him as to how he became an Enforcer. Laura's eyes shift to a look of contentment as she receives the double reassurance from Chrono and Fenix, now letting herself be happy about the result of their coordination.
"Thank you for providing this learning occasion", she smiles at the blue-haired mage, then at the other two mahous. "We did quite great even if we hadn't teamed up much all three of us", she grins. Or any at all in the case of her and Molly. She takes a bit of her food herself. "I have got sweet delicacies to add to this whole group. They will do great with all of this", she says after grabbing what Miho has tossed her.
She dedicates her attention to the crackers that Chrono has left for them first, taking one of them and musing over his offer. Today has certainly been productive, and besides the fact it is her duty still to warn people, she is as curious about what the TSAB is as Chrono is about her magic. "We can certainly talk more, I am quite interested in what you brought up", she readily gives her agreement, adding her number to what Chrono has gotten to know ot the day.
