It was almost... sad about how quickly everything was packed up by Koji. An orderly mind, while it can kind of be an issue for other people, meant that all the bits and bobs that were kept in this room for the last year-and-change fit neatly into boxes.

All of those had been moved, leaving just a few extra things sitting in the closet. One of those being a huge two-handed Belkan Sword that was sitting stashed away so that it could self-repair from the damage it took in a recent fight. Reaching to grab it, a moment of concentration and a whispered 'Store' let it just become blue light before vanishing, with Hanzo flashing the word 'STORAGE' in a marquee scroll across the smaller outer face.
Two doors down, going to the other side of Chrono and Adrien, might not seem like far away to anyone else. Less than a dozen feet. But for Koji this was his world.
Right there was where Dar-... Mamoru would scuff his shoes off before turning to fall on his bed after a long day at work. Or the scratch mark on the closet where Koji had accidentally left a mark jimmying the closet open to get him a change of clothes. He could see their twin ghosts, sitting across from each other, phones out like some stupid Western, playing chess at each other at 1am when neither wanted to go to sleep or go do something else.
He could also see the room literally half-destroyed. The spirit-cat living on the bed. Other things. Flashing through his mind...
Especially the first day he walked in the door. Hair hidden under a baseball cap, brim down to hide his glasses, just trying to be as nondescript as possible. His new roommate wasn't there. But as he sat down on the bed that would be his for most of his 9th grade education, taking off the hat and hanging it on the side of the bed... This was going to be home now.
And he already felt so lonely.
Except he wasn't. He never was.
