Additional Historic Legacy Pretty Cure Origin Info

From Radiant Heart MUSH

Historic Legacy is one of the subcategories of pretty cure. For a quick idea, just imagine them as 'Fate/Pretty Cure'. There's more to it than that, but that's the basics.

Basic information

The focus of Historic Legacy is motivation. The enemies are the 'Deadbeats', youma who have lost all motivation. The fairies are incarnations of the legends of past heroes, those who the deadbeats are trying to erase from human history to remove all the world's drive. Precures selected by their fairy are given some of the fairy's power, along with a scroll. When they defeat a deadbeat, a part of the scroll fills out with their 'legend' (often in the form of colorful stickers).

What the precure gains from this deal is the ability to change their 'history', which changes slightly once the wish is made, but is cemented once their scroll is filled (Primarily, those near the wish maker will remember the new history, but those further away may still remember things as they had been). They are also able to use the stickers in their scroll for temporary abilities and help with other things, like many precure mcguffins.

Fairies

The fairies often embody aspects of the 'legendary hero' they represent and tend to have cutesy nicknames (Like Wukong goes by Wuwu and Bai Suzhen goes by Baibai). They take the form of normal mascots, either as 'pets' or 'plushies' if their form isn't of a normal animal on earth. Many of them do know of each other, even though they may not know each other directly. They tend to represent the modern retellings of their stories and, as such, may have voices/traits similar to modern retellings.

Deadbeats/enemies

Note: Much of this info is from the monster of the monster guide.

Deadbeats desire to eliminate humanity's motivation by tainting and destroying humanity's heroes, deadbeats take on the form of the Heroic Figure they seek to taint, and in doing so begin twisting the historical record. Their minions are called downbeats and their bigger youma(as seen below) are called upbeats. The generals are often rivals or direct enemies of a Hero. Their goals are to defeat the precure, as even if they attacked the precure outside of henshin, it would just mean that a new precure could take their place. They need to defeat the precure's will to fight.

For example, Cure Wukong's deadbeats might be White Bone Demon, while Cure Suzhen's is the immortal Fuhai.

Minions: For example, in the first usage an upbeat takes the form of Guan Yu, a hero from Chinese history, manifesting as a cruel, vicious man who cared only for power and nothing for his brother - transforming a hero into a villain.

General Abilities: They possess all the historical and legendary abilities of the historical figure they seek to taint. This means they might possess incredible strength (Hercules) or a holy sword (King Arthur), but they probably aren't piloting a mech or blasting lasers from their eyes. How Are They Defeated: The preferred method of Pretty Cures everywhere: a punch followed by purifying light! A justice speech about never giving in can't hurt, though. Restrictive Factors: There needs to be a catalyst for the chosen hero, something bringing them to humanity's forefront. For example, a new series starring that hero as a primary character. Special Details: Consult with Cho Konishi before creating a new Deadbeat!
