- Usagi Tsukino has posed:
It starts with a simple communication a - text message sent from one false idol to another.
Usagi TXT: so was it you that day at the Takoyaki stand? you can be honest.
Usagi TXT: i don't bite.
- Minako Aino has posed:
Getting such a text from that number was of course going to garner a reaction from the recipient!
Mina TXT: Usagi omg are you okay!?
Mina TXT: Of course it was me! No one else can even come near getting you right. Fights can be a distraction but come on. I didn't know Mamo was going to ask me *that* though! I told him I'd be
Mina TXT: Wait wait, he told you?
- Usagi Tsukino has posed:
Aw, poor Minako, so eager to be reunited with her princess! As if Usagi were in any kind of trouble, with her darling little girl keeping her so happy.
Usagi TXT: of course she's okay. do you think Wicked Lady would treat her toys badly?
Usagi TXT: if you want a real update, come to the museum. I want to look at that strange little exhibit they put up.
Usagi TXT: maybe i'll even let you talk to your princess.
- Minako Aino has posed:
That was suspicious with a capital 'Artemis is warning her that's a trap you shouldn't go' which Minako ignored. Of course it was a trap of some sort, but so far none of them had been hurt by New Moon or Wicked Lady that she'd heard. Mostly.
And it was clear to her now that even though it was Usagi's number texting it wasn't USAGI doing the typing.
Mina TXT: I can worry about someone without thinking the worst about someone else! I'm not Nephrite.
Mina TXT: meet you there
If there was any chance she'd get to see Usagi was okay, then she had to try, right? Right. The little dig about Nephrite goes unexplained as well, even if it had been worked out between them by now.
It's not long after the brief exchange of messages that Minako comes into the museum headed straight for the exhibit they had that caught the attention of so many before. This time though she wasn't getting distracted by the exhibit as she looks around uncertainly.
- Usagi Tsukino has posed:
Usagi TXT: Nope, you're just Mina-chan.
Usagi TXT:see you there~
And indeed, at the museum is New Moon, in her black dress and mauve-ribboned straw-hat, her long pink braid nearly reaching her knees. She's staring at the Jeanne D'Arc wall, the many different interpretations of Jeanne the Magical Girl, but her attention shifts when Minako approaches.
"There you are~ I was getting bored, you know? There's nothing about the Silver Millennium here, since everyone was so busy being dead... it's not a romantic spot at all."
She's looking Minako up and down gauging her as much as investigating.
- Minako Aino has posed:
Minako Aino was dressed nicely! She was always dressed nicely though. An orange Summer halter dress with a cinched waist, and poufy skirt, and heels to match! And a purse on a gold chain slung over her shoulder. Of course her hairbow was there, but it was the darker burgundy one that Izou had gotten her and not one of her many bright red ones. It went better with the orange of the dress. It was fashionable, and cute, and breezey in the hot season, but perhaps not as eye catching as what New Moon was wearing.
"Ah, it is you," Mina blurts out as she blinks rapidly at New Moon. She'd gotten enough of a close up of her the other day at the stand of course, but there was no odd questions this time about Mamoru kissing her! Darn that Mamoru.
The gaze on her is met with a confident posture as she rocks her weight back onto one heeled foot, hip jutting to the side so she can POINT at New Moon. "You said you'd let me talk to Usagi-chan but I don't see her!"
- Usagi Tsukino has posed:
"I lied," New Moon says cheerfully, "I just figured it was the easiest way to get you here. And it worked! Thanks for being predictable."
Ah, that's a bit mean to one of her dear friends, but, well...
"Really though, thanks for coming. I wanted to talk to you about this wedding that's being planned, especially since you're working on the flowers with Izou. Mamoru told you the camellias need to be yellow and white, while the roses should be pink and red?"
Her eyes are very serious now, as they focus on Minako.
"You're being entrusted with a lot right now. It's not toon much, is it?"
- Minako Aino has posed:
Did she know? Did she know that one of the things she was being entrusted with was the Silver Crystal? That thought springs to Minako's mind at such a question which is precisely why she remains serious instead of simply laughing off the questions of the marriage preparations. At least for a moment, and then she chuckles.
"Oh I think he got upset and left but he did tell us the flower types, so I'll be sure to update Izou then! Though the roses I kind of expected," she points out simply because... Duh.
She hasn't answered about being entrusted with too much though. Instead she just smiles firmly. "Well you know what they say. 'When the going gets tough, the tough go shopping'~!"
- Usagi Tsukino has posed:
"...is that actually what they say, or is that what you've decided they said, because you like shopping?" She cocks her head to the side, looking at Minako thoughtfully, the hat staying firmly on her head. "He did get upset about something, but he's very upset about this whole thing because he won't just join Wicked Lady in darkness and have a good time, so."
She feels very slightly bad for him. A smidgen. This little bitty bit.
"It's always important to confirm," she says vaguely. "What shopping do you have left to do? Dresses? Or are you coming in fuku, for the Wedding That Never Was?"
- Minako Aino has posed:
"Shopping does solve a lot of things," Minako protests a bit defensively even if it wasn't true. Unless the problem was 'we're out of groceries' maybe. Thankfully New Moon moves on from that and she considers the rest.
"Well dresses yeah, and the guys are getting fitted for suits, and of course I'll have to be in fuku to *get* there but once I am we can always change." Here she actually pauses looking serious. "Otherwise ... I'm not sure it just seems like there's so much that still needs to be done?" Eh heh. She wasn't about to mention other things like--
"Oh, Izou was wanting to bring wine but everyone kind of shot that down so I think he's shopping for sparkling juice."
- Usagi Tsukino has posed:
"Shopping solves many problems," New Moon can agree, "Especially if you don't pay. But I don't think it will solve enough to have a saying... you just messed that one up again, didn't you?"
She is deeply amused by this.
"I don't really see the point of dresses and suits, if you'll all be in fuku. This is as much about Serenity and Endymion as it is Wicked Lady, after all, and the past and the future and triumphing, all of that sentimental stuff. Just like how this museum exhibit is all about the past that was, so is the wedding."
But she isn't saying not to do it.
"Good. No wine! Could you imagine if Wicked Lady got a hold of some?"
- Minako Aino has posed:
"It is, but it's also the wedding of our friends. Of course we want to look our best for their most special day! It's not like it's just another ordinary day but we're throwing a party. It's *their wedding* and that makes it super special even if it didn't have to do with the future or triumph as well."
Minako pauses in her diatribe as her expression softens, then turns stern again. "We've fought over two lifetimes for those two to be together. We want this to happen as much as they do. They deserve to be happy together! And Wicked Lady--ChibiUsa--Of course we're happy for her too. I heard it's going to be her birthday soon after that? All the more reason for a party."
Especially after they get purified. She is NOT sharing that thought though. Nope. Instead her attention shifts to the painting that was pointed out again as the museum is mention. An absent nod comes, and she murmers, "I'm told wine tastes awful anyway."
- Usagi Tsukino has posed:
"The wedding that never was," New Moon echoes her earlier sentiment, looking across the pieces of art, the Mahou that once were. And then she snorts. "I wouldn't say you all fought two lives for this to happen. Half of you fought for it, the other half against, and now we're all to be happy families, making a new house for our Lady, who will rise as the union of both..."
Her own sentiments, bitter and exasperated by dark energy, mingle with the happiness of old hurts, forgiven ones, even, made worse by darkness.
"Wicked Lady's birthday is at the end of June. June 30th. She says its her mother's birthday too, in her dimension. She was very put out that that's not true here."
If she could change the date of her own birth...
- Minako Aino has posed:
Minako Aino has to pause at that to incline her head in mild agreement. "Not all of us, but... Our lives really are a mess, aren't they?" She has to admit with a tired sigh. Rolling her neck she glances up toward the ceiling a moment, wondering why she was chatting so aimicably with New Moon. Then again if she was helping to protect Usagi she wasn't someone she wanted to make an enemy of.
"And our worlds were pretty different in so many ways." Ah, she wasn't one to get introspective for long. A shake of her head comes, and she gives New Moon an odd look before flashing a smile.
"I should get going now, there's still a lot to do with everything. Um. Tell Usagi we miss her, and ChibiUsa too."
- Usagi Tsukino has posed:
"You should. Don't forget that Usagi wears the pink bunny ear headphones on Wednesday streams, thanks to that American movie," New Moon orders sternly, pointing at Minako. "I know you have Koji helping you with the streaming schedule to avoid giving away that she's gone. If you mess up the details, the audience will start to pick up on something wrong."
These ordinary, mundane concepts might surprise Minako, and only later will she likely think to wonder why New Moon is this involved.
"Don't worry. Usagi misses you too. It'd be easier if you just joined her and Our Lady, but she never thought you really would."
And then she just, teleports away.
