Cast of Characters: Double Trouble, Adora Rainbowfist

Double Trouble has posed:
For once, Double Trouble was not trying to cause chaos. After their experience at the recital just a few days prior, they were retreating and trying to lay low. Which, for them, meant being Dianora, and today that had meant taking a walk in Penguin Park.

Unfortunately for her, pure an innocent as she was, Dianora was perfect bait for a youma, and caught the attention of some sort of strange shadow octopus creature that climbed right up out of the pond and started shouting at her, "You are just too cute! You'll be perfect for my collection."

Since they were laying low, Double Trouble just really had to throw themselves into their role entirely, playing the helpless little girl. But this was Tokyo, and she knew that someone would be there to save her. She had faith in those sparkles. At the top of her lungs, she let out the loudest scream, "HELP ME!! A MONSTER!!!"

And who should appear to save the day but She-Ra, the Princess of Power, and perennial favorite harassment target. At least she doesn't know that she was a harassment target. Probably. Although, Bow might have told her, if they're talking. There was only one way to find out. Once the big blonde heroine slayed the pond monster, Dianora clapped and squealed. She ran toward the blonde and leapt at her to give her a hug. "Oh thank you so much for saving me again, She-Ra!"

Adora Rainbowfist has posed:
Coincidentally, after an afternoon of studying, Adora had decided to go for a walk in Penguin Park as well, resulting in her witnessing the appearance of that... somewhat strange Youma. No seriously was someone playing too much hat collection video games or something?!

..Not that Adora knew much about video games but she did know one thing, she had a giant sword and hats and red tape are very cuttable! Which is when She-Ra came out and did, well, the She-Ra thing. Mostly leaping out of nowhere and slicing it. Seriously how does someone who's like 8 feet tall sneak up on a monster like that?

...Mostly by jumping out of a convenient tree. Don't ask why she went up the tree. It seemed like a good idea at the time.

Regardless, it was over ... relatively quickly. There were no real swordbeams involved, mostly just normal swording and occasional weapon transformations but that's not the focus at the moment.

No, it was this moment afterwards, as Dianora squealed and ran up to She-Ra, leaping at her. She-Ra reflexively catching her with one arm as she moved her sword out of the way for safety's sake. Adora tries to sound gallant and brave as she says, "You're welcome, young lady! Though I am afraid that something happened and I cannot remember our first meeting." She pauses. "So, let us go with, uh, re-introductions. I am She-Ra, the Princess of Power. And you are..?" ... ... Yeah she still isn't very good at acting at all.

Double Trouble has posed:
Something happened and I cannot remember our first meeting.

Dianora hugs She-Ra tightly and does not let go. She has to in order to hide the huge grin on her face. If she doesn't remember Dianora, what else doesn't she remember? Oh she was so curious, she had to hide her face to hide her feelings. But then She-Ra asks who she is, and, well, there was no choice but to be dramatic and show off just a little.

Letting go she practically leapt out of She-Ra's arms, doing a back flip to land into a curtsey. "Dianora Lagorio," she said before rising back up and beaming. "One day I'm going to be a star!"

Then she stepped up and reached out to grab hold of She-Ra's hand. "What happened though? Is Swiftwind okay?" She sounds concerned, and then sounding more like a dreamy girl, she says, "He's such a handsome alicorn."

Adora Rainbowfist has posed:
Is there a sense that something is wrong? That there is danger nearby? ... If it's there, She-Ra's glance around the area is enough to assauge those feelings. There doesn't seem to be any more trace of danger or Youma nearby, just a few people looking at the giant woman a bit funny because she didn't have any fancy barrier powers or anything, so she was just out there, taller than most people had ever seen probably.

With a tiny girl clinging to her. There might be some people making incorrect assumptions, but more importantly, there was suddenly a backflipping and curtsying girl in front of her and She-Ra had to steady herself at being a springboard. Which was certainly a sensation she didn't expect in a non-combat kind of way. "A star you say? I see, well! I am sure you shall achieve your dreams if you keep working at them." Is there something else she's supposed to say? She saw it on the TV the other day. Oh, right. "And stay in school." She nods.

The questions of if Swiftwind is okay gets a soft chuckle from She-Ra. "Of course he's--"

And then the alicorn swoops in from nearby, landing on She-Ra's shoulder in small mascot form still. "Did someone say... SWIFTWIIIIIIIND?!" The alicorn sing-songs as he lands. "See, he's fine." She reaches a hand up to pat the top of his head. "Weirdly tiny, but fine." She shifts the hand that she'd patted Swiftwind with to let him move to, lowering him down closer to Dianora's level so she can verify that he is, in fact, okay.

Meanwhile, because it's awkward to talk to someone just over half your height, She-Ra gets down to one knee to get more on Dianora's level. "Do you get into trouble often? That I've saved you multiple times is concerning."

Double Trouble has posed:
The alicorn swoops in with his catchphrase and Dianora squeals with delight, hopping and clapping her hands. "Swiftwind!" She runs right back up to She-Ra, who very conveniently lowers him down to her level before doing the same.

"You're all small again," she says. It's a test. She doesn't know if Swiftwind's memory has been fussed with. For all she knows, this is just an entirely different Adora an Swiftwind. Tokyo was such a strange place. "Was it Onee-chan's fault this time?"

Then She-Ra is asking about how often she gets into trouble. Now, the truth is, excepting for this time, every other time has been a scheme Double Trouble cooked up in order to connect with the sparkle squad. But this time was an honest rescue. But she had a story to sell, and she was a thespian.

"It hasn't been very long since whatever happened, has it," she says. It's not a question. "Spend a little more time in Tokyo and you won't be as surprised. These monsters just show up, and they're very attracted to my pure, innocent, main character energy." She sounds so confident in that statement, like it's obviously factual.

Adora Rainbowfist has posed:
Swiftwind tilts his head. "Again? I've been small the whole time I've been here." Was it Onee-chan's fault. Swiftwind looks towards Adora. And then towards Dianora. "Nnn....no...? Sort of? Yes? It's complicated timey-wimey nonsense."

She-Ra shifts a bit awkwardly at that revelation, then again the whole 'being adored' thing is kind of neat but also awkward for her. She-Ra shifts into a cross-legged sitting position. Definitely not because her foot was falling asleep. Yep. Absolutely not. "Not... particularly long. And I've been focused on uh, things." Mostly studies because holy crud she's behind on most subjects by RHM's standards. The comment of pure, innocent, main character energy gets a soft laugh from She-Ra.

"Ah, truly? That would explain it if you have such energy. It's like how I can never escape the war with the Horde until they're defeated." Paaaaause. "Not that the Horde is really here. Except Catra, but she barely counts at this point." Obsidian is here though, and they're almost as bad but that's not part of the conversation. Nevermind that this definitely normal girl can remember magic and that's definitely not a normal thing, but She-Ra isn't really thinking about that sort of thing right now, she's still adjusting to the fact a Veil even exists, after all and resisting the impulse to just turn back to Adora right there.

Double Trouble has posed:
Dianora looks from Swiftwind to Adora and then back to the little mascot. "It's nice to meet you, Swiftwind," she says brightly, then turns back to the blonde, to listen to her go on and say so many things she could latch on to.

Not too long ago, Double Trouble would have leapt at the chance to manipulate and torment Adora. It was one of their favorite pastimes. But since Hinoiri had gone to the good side, and now they'd connected with Scorpia, being mean to Adora just felt a lot worse. And really, they had more in common than not, both being Etherians here on this magic-forsaken rock. It had felt so good to connect with Scorpia. But she didn't know what the blonde remembered, and so she still had to be careful with what she said.

"You're here, Catra's here, Glimmer's here, Bow's here, Scorpia's even here," she says, meeting She-Ra in the eyes, like casually name dropping the names of people in her past life was normal. "Sooner or later the Horde is going to find its way here, and you know it."

Adora Rainbowfist has posed:
"Uhh... I already know you though, silly! You can't have forgotten a majestic being such as I, Swiftwind!" The Alicorn replies to Dianora. Then again maybe there were just some weird things going on or something, who knows. And then Dianora mentions basically all of Adora's friends, giving She-Ra pause. "Hm, not only did you apparently know me, you apparently knew me quite well. It's unfortunate that I've forgotten you, clearly. We must have been good friends before the... incident."

Another person who remembered her but she didn't remember, it always bothered her the slightest bit, even if she's gotten mostly used to it now. "There was something that happened during the incident that made others seem to panic, some person or something who Glimmer reacted to very strongly. I didn't see it because I arrived ... after ... the end of the incident, but..." Pause. "It's possible they may be coming sooner than later. And there's something about those weird dreams that have been happening recently."

"I mean. Weirder than normal because they don't involve seeing She-Ra in my dreams but anyway. Some sort of fire spirit or something? I haven't ended up being in the right place to interact with any of that though, I don't think." Another thing that Dianora had over She-Ra apparently, possibly more information. Then again. "I'm guessing from all the names you know you're either also from Etheria, or ... at least are just close with those of us from Etheria, right?"

Double Trouble has posed:
One thing Double Trouble hated being was out of the loop, but they were. The fact was their life was all tangled up with Hinoiri's and not with their fellow Etherians. Not as much. That was something they wanted to rectify.

"Dianora's from Italy," the girl says, referring to herself in by name in the third person, which is a little weird. "But I'm from Etheria, yes. Whether or not you already know me depends entirely on when you're from."

Then she turns to Swiftwind and says, "Of course I've met you, but when I first met you you were a tower of equine muscle and charm. The last time She-Ra rescued me, we rode you back to campus, just like back in Etheria." But then she gets an idea. "Tell me, do you two remember a girl back in Etheria named Flutterina?"

Adora Rainbowfist has posed:
Dianora's from italy. Huh. That's an interesting way to put it. She-ra just gives a small nod to that. "I see. Aaaand... considering I don't know Flutterina, I'm assuming I don't know you. I'm from right after the uh. Portal incident." So just before she'd have met Double Trouble.

Swiftwind, meanwhile, says, "Well yeah I've been able to change /form/ this whole time but this world makes me tiny when not immediately needed or something. Oh! Oh! I know Flutterina, she was a... ... ... moth girl!" Swiftwind, of course, being swiftwind. Is absolutely unhelpful.

...They say that pets mirror their owners, and that's probably where Swiftwind gets his ever so helpful memory from. She-Ra gives a small nod. "Yeah, he was around before I was with the other She-Ra that I guess was from the future and also there were some less than great things that happened so she decided to go back home and then I popped out I guess?" A helpless shrug.

Double Trouble has posed:
"Oh, so you're Catra's Adora," Dianora blurts out. They'd been so careful with her name this whole time. "Maybe you'll have a better time than she did since you're at the same spot in your character arc as Catra." She's just talking about them like they're characters in a story. Which really, to her? They kind of are. All of her memories are just a fiction for this Adora and the Catra here too. "The future she was pulled from was her happy ever after, and she never could adjust."

Her eyes drifted off toward some of the trees as she talked. Like she was looking off into her memory. Who was this girl? "But if you're from the Portal Incident, you haven't met me before," they say. Then they glance around. There's not very many poeple, and they just don't care. If a few people go home with fuzzy memories of their time in the park because they saw some magic, well, She-Ra was right there. Besides, an entire auditorium of people saw them dehenshin the other night.

She lifts the necklace up off her neck and immediately loses her shape, turning into a blob of inky possibility that then coalesced into a green reptilian person in a black mesh jumpsuit with a tail and fabulously long yellow hair. Definitely Etherian.

"Double Trouble at your service," they say, and take a deep bow, their tail swishing up behind them.

Adora Rainbowfist has posed:
And the thing Adora suspected was confirmed when she's called 'Catra's Adora'. This person knew who she is... not that she was particularly good at keeping secrets, and her previous self is, well, her too so. "Yeah. Yeah that's about the gist of it. I'm Catra's Adora." She says, letting her own transformation drop, the Sword of Power remaining in hand. Which might be something that is a Bad Sign if DT knows the whole story.

"Yeah.... that's uh. That's what I heard too. About the difficulties adjusting, that is... along with some awful things involving some dark energy." Adora says, turning the Sword of Power into a bracer on her wrist.

Confirmation that Adora hasn't met her before gets a small nod, as she stands up, watching as the transformation... kind of ... starts. That weird blob of inky possibility that... had... sort of a magical but kind of not at the same time feeling to it. "I..." She pauses. "That's really cool and it's nice to meet you meet you." Adora says at the sight of the transformation, her eyes maybe sparkling ever so slightly and then she pauses again. That look of 'she's about to say something dumb' briefly crossing her face before she blurts out, likely without properly thinking, "...Who the heck names their kid 'Double Trouble'???"

Double Trouble has posed:
Their cover was already blown, and even if they weren't going to torment her, Double Trouble really did love messing with Adora. But part of them thought it might also make her feel better to see faces from home. But really, they just felt like showing off.

"Certainly not my parents. I never met them. I hatched from an egg and made it on my own in the Crimson Waste, darling," they say, sliding up to put their arm around Adora's shoulder as they shift to look just like Adora, in her force-captain uniform with a ridiculous hair-poof. "I chose the name myself," she says before shifting and quickly stepping around behind her and shifting again, this time to Catra. "Because I'm way more trouble than anyone can handle."

Then she grins, and says, "Hey, Adora."

Adora Rainbowfist has posed:
"Oh so it's like how Catra and I named each other then kinda I guess, got it!" Adora says, before... pausing as she's looking at herself. ...And the ridiculous hair-poof. "I uh. Never really met my parents... either..." That hair poof is so distracting oh my gosh.

"A...and my hair isn't tha--" Double Trouble steps around her, and then there was a Catra coming around the other side. One, that was ridiculously smooth but Adora doesn't have the brain power to process /that/ part particularly well as she's instead faced with a Catra going 'Hey Adora' after saying that she's more trouble than anyone can handle. "..."

"...That's probably true about both of you." Adora mumbles under her breath. A part of her is fighting an instinct to recoil, another is fascinated because honestly this was all really cool in a very weird and also very difficult to process way. "...So do you like... actually... change shape or is it all like... illusions and stuff?" Is all Adora can think to say.

Double Trouble has posed:
First they shift back into themselves. That inky blob of possibility quickly rearranging itself into a familiar form. "Oh I change shape. I caused a lot of trouble on Etheria. You kids were so easy to mess with," they say. They cannot be older than sixteen. "But don't worry. I'm not your enemy here. I'm with Obsidian out of convenience, not because our goals align. They gave me this." They pull the necklace out and drop it back over their head.

It seems less inky and more glittery as they shift into Dianora, but then there she is in all her pink glory. With her jet black hair and striking eyes. She truly does have star quality. "This lets me go out in the world without having to use my magic. I can't keep shapes very long on Earth. It takes a lot out of me."

Dianora grins, then. "But you know the best way to get energy back?" She takes a step closer and reaches up to grab hold of Adora's hand. "Have you had curry yet? Have you been to Korma Chameleon?" Of course that's Double Trouble's favorite restaurant.

Adora Rainbowfist has posed:
"I, uh. I can believe that. Being able to completely change forms..." The possibilities are endless. Especially when already at war. It would just take a little bit of confusion and messing with tactics of things. "I'm going to choose to believe you that we're not enemies here especially since things are already complicated enough with Glimmer being in Obsidian too." Adora responds to the comment of not being enemies. Can be opponents without being enemies, right?!

...Or something. And now Double Trouble's back to short pink person which is /very/ different from the original form too. "...Okay so since you also do the height change thing I have to ask. Is ... is it disorientating for you sometimes too when you're in the taller form after being short?" Adora asks. And then Korma Chameleon is mentioned. "Say no more and lead the way I have had the food there and also I have no complaints of having it many many more times."

Pause. "Oh. Oh the name. Hah! That's clever." She says with that slightly goofy laugh of hers that she gets occasionally. She takes that hand, moving to follow after Dianora. "This sounds like the start of a great friendship."

There is no way in which this can go wrong. Definitely. Nope.
