Cast of Characters: Minako Aino, Roman Talleday

Minako Aino has posed:
Tough times call for icecream!

Mina was already seated with a lovely, large banana split in front of her, spoon held aloft as she prepares to dive into it but hesitates. This was a joyful thing to have of course, was just that her mind wasn't completely 'here' either.

"I get it. I do. There was a time I didn't want powers either and I know Usagi has never really wanted them." A long puff of breath is let out as she finally swipes up a bit of whipped cream with strawberry icecream caught beneath it.

Roman Talleday has posed:
Roman's own confection comes in the form of a rather giant crepe, stuffed with fruit and soft serve icecream, whipped cream, and snaking lines of chocolate sauce. Gripping it with both hands, it's bigger than his head, but the blond is somehow managing to take lofty bites out of it without it completely going completely to pieces.

"Doing somethin' for years on end, even if you're good at it... yeah. I get that. You lose track of who you are, when you ain't doin' it. Magic or not." He chews on a strawberry, thoughtfully. "When did you get your powers, like? You was the first one too, yeah? How'd you take it?"

Minako Aino has posed:
Minako Aino mmhmms quietly around the bite of icecream she'd scooped up. A quick lick of her lips makes sure there's no whipped cream left over so she can speak again without being too rude.

"I was twelve. I was already on the volleyball team, and did gymnastics, and I wanted to be an idol so I'd sing karaoke all the time. I was always good at athletics. Turns out it was due to my past life. I'm just naturally good at it."

The spoon waggles a little in the air as it circles to make another death-strike on her icecream selectively. "I thought it was a dream at first. Artemis had to scratch me up a lot to prove I was awake. It was just... A lot. But it was cool!"

Roman Talleday has posed:
It was, perhaps, a small boon that Darjeela-- and Ooolong especially-- did not possess claws, he thought.

"You'd be alright as one of them singers. Probably put you up the front of a girl group or somethin'." Blue eyes traced Minako's features before dropping to her spoon, watching it delve into sweets again. "I think if I'd come into all this any earlier, when I was still part of the Dance School... I'd have felt differently about it."

It wasn't something he'd considered heavily, before. Magic had come to him, perhaps gratefully, during a time of his life when he was looking for something different. A radical change. And that was precisely what he'd gotten, just not in the way he could have ever expected.

"Hope I don't have a past life to catch up with me. That'd be well awkward."

Minako Aino has posed:
Minako Aino lapses into eating faster while Roman talks. Her gaze remains fixed on him rather than looking at the icecream any longer. He was more important, after all! It was nice to hear about his own history.

"I think since I hadn't really found my own thing at the time it was just a matter of going with the flow It was challenging, and fun, and exciting! And Artemis kept me on track a bit." Another smile creeps over her as she falls into thinking. "I do enjoy singing still, and dancing. I think I always will."

The smile fades to a more serious expression as she recalls the recent events that had brought this particular conversation up. "Even so. I'm not sure I'd give up being who I am otherwise. It's so much a part of my life. I do think," she adds, seriously, "I need to give more consideration to what I want to do. Like. Take a break now and then."

Roman Talleday has posed:
"I have no idea what I'm doin'," Roman would admit to her, with a hint of humour that smoothed into a truthful shake of his head, "All this... is teaching me things about myself, but it's not like I got a plan."

He took a moment to look down at his great crepe. "With finals and all, and certain people graduatin', there's a lot of talk about that sort of thing around. What people want to do after school, and almost everyone here seems to be set for higher education, or there's a job they really want to get into... Japan's a lot, like that."

He hesitated before his next bite, flicking a glance up at her from under blond fringe. "My dad was magical too, once. He did ballet too, early on. But part way through his twenties, he switched to law enforcement. Figures." He tsked, "Not like I can talk to him about it, but I guess somethin' stuck. Can't see myself doin' that, though."

Minako Aino has posed:
"I get it about plans. I don't have any, either." Minako actually looks a little upset about this, lips pursed together. But there's another scoop of icecream on her spoon for her to attend to before she gets too much into moping.

"I'm supposed to though. I'm supposed to be the leader of the senshi. I mean, Sailor Moon is our princess and all but I'm supposed to be in charge of the others. I *should* have a plan. Right?"

A soft 'mmph' of agreement comes about finals, and she actually cracks a grin. "You know, I used to work with the police and Interpol back when I was just Sailor V. I kind of wonder if the agents I worked with were going through the Fade, too, or if they just thought I was some vigilante in disguise. Still," she shrugs a bit. "We have another year at least to figure things out. Just, I guess it *is* about time I started thinking seriously."

Roman Talleday has posed:
Another large bite takes an impressive amount of food into his mouth, as she speaks of interpol and her time as Sailor V. But he tilts his head to and fro, humming before he can clear enough to speak.

"Maybe that's the thing. We do have plans," Roman considered blithely, "At least, when it comes to being a Senshi, or a Cure. But then again, there's always a little nagging voice asking us what we're going to do next."

A small, squeaked 'hmph' sounded from his earring, and the small enamel teacup swayed on its own. He ignored it.

"I mostly just focus on trying to do a good job as a Champion of Aroma, and not fail my classes in the meantime." Which took effort, but he'd had solid help on that front, at least. He shugged a little, and smiled weakly at her. "Play a bit of baseball. Keep my tamagotchi alive. Talk to a pretty girl and eat ice cream with her-- that's my favourite bit. I plan to do more of that, for as long as she puts up with me."

He plucked out a strawberry with cream on it, gesturing it a little. "You should do singin' more. Really."

Minako Aino has posed:
The compliment hits it's target rather well as an easy smile settles on Minako, along with the slightest flush of color to her cheeks. She wasn't one to get so embarassed she'd turn completely red.

"Well this pretty girl rather likes spending time with you." It's offered smoothly with her eyes flicking to the side toward his earring only a moment. At least there was no Artemis here right now to play chaperone for them too.

"I should. We should go karaoke soon. Maybe drag some of the others along to cheer them up." Hm. It was an idea at least, and one that puts her in a better mood.

Roman Talleday has posed:
"I could do karaoke," Roman considers, optimistic as he lifts a brow. "Probably. I can yell into a microphone with no shame, anyway."

The strawberry disappears into his mouth and he licks cream from his thumb. There's almost a sparkle to his eye.

"Maybe if we keep spending time together, our plans won't end up lookin' so different, by the time we settle into 'em."
