Maintenance Issue, Close Ticket

Synopsis:	Rashmi drops Tenraikaze off with her Master, back to 100% and ready for action! Zephyr responds with a bag of gifts, and of course many thanks are exchanged.

It's been a few days since Zephyr handed her Device over to Rashmi for maintenance and replacement parts. A lot of things have happened since then, but there has always been time to do some work here and there. One thing Tenraikaze might appreciate; the moment she has the Device open to work on, she's Working On The Device until she can get to a point she can safely close it back up. There will be no dust-gathering for a Device's internals in *Rashmi's* workshop... Even if her 'workshop' is 'go to the Shop Club's room, set up a Barrier, and set out her tooklit.'

The moment she finishes the work and calls it complete, she sends off a quick message to Zephyr's cell.

    << Txt to Page Mage -- Sure, I'll meet you there, under the tree, east side? >> comes the reply, it might be surprisingly well written and fairly quick on the response time, considering Zephyr's without her Device.

    And so it is, the tall foreigner-seeming girl is sat on a bench, a small bag resting against one leg of the bench as she leans back, bundled in a puffy jacket, camo-pattern trousers, and heavy black boots.

    The Jan Ken Pop cart is nowhere to be seen either.

A short while later, Rashmi flitters from the Academy on ankle-wings of golden light, touching down far enough that she can drop her Barrier Jacket behind another tree. As she approaches Zephyr's bench, she grins brightly and lifts a hand to wave as she approaches. Today she chose a matching thick knit sweater, cap, and mittens in an off-white, long woolen charcoal skirt, winter leggings, and fluffy boots. Even bundled up as she is, her cheeks are bright red from the cold, as she drops onto the bench. "Hiiii, Zephyr-san! You'll be glad to know, sourcing the parts turned out to be a little easier than I thought!"

    Zephyr gives a cheery wave in return. Not many people out in the chilly weather, so she doesn't bother with a telepathy signal. "Oh? No duels to protect my Device's honour? I'm sure you were disappointed." she jokes lightly. "I'm glad you didn't have to go out of your way too much on my account... how is she?"

"Oh, *heartbroken,*" Rashmi chuckles. "And Tenraikaze-chan was an absolute treat! I swapped out the parts you asked for, and did a little work on the self-repair module while I was at it. She tells me she's back up to fighting fit, and barring any *serious* usage problems, she should outlive the both of us. I figure now, the level of strain she was under... She ought to be able to repair it herself in a week's time, but of course it won't even get *that* far now. Here..."

Tapping the sunburst charm, she produces a Christmas-themed card, with Tenraikaze folded inside. "See for yourself!"

    Zephyr accepts the card, and gently extracts her Device from inside. She lets the coin-like form rest in her open palm, and gently runs her magic through it. "Welcome back, Dee... Run system diagnostic."

    The gemstone lights up, < System Diagnostic. All systems Green. Repair module working at 100%. Buster System at 100%. Barret System at 100%. Increase. Barrier. Shield. Field. Bind and Mobility modules 100%... I am back. Chief. >

    Zephyr smiles warmly, bringing the Device too her chest and clasping it with both hands... she then clips the coin to her bracelet again. "Thank you so much, Rashmi-chan, Dee's repair module must've gotten knocked out when we D-ported here, but we never realized." She reaches down to the bag, and lifts it up, offering it to the younger girl. "Here... they're not wrapped, but I got you some things. For Enforcer Harlaown too... mundanities, trivialities really."

At the Device's self-report, Rashmi can't help but squeal, just a bit. It's so *nice* to see your work pay off immediately! As Zephyr offers the bag, her eyebrows rise sharply. "Oh, you didn't have to! And yeah I saw the module was *juuuust* out of alignment enough to lose connection, and it looked like some corrosion set in when it tried to access it a few times... Nothing that couldn't be fixed with a little attention. But, thank you *very* much!"

And indeed, Zephyr is just being thanked for *giving* something, Rashmi Terios isn't gonna wait and *see* what it is before being grateful.

...That said she absolutely opens the bag immediately to take a peek inside.

    Inside the bag, is a few blank notebooks the covers bearing logos and character art from anime shows. There's one from Pretty Soldier Nekocharm, another from Robo-Warrior Great Zettsu, and a third has the main character from a slice of life, DoraTora. There's a few assorted pens, pencils, art supplies, general things someone who doesn't really know someone may think would be useful for a student. There's also a few manuals on local tech, mid-level ones, not entry-level so a bit more technical, and a 'Girls for Dummies' book, clearly for Chrono, probably meant as a joke.

There is a great deal of 'ooh'ing and 'aah'ing over the individual gifts within; even if they're simple gifts, clearly they'll either be very useful or are just cute enough to deserve note. The technical manuals are received with much deeper gratitude, and the Girls For Dummies book earns a hoot of laughter. "Okay, I'm *definitely* telling him who this is all from."

Would it be considered gossiping, though, to note that she'll probably end up giving it to Bow? Boy *does* need a nudge...

"Well again, you didn't have to, but I'm *very* glad you did, thank you *very* much!"

Zephyr Windstar has posed:
    "I don't have nearly as much experience with... other people, as I'd probably benefit from... but, you're welcome, Rashmi-chan." replies Zephyr, smiling warmly at the younger girl. "And, of course I didn't have to... that's what gifts are about." she counters. "I'd have gotten you these things, even if you hadn't repaired my Device for me."

Rashmi Terios has posed:
"Well I'll remember that," Rashmi says, nodding seriously. "New Year's is coming up after all, and I'm gonna be spending most of the break finding things to give everybody."

Returning the smile, the redhead slips off the bench, standing and bowing to Zephyr. "Seriously, I mean it; Tenraikaze-chan was a treat to work on, and I'm *really glad* she's at her peak again. I learned a *lot* working on her."

    Zephyr stands too, looking down. "We're both glad she's back to 100%... I'm kicking myself for not doing a full diagnostic when I landed here, Dee's been slowly rotting away from the inside all this time... and neither of us could figure out why." she shakes her head. "Passing Night Breeze, not important." the phrase is said in an odd language. "Anyway, I shouldn't keep you any more... thank you again, Rashmi-chan. You really are a good Meister.... if only my dad could meet you... and not lose all his memories."

"Well, if it wasn't for the fact that he'd not be able to leave, I'd love to meet him too," Rashmi says. "Oh... speaking of the Fade; you might want to get in touch with the school, and see if you can set up a stall in the food plaza. ...We recently got something special put together, and apparently the pieces were helping the people guarding it resist the Fade? So now that it's here, and active..."

Rashmi shrugs. "Maybe it'll help. And there's the Shed, which is great for keeping tabs on stuff that's happening around town."

Zephyr Windstar has posed:
    Zephyr puts on an air of shock. "Terios-san, I'm not /that/ old!" she scoffs, then bubbles up in a giggle. "Seriously, though; I'll look into it... might help with that other issue I have, yeah?"

Rashmi Terios has posed:
"Probably, yeah," Rashmi chuckles. "Anyway, I should get going... You two take care of yourselves, yeah? Thanks again again for the gifts!" With another bow, and a wave, the redhead turns to bop her way toward the Academy.

And the probably dozen-thirty other projects she has on the burners, because girl does not seem like the type to spend much time doing nothing.
