Beach Bulwarks
Date of Scene: 13 November 2024
Location: Beach
Synopsis: Aloisia is training on the beach, which draws the attention of Sequoia Maybach. They have a brief little conversation.
Cast of Characters: Aloisia Stauss, Sequoia Maybach

Aloisia Stauss has posed:
A sprawling beach looking out onto Tokyo Harbor. With the recent storms, some natural, some walpy-caused, it has made it relatively dirty. Which is where Aloisia Stauss is right now, off towards one of the further ends of it and in her henshin. Using the trash as a good option to test her relatively newly-repaired Devices and put them through their paces to make sure that they're up to snuff.

... Which results in the strange sight that luckily most nonmagical folks aren't seeing as pieces of driftwood are being sent bouncing in the air and ricocheting off into the distance far back out to sea.

...Luckily, with the recent storms, most ships are currently not leaving harbor, or that might be a bit of a hazard and there might be some people thinking they're under attack.

Sequoia Maybach has posed:
Trash sure is an interesting choice for a training dummy. Nevertheless, after the recent storms, Sequoia has... Mostly recovered from the events of Walpurgisnacht. Mostly.
Walking along the beaches and seeing the bouncing driftwood catches her attention for sure.
<OFFIZIER.> Her device chimes from Standby mode, also having its curiosity piqued.
"I see it." She says, making her way over and... That's a familiar face.
    "Ah. It's you."

Aloisia Stauss has posed:
Getting closer makes it more obvious to see what's going on, there were a series of Wall spells set up, each set at a precise angle, a pair of the triangular Belkan magic circles overlaid over each other -- creating more of a star -- making up the Wall spells, and Aloisia Stauss stands at a lower end of them, her Devices glowing faintly as she kicks a piece of Driftwood into he air, before moving rapidly into a quick Shield Bash movement to launch the driftwood into the barriers, sending it bouncing up rapidly between the series of shields, then off into the distance.

<PRINZESSIN.>

Aloisia glances towards the approaching person, still in the stance to continue those efforts. The shield that had been damaged before seemed to be in MUCH better shape, no longer active cracks in it and more like recently repaired metal.

"Ah. Weisser Ritter." Pause. "You did well the other day."

Now that she's sure it's someone who isn't going to make a fuss about it -- or might make a different fuss at least -- she tosses an old dried up coconut into the air to launch into the barriers to 'PING! Pingpingpingpingpingping' off into the distance much like the piece of driftwood. "Enjoying the show?"

Sequoia Maybach has posed:
    "Huh..."
Watching the display, Sequoia pauses. That's definitely a way to train and she may already be taking notes in her head.
"Yeah, hey." She greets at first before rubbing the back of her neck with one hand, and grinning sheepishly.
"I guess." She says. "I mean I kind of got thrown in the super deep end. My options were sink or swim. ... I chose to swim." She says with a little huff.
"Oh yeah it's giving me a few ideas, I think." Not so much for shield bashing but for shield layering, at least.

Aloisia Stauss has posed:
"Still, choosing a pacifist for its partner... your Device certainly made a choice." Aloisia comments absently. "Not necessarily a bad one, though one that is very strange to me. To think, coming from worlds where concepts like pacifism could take root..."
Aloisia shakes her head at that, "It is nearly unimaginable to me." She says, waving a hand towards the Wall spells to dismiss them. "But I do not have much right to judge people from this world." She turns fully towards Sequoia, looking her up and down a moment as she steps towards her. "Hm. Have you been training since finding your Device?" Aloisia asks, crouching down slightly to get more on eye level with Sequoia. Light purple eyes attempting to look into the vivid golden eyes. "As a wall, you will need to ensure your body can stand up to blows."

Sequoia Maybach has posed:
"What's that supposed to mean?" Sequoia asks, face scrunching briefly.
<ICH BIN FUR SCHUTZ> The shield-shaped trinket on her bracelet pipes up.
"My father always told me that it's not necessary to raise my hand to solve a problem. Or to protect others." She explains, holding up her Device. "Schutzschild was his Device before mine. Though he doesn't remember those days now, apparently." She says, pursing her lips.
"I didn't find it, it was given to me. Dad said as long as I had it it would keep me safe. I didn't expect it to be tech from another world that would turn on when my friends needed protection and I stood up for them against a youma, but here we are."
She meets that gaze though, there's a new steel behind her eyes that wasn't there before Walpurgis.
    "I'll do my best, though."

Aloisia Stauss has posed:
"Armed Devices are usually not made for peacetime, that is all that I mean. Even if, as your Armed Device says, it is for protection." Aloisia responds absently. "But then... if you are purely focused on defending others, as I said. A pacifist wall is still a wall."

The comment about the father gets a simple nod. "Ja, well, I have lived a different truth than that, that is all. It does not necessarily make your father wrong." She straightens back up to pat Sequoia's shoulder.

"The steel in your eyes is truth regardless, and that is all that matters. Still, you would do well to make sure that you train your body well, if you can put your strength and weight into defenses, it will help reduce the chance of your footing failing before your wall does." There was a slightly crooked smile at Sequoia. A bit bemused. "The magic upon this world is a cruel thing, though, I am sure your father was a great knight if he survived to forget his magic and pass down his device to you."

She shakes her head. "I apologize, I do not mean to judge you, simply... a pacifist Knight is such a strange concept to me, not entirely unheard of but... well. Different enough there are many who will likely not believe you."

Sequoia Maybach has posed:
'A pacifist wall is still a wall'.

Such simple words. But Aloisioa might not know just how much they sparked something in the younger Knight, the night of Walpurgis.
"Lived a different truth?" She asks, curious as her shoulder is pat.
Nevertheless she nods. "I'm going to work hard." Is all she says, simple and pointedly. Her desire, dedication, and intent are all there and very real.
But then she purses her lips. "I'm sure he was a good Knight."
Nevertheless though she shakes her head.
"It may be strange. But I'm going to make it work. Whether others believe it or not." That's her conviction.

Aloisia Stauss has posed:
"Ja, a different truth. I am a soldier, I have been defending my home for as long as I can remember from wild beasts, space pirates out to steal the wealth of our land." Aloisia responds. "I am from another world, one much less peaceful than this one, Weisser Ritter."
The statement that Sequoia is going to work hard gets a small smile. Differing beliefs, but... still. "I hope nothing ever forces you to choose otherwise. Such hope for peace are things that are part of what make this world so blindingly beautiful and bright." Aloisia says with a soft chuckle.
"I ... am in such a situation there are likely times I will be fighting against you, Weisser Ritter. I will not apologize, I am doing what I must. But know this: You have already earned my respect as a vanguard with your actions during the night of Walpurgis." She smirks towards Sequoia. "And I am excited to see what you do with your convictions, little knight." The impulse to try to train her is high... but that already has burned her once.
"You already have good allies who will show you a good path to follow on making sure you are ready for what life may throw at you. Foolishly wonderful people who even help a criminal such as I."

Sequoia Maybach has posed:
A soldier... That is one way to put it into perspective, and Sequoia nods a little grimly.
Hopefully though nothing will ever force the fledgling Knight's hand to turn to violence...
But that's a thought for the future. The present Sequoia purses her lips when Aloisia so openly says there may be times where they'll have to come to blows. But. The respect is there at least.
"It's fine." She says. "If we have to fight then I'll do what I do best; protect others from you." Not a threat, just a statement as she holds a hand out. "Becuase I'll give everything I have for my friends and allies. Whether you're one of them or not."

Aloisia Stauss has posed:
The response from Sequoia gets a laugh from Aloisia, a deep one that comes from the belly, one of true amusement... but yet somehow not... really... making fun of her. "Ah. That is the kind of energy that is why I love fighting. Good, good. I look forward to it."
And Aloisia shifts slightly, before leaping into the air and using a burst of magic to launch off into the distance. "Take care, Weisser Ritter~." She calls out as she flies away.
